I hate:
- People who think digital art isn't "real art" - People who think abstract art isn't "real art" - People who think any artstyle that isn't hyperrealistic is easy/basic - People who think that fanfiction doesn't count as actual writing
I've seen these opinions a surprising amount, almost always from people who aren't writers/artists and I genuinely want to know what they think counts as art or writing.

The fact that for some reason cheer competitions aren’t handing out medals this year. Like why?? At least if I get first place give me a medal to remember it. Last year I got medals for just participating and now I can’t even get one for winning. Ig the cheer competitions went broke this year bc the best thing I’ve got from winning so far is a rubber bracelet.

Why are all of my peers (at least within a certain demographic) obsessed with kpop, k/c/j drama, crocheting, cute things, and cozy games. and why can’t I like any of those things. I feel like everyone has the same 4 hobbies and I can’t relate to any of them.
On a similar note, WHY IS IT SO IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND PEOPLE WHO LIKE THE SAME VIDEO GAMES AS ME. most of the guys I have encountered are gatekeeping weirdly sexist assholes about it and all of the girls I encounter are only interested in animal crossing and stardew valley. I mean, the latter is completely fine, people should play what they like, but where are the rpg nerds??? I know they’re out there. Why can’t I find them.

People who tailgate people on a single lane road, the right lane, the passing lane, or any of the middle lanes. People who tailgate grandmas going slow, semi trucks, or any traffic that is going slower than normal. People who tailgate people going at or over the speed limit. People who tailgate because they are in a police vehicle, giant pick up truck, or some other vehicle that they think is masculating. People who tailgate. Just don’t, throw away your ego when you’re behind the wheel, and pass when you can ffs. Your endangering everybody around you.

Most of the guys I encounter as into "manly" games such as Elden Ring and Call of Duty, while almost all women I've encountered are into cutesy things such as Animal Crossing, or mobile games, like Candy Crush Saga. Now there's nothing wrong with any of these, as you said, people deserve basic human respect and support for liking what they like, but... where's the variety? Also guys being weird sexist gatekeeping douche canoes... this is mostly why I'm not nearly as comfortable around (other) people who are physically male, trans and enby people aside.
I'm willing to consider "these people" (people who fit outside the stereotypical norm) like stars in an inky black sky. There's a countless amount out there, but the distances between them are so vast, the chance of bumping into any of them (and certainly more than a few) is very low.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who finds the obsession a large percentage of female gamers have with animal crossing/Stardew valley kind of annoying (though I do love cute things). not that those games are bad or there’s anything wrong with liking them but like. do you not play anything else lol
same thing goes for dudes who exclusively play call of duty/Fortnite

Nothing wrong with them again, of course, but is it like 25% or 5% or something?
*I suppose the stereotype for men (which is largely true for a lot of them) is they're into shooters, MMO's, and Soulsborne titles. Or at least that's a large demographic. But I very rarely hear of a male to be into a JRPG, or a card game, or even the aforementioned cutesy games.
(*I don't blame women and minority groups in general for not getting into these titles as much, given how venomous and immature a lot of men are.)
My personal theory for both of these cases is it's a shadow or echo of (still existing) gender stereotypes that are subconsciously ingrained into the minds of the general public, with the idea that women have to like innocent, cute things while for men, it's either the male gaze or the male power fantasy that's most prevalent - toxic masculinity, in other words. Now, playing any one of these titles doesn't necessarily mean you're directly reinforcing nor supporting these stereotypes / roles (at least in any meaningful way, for the former at least), but it makes me wonder if there's a legitimate connection.
Edit: I guess I sort of contribute here since if you tallied up all my gaming hours over the course of a year, 90% would be into 7D2D, Project Zomboid, Terraria, and Minecraft, and 10% other. lol

I have zero interest in multiplayer games, largely because I don't want to have each experience turn into a homework project where I have to study guides and YouTube tutorials to learn the meta, otherwise at the risk of being verbally abused, kicked, and/or banned. Even simple, casual games like Minecraft occasionally have this problem now. Nah thanks, I'll stick to my singleplayer experiences where I don't have to treat every moment of gameplay like I'm training for the Esports.

I really doubt this is an example of subconsciously engrained gender stereotypes. I'm pretty sure it's just that people tend to play the games that their friends play, so it's not that surprising that a lot of girls play the same few popular games and that a lot of guys play the same few popular games. People generally don't have adventurous palates, and are content rotating between the same two-to-three games. Guys also tend to treat video games as more of a communal experience (compared to women, who are more inclined to play for escapism), so it makes sense that they would gravitate toward combat games that are typically multiplayer. Also, IDK how you can say that guys that are into JRPGs or card are "very rare" when there's a massive stereotype around DND and Magic the Gathering being male-dominated games, and some of the most popular video game franchises like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (and arguably, Zelda) are JRPGs.

Zelda is more an action-adventure series than an RPG, imo.
I will say I find RPGs and Nintendo games tend to have the most “gender-equal” fanbases in my experience. it’s still majority dudes but online at least I’ve met plenty of women who liked those games. it’s more when it comes to IRL interactions that everyone seems to play the same three games

I think it's also just the fact that regardless of what you think about it it's proven the demographics like different things. war games are intentionally aimed at the male demographic, cozy games are usually aimed at the female demographic. If those games are popular with those demographics, that's just because it works and the marketing was successful. People can just like whatever they like.

Regardless of your demographic or body type, we can all agree on something. Hero Wars and their incessant ads need to die.

I used to just block hero wars ads so I wouldn’t have to look at them, but now that they’ve infected youtube unskippable ads, I’m honestly baffled as to how they’re even allowed on YouTube in the first place? esp since creators get demonitised for the mildest things

Had to unfollow another artist I really like because they can’t shut up about their political beliefs. Sigh. I’m tired of being forced to care about internet strangers’ opinions. Like, I followed you for your really cool dragon art, but since you keep putting your politics out there… well, I don’t need to see that negativity in my feed. Bye bye.

Living in the times of culture wars makes everything suck because people are so divided on things. I think a lot of people rather not mess with politics but when politics decides to mess with their very identity, they will likely feel like they don’t have any choice but to care.

Here we are, back on the ad hate train. I swear that YouTube individually tracks your account and inserts ads on videos you watch regularly (especially ones that are an hour+ long), at the very least concerning music. Whenever I come across an OST/epic music/instrumental compilation video that's an hour+ long, and I click on it fairly regularly, within a week it's infected with ads every 2 minutes or so, and they're always the same unskippable 30-second YouTube Music Premium ad. That's one less road that's going to be travelled by me then.
Playlists have gone in the bin as well. What's the point of listening to a large selection of songs ranging from a couple to few minutes, if in-between all of them, I'm getting a YouTube Music Premium ad?

I hate the spotify ads that are literally ads for spotify. Not ads for premium, just spotify ads. "Click the banner to start your own playlist" "with spotify, you can get music for every vibe" like shut up I already have the app. I know how to make a playlist. I'm never getting premium, please die already
