First and foremost, are you makin the cat that’s at the cave? And then how exactly will it work when some cats inevitably visit the cave? Like is it giving moon pool? Cause if it’s where the stream originates I feel like it would be giving moon pool
Big f on it being 100 degrees

It actually wasn’t too bad today (and by that I mean I don’t think it went over 100 degrees today cB )
I have decided that I will make the cave kitty Still trying to figure out a name and face claim - I was thinking Puma, but I also kinda want her to have a Clan name already but I’m not sure on a suffix,,, Whenever the cave is discovered she’s gonna put the cat(s) on a “trial” of sorts to make sure they’re worthy of entering And I’m down for it to be a moonpool like situation, since that is where the stream originates o:

YESSSSS CAVE KITTY I’m only good at helping with names if I know what they look like And a trial sounds fun as hell - so then is everyone that comes to the cave gonna do the trial or just the first cat(s) that discover the cave? I’d the latter, it becomes a matter of who would get there first which I think should be figured out so there aren’t any conflicting scenes cause I know once the snow starts to melt Crystal and Kuta are gonna at least attempt to get up there Okay love it, we got a moon pool situation~

I know she’s gonna be big and strong and I’m picturing her as either ginger or maybe brown ticked tabby? I’m thinking she’ll do this with the first few cats that come across the cave until the clans are established

In that case I’d you wanted to stick with something like Puma you could use Leopard or Jaguar, but I think all three could be worked into a warrior name of some sort That fully makes sense okay I love that for her Can’t wait for her to see how dumb Kuta is

I’m trying to think of something a bit more “spiritual” sounding for her but I keep drawing a blank rip
I think she’ll find Kuta endearing but may also be concerned on how well he can lead

Google is of no assistance to me especially if you want it to fit into a warrior name as well
He’ll be fineeeee he’s totally got this - she should definitely have total faith in him

I just gotta turn my brain on and I’ll get a name
I do think she’ll sorta take on a mentoring sort of role to Kuta and try to teach him all she can about the clans and leaders

Gardenia and Wisteria Location: Forest With: Night ( 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑢) Gardenia outright hissed at that, standing her ground despite the size difference between them. He really thought he was the greatest cat there was, didn't he? "We left because if we didn't, we would have been split up. We had to escape a cageplace, and even after that, we had to make it out here where we wouldn't be scooped up by cat-catchers.", she hissed. "But we've accepted that this is our life now, and we're trying to learn. But if you're going to be an ass, we can find someone else to teach us, or learn on our own.", she snapped. "So sorry you can't stand helping others." Spark Location: Farm With: Bo ( Myst) Spark looked around outside the fence as well, standing up on it slightly and sticking his head through one of the slats. He knew snow could sometimes push coyotes or the mountain lions down from the mountains to look for an easy meal, which they usually figured the sheep would be. He didn't see anything though, and dropped back down to the ground, his tail waving. "Probably, he's got all those pelts to put on.", Spark said, falling in next to Bo, looking around every now and then as they walked along the fenceline. Shadow Location: Forest With: Honey Shadow had spent most of the storm either asleep, or very grateful for Honey. Their entrance had been mostly snowed over after awhile, enough for air to get in, but also enough so it stayed pretty warm in the den, especially with the both of them sleeping in the den. He had also finished a full weasel, having eaten when they'd got to the den as well, and the other half one of the times he'd been awake. They still had a full weasel, tucked up against the snow at the entrance to keep it fresh. He stirred when he heard his name, raising his head from under his tail with a yawn. "I am now.", he said, but didn't seem annoyed about it. He stood up, stretching, feeling a few of his joints pop as he did so. "Has the snow stopped?", he asked, glancing towards the entrance. Flame Location: Pine Forest With: Wila ( Feathertalon) Flame liked the smell of the pine forest, the sharp, tangy smell comforting in a way. He stopped when Wila did, looking around the forest floor as well. "We can keep an eye out as we walk, we'll just have to be alert.", Flame said. That would be easier than hoping something stumbled upon them here. There were sparse bushes and the dried fronds of ferns, so there was some cover, but not as much as the other part of the forest. He suddenly had an odd feeling, glancing back the way they'd come. It felt like something was telling him he should be on the moor, crouched behind a heather bush or chasing a rabbit. He shook himself slightly, like he usually did when he got those feelings. They were getting more and more frequent, and he wasn't sure what they meant. Flame had no idea if he should mention it to Wila, if she'd think he sounded crazy. (I think that's all the replies I need! If I'm missing any, lmk!)

Percy »
It was true, Percy didn’t know much of anything about the herbs that Smoke was listing off. He had never heard of most of those herbs, but tansy and fennel rang a bell. Mostly because he had once met a kittypet named Tansy and she had actually know a little bit about the herb that she had been named after. Fennel was something he had heard another cat talking about, how it could be used for healing. Percy had never gotten much information out of that cat - it had been an ancient tom that spoke in riddles and nonsense. Percy wasn’t even sure if what that cat had said about fennel was even true.
The tabby listened intently as Smoke spoke, his ears perked with intent attention. It was amazing, truly, how one cat could remember so much, and Percy knew this wasn’t even close to half of what Smoke knew. How one could hold that much knowledge Percy had no idea, but somehow Smoke did it. Maybe Percy would pick up on some of that knowledge by spending more time with the gray tomcat. Perhaps he’d learn a thing or two and be able to say, with confidence, that he knew what a certain herb did or how to tell it apart from some other lookalike flower. It wouldn’t be even close to what Smoke knew, but Percy would be happy if he could learn even just a little. That is, if Smoke stayed.
Already the thought of the gray tabby leaving weighed heavy in Percy’s chest. He was enjoying the companionship and didn’t want to say goodbye to a newfound friend so soon. The ginger and white tabby had always been the kind of cat to long for the company of another, and everytime a cat decided to hang out with him for longer than just a few minutes he would grow attached. He would get used to having them around and sometimes he would start pondering on what their future could be together. That’s how it had been with Lavender. That’s how it had been with a few other cats Percy had spent time with. And now here he was, already starting to feel himself think of Smoke as a cat he could spend a long time with.
Warmth prickled at his pelt when Smoke brought up the fact that he found Percy not to be average. It could be taken in two different ways - either Smoke thought he was below average and a rather ugly excuse for a tabby, or that he was above average and Smoke found him to be quite attractive. Even Percy’s whiskers burned at the idea of Smoke finding him to be more than just average, yet even this flood of embarrassment didn’t stop the loner from laughing softly, his eyes rolling in a playful manner. ”Ah, don’t say that too often around me or my ego will only grow bigger, and I don’t think either of us want that to happen.”
The mood switched from joking to somber as Smoke’s mother was brought up. It had been a while since Percy had actually sat down and thought about his own mother; she had been a kind mother, sometimes harsh, but she had told her kits that the world wasn’t going to always be so kind to them and that they needed to grow a thick shell if they were to survive. Some of Percy’s littermates had taken that to heart while others not so much. Percy had been one of those to not really take his mother’s advice. He knew how to survive without being cruel or unreasonable, and while he didn’t listen to his mother’s advice on that matter, he had taken into consideration all the hunting techniques and fighting moves that she had passed down. He had taken all that to heart, and when she had told her litter to leave and live their own lives, Percy had never forgotten what she had taught him. Some seasons ago he had tried finding her, wondering what his mother had been up to in the long while it had been since he had last seen her. She was sure to have had more kits in that timespan, and he was curious to learn about his potential younger siblings. Never did he find his mother or any potential siblings that he could have. Instead, he had found a black and white tom that had been on his way out of the forest and into territory way beyond here; the tom had told Percy he had met an older ginger tabby molly who had been frail, unlikely to survive much longer. Hearing of his mother’s condition and soon death had hit Percy hard. He could only imagine how Smoke had felt when his mother had passed, having lived with her, learning everything she knew and being there to watch her life decline. That had to have been hard.
Yet even if she wasn’t here anymore, Smoke was doing a job well done in keeping her memory alive. ”I know she’s very proud of you even now.” Somewhere out there the lingering energy of Smoke’s mother was watching her son as he continued to treat cats that needed healing and cures. There was no way a mother couldn’t be proud of that.
Surprise lit the loner’s eyes at Smoke’s words. His head cocked to the side, an expression of genuine happiness smoothing his visage. He had never known Smoke’s mother - and unfortunately never would - but just knowing that she would have liked him, Percy of all cats, made the tabby feel rather special. ”I would have loved to meet her, and answer any question she had to ask.” If only he had met Smoke sooner then perhaps he would have had the honor of knowing his mother personally.
The soft expression soon turned to one of longing. Percy looked down at his paws, a soft sigh escaping him. It took him a second to respond, not because he didn’t want to answer Smoke, but because thinking back to all the cats he had once found comfort in only for them to leave had him reliving moments he wasn’t all that fond of. ”I’ve had a few,” he confirmed after a moment, voice low; he didn’t mind talking about this with Smoke. It hurt, but in a way, it also felt good, like he needed to relieve the pressure that had been building up inside of him for so long. ”I had a tom stay with me for about three moons. Ran into him while fishing further upstream. He didn’t know much about how to live out in the woods, so I showed him around and taught him some tricks. Told me he’d grown up on the moor, and so I thought I’d make a forest cat out of him. Then three moons in he told me he was going back to the moor, and I’ve never seen him since. After that…” Percy sighed, the sound a tremble in the quietness of the den. His heart ached. ”After that was Lavender. She was a flighty molly, but one of the best hunters I have ever seen. She stayed with me for a few seasons, and then one morning I woke up and she was just…gone. Don’t know where she went.” He shook his head, swallowing down the lonely grief that threatened to swamp him. Slowly he looked back over to Smoke, green eyes watery and, deep down inside, glinting with the loneliness that he felt more often than not. The feeling of not having another cat to spend his time and life with. For as much as Percy loved being a loner, he hated being alone, and sometimes he was reminded of that in the harshest ways possible.
Creamsicle »
Shielded from the cold of winter and stomach full thanks to the earlier rabbit, Creamsicle buzzed with a newfound energy she hadn’t had in days. When the last time she had played was, she had no idea, but here she was now, running her kit-smooth pawpads across Cotton’s muzzle before dramatically plopping down as the elderly molly bumped her nose gently into the kit’s chest. Creamsicle chirped with laughter as she rolled onto her back, exposing her extremely soft underbelly; now that Cotton was no longer perceived as a threat - not that Creamsicle thinking of her as a threat had lasted long - the kit had no problem with showing off such a vulnerable part of her body. ”It’s scary ‘cause a hawk could get me. How do you not let hawks get you?” There were other things about the moor that spooked the kit. It was a new place for her, something she had never seen before. It was also so open and wide. How did any cat hide? Cotton had to know if she had lived on the moor for her entire life. Cotton also had a home here that she hid in, and speaking of the den.
As Cotton continued to speak, Creamsicle looked up at the den Cotton had brought her to. She had noticed a few of the other chambers as they had made their way down to this particular one; many had been dusted over and looked rather old, but Creamsicle was surprised to see how tidy and decorated this part of the burrow was. Dangling from cobwebs were a variety of different feathers, some bright in color and some dull. A few looked haggard and ready to fall, as if they would break apart if somebody breathed on them wrong. ”Is this all yours?” Creamsicle asked in a breathy voice of awe. She couldn’t imagine having caught all those birds that those feathers had come from. A question then tingled in her mind, sparking a sense of both dread and deep wonder. ”Are there hawk feathers here? What about that one?” Creamsicle pointed toward a bright blue feather. As she had never actually seen a hawk before, she had no idea what color they were supposed to be, but surely a fearsome creature like a hawk would be decorated in an unusual hue.
Her curiosity only grew as Cotton continued speaking, specifically about the stars that painted the sky at night. Memories of their conversation from earlier came back to the kit, about the molly who had eventually found comfort in the stars. ”Can we go and see the stars one day? Maybe when it’s not so cold,” the kit suggested, fluffing her pelt out just at the thought of going back out there with snow falling and temperatures dropping. The last thing she wanted was to leave this warm den and face the elements again. But even this den had its limitations on how warm it could be.
A draft brought forth a surge of cold air that caught Creamsicle off guard. She rolled over and jumped onto her paws, eyes wide and tail sticking straight up in the air in alarm. ”You gotta close it before the snow gets in!” She called out to Cotton as the tabby briefly left to pad up the chamber. Creamsicle pranced around in a circle as she waited, ears pricking forward when Cotton returned, a bushel of dead grasses clasped in her jaws. ”Beat the snow, beat the snow!” Creamsicle chanted, jumping up and down in place as the draft was patched up.
[ honestly i love the sound of cotton’s den. It sounds like such a cozy place for somebody like her and shows her love of the place ;w; ]

Alice »
The winds were becoming harsher with each passing second, yet Alice pushed on, determined to beat the snow and make it back to the barn before she and Binx got trapped. That was the last thing she wanted - not that it was because Binx was a stranger to her or anything, but just because she needed to get back home. Okay, maybe not needed, but she felt responsible for the barn cats. She felt like she was needed there to watch and protect her little family there, and what if something happened while she had been out in the mountains? What if the coming storm had roused something deep inside of them and made them do something absolutely stupid and now they were in trouble? Alice couldn’t help but imagine Leo doing something rashfully stupid in an attempt to impress Lilith; what that molly saw in him, Alice had no idea, but hey, she wasn’t going to intervene in whatever budding romance the two seemed to have. Even still, for as much as she cared about Leo, she would be the first to admit that his ego and pride was much too big for his fluffy body. She then thought to Wonder, hoping that her sister was doing okay in this weather. Ever since the death of their mother and Wonder being the only survival out of her litter, Alice had grown quite protective over her younger sibling, perhaps even to the point of being overbearing. The tortoiseshell recognized that, but she just couldn’t help it. Wonder had been so sick as a kit, that entire litter had been, and when she had been the only kit the twolegs had brought back…well, something had awakened inside Alice, some kind of uncontrollable instinct that was somehow both sisterly and maternal. It was an odd feeling, something that brought shivers down the molly’s body, but she couldn’t just stop feeling that way. Wonder meant a lot to Alice, and if something happened to her while she had been gone…
Alice shook her head. That was the last thing she wanted to think about. Silently she told herself that all her barnmates were okay. All the cats were fine. Wonder was okay, Leo was fine, Lilith was in one piece, Peanut was safe and sound, and Heather was safe from the snow. Nothing had happened to them while she had been out.
These thoughts trickled away just as the winds calmed. The nearby copse was right ahead, the few trees that dappled the moorland catching the wind and giving way for Binx and Alice to catch a momentary break from the winter’s cold breath. The tortoiseshell glanced over her shoulder to take a look at her newfound companion. Binx stood out like a sore thumb in the snow, and Alice was sure she did just as much as well. ”How are you holding up?” She asked with no signs of showing the worry that had transpired in her mind just moments before. On the outside, Alice was just as level and rational as always, and on the inside she was starting to find herself drifting further from those thoughts earlier, but there was still a prick of worry deep down, a feeling of irrational dread that made her want to make it back to the barn as soon as the two mollies possibly could.
Wila »
Wila nodded in understanding. Determined to be as alert as possible, the dark brown molly scoped out the wintery pine forest with narrowed eyes, hoping to find any signs of prey. … Though, she wasn’t exactly sure what she needed to be looking for. Movement was something she needed to keep an eye on, but surely that wasn’t the only thing. Perhaps tracks? Yes, she was sure they would need to look for tracks, and with the fresh snowfall tracks would be easy to decipher. Even if the snow wasn’t all that deep in some places, there were enough patches of it between the pines that tracks would be simple to spot.
While she was confident that she could find traces of prey, she turned to ask Flame if he had any tips from Shadow, but the question fell silent on her tongue when she noticed an odd stiffness in the tom’s movements, a swift glance to a part of the pines that they had never traveled through. Apprehension pricked at Wila’s pelt. Flame’s tension had left his body as quickly as it had arrived, but Wila had noticed it. Something had seemed off about the ginger tom, and while her perception needed to be focusing on prey, that was the last thing on her mind right now as concern began to pool inside her.
”Hey,” she mewed softly, coming over to brush her pelt comfortingly against Flame’s, ”is everything okay? You looked a little tense there.” Wila didn’t think he was nervous to be out in the forest, but she was concerned about him and wanted to know what was up. And if there was anything she could do to help him then she’d do it; afterall, he was helping her by giving her a chance to get out of her twoleg’s den instead of having to put up with Chai for the day, and that was something Wila was extremely grateful for.

Flame Location: Pine Forest With: Wila ( Feathertalon) Wila pressing up against his side pulled him out of his trance, turning to look at her, leaning back against her slightly. "I'm alright.", he said, licking her ear comfortingly. "Just... I don't know.", he murmured, turning to look back towards where he knew the moor was. "It's like... like something is calling me. To the moor.", he said, before he shook his head slightly. They didn't have time to go to the moor, and they were supposed to be looking for prey. Besides, the moor would be even colder, open to the wind and not sheltered like the forest. The thought made him shiver slightly. If whatever this was won out, if he went to the moor... would Wila come with him? He realized now that if he was to ever leave, it would have to be with her. He couldn't imagine not being able to see her when he wanted.

APPLE Location; forest, on the edge of the stream
Apple peers down the crystal waters of the stream as it flows down the shore, glimmering softly below a sheen of winter ice. Droplets of snow shower his thick coat as a breeze blows by and he shakes them out, sighing. Ever since he'd watched his two-legs climb into a monster with his brothers and sisters, he refused to go near the houses, let alone the roads. What if he were to be swallowed up as well? His nose twitches as he feels tears well, but his crying has been long spent, and he has no more tears to spare. Instead, he points his muzzle to the ground and takes to quietly sniffling as he wonders if his family is really gone, and why he couldn't seem to catch the monster that carried them away, no matter how hard he ran.
After a moment, he decides to lay down in the snow to wallow, as all the misery has made him quite- well, sleepy.
Truthfully, Apple has no idea how to survive on his own in the forest, he'd been a kitty pet since birth, be barely knew his way around catching house mice. So he never even considered the fact that there may be other cats outside, and just wandered down the stream into the forest, hoping that, perhaps, a bowl of kibble would appear on a bush or an easy to reach tree branch. Thankfully, his thick coat kept most of the cold air out, but with prey so sparse this time of year there was little hope of him making it more than a few weeks alone. Not only that, but to any predators just happening to walk by at this very moment, Apple was a big orange blob that stuck out in the white snow like a sore thumb, that is to say, stealth is as much his strength as hunting.
Apple yawns, folding his large tail around himself and drifting off.
