Has anyone had clangen been deleted from their pc thanks to the windows defender? I put for the windows defender to allow clangen to be considered as safe, but I think my pc deleted the entire application. Yeah, windows update nuked .exes you'll have to redownload or unzip the file again. you'll have to go through the windows antivirus and label a folder as an exception, then unpack the zip there. otherwise it'll keep deleting the .exe quicker than you can make the exception. There should be tutorials on the Clangen discord for it lowkey weird that my pokemon roms and stuff didn't get hit |

Okay, I’ll try to do that today. Hopefully it’ll work. Someone told me in the discord server that normally all my clans will be safe & reappear.

Yeah Clan data is stored in roaming data by default so even if you completely remove the game data folder (or manually update the game when the autoupdater doesnt work) all the Clan data is untouched |

I scummed some code to bring a cat back to life, but it appears I messed up somewhere. can't seem to see where I screwed up, but I noticed the validator sees an error that clangen didn't catch onto? unless it's the same error.
I want Fuzzydusk to live.

I want Fuzzydusk to live. Do you have the error message? If the cat isn't a leader, it should be as simple as changing their "dead": true, to "dead": false, and "dead moons" to 0. I haven't done it since the prey update, so idk if they have another variable you have to override, but I don't think so. I don't even think you HAVE to change "dead moons". I think it'll just have them labelled while the cat is alive and still tick the living moons each moon, which is hilarious.  |

I've never had to scum code from a murder, so I've figured that out (moved it to a different moon.) the error is this:  trying to find the files it's mentioning. |

huh that is odd. I've only ever added events, never tried to take them away. I forgot where unrevealed murders are stored, it might be an issue with something lurking there? If that part of the code is resolved first, it might overwrite/revert changes to the cats' history tabs?
also in the Clan directory under history can maybe show where things are going wrong? Sorry, never tried to troubleshoot that specific case.

I was able to remove the event + remove it from the cat's history. But I still have the same problem in the screenshot above.
kinda wondering if I should just undo all that I deleted and see if it'll fix it? I am asking on the clangen discord server, but all of my json is coming back valid.
edit: it's the events file, smh.

Found a loner with the name of "Murder" who died two moons later from a mangled leg, rip.
I find it a bit suspicious (and funny) that an apprentice of mine (Peatspeck) who was stuck in the medicine cat's den for 5 moons with damaged eyes got pregnant the minute she got her warrior name. it's also weird (bc I've never had this happen in this clan) that the father of the kits (Larchfur) and her do not have any romantic feelings for each other. I kept checking her relationships for 5 moons and I didn't think it'd be him, but here we are.

Also funny thing that happened in Lifegen: I was doing tortie/calico run and I had my medicine cat, Honeypelt. She was almost all white, and I was like, "well whatever it says she's a calico" and then I looked at the lifegen achievements and one of them that I had was "Get a wildcard tortie"...
TURNS OUT HONEYPELT WAS GRAY & BLACK WILDCARD TORTIE! (I edited the code to remove the all-white spot)

Man, I remember when I first played Clangen, back in August of 2022. I actually have some screen shots of when I played it back in the olden days, although those are from December of 2022. Now, in May of 2024, I have two different versions of Clangen, and around 5 mods downloaded and 10 more I'm waiting to release lol

It was such a simpler game lol (the backgrounds were white, there were no patrols, the events were basic and the sprites had such more simple designs)

bruh we got 23 kits in the last seven moons make it stoppppp mostly loners just. Joining with kits on moon skips and on border patrols? But three of my own cats had kits and we also found two abandoned kittens....  Next moon skip, my cats find and adopt two more. We are literally a kit dumping ground for the local loners. So many apprentices Amberspeck gets three of them  Amberspeck you have THREE APPRENTICES you can't be having SIX KITTENS!!! |
