Update: Welcome, Brackenfruit! As for the others, they're now Barkpelt, Umberhusk, and Greenchest, as well as Rimebumble and Driftback. Greenchest and Barkpelt also became mentors to Cedarpaw and Alderpaw respectively, who are now Cedarzoom and Alderriver.
2nd update: Brackenfruit died of a claw wound, but not before they had kits with Driftback: Honeykit, Chirpkit, and Wildkit. |

KestrelClan update: There's only fifteen cats in the Clan now, and the latest apprentice, Drizzlepaw was apprentices to the senior warrior Flowerblotch. The thing is, Flowerblotch murdered Drizzlepaw's father Chestnutshade just last moon and it currently says that Flowerblotch "took their own insecurities out on a friend the other day and feels awfully guilty." Yeah, you should! You should, Flowerblotch!
To make things worse for Drizzlepaw, their mother Rainbowears is also a murderer, having killed a cat named Warren Peace.
Speaking of Rainbowears, another of my warriors, Shrikeshade, keeps confessing his keeps for her despite getting rejected each time and being in love with two other warriors, so I'm just here hoping they'd be like Elsa and let it go!

Drizzletail, no! And they were apparently disliked by quite a few cats too, including the deputy, who is also Flowerblotch's brother! Other suspects include another of Flowerblotch's brothers called Flipfur, a former rogue named Martini, Shrikeshade, and Drizzletail's own brother Mouseglint, who disliked Drizzletail the most.

Shrikeshade's persistence finally paid off I guess, because now he and Rainbowears are mates!
And KestrelClan has no medicine cat now. RIP Pondsmoke.
Shrikeshade was murdered and the elderly Flowerblotch might've been the killer. And just when she's expecting kits, too!
A few timeskips later, Flowerblotch and Rainbowears became mates and Flower quickly started expecting kits, only for them to break up the same moon (nvm, they're kits were just born and they're back together now). Also, the deputy Plovershade was murdered and Skunkstar chose her mate Raindream as the next deputy.
"Lilacspeckle tries to convince Elkcrackle to run away with them." Lilacspeckle, that is your sibling's mate! To make things more dramatic, yes, Lilacspeckle does indeed have romantic feelings for Elkcrackle, who reciprocates. Poor Nimblepatch! I also have the affair setting on, so we'll see where this goes!
Okay, so Flowerblotch and Rainbowears' kit Turtlepaw stepped up to become the new medicine cat, Lilacspeckle found love with Raindream.... and Elkcrackle got pregnant the same moon. And he and Nimblepatch broke up. Oh, okay, apparently Nimblepatch is the parent! I was so scared there for a second!
Drizzletail's murderer has finally been revealed, it was indeed Mouseglint! Your own brother! How could you! Also, Mouseglint was found dead the next moon, so... to the Dark Forest with you!
Okay, Rainbowears must be a very attractive cat because she's now on her fourth mate. Well, it does say she's charismatic, so... And a moon after her youngest son Conepaw becomes an apprentice, she dies of old age.

So Elkcrackle may not be a cheater, but they are a murderer, having killed Coneshade... who Lilacspeckle also hated. Okay. The medicine cat Cedarshade was also murdered and he was also disliked by Elkcrackle and Lilacspeckle, but was murdered by Elkcrackle's second mate Baydapple.
The Clan is also so related to each other that, not counting cats who already have mates (and even then, it's not much), the only cats Nimblepatch's daughter Valleywisp can become mates with are Rainswan or his sibling Turtleshade.
New blood! Prim, Entropydawn, join us! And nvm, Entropydawn went missing at night, along with Valleywisp, Walnut, Rookrock (this one hurts the most) Darkkit, Beechkit, Charles, Pheasantmuzzle. Only one kit remains, Mintkit, who was nearly taken by a hawk until he was saved by the deputy Baydapple.
Lilacspeckle became mates with Primrosestar and almost immediately had her kits. A loner named Fluffyfur also joined!
I'm so used to affairs happening in LifeGen that I was just waiting for something like "Lilacspeckle's kits look suspiciously like Elkcrackle," only for him to die from a snake after saving a kit, of which only Lilacspeckle's are in the nursery. A fitting end, I should say.

how many moons are you into that run? 𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵also I'm kinda looking to do a challenge run any suggestions? I'm part of the discord but none of those really catch my eye usually, they're all just... Clan, but it's a cult! Clan, but roll to kill half your cats every 10 moons! and those don't really appeal to me tbh KestrelClan is currently 2317 moons in! Also, I totally get what you mean with the challenges! I've seen a few on YouTube that look pretty fun, but don't really appeal to me, either. I'm considering of doing one where I basically exile a murderer and their entire immediate family up to their grandkits and see how long the Clan lasts afterwards, all while proceeding or antagonizing each time there's a rogue encounter after the first murder. I don't even know if this is an actual challenge, btw, it's just something I wanted to do on the spot. |

I never get murders ;-; Thanks! And I'm almost jealous! Usually, my cats won't stop murdering each other left and right lol! Do you at least ever get the prompt that a cat is having an affair? If it's easier, you can extend it to that. Just apply it to the cheater, their paramour, and their kits. Or mix it up a bit and have it depend on what you think your leader's sense of justice is. So like, if a cat was even just caught breaking the warrior code in general with nothing specific to it, you can exile them, along with anyone they were close to (family, best friend, etc...). If they had half-Clan kits, you can exile the family and whichever Clan you encounter next will be the one they joined afterwards and have hostile relations with that Clan from then on. Basically, feel free to be flexible about it if murders are rare for you. The point is more so to have a tyrannical leader and see how long the Clan survives under their rule. And right as I was typing, Filtbeak was murdered on the same moon he and Lightningblotch broke up, and the culprit might've been Elmstar... whose mate is Jaybriar. The leader and deputy. It's only been seven moons, guys! You couldn't have even waited a year first? |

94 moons later, another murder! This time, Dashacorn, Elmstar and Jaybriar's daughter. Berryfoot might be the culprit.
100: Mossdance was murdered; suspect is Cottonwatcher
106: Prancefoot was murdered!
115: Cottonwatcher confessed to killing Mossdance; they don't have a mate or kits, so they're the only ones to be exiled.
118: Elmstar died and Filtbeak's murder is still unsolved!
155: And just when I was wondering whether I should readjust the rules for myself, I get finally get another murder, and better yet, the culprit is known right off the bat! Grayblotch, murdered by Beeshadow, who has kits, one of whom is the second leader, Maplestar. I also went from having two pages worth of cats in just a few moons to only having twelve.

Update: Forestash's murderer is unknown, but Birchspots was killed moons later by Hemlocksilk, the medicine cat (how fitting). Luckily, she has an apprentice.
Frozenstripe was murdered and the suspect is Thymestar.
Oakmouse was murdered; suspect is Stemfern
Butterflyblossom was murdered; suspect is Fuzzstar.
Dartcloud confessed to Oakmouse's murder in her sleep.
Coniferecho was murdered; suspect is Thunder nettle
Thundernettle confessed to their mate Briarfreckle (the current deputy, btw) that he killed Coniferecho, so both them and their kits were exiled.
And at 483 moons, I finally get my first cats killed by rogues specifically on a patrol (Paloma and Daisypaw); in this case, they were Thundernettle and his son Ripplepaw.
Ripplepaw died a good while ago, but his murderer of a father clung onto life until just now, dying at 182 moons.
And with the last murderer now dead, now seems like a good opportunity to start over and set harsher conditions, so affairs or just any breaking of the warrior code in general, even something as minor as coming back with a collar or touching noses with an outsider.

26 moons in, Rindleroar is the first to be exiled for playing with a kittypet.
31 moons: Daisystar touched noses with a rogue.
36 moons: Oddwillow, same as Daisystar
39 moons: Goldseeker, for having a half-Clan kit.
40 moons: Mumblestar and Wolfpelt, for becoming mates and having kits; they were actually already mates, I just hadn't noticed until Wolfpelt became pregnant. I exiled their adopted kits as well and any mates and kits they had in turn, leaving Greenflower the only Clan founder and member. Let's see how long you last.
Not very long. 45 moons in, Greenflower died to a bite wound from a small dog. And so ends the tale of the very strict BriarClan.

I tried the super strict Clan and my goal was simply to survive until moon 100. I won that, then continued on and got a non-evil cat as leader on moon 114, breaking the cycle. Longform notes on my Clangen run thread |

I'm trying a super friendly Clan that is welcoming of all outsiders in 18 moons I've taken in 8 outsiders and 7 kits (4 outsiders didn't make it through their injuries; my healer was killed by a badger attack on like, moon 5) The queen ended up having my new medicine cat + two beautiful torties |
