"Not how he would have handled it, but she did have a way with words. A way that might lead to a dagger in the side..." (I love that statement.)

mintedstar/fur Auransky Patrick blinked a few times, then dipped his head slightly, glancing over at Lupin. "Yeah, I'm sure we can do that. As soon as we've finished, I guess we'll meet you back here so we can finish this up," he muttered, looking over at the knight, then slowly began walking away. "C'mon Lupin! We need to find the rocks now!" broken AuranskyLupin looked over at Patrick and nodded. "Alright. You'll have to show me." He set down what he was carrying and turned away from it, padding on quiet feet after Patrick. After a second, he asked, "How did you become acquainted with Glen and Coire?" There was a silent question there as well. 'And why? Why do you help them?'

mintedstar/fur Coire was taken aback by her comments, but he kept a straight face. It would be a sign of disrespect to fire back towards the suspicious comment. But then again, the actions from earlier was perhaps all of that if not more. On the other hand he couldn't help but briefly glimpse at the two men on the floor. When asked about his wereabouts he crossed his arms, then shrugged. "Well forgive me for sounding very pessimistic, but I was on my way home." He replied directly. "At the end of the day even shop owners must resume the trip home. I unlike the majority of people do not live within the castle walls. I live quite a bit ways away from the safety walls." He shifted his foot along the ground, "I still have a ways to go. What I wasn't expecting was someone on this end. For the same reason I live in this direction sway from all travel paths typically taken by both royal and common people." "But then again.." he bit his lowerlip, "Now that you mention this forest in such a way, I guess you have a point." He looked down to shake his head, "But hey, I get the peace and tranquility....typically..." He tried to look on the bright side. Get me out of here... anything please...

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 AuranskyLin blinked at him. Well, she wasn't sure what else she was supposed to say to him. Though she didn't know what she was missing, she still knew there was something there. Something that she didn't know about, but should. Lin backed up a few steps, looking between the angel and the blacksmith. Well then... "Typically was not tonight. But I still wonder how you and you alone seem to attract so much unwanted attention. Is there a reason for that? A reason I should know?" She sheathed her knifes after whipping them with a cloth she had in one of her pockets. "Because I do not believe I can bail you out for much longer."

mintedstar/furRussell only grinned at the mention of him being his son. It would honestly be a complicated story, so he just nodded. Then, as she looked back a ton him, he seemed to freeze a little. The question just seemed to come out of no where, though it wasn’t unusual. “I’m a doctor,” he replied, looking down at something similar to a lab coat. “If this didn’t give it away.” He chuckled softly, then pointed down the street. “Anyway, are our ready to go?” — Mint, Auransky“Oh.” Patrick blinked a few times at the spsudden question. The teenager glanced back, making sure tephey were out of earshot before looking over at Lupin again. “I met Glen when I was heading to the blacksmiths one day, and that’s where I met Coire. It’s not really that much of a story, but we talked for a bit and they told me I can stay with them whenever.” He glanced forward again, frowning a bit. “Do you have a problem with them?”

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 mintedstar/fur Coire pointed towards the knocked out men, "These individuals here were highly paid by the tax payer from earlier. It is an assumption, but I base my facts on previous acts to fellow shop keepers throughout Nolyra. In the last two years alone, I have seen shops suffer, and close because of one bad day with the collector. They don't actually kill you-well at least no one who has been attacked by the collector's payed mercenaries. But good folk have been crippled for life in response to a bad encounter with tax collectors. it leaves them unable to work, therefore quality drops, and eventually the shop drops." He stopped taking in a deep breath, "Again, based on what I have herd from fellow keepers. They talk of who commits the crime, and point to the same groups. But no one believes them, because of the sorrowful corrupt day we live upon." "But you are right, you cannot bail me much longer. It is no place for someone as yourself, to waste such time with myself. But i do fear that if the tax collector strikes, I may be forced to retaliate against him. I will not stand and allow myself to be hurt because of one bad day. But I also hate violence, and therefore it tears me to simply speak of what I may potentially commit to as self defense." He shook his head now, "At the end of the day; it will be I who is in trouble. To cross paths with someone of higher status such as a tax collector, can be manipulated into a crime." He turned now, in the original direction he was walking towards. He extended a hand outward, "I must be going, I needn't worry anyone much longer. But I also invite you and your knight to dinner should you please. It will not be much, but it is in the least, something for all this mayhem of today." He stated. ((I'll jump Glen back into the story shortly))

"I still need to find this man." She didn't comment on the doctor part. She didn't believe in judging things by appearance. She'd donned the clothes on a servant too many times to consider someone's profession by the clothes they wore. She blinked at him, waiting for him to take the lead, but not actually verbally stating her wishes. -- Broken and Auransky"No," answered Lupin simply. "I have no problem with them as of yet, but then, I haven't known them for long. We'll see what sort of opinion I'll form when I have worked with them longer." But he did consider what Patrick said, because it gave him further information on Glen and Coire. He asked, however, "Rocks?" He waved around, allowing Patrick figure out whether the ones they could see around were good enough.

Auransky 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Lin looked at him in exasperation. Honestly, this guy seemed hard to deal with. Sure, his position was interesting to hear about. She could understand that part. Yet things still bugged her. Nagging at the back of her brain. She really was missing things here. She looked at 'her knight' and raised an eyebrow. Well, she wanted answers to the unnameable, nagging thoughts, to see if her gut instincts were worth anything. "Alright," she said to Coire, looking back. "I'll take you up on the offer. We're far enough away from our original destination that going more out of our way will not cause any problems." She said this, straightening, and looking Coire in the eye with the sort of expression that said she wasn't really interested in eating and was far more interested in grilling him for more information. It was an unnerving look. (Honestly, when I first started RPing here, I had no idea she would act like this.)

((EYyyyyyy Stressing over upcoming finals. Major delays coming your way)) mintedstar/fur 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛The blacksmith kept his posture, royalty or not there was one thing he would never do, and that would be; backing off his word. He was indeed going home, and he invited them to dinner. Whether they wanted to believe him, accompany him, or arrest him, he wouldn't fight but he would keep his head high. Least till someone breaks his neck... When the princess accepted the offer for dinner, he bowed his head in respect, "I will apologize ahead of time. I'm not certain what is for dinner, but it certainly will be something." He assured, then turned for his original direction from before. He began walking, despite it being dark, it was the same path he had walked many times before. We should be there in a matter of minutes... I simply hope that whatever Glen was up to, is now out of sight...broken MintGlen had taken the chance to slip off into the house and clean up a little, so he could prepare something quickly for dinner. There was still some meat that was preserved from the prior day. Alongside fresh eggs, plants, and juice that had been pruned earlier that day. A few ingreediants could be reused, and he could quickly obtain the vegitables from the yard. He started setting everything up, then paused when realizing he needed some firewood. He raced out of the house, calling out loudly along the clearing, "Patrick, Lupin if you have the chance get some firewood, then come on in a wash up." Glen called out quickly. With that he returned inside, and proceeded to invade the kitchen.

mintedstar/furRussell blinked a few times, standing there in silence for a moment. Mostly because he had no idea what she wanted. Then, he nodded and began walking, glancing back to make sure she was following. “Is there any particular reason why you need to find this man? Is he a friend of yours?” — Auransky Mint Patrick only shrugged st his first statement. “Well I sure do hope that you will like them! They’re nice friends to have!” The teenager said with a grin, then glanced around them. “Ah yes, rocks...” he began picking up a few, but froze once he heard Glen yell out to them. “And firewood’s I guess. Hey, would you mind getting the wood and i can get some rocks?” He looked at Lupin.

Arai would have prefered they head back to the castle, but seeing that she wasn't going to budge he followed. He wanted to say something about the whole trouble, but at this point he had just decided to assume the position of a body guard. Arai would go where she wanted for now. It was getting darker anyways. Best to get inside before more bandits come out.

broken"Friend?" asked Aliissa, tilting her head. She thought about it for a second. She settled on, "He is someone I know well and need to find. He's...gotten himself into trouble again." She made little attempt to keep the iciness out of her voice. But it was always there, so she doubted it would be noticed. "I need to find him because he's the one who started some of the fires." She was blunt and to the point. And that was also all she said. — Auransky broken Lupin nodded. "Alright, I can do that." He turned away from Patrick, casting a look back in the direction of Glen's voice. It seemed like he was invited in, though he had little interest in actually eating. He was better at finding firewood than he was at rocks. He'd had to find firewood in the past and knew what to look for. Pretty soon he had a good pile and he walked back with it to where Glen had last been.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 AuranskyLin followed after the blacksmith with no more talk, nor did she look at Arai or Coire. It seemed like she was cutting herself off from communications. Five minutes later, she finally said, "I don't care what the food is, so it doesn't matter." The problem was...she had questions, but they had yet to take a physical form. If only she could somehow figure out what was bothering her, maybe she could just let it go. "Arai," she said, slowing her pace down so she could walk next to him. "What are you thinking?" Like she cared.

"His actions don't seem to match up." the knight replied, thinking carefully "I would say he is either hiding something, or is very airheaded. Anyone who is like that though, would not have lasted this long." he had thought the others actions were strange. But they had no proof to put against his word. They had no choice but to believe him until new evidence was found.

mintedstar/fur 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛Coire had fallen silent as he walked through the woods, with the two unique guests following. It was interesting, yet bad. Bad for many reasons-especially after this mornings encounter at the shop. Then there was his brother-his brother's actions.. Acting or not... that was still off.. He considered to himself, occasionally placing a hand against the tree bark, on several trees he approached. Perhaps out of normality, but it was his way of recalling the way home. While he was most comfortable with his walk home, he was a bit nervous, therefore using a few hidden carved markings along the bark that helped indicate he was going in the right direction. Now I'm nervous... Great... I haven't had to have done this since I was a kid... He ranted in his thoughts. mintedstar/fur brokenGlen was working around the kitchen, while recycling some meals he was adding more things to make the food appear like he had taken a great deal of time to cook. It was mainly for Coire's sake, who scolds him. That way I avoid it, and we just eat and try to shrug off today's events... He considered. Then we need to consider moving these gems far away in the morning... maybe we could use the family cottage? It hasn't been touched in ages, but it is out of the kingdoms reach- He paused seeing Lupin comming in with the firewood. He smiled waving then pointed over to the firepit on the side, "There works fine." he advised."Afterwords feel free to clean up. Same thing for Patrick"

Auransky 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛"What I was thinking," said Lin, nodding. She jumped over a rotting tree branch, landing lightly on the other side. She watched Coire as he walked, studying his movement. As Arai said, it was doubtful that he could have survived had he been that airheaded. So she was now almost convinced he was hiding something. She walked after him, eyes picking out the path he wove through the woods. She didn't know how long it would take to reach their destination, but hopefully it would be soon. Auransky brokenI think I've been appointed the maid, thought Lupin. Not like he cared. He'd been in all sorts of jobs before. He nodded at Glen, stretching out his arms to get all the kinks out after he'd set down the wood where he had been indicated to. "Okay," he said to Glen and then went off to clean up.

Percival just...ended up places. Whether fire followed or not was completely up to him. And, it seemed, random. Aliissa couldn't predict it. "No," she answered. "If I knew 'why', I would find this easier. He might just find it entertaining, but I couldn't be sure. It seems far to likely that there is another reason. But I have rarely gotten close enough to ask." She sighed, walking cane pausing on the cobbles. "And you? Have you heard anything about the fires?"

mintedstar/fur“I’m sorry, I just had to ask,” Russell muttered, looking away from her for a moment, though he still kept pace with her. He wasn’t really sure what else to say about that. He was still skeptical about this whole thing. Should he even be helping her try to find this person? Something seemed... off. “Uh no, I haven’t heard anything about he fires. brokenAliissa sighed, but it wasn't like the knowledge couldn't be gleamed by anyone who actually tried. "The fires aren't started on any particular day. No one is ever killed by the fires, at least, not that I've been told. The most recent fire might change that. The properties that were set on fire have no particular pattern in that they can be owned by the poor or the rich." She turned to look back at Russell, pausing. The click of the cane stopped and she turned to face him. "Is something troubling you?"

mintedstar/furRussell listened carefully as she explained the case. Still skeptical, he stared at her, nodding slightly. If the fires were a big deal, why did he not know about them? Was the kingdom cover up, or was she making this information up? He shook his head- that couldn’t be it, this was a believeable story. “Hm?” He hummed as she turned to look at him. The angel nodded slightly, ridding a hand through his hair. “Actually there is. I’m not sure about this. I’ve never heard of any of this, and it’s all of a sudden.”

brokenAliissa looked at him, eyes steady and gaze unbreaking. Finally, she said, possibly a little scathingly. "Most of the fires were not started in this kingdom. He does well about covering them up. An abandon building in fire season...not unusual. You would have heard about the most recent fires? The two they had yesterday, where buildings over two blocks apart caught fire?" She took a few measure, uneven steps toward Russell and said, "And even if attention were ever drawn to him, what possible reason would a noble start fires for?"

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 mintedstar/fur The house was up ahead, lit up by the candles that hung along the side of the house. There was also the few windows that had not been shut completely by the curtains that illuminted a light glow from within the rooms. Coire felt a bit more relieved to have reach the house, but he also was expecting a grand spanking of yelling and screaming from Glen. Speaking of Glen, he was rather off today. TOo off from his normal off. Was it work, stress, or the fact that the princess is literally tailing on them? Nonetheless, he stopped at the front door, and was slightly surprised to find the door unlocked. Nonetheless he calmly smiled opening the door then waved to invite the two guests in, "Please come in the living quarters is on the left." He stated. Already feeling his brother's blood boil... Mint broken ((Either can see the princess and knight walk in through the front door via the hall, or through a different room etc)) Glen paused his rushing to reply to Patrick, "Firewood goes in the cabinet door below the clay oven." he added. "Everything else goes on the counter-" He paused entirely now , "Wait I asked for more things?" he asked himself out loud unsure about it. He had been running nonestop for three days straight, something was clearly lagging. He waved to patrick, "If I asked for anything else just put it on the counter. Lastly there's the shelve behind you, grab the plates and silverware and set up the table in the enxt room. After use the wash room to wash up."

Auransky broken 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛Lin walked into the house behind their guard, not looking at the knight beside her. Not much anyway. She was always puzzled about what he was thinking. Lupin had washed up, as he'd been told, and had actually been in the hall when the door opened and he noticed who came in. Being in another's house, very clearly Glen's and his brother's, it felt slightly awkward as he wasn't very sure where he should be standing. But it became even more awkward as he noticed who else came in and he visibly took a step back. Gah. Not the angel, was his first thought. But it hurriedly became, 'why are they here?' Lin blinked at Lupin, who was just standing in the middle of the hallway. She just raised her eyebrows at him.
