Willows. Large, strong, ancient. One look at the gnarled bark of a willow tree and you know you're in the presence of something powerful, something that holds more connection to the elements than you could ever dream. And yet with that power, there is a sense of mystery and beauty. The mighty willow stands stronger than us all for the multitude of roots creating its firm foundation, and its drooping leaves provide cover for whatever secrets lie within.

The cats that inhabit the Willow Forest are just as beautiful and just as dangerous. Some have flame flickering from their paws. Others seem to make the earth tremble. You can see tendrils of willow leaves with a small wooden icon around each of their necks. Occasionally, you'll notice their fur appears to have been painted in many colors with berries. Some are even stranger still, with powers even the others don't seem to possess...

And yet in all of this, they are one. They are a family, strictly bound together by their heritage and moral code. They lay down their lives for each other, go on harrowing journeys together, and offer their only scraps of food to the weakest members among them in a show of respect and solidarity. They provide beauty to the forest... but they can also destroy at a moment's notice.

Welcome to Willowclan, a unique clan roleplay.

[[DISCLAIMER: I would like to begin by stating that yes, I love to write. A little too much. So I know this clan page is very information heavy. The clan is unique, and that can be daunting if you just want to start roleplaying quickly. But I promise, if you need the sparknotes, I've got you. If you're interested in joining and are struggling to read this all, go ahead and join and ask questions along the way. I'll give you the highlights of what you need to get started and I promise I'll never get impatient.

That being said, Willowclan is a plot-based roleplay that offers a Warriors-like clan experience with several non-canon unique features. In this RP, cats [as well as other predatory animals when specified by me] are born with one of the four elemental powers [Air, Fire, Water, Earth]. You can expect to be able to roleplay unique fights, trainings, and experiences with this feature, while staying limited to a list of power rules and regulations outlined below to maintain RP balance. Enjoy roleplaying your cat as they grow in their powers and learn to wield them for good... or for evil.
For some cats, their powers do not stop at their birth-element. This land was formed in such a way by the Divine Ancestors that unique powers often pooled into one spot, creating a PowerStone. PowerStones are scattered throughout the realm, and occasionally cats are blessed enough to be given a quest by StarClan to find one... or, very rarely, can stumble across one on accident. You can expect to be able to roleplay your cat as they go on a mission with a few of their friends [or enemies] to claim a unique PowerStone for themself. You can also expect to see how these unique powers give some cats an advantage in battles over their Elemental-Only peers. Of course, this can lead to power struggles and tyrants, which may also lead to some intriguing roleplay.
Another unique aspect of Willowclan lies in their traditions. Willowclan cats share many festivals and ceremonies that other clans do not, and to roleplay in Willowclan , one needs to learn to become familiar with them, as they will often be an integral part of our plot at any given moment. Examples include totem bestowal, trials, quests, and festivals. Willowclan operates on a continuous timeline, and you can expect for your character to get the chance to join in these fun and exciting traditions from time to time. I will announce as time progresses in-rp, but you can expect to see an in-rp moon pass every OOC week, unless otherwise stated. That means, you can roughly plan on your cat progressing from newborn kit to warrior after three months OOC, and can expect to have a wide range of festivals celebrated during that time. These time shifts are subject to change based on majority roleplayer activity.
Bearing this in mind, I believe it is also important to emphasize that Willowclan is plot based. There will be plenty of time to roleplay your character at your own pace, to form friendships, and to explore your own plots. However, I [Blue] have many plot ideas up my sleeve and will be gently pushing the clan roleplay in different directions to ensure a constantly moving, exciting roleplay. I am looking for my fellow RPers to be as active as you are realistically able to and stay up to date with plot points. The more engaged you are with this roleplay, the more I will choose your cats for fun plots and powers! But don't worry, I will never get tired of answering any questions you have to ensure you're as integrated as possible, and promise leniency when life gets in the way. I want us all to just have fun together!
If you are interested in joining, I plead for you to just try us! No matter our page count or the intricacy of the plot, I will do whatever I can to get you up to date and involved. This roleplay, above all, should strive to be a warm and inviting community. So feel free to reach out, ask a question, or just chat with us. She has relentlessly claimed more and more territory from Willowclan, leading to countless battles and bloodshed. Ryestar, Willowclan's leader, is at a crossroads. Should they retaliate, perhaps shedding more Willowclan blood in the process? Or should they hope that the latest attacks were Ivyclan's last?

T R A D I T I O N S

^{Birth-Element:} All cats in this realm, clanborn or not, are born with one of the four elemental powers- Earth, Fire, Water, or Air. The elements are bestowed by Starclan upon birth, regardless of the powers their parents or former family had. It's not unusual to have multiple powers in a litter, or a litter of all similar powers. Kits usually begin to show some rudimentary signs of which element they've been born with soon after their birth, at which time many mothers give the kits their names. When all the kits in the litter have shown what element they possess, the kit-mother is to report to the clan leader the information. That night, at sundown, the clan leader will pick each kit up by the scruff in turn and announce their power to the clan. The clan cats below that have a similar base elemental power then will chant that element. Example: Leader- "Bluekit, water elemental!" Water elemental cats, chanting- "Water! Water! Water!" Cats are almost always mentored by a cat with a similar elemental power to ensure they learn the full range of their abilities.
^{Totem Bestowal:} When a cat is apprenticed, they receive a totem. This totem is drawn up from a pool in the middle of camp by the medicine cat and given to the apprentice to wear around their neck with a dried ivy tendril. The totem is a carved wooden animal, representative of the cat's personality, and like many things, is chosen and crafted by Starclan. This necklace provides a conduit to further a kit's powers, and should be guarded and worn at all times. Totem-wearing cats have an advantage over non totem wearers, and therefore the totems are often targeted during battle. Totems are elemental proof and cannot be destroyed, but they can be lost. Further, totems only act as a conduit to the cat they are assigned to. Therefore, if a cat removes another's totem in battle, it weakens the other cat who lost it, but it does not make the cat who gained it more powerful. When a cat dies, it is tradition to bury their totem with them.

^{The Trial of the Warrior:} Apprentices who are ready to receive their warrior names must undergo the Trial of the Warrior. In this trial, an apprentice is shadowed by their mentor and the clan leader or deputy as they prove their skills. The trial is multi-part. First, an apprentice must first catch an assigned number of prey (anywhere from 1 to 3 depending on season). Then, they undergo a dexterity trial- usually climbing, racing, or leaping. Finally, they must fight a warrior from each element in succession. Warriors are not to use any other abilities besides their elemental powers in this battle. Should an apprentice prove satisfactory in all of these categories by both the mentor and leader/deputy's standards, they are then able to receive their warrior name.

^Nestmaking: Cats of Willowclan tend to sleep in nests depending on their birth element. Fire and earth cats often have bracken mixed with stone, water and air cats tend to have moss and bracken nests. Whatever nest you have cats will often personalize their nests with various objects that either hold significance or beauty to them. Examples can include a cat adding flowers to their nest for visual appeal, stones to their nest that a mate gave them, or feathers to their nest for comfort. When bored, some cats go looking for items that appeal to them that they can add to their nests. Cats take their items with them when they change dens. Many times mates will converge their nests into a large singular nests filled with mementos special to them.

^{Day of Competition:} While apprentices busy themselves to prepare for their trial, warriors gather on the days surrounding the second full moon of Greenleaf to engage in the day of competition. These are friendly competitions of hunting, dexterity, fighting, or any other competition the cats desire to engage in. Safety must always be taken into account though, of course. Seriously injuring another cat on this day is not allowed. Victors of the chosen competition are given a piece of fresh kill by their losing competitor.

^{The Day of Dancing Colors:} On the second full moon of Leaffall, cats gather in camp to engage in the day of dancing colors. On the days leading up to this day, cats gather blackberries, raspberries, and flower petals of multiple colors before they die due to cold, and mash them up to create dyes. The cats then smear the dyes on their fur, and participate in a day of feasting, dancing, creating beauty through their elemental powers, and storytelling. It is a jovial celebration well loved by many clan cats.

^{Appointing of Ranks:}Medicine cat apprentices are much like canon. They are appointed by Starclan and receive their full name when their mentor believes it is time. The apprentice who has been in training longest becomes the lead medicine cat when the lead medicine cat passes. Deputies are chosen by a casting of stones. Cats who want to be considered for deputy make their name known to the leader, and the leader is to present all desiring cats to the clan before a day has passed following the previous deputies death. The clan medicine cat digs shallow holes that correspond to the number of nominees and label each hole with a symbol of the cat it represents. Each warrior, elder, current deputy, or leader then lays a pebble down in the hole of the cat they wish to win the title of deputy. They each take turns so that the medicine cat is the only one who sees the votes. Then, the medicine cat tallies the votes and announces the new deputy. Should a leader lose all nine lives, leadership is given to the cat who has been deputy longest.

^Quests: Occasionally, Starclan will be guided by the Divine Ancestors towards the location of a PowerStone. When this happens, they will communicate to the Medicine Cat the information they know and which cat they believe should lead the quest, often in the form of a prophecy. This cat then is assigned two fellow questmates to go with them by the leader, but the leader's choice is often influenced by the chosen cat's preferences. Quests can take days to moons to accomplish, but are usually rewarded with a PowerStone to the chosen cat, and honor to the cats who accompany him or her.

^{Death Rites:} Cats of Willowclan mourn their dead much like canon warrior cats. They hold a vigil the night of, usually touching noses to the deceased's body, mourning in silence. The cat is then buried the next morning with their totem. Earth elementals often will grow flowers across the grave.

G U I D E T O E L E M E N T A L P O W E R S

This is a quick reference guide to powers you cat can have with their Birth Element. These rules only exist to keep from any fight being imbalanced due to overpowering a particular roleplayer, but if everyone attempts to roleplay realistically and fairly, then you can use this more as a loose outline of what capabilities your cat has. Each individual cat may be slightly stronger or weaker in their powers depending on how often they train and what their real world experiences are. The ages listed are for cats undergoing traditional warrior training, but rogues, cats held back from training, or cats who are lazier may not achieve these abilities just because they are the age listed. Likewise, apprentices can be in the process of 'learning' the skills listed for young warriors and may be able to produce some of those powers shakily. And furthermore, your apprentice who just became a warrior doesn't 'magically' gain these new powers- all powers need to be practiced and should scale to your own cat's age and ability. They won't have it down the first time they use it! Just remember, not everyone's cat is amazingly super special and OP. Play fair, and it'll make for a much more fun RP.
That being said, feel free to play around with different moves and create your own not in this list, and I might just add it to the list for others to see as well! But if you're worried a particular move will sway the battle too far in your favor, run it by me or your fellow RPer first. In most battles, the cat with more experience will win no matter the moves used, just like in the real warriors cat world, unless they're otherwise augmented with PowerStones.
Any fighting move a cat makes with its powers will drain their stamina. The more powerful the move, the more tired they will become. So don't expect to be able to spam the most powerful moves just because you have a senior warrior! Usually, a cat will only be able to use a large move like that once a battle, if at all. Smaller moves such as those learned as an apprentice can be used several times in a single battle. Use your common sense!

And remember, a cat focuses their powers through their totem, so if that should be removed (which is difficult, but can happen), your cat will be weakened. Be sure to run that by your fellow RPer as well. More than anything, when in doubt, ask!

Unique situations that increase your cat's particular ability:

-Water elementals can pull water out of a stream at a certain age, but can also 'materialize' water when there is no obvious source of water by using water in the air. However, pulling water from nearby sources or from the air when raining will take less effort, and therefore will make the move stronger. IE: Water elementals will naturally be stronger when close to bodies of water, mud, or when it is raining. Water elementals will be weakened when the land is experiencing a drought, in forests that have previously been burned, or when surrounded by rocks such as mountains.

-Air elementals are often the most balanced- while slightly trickier to have an advantage, they also rarely have disadvantages. Air elementals will tend to be stronger when up higher, such as in a mountain, and will be weaker in places where the air is limited, such as in an underground cave. They also thrive on days that are windy, or on dry days with low humidity. They tend to be slightly stronger on open moorlands than they are in dense forests.

-Fire elementals tend to be the strongest when it comes to brute strength, but have many disadvantages. They tend to be in full power when the sun is able to blaze the strongest, such as in Greenleaf and parts of Newleaf. Overcast days, however, can weaken them slightly, as can being close to a body of water, boglands, etc that causes an increase in humidity in the air. They get quick surges of strength when lightning strikes, but that is quickly dampened afterward by the surrounding rain, making storm battles difficult. They thrive in places where kindling is plenty, such as hay fields, burnt trees, and drought conditions.

-Earth elementals are highly defensive, and thrive in areas with malleable soil. They tend to struggle more when the ground is wet such as mud or when there is heavy rain, and inexperienced warriors are unable to work with stone and rock. However, older earth warriors are able to manipulate chunks of stones from mountains, caves, and rocky ground. Their power is often the most consistent, as the land of Willowclan is in high supply of malleable soil and stone.

Read below to find general examples of the types of powers your cat can display at different ages. Cats who train more may be able to produce stronger powers, but your cat should not be able to 'skip' to another age range of powers without permission. Feel free however to come up with powers that seem equal to your cat's skill level.

Final special consideration: If you have a character who is a rogue or medicine cat, it is highly unlikely that your character will be masters of their powers, regardless of age. These cats do not train as much as a standard warrior going through clan training. Any rogue, unless they battle frequently, will not be as strong as a warrior who is their peer. Most all medicine cats will be around an apprentices level of power, regardless of their actual age.

Kit Powers: [0-6 Moons]

Water: Conjure a short, weak spray of water. Sneeze a cloud of mist. Make ripples in an already existing pool of water.

Fire: Conjure short, weak sparks, (not enough to catch fire). Sneeze smoke. Produce a small amount of warmth through body heat.

Air: Conjure short, weak gusts of wind. Cool an area by increasing wind flow. Lift small pebbles, leaves, etc through wind.

Earth: Conjure small, weak shifts of the ground. Manipulate small handfuls of earth. Are more grounded and surefooted than other kits.

Apprentice Powers: [6-12 Moons]

Water: Produce small to medium waves in existing bodies of water. Conjure a solid spray of water. Manipulate rain that is currently falling to avoid or target an area in small bursts. Breathe for longer periods than usual underwater. Dry small patches of ground by pulling water from mud. Cause a small flurry of snowflakes.

Fire: Has fireproof fur and skin. Can create a wall of smoke to reduce enemies accuracy. Can claw with superheated claws. Can produce small amounts of fire offensively.

Air: Can blast small amounts of air offensively. Can leap further and higher than other elementals. Slightly faster than other elementals. Can move small objects through air control.

Earth: Thickened skin compared to other elementals. Can produce small blasts of earth. Can create small walls of earth for protection. Can produce small quakes in ground.

Young Warrior Powers: [12-50 Moons]

Water: Cause decent amounts of rain. Freeze existing bodies of water, turn existing rain to snow or small chunks of hail. Conjure blasts of water. Occasionally conjure blasts of ice. Produce large waves in existing sources of water. Breathe for a significant amount of time underwater.

Fire: Can create a fire wall for defense against another. Can cause targeted fireballs. Can manipulate heat to uncomfortable temperatures. Can manipulate any existing fire. Can breathe out large plumes of fire.

Air: Can run faster and dodge better than other elementals. Can slice with blades of air current. Can 'ride' on blasts of air to skim through the air, low and close to the earth.

Earth: Can produce blasts of stone. Can create small walls of stone for protection. Can produce small earthquakes and small seismic cracks in ground.

Senior Warrior Powers: [50-100 Moons]

Water: Cause torrential downpours of rain. Cause decent amount of hail or snow. Conjure painful blasts of ice. Conjure painful blasts of water. Produce large tidal waves when near a source of water. Breathe indefinitely underwater.

Fire: Cause occasional strikes of lightning. Can create small pockets of lava.

Air: Cause gusts of very damaging and near tornado-like wind. Can temporarily remove air from an area in an attempt to suffocate. Can deoxygenate some sources of small fires.

Earth: Cause significant earth quakes or seismic cracks. Can create tunnels to burrow under enemies quickly. Can manipulate surrounding mountains to cause avalanches.

Elder Powers: [100+ Moons]

Older cats who have spent their lives training have usually mastered all of these previous powers, but as they age and weaken, so do their powers. Their totems slowly lose their ability to channel what they have learned, and they no longer have the stamina to call upon the powers like they once did. You can assume that the older your cat gets, the 'younger' his skill ability. For example, a cat who just joined the elders den may still be found fighting using many strong moves he learned as a senior warrior. But a cat of 100 Moons would have reverted to only having enough strength to use the moves listed in the 'kit' section, as they have grown to old to wield such power.

Totems:

When an kit becomes an apprentice, they receive a totem representative of their personality or destiny, and wear it around their neck as a conduit to their elemental powers. Read more in the 'traditions' segment above. Below is a list of possible totems, and a general idea of the personalities and destinies linked to them. Your cat may possess all of the qualities listed, or only one of them. Occasionally, a cat will feel like their totem does not represent them at all, but Starclan's will is final, and their totem is bonded to them and them alone for life. It is possible that the totem is representative of who the cat is becoming rather than who the cat currently is. It is better to create your own unique cat first and then choose a totem from the list you think best suits them rather than vice versa. List is subject to change.

Powerstones:

Powerstones are rare rocks that are almost always located only after a quest from Starclan. You can read more on the history of powerstones here, or read more about them above under the heading of 'Traditions' and 'Quests'. In short, PowerStones augment a cat's existing elemental ability with a brand new ability that is most likely unique to perhaps only one or two more cats. Due to the perilous nature of PowerStones, only warriors are allowed on quests, and because these stones are revealed by the Ancients, even Starclan doesn't know whether a cat will truly make it to the stone, or what all dangers lie in wait on their journey. When a cat finds a PowerStone and touches their totem to it, the stone binds to the back of the totem where it lays against their chest, and the cat gains the power. This makes it extremely hard to steal or remove a powerstone from a cat. (Do not ever remove another roleplayer's cat's powerstone without their permission). Should a rogue cat or a totemless cat obtain a stone, they usually find their own way to bind it to their body as well. Below are a list of rumored or known powerstones, their locations if known, and which cats have them or are questing towards them, if any. These powerstones are to be gained through RP or given to cats of senior roleplay members when I deem fit. (I have more stone ideas planned, but reserving many of them to surprise with or give out later! Feel free to give suggestions!)

Illumination - - Cat can make themselves a beacon of light, softly for a long time, or blindingly bright for a short time. Unknown location. 1 Current bearer, Slatefur of Willowclan.
Increased Smell - - Cat has a sense of smell much stronger than any non-enhanced cat. Unknown location for new stones. 1 Current bearer, Waspfang of Ivyclan.
Vertigo - - Cat has the ability to induce a terrible dizziness that unbalances another cat, causes blurred vision and nausea. Unknown location for new stones. 1 Current bearer, Thistlestar of Ivyclan [Broken Stone].
Cold Manipulation - - Cat has the ability to make a small area quite cold for several minutes. Unknown location for new stones. 2 Current bearer, Thistlestar of Ivyclan; Shatterfrost of Ivyclan.
Camouflage - - Cat can make their pelt blend into their environment for a short amount of time. Unknown location for new stones. 1 Current bearer, Owlfoot of Ivyclan.
Mirage Duplicate - - Cat can create up to three duplicates of themselves that mimic their movements, but are a mirage. Mirage will fade when touched. Unknown location for new stones. 1 Current bearer, Ryestar of Willowclan.
Earthquake - - Cat has the ability to create an earthquake like that of senior Earth Elementals. Unknown location for new stones. 1 known bearer, Whitefire of Willowclan.
Perfect Night Vision - - Cat can see perfectly in the dark. Unknown location for new stones. No known bearers.
Minor Plant Control - - Cat can encourage plant growth or use plant vines as weapons for constriction or whips. Does not last long. Unknown location for new stones. 1 known bearer, Cedarstorm of Ivyclan [broken stone]
Increased Healing - - Cat's wounds heal faster, and they heal quicker from disease. Unknown location for new stones. 2 Current bearers, Mistsplash of Ivyclan ; Cedarstorm of Ivyclan.
Minor Animal Control - - Can control prey sized animals, useful for hunting, or swarming an enemy with mice. Unknown location for new stones. No known bearers.

Willowclan's Warrior Code:

⤕ Defend your clan, even with your life. You may create friendships with those outside the clan, but your loyalty must remain to your clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
⤕ Do not hunt or trespass on another clan's territory.
⤕ Elders, Queens and their kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
⤕ Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to Starclan for it's life.
⤕ A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
⤕ Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
⤕ A cat cannot be named deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
⤕ When the deputy steps down or dies, the clan will cast stones for the cat they wish to become deputy. The cat with the most stones cast in their name will be appointed the new deputy. Deputies must be appointed before a full day has passed.
⤕ When a leader steps down or dies, the deputy with the most experience takes the place of leader and must journey to receive their nine lives. A new second deputy must be chosen before a full day has passed.
⤕ A gathering of all the clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among clans during this time.
⤕ No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from another clan.
⤕ The word of the clan Leader is the warrior code.
⤕ An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless it is necessary for self-defense.
⤕ A warrior rejects the lawless and selfish life of a rogue or loner.
⤕ Warriors are to respect nature, and never use their elemental powers to intentionally destroy the land around them.
⤕ A Medicine Cat may not have kits.
⤕ All medicine cat apprentices are chosen by Starclan through dreams given to the current medicine cat.
⤕ The most senior medicine cat apprentice will take the role of lead medicine cat when the current medicine cat dies or retires.
⤕ Warriors shun all exiled cats. Warriors are not to talk to, help, or meet with any cat who has been exiled from Willowclan.

⤕ Please do your best to roleplay according to Willowclan's unique abilities, traditions, and territory! I understand it is a lot to read, but please reference back to this front page when you're battling or exploring so that we can have a cohesive story and world! It's not very fun to be roleplaying in the mountains and someone keeps referencing dense forests, or to be fighting within the skills provided and someone keeps godmodding. If we are having a festival, read about it and join in! If we are talking about the clan history, read about it so your cat can sound accurate! I absolutely don't mind helping where it is needed, I just want to know you're trying. c:

⤕ Keep the content rating the same as the warrior cat books- some depictions of blood allowed, but no mating scenes, cursing, queens under 12 moons, uncomfortable age differences in mates, mentor/apprentice relationships, or anything else that wouldn't align with a children's fantasy book.

⤕ Please attempt to be as active as you can realistically be in Ivyclan! I 100% understand that life happens, and will often be gone myself for work or vacations.

I just would appreciate a heads up anytime you're planning on being gone for longer than a week so that characters don't become stuck. Should you be completely inactive for two months without prior warning, your character will be moved into the 'inactive' section on the information page. Any apprentice your cat is mentoring will be reassigned, and any mentor your apprentice is learning from will be reassigned. If you hold a high ranking position, those positions will become available for another RPer. If your cat was on a quest with others, the others will return (And unfortunately have to RP as though your cat died or that the journey never even happened. ) You are ALWAYS welcome to return, and should you prove to be active again, you will be more than welcome to request again a high ranking position, apprentice, plot, etc. but there are no guarantees you will be granted it right away. This is not to be mean! It is only to ensure the roleplay doesn't get stuck due to inactivity.

⤕ That being said... our timeline is constantly moving, but due to the nature of roleplaying, has no real set consistency. I will strive to age all cats by a moon every IRL month, but will announce before I do it. This is to ensure that warriors can age into senior warriors and even elders and we can have a realistic passage of time. For warriors, aging by a moon will likely not effect much. But if you feel like your kit or apprentice is aging too fast and you want more time to roleplay them in these stages of life, I do not mind keeping their age consistent for another week as long as any other roleplayers involved (mother of the kit, littermates, mentor) are okay with it! Keep in mind that other cats will continue to age unless specified, so if you have a love interest for your cat, that may skew the age difference between them!

⤕ Characters! We need diversity! We have a 'statistics' chart listed in a box below tracking the number of toms to mollies, apprentices to warriors, and the number of cats with each elemental power. It's important that we have balance in this roleplay, so if there are more than five cats outnumbering a certain category, I will temporarily close that category to new characters. For example, if we have 20 she-cats and 14 toms, I will temporarily close the ability to create new she-cats. Or if we have 8 fire elementals, 2 earth, 3 air, and 3 water, I will temporarily close the ability to create more fire elemental cats. Likewise, if we have 10 apprentices and only 4 warriors, I will close the ability to create new apprentices. Should a member become inactive, a cat die or the rankings restabilize, I will reopen that ranks. I reserve all rights to close or open rankings.

⤕ Characters, cont! Please try to integrate your character into the world! When you make your character, ask if your cat can be a sibling, parent, child, uncle, etc to a current clan cat! It makes the roleplaying soooo much more intriguing and fun! Look in the clan family tree for [OPEN] markers to see if there is any cat specifically who is needing a family member created! Let me know if you have a preferred warrior name, mentor, plot idea, or anything else!

⤕ New roleplayers are limited to no more than 5 cats when joining the RP. This is to ensure that you put effort into making each character and that your cats have the opportunity to grow and change as the plot progresses. However, should your character die, you are welcome to make a cat to replace him or her. Please be aware that your character should die eventually at some point in the roleplay, whether through natural causes or battle, that's what makes the stakes high and the roleplay fun!

⤕ Your character also should not be overpowered, have any markings, colors, or other traits that are unusual to a common feline. Once more, roleplay realistically! Give your character flaws! Make your characters interesting, but also make them ~normal~ . No one is right all the time. No one wins every battle. So your cat won't either! And I promise it makes things more interesting!

⤕ You can consider Willowclan to be... post apocalyptic, basically. There are twoleg remains littered across this land, but literally the cats should never encounter or even mention a twoleg... ever, please. Unless I change my mind in the future, I don't want twolegs. I would hate for our band of elemental cats to overrun a poor unsuspecting human lol.

⤕ You may not at any point kill or force another roleplayer's cat to do anything without permission from that roleplayer.

⤕ Members listed as 'very active' are members who are online roleplaying at least two different days in one week unless previously stated. These members are the ones who will be considered for the higher ranking positions such as deputy, leader, and medicine cat. Their characters are also more likely to be given quests. Strive to be one of them! Should you miss a week, you will be changed to 'active' status. Very active status can be achieved again easily however with two posts on different days the next week.

⤕ For the sake of a unique roleplaying experience, no member may play more than one high ranking position at a time (example, you may not play both the leader and the medicine cat apprentice, or both deputies, etc.) This rule can be bent by me [blue] to fill needed positions for a time, such as the start of this RP, with the expectation that one of the roleplayers high ranking cats either dies or retires to give the position to another 'very active' member. Remember, should you be completely inactive from the roleplay for a month without prior warning, you forfeit your cat's high ranking position and are moved to the inactive list.

⤕ More characters! If you'd like more than five cats, you may be interested in becoming a Very Active Senior Member! Members listed as Very Active Senior Members are members who post at least two different days per week unless they had a previously stated expected absence, and who have been roleplaying with us for at least two months with a maintained consistency of this level without any missed weeks. Ryestar is a dark ginger tabby she-cat with kind golden eyes. Ryestar has a fiercely passionate heart and refuses to send away any cat in need. She believes in the good of all cats, even her enemies. Ryestar is naturally kind hearted and a peacemaker, but has enough of a backbone to be able to stand up to what she thinks is wrong. This has made her an honored and well respected leader of Willowclan, but has come with a price. Her self sacrificial nature has caused Ryestar to throw herself in harms way on behalf of her clan several times over, leading her to only having 3 lives left at such a young age. Ryestar values family, friendship, morality, and teamwork.

Honeyspeck - Air - Ant - 58 Moons - Moonclaw400
A small, shorthaired golden FTM trans tom with white feet and blue eyes. He has a scar over his left eye, blinding it. Honeyspeck puts all his energy in keeping the clan safe. Despite his time spent keeping the clan safe, he still tries to give his time to the younger clan members, helping apprentices with techniques or playing with kits. Honeyspeck was born in the clan, having being the kit of two older warriors. Over the Moons of training, on one of his first patrols, Honeyspeck got attacked by an animal and now has a large scar over his face. Gay.

Talonstrike - Air - Dove - 53 Moons - Ember34
Talonstrike is a scruffy snow lynx marbled bengal she-cat with curled, rex-like fur and dark blue eyes. Talonstrike puts her work before anything else, and always tends to overwork herself. Talonstrike is gentle on young cats, but doesn't tend to take time to play with kits. She struggles to make connections with her clanmates, despite how hard she has tried, so instead pours her time and energy to doing her work. Born in the clan. Talonstrike had always looked forward to being a warrior. She never planned to have kits nor was it something that she had wanted in the slightest. One night at a gathering though, an Ivyclan tom had caught her eye. After a while she ran into that tom once more on a border patrol, where she learned of his identity, Waspfang. Eventually after sometime she was annoyed to find she was expecting his kits. She hid it as best she could and had them outside of camp where she promptly abandoned the kits at the border and returned to her camp. Over time she had a second litter, to reaffirm her loyalty to Willowclan. She however is just as distant to these kits as her first litter, not truly claiming them as her kin. Straight.

Whitefire - Fire - Fox - 46 Moons - Bluewonder
White medium furred she-cat with red tail and head markings. Amber eyes. It is quite possible that Whitefire received her suffix more due to her fiery tongue rather than her coat color or elemental power. Whitefire is a she-cat who wouldn’t be bothered to hold her opinion back, and her opinions are often brash and abrasive. She frequently finds others to be annoying, dim-witted, or a bore to be around, and isn’t afraid to say it to your face. She received her position due to her talent in memorizing herbs and remedies, and felt that she would best serve her clan in this way. However, healing is not her passion, and she doesn’t mind complaining about it. Whitefire still loves to battle and is often found training on her days off, even challenging some warriors to competitions.

Pinepaw has long, red and brown fur with some white around his mouth. He has a long fluffy tail and bright green eyes. Pinepaw is a smart cat who loves learning new things. He is a know it all and will brag to anyone who happens to be nearby. Pinepaw mostly follows the rules, but will break a few if it means helping someone in need. He likes to have things planned out and dislikes surprises. He is always on the lookout for ways to make his job a little easier whether that be a certain herb mixture or a new way to keep a herb fresh.

Powerstone: Heat Manipulation
Cindershade has gray fur with faint tabby markings. She has hazel colored eyes and a lean figure. Cindershade is a quiet cat who prefers her own company. She doesn't mind being social, but can only be social for so long. She is loyal to her clan and a hard worker. She is a little more open to her friends and family. She is the type to hold grudges and will hold them for years. Cindershade was born and raised in the clan. As a young cat, she used to be little more open and chatty but over the years, she became more introverted. At some point, she had a loving mate until, he was attacked while on a patrol by Ivyclan. Her mate managed to escaped, but succumbed to his injures. This sent Cindershade into a deep depression for a couple of moons. A part of her wouldn't mind having another mate but, she is terrified that something might happen to them.

Powerstone: Acid Hiss
A light brown tom with dark brown patches and amber eyes. He is a serious cat who detests laziness and weakness. He also doesn't think too highly of cats who aren't clanborn, at least until he thinks they've proven themselves to be trustworthy and reliable. While he can be very harsh to those he sees as useless, not serious enough, weak or stupid and will also criticise others for tiny mistakes he cares a lot about Willowclan and wants everyone to reach their full potential, as any of his former apprentices will know all too well. He might even give some advice to any young cat who's brave enough to approach him and will try to be patient with them. Despite his dislike for weakness he can be surprisingly kind to clanmates who are old, sick or injured and will always make sure that they get enough food.

Slatefur is a pure black tomcat with green eyes. Slatefur is a generally well-liked cat who many say is the kit who never grew up. He is playful, energetic, and eager to please. He makes a loyal warrior and a kind friend by having a generally gentle heart. He is a devout follower of Starclan, which brings him inner peace even in tumultuous times. His level head and caring heart make many think he would be a great leader one day, however, it is rumored that Slatefur and Ryestar were mates before she became leader and ended on a sour note, and that since then he has declined any deputyship.

Poolwhisker is a pretty gray blue she-cat, with medium long fur, she also has blue eyes. Poolwhisker is a fun loving she-cat, even though she is close to a senior warrior, she still knows how to have fun. She is also very patient and kind, and she is great around kits, she spends a lot of time in the nursery with them, and has even considered becoming a permanent queen, but loves being a warrior too much for that.

Powerstone: Vertigo
A medium to long-furred black smoke she-cat with a pale gray "mane" and soft yellow eyes. Weepingwish is quite an oddity for the bright Willowclan, usually a pessimist and expecting the worst to come out of things. She can be quiet and hesitates to speak up for herself, though would always take a hit to assist her clanmates. Weepingwish is a patient cat and holds a soft spot for the younger bunch of the clan, such as kits and apprentices. Left on the Willowclan border as a small kit, Weepingwish has yet to meet her parents, assumed to be rogues. However, she doesn't have a distaste for rogues or loners because of this, believing grudges shouldn't be held. Her name came from how solemn she used to seem, even at a young age, leaving some of her clanmates confused.

Leopardhawk has golden brown fur with black spots and bright orange eyes. She has a athletic build and muscular legs. Leopardhawk is active cat who likes to be out doing stuff. She is usually the one to volunteer for patrols. She keeps her emotions guarded and has commitment issues. She is a mischievous cat who enjoys playing pranks on her clanmates. In her mind, she comes across has a mysterious and cool to her clanmates, though that is far from it.

Powerstone: Intention Reading
Smallbranch is a small, long furred brown marbled tabby with gold eyes. He is missing his tail tip and most of one ear. Smallbranch prefers to keep to his own, though tries to be polite when around others. Whenever his friends or family are upset, he does his best to help them through their issue. Smallbranch was born outside the clan as a loner names Tiny. He had been hurt by a dog and was taken in to patch his wounds. He eventually asked to join the clan and worked hard to show his loyalty to those who cared for him and kept him safe.

Fawnleap is an inauspicious black smoke tabby she-cat with a white tail tip and bright blue eyes. Fawnleap is a softspoken she cat, never one to raise her voice. She tries her hardest to fit in, sometimes she over does it. Fawnleap struggles with clan beliefs and customs even as a warrior, but she is always working to be able to understand them. Originally was a rogue kit that had been found and taken into the clan as she had only been 2 moons old. With no sign of her mother anywhere. Fawnleap worked hard to prove her loyalty to the clan that took her in and gave her a home. Bi.

Ashfall is an ash grey tom with Amber eyes. Across the top of his body, he has darker grey and black fur scattered about which almost makes it look as if he was covered in ash. His body has medium length fur and a sleek build. Ashfall has a fiery spirit and is always up to a challenge when presented with one. On top of doing his duties to his clan he also has a great sense of loyalty to his brother. He and his brother both have very different mindsets and ideals in the end, but somehow manage to work seamlessly together whenever it’s needed. Even though they hate to admit at times, they don’t do their best independently and almost rely on each other. During the heat of battle, it’s almost have if their combination of fire and ice turns into some sort of dance. As far as other things go, Ashfall also loves to have fun every now and then and doesn’t have a problem keeping kits or apprentices occupied when their bored. He also hates the water and tends to believe it weakens his connection to the element of fire. Ashfall and his brother grew up a pretty normal clan life and neither of them work shocked the day it came to receive their totems. Both received the ant which despite the brothers’ differences, just proved how strong a bond they had and well together they worked.

Glacierfjord is a light grey tom with icy blue eyes. Darker swirls of grey cover his pelt almost as if a current is raging amongst his fur. His fur is on the shorter side with a sleeker build, but you can definitely tell he has some muscle to him from practicing swimming in the water. Glacierfjord is almost the complete opposite of his brother. Even though he tries not to, he can sometimes come off as cold, uncaring, and easily upset at failures he thinks could have been avoided. Despite the easy annoyance he can feel though at certain things, he can be rather patient when he needs to be. Especially when hunting or waiting for the right time to strike in battle. Despite all that, he isn’t just a straight up grouch or meanie to the other clan cats. He’s just rather reserved and usually lets his brother start the conversations. Also, unlike his brother, he loves the water and swimming and enjoys sometimes freezing the ground in an attempt to go skating on the ice. Glacierfjord and his brother grew up a pretty normal clan life and neither of them work shocked the day it came to receive their totems. Both received the ant which despite the brothers’ differences, just proved how strong a bond they had and well together they worked.

Despite her build she's not to be underestimated as she's quick and knows to make use of her sharp claws and how to tire out her opponents. She's usually a very patient cat but if she thinks someone is of slow wit or outright stupid she won't mince words. Other than that she's reasonable and will think things through to not make hasty judgements though she won't voice her opinion if she knows that everyone will disagree with her. Bi.

Blazethorn is a ginger and white tom, he is more ginger than he is white though, he also has intense yellow eyes. While his brother is reasonable and laid back, Blazethorn has a fiery personality. She despises conflict, and wonders why Ivyclan's leader is so harsh, especially when it isn't needed. Though cruelty is never needed in her case. She spends her time trying to settle disputes between her clanmates, even if it puts her on the receiving end of the argument. She's also patient with others and always willing to listen if anyone needs to talk. Adderheart loves going on patrol with mentors and their apprentices, trying to learn as much as she can about the different ways of training a younger cat. Lesbian.

Once them and the rest of the litter where old enough to eat fresh kill, Talonstrike returned to her duties but still slept in the nursery. Demi.

Despite her kind nature, she can be passive aggressive and judgmental of others. Birdpaw ended up losing her parents early in life. She loves to collect things.

Softear - Water - Swan - 110 Moons - Bluewonder
Orange and white she-cat with tufts of soft white fur on her ears and tail. Soft white chest and underbelly. Softear is as gentle as her name- a loving, thoughtful she-cat who takes a motherly role for any cat in need. Softear is a young elder, and therefore still tries to stay active in her clan by helping in the nursery, going on the occasional hunt, or forming relationships with cats she feels like are lonely. She is immensely proud of her daughter Ryestar, who was the only kit of her last litter, but is terrified that she may end up outliving her own daughter and often tries to caution Ryestar out of risky adventures.

She has blue eyes and mostly white fur. Her left ear, three of her paws and a stripe on her back are light gray. Died at 22 moons of greencough.

She's usually friendly and understanding but she can also snap at others when they're too reckless or when she's really stressed. She always had had an interest in herbs but what had fascinated her the most was the way medicine cats could interpret signs from StarClan. Once she actually trained to become a medicine cat however that part had lost its appeal almost entirely. She gets uneasy whenever StarClan sends her a sign and sometimes she wishes her ancestors would just leave her be.

A dark grey tabby tom with barely visible black stripes and amber eyes. Died at 46 moons in a skirmish with Ivyclan.

Panthertail is a friendly and affectionate cat who loves spending time with his clanmates and will always make time for any apprentice who wants some advice or extra training, even when he's not their mentor. He especially enjoys watching his kits, Darkpaw and Adderpaw, grow stronger every day and can't wait for them to become warriors. Died in a skirmish with Ivyclan two moons before his kits became warriors.

A white-and-black mottled tom with green eyes. Died at 37 moons from wounds inflicted by Cloudchaser (Gale).

He can be a little withdrawn at times and usually doesn't like spending time with multiple cats at once unless its for hunting or border patrols. Whenever he's not hunting or patrolling he's wandering around the clan's territory, just enjoying the scenery. Was one of the cats who tried to take Cloudchaser's totem off of her when she was exiled. Eventually succumbed to his wounds afterwards.

A mottled pale-gray she-cat with green eyes. Died at 37 moons by wounds inflicted by Cloudchaser (Gale).

She can be very impatient with others and tends to speak her mind. As an apprentice she often got in trouble for being disrespectful and even got her warrior ceremony delayed by one moon. Even now as a warrior she's not afraid of speaking out against higher-ranking clanmates if she thinks they're being mousebrained. She doesn't only voice her negative thoughts though, Ripplefur doesn't hesitate when it comes to complimenting or encouraging others. Was one of the cats who tried to take Cloudchaser's totem off of her when she was exiled. Eventuelly succumbed to her wounds afterwards.

He's a very energetic tom who can't wait to become a warrior and takes his training very seriously. While he likes being around his clanmates he doesn't spend much time socializing because he thinks training is more important and he'll have all the time in the world to spend time with them once he's a warrior. Always the first one to volunteer for joining a patrol and willing to fight of any predator or other intruder to prove himself. Died in the battle against Ivyclan when they tried to claim the northern part of the rolling hills.

Ryestar nosed her way into the medicine cat den, her orange pelt contrasting against the dark shadows. "How is he?" She mewed to Whitefire. The medicine cat flicked her tail in anger, moving away from the tom she was applying a poultice to. The tom in question, Slatefur, barely managed to give Ryestar a nod in greeting before Whitefire stepped in front of his line of vision between the two. "He's just got a few scratches, they'll heal." She muttered grumpily. "The real question is when we are going to do something about these Ivyclan attacks? We are running low on herbs, and if this continues, I won't have enough to make it through Leafbare!" Whitefire continued, and Ryestar sighed, dropping her head. "I know." She mewed. There was nothing left to be said, so with a farewell flick of her tail, she exited the den. Her head was down, drooping in defeat. The previous battle had not only wounded several of her warriors, but had cost her a life as well. But to what end? Ivyclan had still won the northern part of the Rolling Hills, and it was only a matter of time before they demanded more.

Russetpaw sat in the middle of camp, rolling a feather between his paws. He itched for something to do. Perhaps a hunting patrol, or some battle training? He looked around, seeing if any other cats were awake yet.

She looked down at her kits and purred. "Don't stray too far, little ones." She mewed, flicking her tail lazily before stretching out again.

Ryestar was with the medicine cat which meant her den was wide open to be explored, and the young kit was determined to explore every inch of it! He wasn't going to get another chance like this and he wanted to take advantage of it! He looked towards Cranekit, flicking his tail excitedly. "Cranekit want to join me on my quest!"

Crowpaw-Camp-Open
Crowpaw watched their clanmates, their tail flicking alongside them. They were waiting to see if their mentor would make an appearance. As they hoped to get some training in for the day. With the way Ivyclan has been they wanted to be prepared for anything. They pushed themselves to their paws and moved to walk around the camp to get their legs stretched out.

Sagepaw-Camp-Open
Sagepaw was carrying a mouse towards the elder's den. He didn't mind doing tasks like this it let him think. The tom poked his head into the elder's den, setting the mouse down. "Hey Softear," he called softly, not wanting to risk waking the elder if she was asleep. "I brought you some food."

Talonstrike-Camp-Open
Talonstrike flicked her tail as she looked around the camp. She wanted to get a patrol sent out along the border, those mangy Ivyclan cats have been getting on her nerves with the territory they have been stealing, so she wanted to ensure that they hadn't dared tried to move the border. She glanced towards the other deputy talking to Russetpaw. Flicking her tail in annoyance she diverted it towards other clanmates that might be around to see who would be willing to go on the border patrol.

Fawnleap-Camp-Open
Faweap exited the warriors den as she yawned, her tail flicking out behind her, stretching before moving out of the way of the entrance. She hoped that the day would be kind to everyone and that no issues would arise. Everyone had been on edge it felt like due to the antics of Ivyclan. She didnt understand why their sister clan was being such a thorn in their side as of late, and she was frankly to scared to ask at this point.

Rushingmist watched as her kits bounded away, feeling a sense of pride well in her chest. She was never the type of queen to confine her kits to her- the opposite of a helicopter mom, perhaps to a fault- and she loved to see that she had strong, healthy, adventurous kits. They would make fine warriors for the clan one day, as long as they kept boldness in their little hearts. She watched them with golden eyes a moment more, making sure they weren't headed for the camp entrance, before curling her tail around Marshkit, who had fallen asleep at her side.

Softear purred and gave Sagepaw a small pat with her feathery tail. She took the mouse gratefully and took a bite, enjoying the warm flavor. "Delicious. Thank you. Did you catch this yourself?"

Foxpaw - Camp - with Cricketpaw (Dark )

"Alright," he purred. It probably wouldn't matter too much, any kind of prey was welcome after all. "Let's go then!" he flicked his tail at her and padded towards the camp entrance. Before he got there he slowed down a little but knowing her she would probably bound after him and take the lead. Foxpaw enjoyed hunting and just being out of camp but Cricketpaw had unmatchable energy and enthusiasm.

'Ok, I'll go find them now'Applefrond replied. Then he headed off to call the named cats for the patrol. He found Silverdawn padding out of the warriors den and called'Silverdawn, come join the border patrol.' Noticing Adderheart in the clearing, he said the same to him. He wondered which apprentices he would take, maybe Indigopaw and Sagepaw, he thought. Spotting Sagepaw at the elders den he called'Sagepaw, when you're done come and join us for a border patrol.' He looked around for Indigopaw,and, noticing her in the apprentices den, woke her up for the patrol.

Sagepaw smiled at the elder, his fur flushing with embarrassment. "I did yea," he said. "It almost got away though..." his ears perked at Applefrond's words. His tail flicking anxiously. "Sorry Softear I have to go, but I'm glad you enjoy the meal, I'll stop by when we get back if you want." He offered her another smile before exiting the den heading over to the gathering cats.

Talonstrike looked around, but relaxed seeing that the other deputy was organizing a hunting patrol. That was one less thing to worry about. Watching as the cats she had instructed for Applefrond to get started to come around she flicked her tail. "We should start by the north border and we'll make our way down from there to go along the border."

Adderheart had already been wondering if she would be assigned for a patrol or if she would head out on her own so she was glad to be part of this group. She nodded when Applefrond told her she was joining and stood with the other cats who had been picked, waiting for the rest to join them.

Foxpaw - Leaving Camp - with Cricketpaw (Dark )

Laughing at this Foxpaw quickly followed after his sister. This was much better than having to go hunting with some of the warriors. Foxpaw didn't really enjoy it as much with them. He worried to much over making mistakes with most of the older cats so hunting with just Cricketpaw was a much better option. As soon as the had stepped outside camp Foxpaw began to scent the air, not wanting to miss any potential prey. As he did he briefly turned to Cricketpaw and in a rare moment of competitiveness he meowed a light "Let's see who can catch the most!"

Softear gave the young tom another smile. "Only if you have time. I know apprenticeship is hard work." She mewed gently, before continuing her meal. She figured after she ate, she would go out and see what she could do to be helpful to her clan. Having moved to the elder's den mere moons ago, she still often felt uncomfortable sitting around and waiting on other cats to assist her- she would have caught her own breakfast if not for Sagepaw. Still, she couldn't help but be appreciative that Willowclan was still teaching manners to their young.

Russetpaw watched as Talonstrike assembled her own border patrol and absentmindedly nodded to Honeyspeck. He wouldn't have minded being on the border patrol. Russetpaw was completely outraged by how much land Ivyclan had been taking from Willowclan lately, and wouldn't have minded being on a border patrol if only to have the chance to shred an ear or two. He heard Silverdawn's words, and responded in a gung-ho tone, "I'd like to see them try! I can't wait until Ryestar tells us we are finally getting back at those crowfood eaters!" He huffed angrily, pelt bristling slightly, before he shook the emotions off. "Give me one minute, Honeyspeck. I'll go see what apprentices are available." With that, he dashed to the apprentice den. He knew Indigopaw had already been called by Talonstrike, and he thought he had seen Cricketpaw and Foxpaw run off together too. The den was empty. Russetpaw turned, resigned to having to be the only apprentice on patrol, when he saw Crowpaw pacing camp. "Crowpaw!" He called out to them, "Hunting patrol?"

Whitefire flicked Slatefur with her tail. "If you quit squirming like a newt constantly, you'll be okay to go. Just remember to come back here twice a day so I can change the poultice on your shoulder." Without waiting for the tom to answer, she strode out of the medicine den into the clearing, where she watched the daily activities of her clanmates. She wouldn't be being called for a hunting patrol or border patrol any time soon, what with her position as a medicine cat, but she couldn't help envying them. She watched them for a moment, breathing a sigh. Starclan, send me a sign. With definite proof from Starclan that Willowclan needed to attack, Ryestar would have to see sense and attack offensively, instead of constantly being barraged by sneaky maneuvers they're ill-prepared for.

Slatefur let out a small mrrow of surprise at Whitefire's gruff demeanor, though he really should be used to it by now. The prickly she-cat had never been the friendliest. He rotated his shoulder as if test it, feeling the freshly applied poultice ooze and crack with the movement. The giant claw mark that Waspfang of Ivyclan had given him last battle still stung, but their loss stung even more. He exited the medicine den slowly, passing Whitefire until he found his own spot in the clearing. He was somewhat grateful he hadn't been called to a patrol yet, appreciative of the chance to rest.
