I have a few small independent clan ideas that might be interesting but as with my previous post (now deleted), I didn't really want to rush into making things without proper motivation/interest. After all, I still run a couple clan and a tribe rn and don't want to divide my attention for things no one is interested in. As such, any further clans will be a lot more lax, both offering less consistent plots and more room to just kinda do your own things but in setting I think would be interesting. Additionally, skill level or activity probably wont matter too much because, again, these are basically just fun little side 'campaigns' so to speak for everyone involved, no stress and no fuss.
I'll be reposting the amusement park territory idea but I also wanted to add another clan idea in a rather rural area with animal sanctuary/vet clinic because I think a more direct concern from twolegs would be interesting. I'll explain further below.
Amusement Park
This idea was related to the concept of clan cats that live within an old, abandoned theme park that was just left to rust years ago, their main camp likely located in a 'house of mirrors' as it's defensive and would require cats be aware of the scent markers employed to make it through without getting lost and overstimulated.
The theme park itself would have tons of broken-down rides and themed areas, old food stalls (although any food would be long eaten or spoiled by this point), ect. that could make for an interesting setting to explore and numerous threats to learn to live with, especially given usual prey and herbs aren't as commonplace as in less man-made areas. The areas and rides themselves could offer unique places to discover the herbs that do grow in the area as well as conceal threats such as rats, skunks, snakes, opossums, wild cats and dogs, ect. and new challenges such as unsafe water sources(water poisoned by garbage, parasites, ect or metallic tasting water from rust), crumbling twoleg constructions, dumb twoleg teens messin' around in the dilapidated theme park and such.
They would also likely have their own belief system unrelated to starclan if only based on the unique living system not exactly coinciding with normal clan territories and may even have different ranking systems to a degree. Could even go as far to say there are multiple 'camps' throughout the theme park due to the size, led by one of a set number of deputies (of whom one will become leader when the leader dies) that are meant to keep that part of the territory and clan safe; each being a small part of the whole clan, kind of like the popular concept of 'house allegiances', which in itself could be an interesting concept expanding into a more Medieval fantasy styled caste system and cause some interesting in-fighting drama. I've got some ideas I could run with this concept but there's a lot I'd be willing to work with others to expand on.
Animal Sanctuary
Gonna say this idea hit me while I was actually taking my cat to the vet to be spayed lmao
So the clan would be in, as said, a rural area with patches of forest but primarily a farming community, meaning long stretches of flat lands with short grass, barn animals, ect. A thunder path cuts through the territory because what's a clan without a big scary road, basically a highway. The most interesting part for this, however, is that there is a vet clinic/adoption service out here, aka an Animal Sanctuary establishment that also tends to take strays, fix them, and then rerelease them which creates quite a concerning risk for a clan cat. They often get drop offs from random twolegs as well that are often put up for adoption and basically there are interesting means for non-clan cats to get involved. Hard cat food and the like is probably easy to find here, making life easier for the non-clan cats, and there are fenced areas for dogs and such too as well as a frequent two leg activity. Honestly, the area around the sanctuary is probably an area the clan cats are advised to avoid, and apprentices are forbidden from entering alone but we all know how apprentices be sometimes so fun drama go.
The big concern in the regard of the twolegs for this clan is that if they end up getting caught, they will be fixed unless they escape or are rescued ahead of time, the operation being something that drastically changes the cat as shown in both real life and expressed in the books themselves. Clan cats that are fixed likely are retired to the elders den if the procedure leaves them unable to resume their duties effectively, although some can continue but will never have kits -- the severity to the personality change being very individual based. Ultimately, I hope it might end up creating an interesting set of background circumstances for people to play with that usually aren't considered in usual clan roleplay. There are also the more common ideas of cats just being dropped off at farms, barn cats just bein' barn cats and of course typical clanborn cats being clanborn cats with a logical concern for twoleg machinations.
Alternatively speaking, a vet clinic also means that normally life ending illnesses can often be cured by the twolegs if desperation is high enough to risk being fixed. There is a window for escape in these cases since a cat wont be fixed while they are ill but it is a very risky act only used in the most severe circumstances. Although even this must be balanced as if the twolegs notice a sudden influx of cats wandering about they might begin using live traps to actively catch them.
Anyways, those are just some rough ideas I had floating around in my head that I might not mind playing with if there's some interest to be found in it. Thank you for taking a look.
