Nice! I love them already.
Still not done with everyone but I'm getting there
Firene (3/3)
Marceau | 19 | Male | Firene | Regulus | Marceau is slightly taller than average. He has red eyes and short blond hair with one streak on his left being light brown. | Marceau is normally an open and friendly person who likes to listen to other people's troubles and worries and will try to come up with a solution. He hates injustices and unnecessary violence but he's also of the opinion that some people only respect a show of power. He loves how peaceful Firene is and would like to keep it that way but at the same time he worries that the other kingdoms think of it as weak and an easy target. In his opinion Firene can't just sit back while Brodia is in constant conflict with Elusia, feeling that they should help if they're capable but he'd also hate to force his people into war as it wouldn't be fair to them either. Marceau also worries that Brodia and Solm will resent Firene for its indifference or that if they are under attack that the other kingdoms won't give them aid. He often wrestles with thoughts like that, trying to figure out what would be best and he's glad that it's not his time to rule yet. He only ever shares his worries with his retainers and even that isn't often as he likes to keep his thoughts to himself, both because he doesn't want to burden others and because he thinks he can't ask for too much advice and has to figure things out by himself. Whenever he wants to be alone with his thoughts he seeks out the clearing in a forest near the castle, the place where his sister and one of the guards were killed. He takes his duty and future role seriously and tries his best to prepare for it by working on his fighting and planning skills and learning how to be a good leader. Because of that though he tends to overwork himself and more often than not he's stressed because of it. He has a hard time just relaxing or enjoying himself when it's not in any way practical to him. Despite his normally kind nature he is also very proud and defensive of Firene, not tolerating any kind of jab against it. He gets easily offended if anyone implies they are weak or useless and while he mostly fights back with words he also isn't afraid to challenge them. To show that his kingdom is as strong and capable as the others he would hide his kind and friendly side without a second thought and can snap at others and be unfair to them if they do something he doesn't approve of, like when they are showing too much weakness by being too soft, fearful or otherwise make themselves look "less" than those of the other realms. | Likes: How peaceful his home is, cats, singing, learning about the cultural differences between the realms | Dislikes: Cowardice and indecisiveness, injustice, warmongers, people who make fun of Firene's ways of doing things, people who don't see humans and laguz as equals | Hobbies: Playing strategic boardgames, reading about strategies and tactics used in previous wars, training, swimming, playing the piano, writing songs. He tries to keep the latter a secret though and would probably die of embarrassment if he had to share his writing with anyone | Talents: singing, ventriloquism, songwriting, using every advantage in battle that presents itself and keeping casualties to a minimum even when the enemy is much stronger than his group. He also has a talent for white magic but he would rather keep it a secret and doesn't train with staves | The second born of Queen Lucienne and King Ruben but since his older sister Maéva died a few days after his birth he was named the heir instead. His parents tried to shelter him at first, something he strongly disliked. It often caused him to deliberately break as many rules as he could. While he did understand why they acted like that when he was old enough to learn about his sister he refused to accept their coddling, but instead of trying to sneak out all the time or secretly ask some knights and guards to train with him like he tended to do before he finally asked his parents to allow him more freedom, reasoning that this will be more safe for him in the long run than their well-meaning but misguided attempts of sheltering him. Thankfully they accepted this and in return Marceau stopped to rebel against them. While he still sneaks out of the castle from time to time it's nowhere near as common as it used to be. Mostly to not worry his parents but also because he doesn't have much time for it anyway, being too focused on training and learning everything he can about tactics and strategy. The few times he does sneak out is mainly to see how the people of the kingdom are doing, sometimes alone and sometimes accompanied by his retainers. He trusts and values them both and also considers them his closest friends. His parents insisted that they would get to choose one retainer for him while he was allowed to choose the other one. He didn't mind it too much and was quick to accept Hias as his second retainer, trusting his mother's judgement. Once he heard about Hias' past Marceau swore to keep their secret and also to protect them if anyone from Brodia recognized them. | Homosexual Homoromantic | Pineclaw |
Rayén | 18 | Female | Firene | Laguz (Lion) | Rayén is rather short. She has purple eyes and short white hair with black streaks that look like tiger stripes. Her ears and tail are a more greyish shade. Her beast form is a huge greyish white lioness with a short mane around her neck. She also has barely visible pale grey stripes that look incomplete, like they're just cut off at different parts instead of ending normally. In both of her forms there are often some small twigs, leaves, blades of grass or sand or dust on her, mostly stuck in her hair or to her fur. | Rayén is a cheerful and excitable person with a more quiet and insecure side as there are so many things she loves to do but just isn't really able to without showing how weak she is in her human form. She still tries to make the best out of it and tries not to lament what she can't have anyway. But there are times when she envies those who aren't weak like her and thinks it's not fair that, as far as she can tell, she's the only one who has to live like that. Rayén loves making new friends and talking to people but it takes her a while to trust them enough to not feel ashamed of what she likes to call "her general uselessness". She also loves to wander and explore and has a sense of adventure. Most of the time she will use her beast form when travelling and it's the only form she uses in battle because of how strong and much more tougher it is. As much as she loves her beast form though she tries not to use it too much in her spare time, fearing she'll depend too much on it otherwise, even for more mundane things. Rayén is more open about her problems once she gets to know someone better but even then she tends to hide it when she's not feeling too well, sometimes even hiding injuries or illness because she doesn't want to be a burden. Not even Marceau and Hias are exempt from this, despite how much she trusts them, but since they know her well enough she can't fool them. She still tries to hide such things every now and then because sometimes she feels she's not good enough to be a retainer, no matter how many times she's proven wrong or Marceau reassures her. Aside from that though she's still the most outgoing and optimistic of that group, always finding something to be excited about and trying to share it with others too. She still takes her job seriously and has proven herself to be dependable and skilled. Being both a retainer and friend of Firene's crown prince she also made it her duty to remind him that life isn't just duty and strife and get him to do something fun once in a while. She's very loyal and dutiful and makes sure to follow every order. Since they're childhood friends she has an easy time being more casual around him, something she has a hard time doing with the other royal heirs. She respects their authority and them as people, even admiring them sometimes and always willing to help them in any way she can. But while she is mostly friendly, cheerful and eager to please she can put her foot down if she disagrees with someone she respects. Then she stops caring about such things as social standing, politeness or being agreeable and tells them how she sees it. | Likes: Seeing new places, adventures, her beast form, stargazing, helping others, hunting and fishing, reading, Firene | Dislikes: How weak her human form is, cold places, failing others, bullies, being pitied, poachers, being coddled, vegetables | Hobbies: Turning small stuff she picks up into nice looking trinkets, playing board- and cardgames, wandering off and exploring what's beyond the normally used paths, tree climbing | Talents: Building traps, identifying plants, always finding her way even in places she's never been before by mentally making a map of her surroundings and paths previously taken, quickly understanding other peoples' reasons for acting unusual even with very little to no hints | Rayén and her family live in a small village in Firene. She and her younger sibling were born there while her mother, a tiger laguz, used to live in Solm and her father, a lion laguz, on a small island to the south of Elusia. Growing up Rayén had a hard time making friends as some children bullied her for being unable to keep up with them in any of their activities. While they knew how powerful her beast form is they made sure she'd never use it to intimidate them, telling her if she did they'd tell everyone that she attacked them for no reason and that her family would get kicked out of the village. While her sibling would often defend her from the bullies, as their human form was strong enough to take them on, it only made those other kids laugh at her even more as she needed her younger sibling to defend her. There were also some kids who didn't make fun of her and eventually Rayén befriended those but it took her a while to trust that they were being genuine. Rayén still spent a lot of time wandering the forest and fields outside her village, finding exploring those to be more exciting than being stuck at home, especially with how her parents always coddle her. One day she ran into a boy who was around her age during one of her little adventures and quickly got him to play with her. Afterwards she found out that he was Firene's crown prince and at first she was mortified that she had acted so casual towards him but to her relief Marceau hadn't minded at all and eventually convinced her to not treat him differently now just because he's royalty. After that first encounter Rayén got to meet him more often as he snuck out of the castle a lot and Marceau was more than happy to join her wandering the few areas that weren't too far from the castle or her village. The two soon became close friends and while it got more difficult for Marceau to sneak out of the castle over the years it also became easier for Rayén to just visit the town closest to it. After a while he could hang out with her more often again because his parents had found out about his secret friend and approved of their friendship. They even came up with some excuses for one of them and their son to visit Rayén's village sometimes and while they always had valid reasons there was no doubt they also did it so he and her could spend some time together. Over the years they also started to train together and learned to work as a team. One day they got to put their abilities and teamwork to the test when they spotted a pair of bandits making their way towards her village. After quickly assessing the situation and coming up with a plan Rayén and Marceau confused the bandits first to split them up and then took them down before they could band together again. They still got reprimanded by the team of knights that arrived soon after as while they had shown strength, skill and good planning they still shouldn't go around challenging dangerous bandits. Despite the scolding Rayén gained a lot of confidence from that battle and began to work on herself even more. One day Marceau asked her how she would feel about becoming his retainer and after learning about everything it would entail Rayén found that it sounded great, especially once it became clear he was serious about that offer. Rayén wasn't sure if she would be accepted but soon she learned that Marceau had already made enough good points to his parents to convince them that Rayén would be a capable and reliable retainer and he had put much more thought behind it than just wanting one of his friends for this position. Some of the castle staff was a bit sceptical at first, having some random commoner as the heir's retainer, but they shut up about it soon as they saw how much the queen and king trusted her. Rayén quickly got used to her job and while she still doubts herself every now and then she has proven herself to be very capable so far. She became a bit more insecure again once she got introduced to Hias once they became Marceau's second retainer but with her friend promising her that Hias wouldn't look down on her and also getting to know them better she soon grew to trust them as well. | Only fights in her beast form as she's pretty weak and tires out too quickly when fighting in her human form. Despite being half lion and half tiger her beast form isn't weaker than that of pure lion laguz. In fact hers even seems to be slightly stronger. Bisexual Biromantic | Pineclaw |
Maylis | 16 | Female | Firene | Mage (promotes to Mage Knight) | Maylis is a bit shorter than average. She has medium length sandy brown hair and small amber eyes. | Maylis is a mostly relaxed and cheerful person who doesn't want too much excitement. She hates violence and while she's quite capable she'd prefer to not be involved in any battles at all. While she's calm for the most part she gets really excited about her interests and can't shut up about them. She doesn't have much confidence in herself and often downplays her own abilities. She knows she's talented with magic but she also thinks her parents are exaggerating it and doesn't like how proudly they talk about her. Not wanting to disappoint anyone she tries to keep their expectations low and while she can show pride in her abilities she fears that others will see it as bragging if she has too much good to say about it. Maylis loves having a relatively quiet life without too much excitement and change and is quite unhappy with having to fight so often but since she doesn't want to disappoint her parents she sticks with Ralston and the others. She looks up to anyone who's strong and skilled and tries her best to keep up with them, often feeling motivated by just training with them. Maylis is a pretty good judge of character and is quick to notice if someone is being shifty and she also learns new things with ease. At the same time she can ask the dumbest questions without realizing what's wrong with what she just asked and doesn't seem to have much common sense. She's the kind of person who would try to put out a fire by pouring oil on it because it's a liquid. So being both smart and stupid in such ways she also underestimates her intelligence and doesn't like voicing her ideas. | Likes: Most animals, learning magic, flowers, not having too much excitement, people who don't have too high expectations of her | Dislikes: Fighting, being the center of attention, how barren the other countries are compared to Firene, how her parents praise he too much | Hobbies: Learning new spells, woodcarving, fishing, gardening | Talents: Magic, judging how trustworthy someone is, woodcarving, fighting with axes, making flower garlands and bouquets | Maylis and her parents are farmers in village in Firene. She had always enjoyed the quiet life there and doesn't really want things to change too much. Her parents often suggested that they could move to Elusia since it's renowned for its academy and Maylis has great potential, something a noble might recognize and therefore be willing to sponsor her, but she doesn't want it, both because she hates how so many Elusians worship the Fell Dragon and because she'd never get used to its climate. She also knew that as a commoner she wouldn't really fit in with all the noble students there. Her parents accept this but they still think she shouldn't be stuck with being a simple farmer. They became even more proud of her after a group of bandits attacked their village and she did her part in defending it with her magic while at the same time remaining hidden from them, as she would have never dared to face them directly at only nine years old, but she still doesn't think too highly of her abilities. Because of that battle she greatly admires Hias, a villager she doesn't really know much about and never paid much attention to, and was slightly disappointed when she heard that Queen Lucienne has made them her son's retainer since it means she won't get to see them as often. At the same time it made her appreciate her simple life even more as she hated the experience of fighting those bandits. However when Ralston and his group stopped by their village one day she reluctantly decided to join him, not wanting to disappoint her parents who keep insisting that she'd be a great help to their cause. | Heterosexual Biromantic | Pineclaw |
Brodia (2/2)
Astor | 22 | Female | Brodia | Laguz (Hawk) | Astor has yellow eyes and medium length dark-brown hair with some streaks of lighter brown and black. She is on the taller side. Her bird form is a huge red-tailed hawk and, like other bird laguz, she also has her wings in her human form. | Astor is a proud hawk laguz who loves to show off and prove her superiority. She can be a bit haughty at times but she tries to tone it down so she doesn't turn others away from her, knowing most people don't like braggarts. She loves to compete with others, either by sparring with them or challenging them to a race. While Astor enjoys having some company and likes to make new friends she tries not to get too attached to other kinds of laguz and humans, knowing very well that they all have different lifespans. She hates the thought of outliving her friends or them outliving her by many years so she tries to act more distant around anyone who isn't a bird laguz. Despite her attempts she quickly warms up to them and tries to enjoy her time with them as much as she can. Astor hates injustices and people who allow them. She looks down on anyone who lets people get away with something bad because of some stupid technicality and takes matters into her own hands by hunting anyone down who escaped justice or spying on Brodia for another country. She has gained a reputation for this and takes pride in it, secretly enjoying the weird titles she's known by though she denies the latter. Having taken down many bad people who initially got away with everything Astor has little faith in Brodia's nobility and royal family, thinking they're incapable of properly looking after their people. While she doesn't know them she also distrusts nobles and royals from the other countries, thinking they're probably not much better at it. She will follow the lead of Ralston and the other royals but she doesn't show much respect to them at first, at least until they earn it. | Likes: Flying, spicy food, sparring, parties, racing, hunting, thermals | Dislikes: When people get away with their crimes, cowards, indecisiveness, rain, bullies, the sea, how laguz and humans have different lifespans, nobles and royals who don't do their job | Hobbies: Hunting spies and criminals, competing with others, crafting, flying around riding the thermals | Talents: Telling how truthful someone is being with just one glance, spotting small things from far away, crafting, taking care of animals | Astor grew up in one of Brodia's many bird tribes and most there don't really interact much with humans or other types of laguz. As a kid she often defended her friends from bullies and since the adults didn't seem to do much to stop it Astor began to resort to violence almost every time, figuring that's the only way to deal with those bullies. Growing up almost no one tried to correct her in her approach so to her it meant that what she did was perfectly acceptable. One day a human captured and killed one of the other hawks in the tribe since a huge bird like that would sell for a lot of gold. While hunting laguz is against the law no one did anything because of how careful the poacher was about it. Since there was no evidence he couldn't be dealt with but Astor and a few others of her tribe knew what he had done. Figuring that the humans in power were useless when it came to justice Astor decided to deal with that poacher herself and after following him in secret for a while she finally killed him in her hawk form, making it look like a hunting accident. From then on Astor made a habit out of flying around Brodia, wondering if there were more bad people who didn't get what they deserved. It didn't take long for her to gain a reputation for slaughtering criminals and spies and while no one actually watched doing it most were convinced that it had to be her. Since her tribe doesn't interact much with humans most don't know her name and instead call her things like "Wings of Justice", "Hell's Talons" and other titles like that. | Prefers to fight in her hawk form but is perfectly capable of fighting in her human form too. She uses lances and javelins. Demisexual Homoromantic | Pineclaw |
Calais | 21 | Agender | Brodia | Dancer | Calais is about average height. They have medium length black hair that becomes silver at the tips and turquoise eyes. | Most would say Calais is hard to understand and even more difficult to get along with and that they march to the beat of their own drum. Their mind is everywhere that isn't the present, either focusing too much on the future or pondering about the past, and even when it is Calais still doesn't really seem to be all there, either just staring into space or making outlandish remarks and giving the weirdest explanations for their strange decisions. Sometimes they seem uncomfortable with the world, either like they don't really belong or are too familiar with it and understanding it in ways that others can not. As absent-minded as they are Calais is also surprisingly perceptive, often blurting out an idea or possible solution to a problem. At the same time they tend to be oblivious to being flirted with and innuendoes fly over their head, at least initially. Calais does realize afterwards, sometimes it's only a matter of minutes while other times it takes them days, weeks or even months. They don't like it when other people make things too complicated and often states a simple solution. They also think most people they meet are weird. That doesn't mean Calais dislikes them for it though, most of the time they think it's cute or charming. It takes a while for Calais to trust someone but once they do they are a loyal and reliable friend who likes to help others and have fun with them. Calais isn't too fond of fighting and isn't skilled at it either but they don't shy away from their duty either. They prefer battles were they can just stick to dancing though. It's rare for them to get mad but if they hate someone they show it in no uncertain terms. They're neither good at fighting with fists nor with words but it's not rare for others to fear Calais when they wish misfortune or death on someone. It's not even the way they say it, it's how luck seems to favor them. Their sense of direction is dreadful but they don't mind getting lost. As far as they're concerned they eventually get to their destination, even if it takes them an awful long time. Calais sees no reason to rush things and believes everything happens when it's supposed to. | Likes: Dancing, parties, peaceful times, stargazing | Dislikes: Their father, fighting, bloodshed, how obsessed many people of Brodia are with strength, stress | Hobbies: Learning new kinds of dances, daydreaming, observing everyone else's interactions with each other to better understand them | Talents: Dancing in any kind of environment, gathering information, avoiding danger, remaining undetected even when walking right through a group of enemies, getting lost | Calais' father, Jarek, is one of Brodia's most powerful warriors and a well-respected noble. He meant for Calais to become his successor one day but realized very soon that his child had less than no talent for battle. No matter what weapon they picked up, Calais failed utterly at using any of them and is only somewhat adequate at martial arts. To make things worse they also had a clear aversion to bloodshed and little to no desire to fight, instead having an interest and great talent for dancing. Jarek quickly decided that Calais was useless to him and that they were an embarrassment to his noble house. He stopped trying to train them and didn't bother with their education either. At one point he decided to get rid of them and Calais' terrible sense of direction made it all too easy to make himself look innocent. Jarek began to send his child on several errands, hoping that their talent for getting lost would lead them towards a gang of bandits or some wild beasts some day. Calais however avoided any danger on their travels and while it took them an awfully long time they always managed to complete their errands. Jarek was about to give up, realizing that Calais had an uncanny talent for staying out of harms way, but wanted to try it one last time when he found out that a big thunderstorm was coming up. As expected Calais managed to wander off to some place where there was no real shelter from the rain and the hail but always overly lucky and observant they noticed something strange about a wall of rocks in that canyon. Following their curiosity and gut instinct Calais soon found out that a secret passageway was hidden there and quickly took shelter in there. Sensing that there was more to find out about it they wandered deeper into it and soon found the secret entrance, or exit, of Brodia Castle. After surprising a group of servants with their sudden appearance Calais was brought before the king who immediately wanted to know how this stranger had managed to enter his castle. Once it was clear that no one had followed Calais here and that no one else has found the secret passageway, and also after asking them a few more questions about how they got here, he decided to make this weird dancer one of his heir's retainers. Having no real reason not to Calais accepted this position. While Calais often doesn't agree with or understands the decisions of the royal family they have quickly grown to like their job and have proven themself to be loyal and reliable. | Doesn't really care which pronouns someone uses to refer to them. Pansexual Demiromantic | Pineclaw |
Elusia (4/9)Ivora | 23 | Female | Elusia | Fell Child | Ivora is a bit taller than average. She has crimson eyes with golden flecks in them and medium-length orange hair with some streaks of red and yellow. She looks like she's in her early twenties but is actually much older. (Still need to do her dragon form) | Ivora is a proud and confident person who has high standards for herself, always eager to improve so she can stay one step ahead of her enemies. She's patient for the most part and doesn't mind waiting when a plan requires a slow and steady approach but she can get easily annoyed with people who are foolish, naive or too weird. She looks down on humans and her opinion of them has only worsened over the many years. To her they are just inferior creatures who take pride in their own stupidity. She especially looks down on those who worship the Fell Dragon, finding it insane that they would put faith in something that would gladly destroy them. Since they are her allies though she can't show her disdain too much since she needs them to be loyal to her and her father. Instead she makes them feel like chosen individuals worthy to serve their cause by not only speaking in front of the cultists as a whole but also by approaching them individually sometimes if they've done especially well and promising them that the Fell Dragon will surely acknowledge them for this. She doesn't dislike all humans though, among the Followers are some she can almost respect and she sees them as an exception. To them she can be genuinely friendly and actually means what she says. She might also flirt with them playfully, mostly because their reactions amuse her. As for those who stand against her, she'll make her disdain for them very clear and will be ruthless in battle. The only time she'd act nice towards an enemy is when it would somehow benefit her. Ivora dislikes all of the countries for different reasons. Brodia for giving Elusia so much trouble, Firene for its abundance and peace as she hates happy humans and because most of its people worship the Divine Dragon, Solm for being just another obstacle and a surprisingly stubborn one at that, Lythos for being the so-called Holy Land and even Elusia for how easily some of its people can be influenced, something that makes the 'Land of Knowledge' look rather disappointing. But while she scoffs at humans who are easily manipulated she also values them as they make things much easier for her. She loves to get not only the Fell Dragon worshippers but humans in general to listen to her. She knows how to rally and agitate them, getting them to see even those as an enemy who are actually fighting for them. Ivora pays close attention during every sort of interactions, never forgetting any important detail that might be valuable later on. That way she has already disposed of some allies who she no longer trusts or who simply failed her. By bringing up one minor detail from a long forgotten conversation that makes that person look suspicious, by deliberately taking some of those out of context, twisting their words or even making things up entirely but being so convincing that even the person she's trying to make look untrustworthy will believe her and question their own perception. Sometimes she will even use her skills to make those on the divine dragon's side look admirable, only to put a plan in motion that will make them seem incapable or even malicious. By boosting their popularity first those "failures" on their part will have an even more devastating effect on them. That way Ivora is trying to get her enemies to doubt themselves or even give up as she doesn't think they'd want to keep fighting if almost everyone in Elyos is against them. | Likes: Storms, sweets, worthy opponents, scary stories, flirting with and teasing her allies just to see their reaction, sparring, studying Elyos' history, learning about lost civilizations | Dislikes: The Divine Dragon, most humans, people who are either too stupid or too perceptive to fool, each country's ideologies, the sea | Hobbies: Reading and comparing written history to what she has witnessed herself, confectionery, training, inventing new spells, people watching, storytelling | Talents: Public speaking, quickly coming up with new plans for when something goes wrong so she and the others can either safely retreat or turn the tides, remembering even the smallest detail even when they seem irrelevant, all-nighters, travelling long distances with little to no breaks | Ivora was born in Gradlon and spent most of her childhood there. During the war between the divine dragons and the fell dragons she was to be kept away from the fighting as she was deemed too young for it and her parents wanted to make sure that at least one of their kin would get to live if they were to lose the war. Ivora disobeyed at first, facing some of the opposing dragons and showing that she was strong enough to hold her own against them. Eventually she tried to fight a dragon that proved to be too powerful and, too injured to keep fighting, she was forced to retreat, barely making it to a secluded part of a mountain range in Brodia and where her father had wanted her to hide in the first place. She remained there so she could properly heal and left as soon as she was able to but while it hadn't taken her long to recover she found that in that short time that had passed the war had been decided and neither Gradlon nor her family were anywhere to be found. For a while she flew back to "her" mountain range to try and think of what this meant for her and what she would do now. Soon she decided to wander Elyos in her human form, both to find out if there were any of her kin or the dragons allied with them left and if there was some talk about the now sunken land of Gradlon. People everywhere were speaking of the mighty Divine Dragon and how she and her kind as well as the dragon laguz from her land had put an end to the era of terror and darkness the Fell Dragon had brought onto Elyos with his invasions. Ivora's disdain for the divine dragons turned into pure hatred once the one explanation she had come up with, that the Divine Dragon Queen had used the Emblem Rings to seal Gradlon away, was confirmed to be the correct one. After a few years she ran into a group of dragon laguz who used to live in Gradlon and they too recognized her. They asked her to come with them to Elusia but to not show her dragon form there yet. She learned from them that recently dragons like them had moved to Elusia because they had heard rumors of the current ruler wanting to find the fell dragon and restore his power. Ivora was eager to join and offer her assistance but the dragon laguz advised her against it, instead wanting her to remain in hiding until they had something more concrete. She reluctantly agreed and decided to travel Elyos once more and learn whatever she could about the humans of each realm and how they would grow and change over the years. For a few centuries Ivora took on different roles, sometimes being a simple traveller, other times a beggar and once she was a bit older she also travelled as a merchant, courier, bard or mercenary. Every now and then she would return to Elusia to see how things were proceeding there and once the royal family there swore their loyalty to the fell dragon Ivora revealed her dragon form. The dragon tribes and some humans who wanted something to be done about Brodia's constant invasions were also waiting for the fell dragon's return and insisted she'd lead them until then. Ivora didn't want to take on such a role just yet and instead accepted the royal family's authority and told them she'd follow their orders but it still granted her one of the highest positions in Elusia. Over the years she made sure that more and more people became devoted followers of the Fell Cult and even now she still works closely with the royal family. During her time in Elusia she also had the chance to access the libraries of the Kingdom of Knowledge and spent years correcting any false accounts of important historical events and even found some old records about Elyos before Gradlon was sealed, something she often discusses with the few dragon laguz who still remember it. She also leaves some of them in charge when she spends some years wandering Elyos again to see how the kingdoms and the people there keep changing over time. | She can fight in both of her forms but usually sticks to her human form, using swords and tomes, unless the strength of her dragon form is actually required. Homosexual Homoromantic | Pineclaw |
Askaval | 17 | Non Binary | Elusia | Assassin | Askaval is of average height but may seem shorter as they often keep their head slightly ducked. They have somewhat messy short black hair and purple eyes with some small golden flecks in their left one. | Askaval is a timid and gentle person who is easily intimidated and hates seeing others being harmed. They are very sensitive and some might call them a crybaby for it as they tend to tear up over something as minor as someone glaring or raising their voice at them and also for how it's not unusual for them to cry after or even during a battle because they can't bear to hurt or kill other people. Anyone seeing Askaval for the first time wouldn't believe that they are a highly skilled and valued assassin and one of the royal heir's retainers, given how soft-hearted they are. Neither is something Askaval ever wanted to be but their loyalty to the Fell Dragon, the king and their liege compels them to just stick to it. They would have been expected to fight for the royal family anyway, given how Askaval is from a bloodline that has sworn eternal loyalty to the Fell Dragon in exchange for power. Askaval couldn't have gotten a worse ability for someone with their personality and they try to use it as little as possible, wearing an enchanted bracelet that serves as a limiter to suppress their powers. They only ever take it off if ordered to by their liege or if they themself think it's the only option. Since this ability makes them not only attack enemies but also allies if they stand too close and also how gruesome it is Askaval will always feel guilty after using it. Regardless of whether they use their ability or not Askaval often has to convince themself to kill an enemy, trying to tell themself that the ones they're fighting are trying to harm those they care about and that they are a threat to Elusia. It still doesn't make them feel any less bad about having to take someone down and Askaval often wishes that all this violence wouldn't be necessary and that they could live a quiet and simple life. Aside from not wanting to hurt or kill others Askaval also fears getting hurt or killed themself, something that makes them afraid of many things that might be dangerous. Despite those fears Askaval will do anything to protect their loved ones or even innocents that aren't involved in the conflict between Elusia and the ones opposing the Fell Cult. Thanks to their family's connection to the Fell Dragon neither Askaval nor their siblings have many friends as most people in Elusia see them as not quite human and think of them as higher beings that are above them but also as freaks of nature that are to be feared. Aside from their family the only other people Askaval feels close with are the assassin who trained them, the royal heir and their fellow retainer. They're fearful of meeting new people and more often than not have to fight the urge to hide behind someone they trust when interacting with them for the first time. It's hard for them to fully trust someone and even with those they consider to be close friends Askaval fears they'd just abandon them if they somehow disappoint them. Out of everyone they've sworn their loyalty to it's the royal heir Askaval will follow above everything and everyone else, even if it means going against the king or even the Fell Dragon, though the latter is something they don't think will ever happen. Both cases are something Askaval would have a hard time with, having been raised as a devoted Fell Follower all their life and feeling indebted to the king as he had personally sent his knights the second he found out that Askaval and their siblings Maska and Talia had run into trouble with some Brodians at the border when the three of them were still little kids. Askaval feels a great sense of duty towards anyone they owe something to, even if they aren't good people and may not have had the best intentions when helping them. While Askaval can tell right from wrong they still need a lot of convincing to accept that they don't have to feel obligated to everyone they think they're indebted to. | Likes: Peaceful times, helping others, having their fears and doubts taken seriously, being seen as a normal person, the night sky, how pretty the snowy land of Elusia looks under the full moon. | Dislikes: Violence, danger, scary people, their line of work, the Divine Dragon, Brodia, their ability, hurting others, warm places, how most of their talents are work related, people treating them differently because of their connection to the Fell Dragon. | Hobbies: | Talents: Moving around undetected, swiftly disposing of their targets without leaving any traces behind, identifying plants used for poisons, | Askaval is the ninth child of Finbar and the second one of his first wife Aldara. Like everyone in their family and also like most members of the Fell Cult they were taught how to fight as soon as they could hold a weapon though their parents and oldest siblings always made sure it didn't become too much for their age. One day Askaval and their two younger siblings Maska and Talia accompanied their half-brother Taran when he had an errand to run but as they soon got bored as they waited for him to be done the three of them ran off to play somewhere outside. Straying a little too close to the border to Brodia they ran into a small group of warriors from there who had crossed into Elusian land. Upon seeing that the three children were most likely nobles, and especially important ones at that, they decided to capture them and bring them before their king for surely he would appreciate such valuable hostages. The siblings immediately decided to flee, knowing that despite their training there was no way they could take on some adults at their age, but the Brodians soon cornered them. The second they got too close though Askaval suddenly began to fight, madly slashing at the Brodians with their daggers and moving in such a way no one could get a hold of them. They also seemed to know exactly where to strike their enemies to inflict the most damage to them, effectively killing one of them, crippling another one and wounding the third and fourth one badly enough they couldn't chase after the kids as they finally could make their escape. Only as they fled did Askaval notice that they had also attacked their siblings during their frenzy and it was only thanks to Talia's ability she hadn't gotten hurt. They didn't manage to run far due to Askaval being exhausted after that fight and Maska being more and more affected by his injuries. Being too focused on getting away they noticed too late that a second group of Brodians was chasing after them, this one much bigger than the first one. One of them managed to capture Maska and tried to kill him in front of his siblings to make them come along willingly but ended up dying himself when Maska used his ability on him. It startled the Brodians long enough for him to rejoin his siblings and the three tried to flee again, the Brodians chasing them soon after that. Just before they could reach them a group of knights lead by the king himself and some of their older siblings showed up and fought the Brodians off. Finbar, who had also been part of the group, and Taran, who felt responsible for not having looked better after his half-siblings, thanked the king and apologized for having allowed this to happen in the first place. The king rejected their thanks, stating that there was no need for that, but Finbar insisted. Then however the king turned to Askaval and their siblings and wanted to know if any of them had discovered their special ability. All three of them could confirm but it took a while to fully explain, neither of them really wanting to talk about what they had just been through. Then the king told Finbar if he still wanted to thank him he could send one of the three to the castle so they could be trained as an assassin. Usually the children of this family are only sent to the castle once they're twelve years old but the king wanted to make an exception this time. Feeling obligated because the king and his knights had just saved their lives and not wanting to put Maska and Talia through this Askaval volunteered to be trained despite dreading the thought of having to become an assassin. Their mentor turned out to be strict but also surprisingly patient and understanding in regards to their aversion to having to kill, always being willing to listen and sometimes telling some stories of his own training. Askaval never felt any better about their job but learned how to focus on the task at hand and just cry about it later. To their great discomfort their turned out to be a very quick learner and soon became a skilled assassin, even exceeding the king's expectations for them. A few months after their own training began Maska was sent to train at the castle too, albeit for something different. At first Askaval was outraged by this since their brother wasn't old enough yet and they should have been the only one to start their training too soon but they were told that due to his ability Maska needed a special training and that it had to start sooner rather than later to get the most use of it. For a while they accepted that until one day they walked in on one of his training sessions. Witnessing the brutal methods of his mentor Askaval used all their courage to step in and tell him off for his cruelty but was quickly told to stay out of it by both, Maska pleading with them to not interfere and his mentor telling them he would have to punish Maska for their insolence. After this Askaval reluctantly left them to it, not wanting to make it even worse but the damage was already done and Maska began to resent them. Askaval tried to be there for him whenever possible but soon Maska began to yell at them to leave him alone, sometimes screaming that he hates them and one time even using his ability on them. Eventually Askaval could no longer bear their brother's hatred and chose to avoid him as best as they could, no matter how much they still wanted to offer him words and gestures of comfort. After some years the king told Askaval that he wanted them to become his heir's retainer and, still feeling like he owed him, they accepted despite not really wanting to. Their family was incredibly proud of them and their eldest brother Ravis gave them a bracelet Talia had made. He used his magic to make it indestructible as the material wasn't that sturdy and about a year later he cast another spell on it with the help of their other magically inclined siblings after (royal) and (other retainer) told him all about how much Askaval hated their ability and how it could also harm Askaval themself if used too much and how the two of them hoped that Ravis, who was the greatest mage of Elusia if not all of Elyos, could enchant some trinket in such a way that it could repress their ability. Not too long after this Ravis and some other Followers were sent to recruit some new laguz from an island close to both Elusia and Brodia but only few of them returned. One year later Askaval still misses him greatly and considers his bracelet not only a gift from their little sister but also a memento of Ravis as that limiter was imbued with his magic. | Demisexual Panromantic | Pineclaw |
Maska | 16 | Male | Elusia | Halberdier | Maska has short black hair and blue eyes with some golden flecks in his right one. He's short for his age. | Maska is a very dedicated and devout Follower, living solely to do the king's and Fell Dragon's bidding. He is very obedient and does what he is told by those with authority over him without complaint or question. Some of the others would say he's way too serious for his age and has no sense of fun or humor, always focusing on serving the cult, looking down on the likes of Levia or Fiore and seeing their shenanigans as nothing more than a waste of time and a disgrace to the Fell Dragon. Maska likes to keep his distance from the others, only interacting with them if it is related to any missions as anything beyond that serves him no purpose. There are only very few people he let himself get close with and even with them he tends to be a bit awkward, not knowing how to navigate friendships as he has forgotten how to show affection. It also takes him some time to accept any kind gestures and with some few exceptions he always tries his best to push people away as nothing good comes from such displays of weakness. If someone can't take a hint and still bothers him Maska will lash out at them and sometimes even resort to threats or violence. Aside from that he tends to be very cold and detached and, when dealing with enemies of the Fell Cult, very ruthless. He often looks at things with a certain bitterness and he regards the other Followers with jealousy, especially his siblings. While he is cold and detached for the most part he sometimes gets surprising bursts of anger while other times he suddenly gets the irresistible urge to curl up somewhere and cry. Maska is often working on himself, doing everything in his power to make sure he doesn't disappoint his superiors and seems to be terrified of failures and mistakes. He's overly strict with himself, seeing what is a result of a traumatizing experience as a weakness he needs to overcome and a personal failing that he deserves punishment for. Maska is deeply ashamed of his panic attacks and afterwards isolates himself from others to cry in frustration or literally beat himself up over it as this is how he learned to deal with it. He also tends to flinch away if someone tries to touch him, even a simple handshake or a high-five being a lot for him, but he sometimes allows the few people he trusts to make physical contact, at least as long as they give him a heads up and wait for him to give permission. However none of his siblings are among those trusted ones and Maska shows a clear resentment towards them, rejecting any efforts to reconnect on their end. He used to be close to them but thanks to his mentor he has grown distant. Anyone who knew him from before he began his training can also tell how much he has changed, having once been a sweet and curious child who was doted on by his siblings and even some people outside his family and who gladly returned that affection. Those who hear about it but have only known him at a later point have a hard time imagining that this is supposed to be the same person. Maska himself says that that was then and this is now and that change is natural but sometimes when he's alone he misses those old days and cries for what those harsh years of training have taken from him. Only then and sometimes when he is with his friends can he admit that he's nothing but a broken shell of his former self and that he hates that things have turned out this way. But it's also with those few trusted ones that some of his old traits can surface every now and then and because of this he became very attached to them, seeing his bond with them as the only way to still have some sense of his almost forgotten self, though he has a hard time showing it due to not being used to having any positive connections in his life. | Likes: Proving his worth, serving the Fell Dragon, being around his friends, being left alone by everyone else. While there are probably more things he likes Maska isn't aware of them, not having thought of any good things in years. A small part of him also still loves his siblings. | Dislikes: Failing at something, the Divine Dragon, idiots, not being able to overcome his weaknesses, being touched, his siblings, his mentor, Brodia. | Hobbies: Training, trying to get better at using his own weapons on himself, listening to the wisdom of the older Followers. He never picked up any actual hobbies besides those. | Talents: | Maska is the tenth child of Finbar and the third of his first wife Aldara. He was trained the moment he could hold a weapon but, like his other siblings, only as much as was possible for his age. One day he, Askaval and Talia got to accompany their half-brother Taran for one of his errands but soon grew bored and instead of waiting for him to be done with it they decided to run off and play. They happened to run into a group of warriors from Brodia and as they talked about capturing them the three siblings fled. The adults caught up to them in no time at all and cornered them but Askaval stopped them from doing anything else, taking on the four Brodians all by themself with quick and precise strikes and slashes. Unfortunately Maska and Talia also ended up on the receiving end but while his sister was unharmed thanks to her own ability he had no such luck. Once Askaval had dealt with the Brodians they three of them made a run for it but were slowed down, Maska already getting weaker form his wounds and Askaval being worn out from having used their ability. Soon the three realized that another group of Brodians was chasing them, this one much larger than the first one. They quickly caught up to them and before he knew it one of the warriors was already grabbing Maska by his arm and yanked him back. His siblings stopped immediately, both because they could no longer run and because they noticed that the Brodians had caught him. His captor noticed his injuries and decided that Maska would be a worthless hostage and that he should kill him to make the other two kids come along willingly. Taking delight in seeing Elusians suffer, even if it's a child, he decided to slam Maska against a rock several times and then wait for him to die. But just as he was about to get slammed into it for the third time Maska suddenly activated his ability, not even realizing it at first until he was already fully healed and his captor suddenly let go of him. Maska wasted no time and rejoined his siblings while the Brodians were too startled by how his tormentor had went from perfectly fine to dying in mere seconds. Their shock didn't last for long though and soon they were going after the children again but were finally stopped by Elusia's king, some of his knights and Maska's oldest siblings and father.
Initially dismissing Finbar's thanks for saving his children the king suddenly changed his mind after learning about their abilities. He suggested one of them come to the castle and train to become an assassin. Eventually Askaval volunteered upon seeing how upset their siblings were about the idea and Maska was both grateful for it but also felt guilty for putting this on them, knowing full well that Askaval was the most sensitive and timid of them. He still felt relieved that neither he nor Talia had to beging any official training before they were old enough. A few months later however the king asked Finbar and Aldara to send him anyway, not to become an assassin though but a knight with a special purpose. It took long to convince them and they only agreed because they understood that with an ability like his he needed some extra training to figure out how to best utilize it. What none of them knew however was just what kind of training it would be, believing it wouldn't be too different from the normal one.
His mentor had special permission from the king to do whatever it takes to turn Maska into an effective weapon, no matter how cruel it was. Thanks to that no one could order him to stop even if they knew what he was doing.
The day he began his official training everything in his life was about to change, from his bond with his siblings to his very personality. Even the day it began his mentor went all out, not caring that Maska was just a child. He always seemed to find new ways to hurt him, beating and kicking him at first and later bringing in weapons too, and only became more relentless every time he showed any weakness, often yelling at him to stop crying and calling him weak or pathetic. Most of the time his mentor would bring in a prisoner afterwards or a cult member who had failed at a task so Maska could either kill or just hurt them with his ability. Other times he forced him to just deal with it, forbidding him from seeking out one of the healers and also not bringing him a target, arguing that Maska would have to build up his pain tolerance if he wanted to be of any use in battle. Sometimes he waited for his wounds to get infected before finally letting him use his ability on someone, this too serving to make him stronger and more useful. On some days his mentor would take out his bad mood on him by being even more violent than usual but he made Maska believe that he was only punishing him in place of his siblings whenever they've done something wrong. This lie would serve to slowly getting him to resent his siblings over the years.
One time Askaval happened to walk in on one of those training sessions and stepped in, telling his mentor to stop. Knowing that this would be seen as a weakness of his Maska begged them to stay out of it but his mentor was already saying that he would have to punish him for his sibling's insolence. At first Maska didn't blame Askaval for it but eventually he began to resent them. Things only got worse as all of his siblings would try to comfort him or secretly make things more bearable whenever they saw him but his mentor would find out almost every time. In turn his training became more harsh, as punishment for being so weak that he would crawl to his siblings for support, ignoring the fact that it had been them seeking him out. While Maska began to slowly resent all of his siblings, due to making things worse by being nice to him, because he believed his mentor often punished him for any of their failures and due to realizing none of them had to go through the things that he had, he began to hate Askaval the most, now blaming him for that one time they talked back to his mentor. It only got worse when his mentor came up with more lies, making him believe that if Askaval hadn't volunteered to become an assassin then Maska would have gotten a different training and mentor. None of it was true of course, the king had wanted Askaval as an assassin and Maska as a special weapon the moment he had heard about their abilities, but Maska needed someone to blame, to make sense of his awful treatment. He'd show his hatred more often, eventually outright screaming at him and one time using his ability on them. After those incidents Askaval finally left him alone and Maska both feels horrible for having driven his formerly favorite sibling away from him but also feels betrayed that Askaval would actually stay away from him.
After some years of training his mentor took him on some small missions and Maska did well on those, though he only knew so because his mentor wasn't demeaning him for once. One time though he took him to the border separating Elusia from Brodia, along with some other knights. At first things went well but then they reached the point where Maska and his siblings had been attacked by Brodians back then. Instead of fighting alongside the others Maska began to panic, not even registering what was going on around him and instead reliving the encounter with those warriors. It got even worse when his mentor suddenly grabbed him by the arm and yanked him back, yelling at him to stop embarrassing him and join the fight already. Realizing the kid wasn't going to do as he was told anytime soon he just tossed him to the ground and kicked him several times for being a weak coward and for wasting his training. Once they were back at the castle his mentor decided that Maska would have to atone for his uselessness in that battle, saying that the kicking and insulting hadn't been a punishment but had been necessary to snap him out of it. Instead of beating him or grabbing a weapon however he just handed the boy a dagger, telling him if he really was sorry then he'd have no problem to prove it by carrying out the punishment himself. Maska understood what was expected of him but couldn't bring himself to stab or cut himself so eventually his mentor did it for him by grabbing his hand and forcing him to injure himself. From then on this became a regular part of his training. His mentor demanded that he best learn to quickly injure himself because in some cases he would have to use his ability on someone who couldn't harm him. Despite his best efforts Maska never got over his hesitation and soon began to think of himself as too weak for it. He still tries to get better at it but so far he hasn't succeeded and sees it as a huge failure on his part, same for how he reacts to being at that certain part of the border or having his arm grabbed. Every time he panics because of it he just gets angrier at himself and does his dagger practice as punishment.
| Bisexual Demiromantic. While he only uses lances in combat, as usual for his class, he also always has a small dagger with him though he only ever uses it on himself, either so he can use his ability on someone who can't harm him or to try and get less hesitant about it. He's incapable of fighting or even being in the exact location where he and his siblings were once attacked by those Brodian warriors as he will suffer from panic-attacks there. The same thing happens when someone grabs him by the arm. | Pineclaw |
Rakesh | 19 | Male | Elusia | High Priest | Rakesh is a bit taller than average. He has dark green eyes, his left one having some golden flecks in it, and dark brown hair about shoulder length. | Rakesh isn't the most sociable person and isn't very good at being welcoming to others though he doesn't mind it too much as it's not all that relevant to him what others think of him. Thanks to how most people view him and his family he never had many friends growing up and would either spend time by himself or with his siblings. He sees the other cultists as people he shares a goal with and doesn't put much effort into building any meaningful relationships with them. All that matters to him is that they can all work together and rely on each other to get the job done. Rakesh can be a bit impatient with others and will complain about pretty much anything about them. He loves to complain in general, always finding something he can grumble about and it's rare for him to say something positive. Most of the time the highest compliment one can get from him is him not commenting on something at all. But while Rakesh will complain about literally everyone one can tell that with some he has no respect for them whatsoever while with others his comments come from a good place and most can easily tell the difference. Even someone who hasn't spent much time with him can sense the love behind his words whenever he grumbles about something his siblings did or didn't do. Rakesh can be a bit stubborn at times and doesn't like having to retreat in battle, even if staying would be a sure death sentence. He has mixed feelings about his ability as he loves the way it's both great for defense and offense but he hates how vulnerable it leaves him as any attack he fails to block will be more dangerous to him than it would normally be. Rakesh tends to get very annoyed with anyone who tries to tell him to be more careful in battle, especially because he knows they are right. He still allows them to stay close to him so they can protect him if necessary and he also appreciates it but he isn't exactly happy about it either and he'd rather not have to rely on them at all, fearing that others will look down on him for it. | Likes: | Dislikes: | Hobbies: | Talents: | Rakesh is the seventh child of Finbar and the third one of his third wife Evîn. Like his siblings he also learned how to fight as soon as he could properly hold a weapon though he soon found out that he preferred to not use weapons at all, instead focusing on Arts. He was also quick to discover his talent for magic and that he needed neither tome nor staff. When he was little he tended to be a bit uneasy around his half-siblings, thanks to how his mother would always voice their disapproval and dislike for them. It took him a while to really see them as family and it's mostly thanks to his older siblings, who didn't care what their mother said, that he tried to get to know his half-siblings. While he still loved his mother a lot he also became annoyed by how she talked about those other children and soon learned to avoid talking about them in her presence and no matter how much she complained about them he didn't let that stop him from playing with them. Eventually he also dared to tell his mother that she shouldn't talk about his half-siblings like that and got mad enough to yell at her and call her heartless when she ranted about how his older brother Taran shouldn't have told anyone when he noticed that Askaval, Maska and Talia had ran off when they had accompanied him on an errand he had to run, saying that there had been no need to alert anyone and that if those three had been captured or killed by the Brodians they would have only gotten what they deserved. After that Rakesh and his siblings Taran and Avani became more distant from their mother and instead spent more time with Aldara and Cylia, their father's other wives. When first Askaval and, a few months later, Maska were sent to the castle to get their formal training Rakesh envied them greatly at first as both of them got to start their training early while he had to wait another year. He envied Avani too to some extend but acknowledged that she was old enough so it was only fair. When he finally was trained by the knights and high ranked cultists he quickly learned how to properly use his ability, though he would often times get careless during missions and forget that using his magic that way left him more open to attacks over time as using that magic shield so much also wore him out and not only slowed his movements but also his body's natural healing process, making even minor injuries more dangerous. His overconfidence and carelessness have granted him more visits to the healers than most of the other trainees combined, something Rakesh is a little sensitive about. During his training he often tried to catch up with those of his siblings who were training for something else, wanting to know all about how they were doing. While he felt mostly pride and sometimes jealousy, depending on how important his siblings' positions were, he also felt great concern for some, especially his half-brother Maska who would often sit around somewhere crying or walk around with untreated injuries and react with fear whenever Rakesh or someone else offered to heal him with their magic. Soon Maska began to keep his distance from all of his siblings and the few times they still got to interact with him he would snap at them. In Rakesh's case Maska's source of anger was the fact that he was forced to start his training one year before him despite being too young while Rakesh got to train once he was old enough. Eventually Rakesh accepted that Maska wanted nothing to do with him anymore and sometimes feels bitter about it but he never says out loud that he finds it unfair as he knows Maska has very good reasons for having turned out that way. | Other | Pineclaw |
Fenra | 24 | Female | Elusia | Warrior | Fenra has long green hair and purple eyes with golden flecks in her right one. She's of average height. | Fenra is a relatively easy-going person and likes to just go with the flow. Most of the time she acts and talks in a way that would make one think she is taking things too lightly but she always gives things a lot of thought and always does her best for the Fell Cult. She is pretty affable with others, no matter if they are strangers, allies, her superiors or even enemies. With the latter she'll even be that way when she's in the middle of killing them. Despite her carefree attitude she always tries to set a good example for her younger siblings but she dislikes how she is the oldest now and has to take on the most responsibility. A small part of her is angry at her half-brother Ravis as with his death everyone has suddenly turned to her with their hopes, questions and expectations as the now oldest among her siblings but also misses him greatly and feels awful for sometimes blaming him. Fenra is very loyal to the Fell Dragon and despises anyone who doesn't want to follow his religion. She often visits the capital and sometimes smaller towns to find out if anyone is planning something that could harm the cult or the king. There she goes to the taverns and chats up some of the patrons, first making casual conversations and then slowly getting them to talk about what they either heard from others or what they themselves think of the current state of Elusia. She gets them to be more open and less mindful of what they say by playing at their desires, especially if it's someone who currently has problems in their relationships at home. Despite feeling no such kinds of attraction herself she knows how to get others interested in her, often having an easy time figuring out what to say or how to act to become appealing to them. Most of the time she doesn't let things get too far but on the rare occasion she has to she doesn't care too much, seeing it as just a means to an end though she does draw the line at seducing people much older than her. With them she still acts in a way that gets them interested but also doesn't get their hopes up for anything more than having a few drinks together and some innocent flirting. Whenever she finds out something relevant she'll report everything she knows to anyone in power, mostly Ivora and sometimes the king himself. If one of those she's trying to get information from tries to follow her, either because they're suspicious of her or simply can't behave and want her, Fenra quickly disposes of them before they can lay a hand on her by using her ability, often ripping them open with her dragon claws but most of the time she doesn't even need her ability to swiftly deal with those people, sometime she's glad about because she tries to not use it too much. While she is entirely devoted to the Fell Dragon a part of her doesn't want her mind and personality become overwritten by the Fell Dragon's will, something that would happen if she used her ability too much as with each time she activates it she loses a small part of her self. While the effects are small she knows she can't be careless with it and that after enough times she will lose more and more of her will and even her own self until eventually there's nothing left and she's nothing but a mindless puppet doing the Fell Dragon's will. | Likes: | Dislikes: | Hobbies: | Talents: | Fenra is the second child of Finbar and the first of his second wife Cylia. Her parents taught her how to fight and soon she knew what kind of weapons she liked to use the most. She often helped her younger siblings train and would stand up to Evîn, her father's third wife, when she was being mean to most of the children. At first she didn't like that her older half-brother Ravis was seen as the most dependable since he was only one year older than her but after a while was glad that she didn't have quite as many responsibilities. When she was twelve her official training started and she learned more valuable skills from the knights. She was happy that it didn't take long for most of her other siblings to be old enough too because as much as she loves her half-siblings she does have the closest bond with those she shares both parents with. One year after her her sister Kyren began her training and two years after that her brother Pedram. Fenra had soon proven herself to be one of the strongest among her siblings, especially with her ability which allows her to partially transform but she was taught to not rely in it too much it damages any limb that gets transformed and would make it harder or impossible to fight after using it. She showed that she could also fight exceptionally well when she didn't use her ability and was soon sent on small missions with the other knights. When she was sixteen she and those of her siblings who had trained for at least over a year were part of a small force lead by the king himself, fighting off a group of Brodians who had tried to capture three of her half-siblings. She didn't approve when Askaval volunteered to be trained as an assassin, knowing full well that they only did so so Maska and Talia wouldn't have to and because they felt like they had to repay the king but the decision had been made and there was nothing she or the others could say. Fenra had even more doubts about Maska being sent to the castle only a few months later. She soon had the suspicion that his training was a lot different than what the rest of them had and once she saw that she was right about it she often met up with Ravis, Kyren and Taran, hoping that as the oldest four siblings they could come up with something to help their brother. Nothing they tried seemed to do any good and in fact things seemed to get worse for him the more often they tried to help him out. Soon the younger of her siblings noticed too and also tried their best to make things more bearable for him but once again it only made things even worse. Fenra and the others had to watch as Maska grew more distant from them, especially Askaval, though Fenra never found out why, and also Rakesh, her little sister Imea and later also Maska's little sister Talia since those three began their training at the right age, unlike him. She didn't have too much time to focus on that though as she had more and more things to do but at some point she also simply accepted that there wasn't anything she could do about Maska's dislike towards all of his siblings. She still tends to watch out for him and the others, mostly to shut anyone down who tries to confront him over it. | Asexual Aromantic | Pineclaw |
Maéva/Jarún | 25 | Female | Elusia | Foundling | Maéva is a little taller than average. She has short dirty blonde hair and red eyes. While she has scars all over her body only three are always visible: a set of claw-marks that run down the right side of her face, barely missing her eye. | Maéva is kind and doting to most, especially those younger than her. She tries to look out for them and while she doesn't mind their antics and turns a blind eye most of the time she will step in if they're taking it too far. She's very devoted to the Fell Dragon and also works hard to not lose anyone's trust, especially that of Elusia's royal family who are among the few who know who she really is and that of the commoner family who took her in. She's all too happy about hiding her true identity from most but she feels a little bad for having to lie to her friends. Still, she makes sure she doesn't reveal too much about herself and most just know her under the name 'Jarún' and think she's a commoner from Firene who didn't agree with their ways. In battle Maéva is especially ruthless when it comes to dealing with people from her home country and every Fell Follower knows how much she hates Firene, though most don't know her reason for it. She despises Firene's royal family, feeling betrayed by them, and her desire for revenge drives her in every battle against that kingdom. Maéva is longing for the day where she'll meet the queen, king or crown prince in battle, wanting to reveal her true identity to them. Despite her immense hatred she still knows when to retreat if she were to struggle against any soldiers from Firene but even she is not sure if she could still be that rational if she were to fight her family, feeling that her hatred towards them might make that impossible. Still, she's willing to risk it as making them pay for abandoning her is what matters the most to her. | Likes: Sparring, looking after those younger than her, cats, learning more about Elusia's culture and history | Dislikes: The Divine Dragon, her family, being underestimated, people who ask too much about her life in Firene | Hobbies: Training, playing strategic boardgames, making toys, fishing | Talents: Accurately predicting the most likely outcome of battles, fishing, brawling, spotting someone's weaknesses, causing the most harm to an enemy group or their plans with the smallest amount of action | Maéva was the firstborn of Queen Lucienne and King Ruben and therefore the heir to Firene's throne. She often sneaked out of the castle, not wanting to be stuck inside all day or being around guards or servants all the time. However she never got too far, most of the time not even leaving the capital as the guards soon realized she was missing and caught up with her. Despite being disappointed she didn't mind it too much, seeing this as a fun game. When Maéva was six her brother Marceau was born, much to her excitement as she would finally have someone to play with once he was old enough. It never got to that though. A few days after her brother's birth she sneaked out again, her mother being busy looking after the new child and her father busy with his duties and with looking after his wife. This time Maéva managed to get pretty far from the castle, reaching a small forest near the capital. After playing there for a while she was found by one of the guards but before they could get any farther a huge monster attacked them. The guard did his best protecting her but stood no chance against that creature. Before it could kill and eat Maéva too however one of the two Elusian spies who were meant to test this monster stepped in, feeling sorry for the little girl. Thanks to him and the other Elusian Maéva survived despite her grave injuries though she doesn't really remember the monster itself. The two Elusians took her to their country, much to her dismay, and as soon as she was well enough she tried to go back to Firene. Soon enough she gave up on that and instead hoped that her parents would come get her. They never did, as they didn't know she was alive, and Maéva slowly learned to accept that no one would come for her. Vardan, the man who had saved her, offered her to live with him and his family for a while but the king didn't allow it. Elusia's royal family was furious with him for saving the crown princess of Firene but then decided to let the Fell Followers raise her, curious about how things would turn out. While they allowed Vardan to be her caretaker they insisted she spent most of her time with the higher ranked cult members for the next years and that no one else was to know her identity. Vardan gave her the name Jarún and told her that only he, his wife, the royal family and the most respected Fell Followers could ever know who she really was. Maéva grew up among the Fell Followers and soon she began to accept their ideals. After two years she was allowed to visit Vardan and his family more often and after another three years to live with them permanently, years in which she grew to resent her own family more and more for abandoning her. She began to believe that with her brother's birth they no longer cared about her and that they have deliberately let her get away so far from the castle. Maéva swore to make them pay for doing this to her and trained even harder in hopes of one day being sent on a mission to Firene. She made a habit of hiding her face whenever she was to go on missions outside Elusia, not wanting anyone who knew Firene's royal family to recognize her. The more her hatred for her family grew the more she felt at home with Vardan, even thinking of him as a father. Soon she also began to view his wife Liliya and their child Fiore as family. | Asexual Homoromantic | Pineclaw |
Fiore | 18 | Non Binary | Elusia | Wolf Knight | Fiore is very short for their age. They have medium length pink hair and golden eyes. | Fiore is an excitable and proud person, always eager to prove their worth to the other Fell Followers and having a high opinion of people like them. They always try to outdo others in training and in actual battle to earn the respect of those of higher rank within the cult and the royal family and to get acknowledged by the Fell Dragon himself one day. Fiore is still pretty immature though and it shows. While they are competent in battle they waste too much time taunting their opponents and trying to make themself look better than the other Followers. Despite that Fiore is still quite a threat, especially when assigned to missions of greater importance. They despise the Divine Dragon and those who worship them, especially the people of Lythos and Firene, and is especially ruthless when fighting them. At the same time Fiore can get a little careless and doesn't always take them seriously. This mostly shows when Fiore is dealing with Ralston or any of the other heirs, thinking they're not worth their time and would rather fight the rulers themselves. When they're among other Fell Followers Fiore tries to get along with them and cares deeply about their friends and parents. They also respect their superiors and always tries to impress them. Fiore dislikes how Followers have to fight alongside those who reject the Fell Dragon though and while they don't voice their opinion they make it clear otherwise by treating them like lesser creatures. They have no respect for people like that and especially hate those who betray them. Fiore never forgets anyone who turns against the Fell Dragon and despises those traitors, going so far as to ignore most other enemies just to punish them personally. | Likes: Impressing others, the Fell Dragon, wolves, being entrusted with important tasks, music | Dislikes: The Divine Dragon and the people of Lythos, traitors, anyone who doesn't respect the Fell Dragon, not being taking seriously, incompetence | Hobbies: Sparring, singing, drawing, making costumes, bullying Fáelán | Talents: Throwing daggers, singing, working with animals, climbing | Fiore was born and raised in Elusia, growing up with parents who worship the Fell Dragon. At fourteen years old Fiore began to go by they/them. Their parents Vardan and Liliya introduced them to other Followers at an early age and soon Fiore became determined to be just as devoted as the others. Among other things they learned how to fight as soon as possible and quickly decided to become a Wolf Knight. During their training Fiore befriended Enya, a wolf laguz from a tribe that lived on a small island near Elusia. She, too, was eager to prove herself and Fiore hoped that they could team up with her. Unfortunately the higher ups insisted that the more devoted Followers were to team up with those who don't worship the Fell Dragon, mainly to keep those non-believers in check. Fiore was paired with Fáelán, another wolf laguz from Enya's tribe, and the two of them despise one another. Over the years Fiore also befriended Jarún as she often visited their family and eventually lived with them. While Fiore doesn't know much about her, only that she's originally from Firene and apparently left because she hated how much they worship the Divine Dragon there, they trust her and enjoy training with her, even considering her part of their family. | Pansexual Panromantic | Pineclaw |
Fáelán | 21 | Male | Elusia | Laguz (Wolf) | Fáelán has short messy black hair and yellow eyes. He is shorter than average but only in his human form. His tail and ears are the same color as his hair. His beastform is a large black wolf. | Fáelán is usually a confident and friendly individual who greatly enjoys other people's company. He has a rather dark sense of humor and likes to joke with others but he's also empathetic and always willing to listen to other people's troubles. Being stuck with the Fell Followers however he is mostly quiet and reserved. He's often miserable around others and avoids them as best as he can and anyone who meets him in battle will see right away how unhappy he is. Fáelán hasn't given up hope however and while he has to tolerate the others mistreating him he does fight back from time to time, mostly by insulting Fiore. He also feels encouraged by the fact that there are plenty of Elusians who don't agree with the king and the Fell Followers. Fáelán wants nothing more than for Elusia to be free from them and if he thinks someone can change this kingdom for the better he would gladly support them. He'll do anything to earn their trust, no matter at how much risk it puts him. He also doesn't dare to speak up much, thinking that as a former enemy he hasn't earned the right to share his opinions. If anyone shows their distrust by being hostile Fáelán just accepts it, not daring to defend himself even if they are being unfair, out of fear that they'll see him being defensive as a sign of aggression. He's also uneasy around those who accept him, worried that he will lose their trust when he makes even a single mistake. He's a bit hesitant to actually befriend others but tries not to make it too obvious and he has a hard time just relaxing or enjoying himself, convinced that whatever happiness he has won't last. Thanks to how everyone he was close with turned against him because of the Fell Dragon and the crazy cult he fears that whatever friends he makes will get taken from him too. It's also the reason why he's a little uneasy around Ralston and his family, and those who worship them. While he does believe the Divine Dragons to be good he has a hard time trusting anyone who is too devoted to them. Even though he will go back to being his more confident self over time once he's accepted by most he'll still go to great lengths to prove his loyalty to the point of being reckless. | Likes: The terrain and climate in Elusia, howling, play-fighting in his beastform, exploring, snow, sneaking up on others to spook them | Dislikes: The Fell Dragon, how Elusia is run by crazy cultists, having others rely on him, people who place worshipping the Fell Dragon or Divine Dragon before anything else | Hobbies: Playing in the snow, exploring, swimming, howling, mocking Fiore | Talents: route-finding, quickly figuring out an enemy's strategy, holding his own when facing a group alone, taking advantage of any place's acoustics for his howls | Fáelán used to live on a small island near Elusia. The tribe hadn't interacted much with people from the mainland at first and while some wolves, like Fáelán, were curious about it they were taught that it's safer for laguz to remain on those islands around Elyos as not all humans saw them as equals. Things began to change slowly when a wolf laguz from Elusia came to visit. She never talked with the tribe and only interacted with the leader and his family so Fáelán never knew what they were discussing. While he was friends with the leader's son he didn't learn much from him, mostly because neither of them really cared too much about what the adults were doing. The visits became more frequent and one day the leader announced that the tribe was to move to Elusia. Fáelán didn't want to go with the others but while some were allowed to stay behind he wasn't as he was only eight then and his parents wanted to go with the tribe. He didn't feel bad about it for too long, greatly enjoying being on the ship and getting more and more excited the closer they got to Elusia. At first he even liked it there, loving the snowy mountains and the impressive buildings. While he did miss being on the island he quickly accepted Elusia as his new home. Soon however more and more from his tribe started to talk about the Fell Dragon, including his parents and his friends. On some days he tagged along when they met the Followers to learn more but most of the time he just explored the land, finding that learning more about it was more interesting than listening to some boring ramblings about the Fell Dragon. Over the years his parents tried to get him to become a Follower too, at first gently encouraging him but soon showing disappointment at his disinterest. They began to ignore him and if he still asked them to play with him they always told him that he should stop being so selfish and that his time would be better spent by listening to the religious teachings of this country. Fáelán began to spend more and more time apart from his family, either exploring the land some more or by talking with some other Elusians who didn't worship the Fell Dragon. Interacting with them made him even more uneasy about the worshippers and sometimes he tried to convince his parents and his friends that they were getting involved with something bad and scary. His parents showed even more contempt for him while his friends began to turn away from him. His best friend Cianán, the leader's son, tried to get him to join and told him if he asked the Fell Dragon for forgiveness he would make it really far in life. Fáelán still refused and tried to reason with him though he didn't really expect to actually be able to convince him. What did surprise him though was Cianán going so far as to attack him for it, actually lunging for him and biting him. Too confused and shocked to fight back Fáelán just fled from him that day and avoided him from then on. Refusing to worship the Fell Dragon didn't prevent him from having to associate with his Followers though, as the king expected all the laguz that had come over from the island to be part of Elusia's military forces. Since the king was a huge worshipper of the Fell Dragon Fáelán had no doubt that if they ever attacked the other countries, it would be motivated by the Fell Followers beliefs. Since the king didn't want non-believers to work together everyone who opposed the Fell Dragon was paired with a Fell Follower. Fiore became Fáelán's partner and the two hated each other from day one. He quickly realized that Fiore had nothing against laguz, as they treated most of them with respect, but since he didn't worship the Fell Dragon Fiore still treated Fáelán badly, viewing him as beneath them. Many times Fáelán considered going back to the island but he feared that Elusia would attack them if he did. Some wolves from his tribe thought the same but since they also didn't want to stay in Elusia they travelled to Firene. As much as Fáelán would like to do the same he also doesn't want to abandon Elusia, since it's still his home and only the Fell Followers make it a bad place. He's waiting for the right time to turn against them but will only do so if there's a chance that Elusia will change for the better afterwards. | Only uses his beastform in battle. Enya | 18 | Female | Elusia | Laguz (Wolf) | Enya is about average height. She has turquoise eyes and long, silvery hair though her ears and tail are white. In her beast form she is a large wolf with pure white fur. She likes to crush and mix berries and other plants so she can use them to paint different markings on her fur, mostly symbols relevant to Elusia and the Fell Cult. | Personality | Likes: | Dislikes | Hobbies: | Talents: | Enya used to live on a small island near Elusia but most of her tribe, including her parents, moved to the mainland when she was about five. To her it wasn't too much of a change as both places were cold and snowy and to her that was the most important part. She quickly grew to love Elusia and so did the other wolf laguz from her tribe. During her first year there her parents brought her along when they and some of the other laguz met up with some Elusians to learn more about the Fell Dragon. At first Enya was bored by those speeches but soon she and other children became a group of their own and some older kids taught them about Elusia's religion in a more fun and interesting way. During that time she slowly befriended Cianán, her tribe leader's son, as while they were second cousins they had never spent much time together before, neither his father Riacán nor her mother and Riacán's cousin Rathnait seeing any reason to as they never really acknowledged each other as family. Enya also got to know Fáelán better as he was Cianán's best friend but the two grew apart when Fáelán kept refusing to listen to the religious teachings of this country. While she never cared much about him she was still disappointed by this and soon began shunning him. She grew even closer to the other cultists when her father Jarlath began to voice some doubts and while she felt a bit conflicted at first on whether to listen to her friends and her mother or to her father she soon knew where she belonged when her father suddenly left Elusia, leaving her and Rathnait behind. For a while Enya missed him but eventually she was glad that he had left as he could no longer make her question her convictions. Over the course of the years she befriended some of the other Elusians and soon became best friends with Fiore. Wanting to become a Wolf Knight Fiore began to train with her too and both hoped that they'd get to pair up once they were old enough to join the older members on missions. To their great disappointment both got other partners instead as some people who didn't worship the Fell Dragon were expected to fight too and the king didn't want those to team up with one another, instead wanting loyal Followers to keep an eye on them. Fiore was paired with Fáelán, something that made Enya despise him even more, and she herself was paired with a guy named Jacek. Enya made it clear from the beginning that she hated him and Jacek wasn't too fond of her either, though he mostly seemed to be afraid of her, often calling her unhinged. The two of them have a hard time working together but usually get the job done, something Jacek is clearly unhappy with. Enya still spends a lot of time practising with Fiore so that on the off chance they do get to pair up someday they'll be a perfect team. | Other | Pineclaw |
Solm (3/3)
Zinara | 19 | Non Binary | Solm | Laguz (Lynx) | Zinara is about average height. They have yellowish and tawny hair and pale green eyes. Their tail an ears are of the same color as their hair. They also have six small black stripes on their face, three beneath each eye. Their beastform is a large lynx whose build and fur is perfectly suited for Solm's climate. In terms of appearance Zinara didn't get many "normal" cat traits aside from their tail which is slightly longer than that of a normal lynx. | Zinara is a mostly friendly and curious person, always happy to meet new people and see new places. They are very diligent and reliable, and ruthless in battle, especially if someone threatens those close to them. They're also intelligent and can be pretty sly but doesn't really show their competence outside of battles and tasks. Most of this can be hard to believe to anyone who sees the lynx though. Zinara is somewhat spoiled and loves attention, enjoying getting pet and fawned over in their beastform. They even try to get out of trouble by acting cute, often meowing or pawing at anyone who's mad at them. But while they mostly use this to their own advantage they also use their beastform if others are arguing, in hopes of distracting them and ending their in-fighting. They like to compete with others, whether it's sparring with them or racing them, and usually doesn't mind losing, it mostly motivates them do try harder. However if it's against someone they don't like they tend to walk off and pout. Zinara is very attached to those they're close with, mainly their parents, Vigran and (Other retainer) and hates being apart from them, especially when it's unexpected, for example if there's a sudden change to a plan and Zinara has to stay separated from Vigran for longer than initially stated. They're also uncomfortable with any other kind of sudden change and either get nervous and irritable, often expressed by pacing and chewing on their fur, or outright panicked, going so far as to try and get back to Solm Palace or wherever else they suspect the others. Zinara is also very perceptive of other people's emotions and mental state and uses their beastform to try and comfort those who are upset. They mostly do this with Vigran when they freeze up or panic, often giving soft mewls and either pawing at them or rubbing their head against them to distract them and assure them that they're safe if there's no threat. If it happens during battle Zinara tries to stick close and make sure that no one, friend or foe, gets near Vigran while in that state and vows during each battle like that to keep them safe. While Zinara likes giving and getting affection they don't like it when someone they don't know well invades their personal space and might hiss at them or, if in their beastform, swipe a paw at them as a threat. | Likes: Getting pets and treats, naps during the warm hours of the day, climbing the rocks in Solm Palace, parties and howling (no matter how dreadful their own howl sounds) | Dislikes: Cold places, sudden change without being warned about it, bandits and everyone else who dares to upset Vigran | Hobbies: Fishing, stealing eel from other fishers, taking walks during the evening or at night, rock and tree climbing | Talents: climbing, sneaking up on enemies and prey, spying, accurately guessing someone's strengths and weaknesses both physically and emotionally, adapting their fighting style to any situation | Zinara pretty much grew up around Solm's royal family, their mother Damira, a lynx laguz, being one of the queen's retainers and their father Kanat, a cat laguz, being a palace guard. It didn't take them long to figure out that he/him didn't feel quite right and started to try out going by they/them after turning eight. At twelve years old they were completely sure of this. They were trained from a young age and even back then no one had any doubts that they would one day become a palace guard like their father or even a retainer like their mother. When they were indeed offered the position as one of Vigran's retainers they immediately accepted and Zinara soon became very attached to the heir and thanks to their doting also became a little spoiled, learning to use their beastform and its cuteness to get what they want. During the time Vigran was kidnapped by a group of bandits Zinara often went out on their own, trying to look for them even after several groups failed, thinking they have to work harder than everyone else for not having kept an eye on the heir properly. Despite their efforts they could never track down the bandits, which only made them more determined. Eventually their parents forbade them from searching any further as Zinara kept pushing themself over their limit and showed no indication of letting up. After the bandits released their prisoner Zinara grew even more attached to Vigran, both out of guilt for having been unable to help them and to make sure it doesn't happen again, and developed a strong hatred towards bandits in general. Whenever there are rumours about bandits causing trouble somewhere Zinara secretly hopes it's that particular group so they can finally put an end to them and make them pay for traumatizing Vigran | Knows how to fight in both forms and uses daggers in their human form. They vastly prefer their beastform though, even when not in battle. Demisexual Grayromantic | Pineclaw |
Kirat | 17 | Male | Solm | Griffin Knight | Kirat is slightly shorter than average. He has short blond hair and green eyes. | Kirat is a very friendly and open person. He's sincere but can be a little naive and trusts others too easily. He sees no reason for secrecy and is very honest with almost everyone he meets, which can cause him to accidentally reveal secrets and weaknesses to those who shouldn't be trusted. The only people he distrusts right away are Elusians and bandits, at least if they openly reveal themselves as such. Since he sees them as a threat to Solm he doesn't hesitate fighting them and even if they surrender he doesn't think they should be allowed to live. He respects Vigran, Ralston and the other royals too much to openly disagree with them though and if they do tell him to stand down he'll reluctantly spare his opponent. He's a devoted follower of the Divine Dragon and wants to visit Lythos one day but while he does look up to the divine dragons there he won't treat them any different than he would any other royals. Kirat picks up different interests in a short time and drops them again almost just as quick, it's rare for him to truly focus on something for long If he does put his mind to it however he works hard and efficient. He can be a little insecure around those of higher standing but most of the time it doesn't last for too long, especially if they're friendly and don't care about it. When he respects someone and looks up to them he tries his best to impress them or at the very least not disappoint them. While he is usually terrible at figuring out who is trustworthy he can easily tell if someone is trying to scam him. He's pretty good at telling how much something is actually worth and doesn't hesitate to call the scammer out. Most of the time he doesn't assume any malice from them though, he often thinks they just don't know any better and that they really believed they were trying to sell something valuable. He may be a terrible judge of character and naive but aside from that most wouldn't call him actually stupid. Kirat picks up new skills pretty quickly and has an easy time learning new things in general. When it's not about human interactions he's very logical and when the squad talks about upcoming missions he's often among the first who can spot flaws in the plan. When he does dislike someone he can be really petty and he holds grudges for a long time. Especially if someone tried to harm his friend or thought they could take advantage of his kindness. He doesn't forgive such people easily and always tries to get back at them, even if it was something minor. He takes especially great delight in people getting what they deserve in an ironic way. | Likes: Animals, flying, parties, poetic justice, learning new things, gambling | Dislikes: Bandits, fish, cold places, scary stories, cooking, small spaces | Hobbies: Spending time with his griffin, playing card games, reading, trying to pick up new skills | Talents: Judging the value of something, perfectly imitating most animal cries, working with and caring for riding and flying animals, dancing | Kirat was born and raised in Solm as the third son of a minor noble. He grew up with griffins since his family breeds and trains them. While he wouldn't mind continuing that work he's glad that some of his older siblings, aside from his oldest brother who'll become the next head of house, are also open to it as he also wanted to become a knight. He began to train for it once he was old enough to wield a sword, first alone and then with his griffin Nihara. While he worked towards that goal with dedication he changed his mind when he heard about the Sentinels and instead trained to join them. His family wasn't too upset about this, both because either way he would help the people of Solm and because they're used to him changing his mind when working on something. They only made him promise to stick to his goal this time and so far Kirat hasn't had a reason to change his mind and fully intends to remain a sentinel. | Bisexual Biromantic | Pineclaw |
Javor | 23 | Male | Solm | Laguz (Peacock) | Javor has brown eyes and long blue hair that becomes greenish at the tips. Most of the time he braids it but he tends to try out different hair styles too that both look good and are still practical. He's slightly taller than average. His bird form is a large peacock and he always makes sure his feathers are in perfect condition, especially after a battle. He also has his wings in his human form but usually covers them up so they won't get dirty or ruffled. Somehow he manages to look dignified in nearly everything he does in his bird form, even if he does something gross, like tearing into his enemy with his beak, or something absolutely ridiculous. He usually is quick to clean off any blood that gets on his feathers unless he thinks it adds to his good looks but even then he doesn't like to keep it that way because he hates getting his feathers sticky. | Javor thinks very highly of himself and many would consider him arrogant or conceited. He often acts like just being in his presence must be an honor to those interacting with him and thinks it's generous of him that he doesn't actually expect any thanks for it. He's proud of his marvellous bird form and his various skills and he loves showing off the former to get the attention he thinks he deserves. There's nothing more offensive to him than being ignored or being written off as not too special and he will chase anyone who earned his ire around all day in his bird form, yelling at them and sometimes attacking them until they finally admire his lovely feathers. Javor has a keen eye for detail and beauty and could rant forever about things that are supposed to look good but don't because whoever made them didn't put enough effort in it. While he often considers others to be inferior to him, either in terms of appearance or skill, he tries to admire whatever other great qualities they have and compliment them on those. He also loves to make his friends happy and will pay close attention to everything they say so he can know every small thing they like or if they need something to be done. Javor remembers all those details but to make sure he doesn't forget anything important he often makes small lists too. He often gets other small gifts, either making something himself or buying it, or offers to fix their clothes or small jewellery they have. He also likes to fix the fences and furniture at the Somniel as well as the tents from there or the camps. While he loves to get praise for anything he does he tends to do those things in secret and will shrug off any thanks he gets when someone finds out. He does all those things both because he genuinely loves to see others being happy but also to prove he's worth having around and a good friend. Due to being told as a kid that no one would ever want to associate with him Javor becomes very attached to anyone who actually likes having him around and gets very possessive of them too. If anyone so much as even insults his friends he would hunt them down and make them regret everything. He can be surprisingly violent in battle and doesn't shy away from making it as bloody and gross as possible, just to show what happens to anyone who tries to harm his allies. | Likes: Pretty things, taking care of his feathers, compliments, being relied on, making others happy, watching the Wolf Fights, Solm, his work | Dislikes: Being ignored, not being perfect, his parents, Brodia's obsession with fighting, sandstorms, others touching his feathers without permission, getting his feathers dirty or ruffled, anyone insulting or harming his friends, laziness | Hobbies: Preening his feathers, strutting about in his bird form, sewing, making jewelry, giving gifts or otherwise do something nice for others | Talents: Sewing, woodworking, somehow still looking pretty even when covered in dirt or blood, remembering everyone's likes and dislikes, finding valuable material no matter how well it is hidden | Javor is originally from Brodia. He learned how to fight at a young age and was a quick learner but somehow his parents Timur and Gemma were never happy with him, always finding something to lament over. They would insult everything about him they could think of and citing even the smallest things as a reason why no one would ever willingly associate with him. Eventually Javor got fed up with everything, both his parent's constant put downs and how everyone he knew was obsessed with showing off their fighting skills. Not wanting to stay in this "barbaric" country he just left when he was twelve, wanting to find a better place to live. He had heard many things about the other lands and Solm sounded the most appealing to him. Eventually he reached his destination and found his way into a village. Many people were curious about the newcomer who had suddenly shown up and offered to fix their things if needed as he was always good at sewing and woodworking. Quite a few people were offering to take him in, not wanting a child to live on the streets, but Javor declined every time, thinking that the small things he does won't be enough to earn his keep. One day he visited the village's goldsmith, Altin, and immediately was fascinated with his work. For a couple of days he visited more often and watched him work, often asking him to explain what he was doing. Eventually Altin offered to teach him, seeing how interested the laguz was and wanting to give him a place to stay. Javor gladly accepted and over the years he not only learned enough to also become a good goldsmith but also found a new family in his teacher, who treated him much better than his parents ever had. He loves the life he has in Solm and only rarely thinks back to how he lived in Brodia, happy that he left that behind for good. | Can fight in either form. Uses knives and Arts in his human form. Lythos (2/3)Ronera | 16 | Female| Lythos | Laguz (Red Dragon) | Ronera has long brown hair that becomes more reddish at the tips and orange eyes. She's slightly taller than average. Her dragon form looks larger and tougher than other red dragons but still smaller and weaker than black dragons and her scales are a darker shade of red. The older she gets the darker her scales become. After a few hundred years they'll look black but not entirely, they will have a red shimmer that's visible when under sunlight and near fire. | For the most part Ronera is a friendly and excitable person but as much as she loves being around others she doesn't share much about herself with them, taking a long time to trust them. She hates having to rely on others, fearing that they will only disappoint her. She enjoys her freedom and has a hard time taking orders from any leaders, at least until they win her trust. Ronera hates when the strong gang up on the weak and often interferes in such battles, even if it has nothing to do with her or her friends and distracts her from the group's goal. Since she has the appearance and abilities of an ordinary red dragon most underestimate her, only for her to send them running with just her claws and her tail, not even having to use her fire. She also steps in when there are smaller arguments between others, at least when she thinks one side is in the wrong or being unfair. Even then she likes to use her dragon form and either roar at them, poke them with her claws or threaten to swat them away with her tail. She doesn't really care that most of the time it's none of her business and readily admits that she tends to "stick her tail where it doesn't belong" but she just can't hold herself back when others rile her up like that. Even when she doesn't use force or threatens to do so she will confront whoever she perceives as mean or unfair and shoves her opinion down their throat. Usually she's only rude or aggressive towards people who somehow deserve it, either by abusing their power or by being shady, but Ronera also has a disdain for people who talk positively about their families. She makes snide remarks when they have anything good to say and even if she keeps her mouth shut she glowers at them or rolls her eyes in annoyance, thinking anyone who likes their family is naive. Another reason for this is that she is jealous of them, though she isn't aware of it. She also feels the need to prove herself to other dragons, not wanting them to see her as lesser for being a red and black dragon hybrid. While she hasn't encountered many dragon laguz who judge her for it those who shamed her for her parents had a great impact on her as she was still very little when she met some of them and then met other judgemental ones while she was looking for validation when she was a bit older. She looks for any weakness in other dragons and sometimes teases them about it. She does her best to stop it as soon as possible though when she realizes they are insecure about it and quickly apologizes. Ronera speaks her mind after all, both positively and negatively. Unfortunately for her she often speaks without thinking and it's not rare for her to accidentally make it sound violent, sexual or both. She does realize it most of the time but by then it's already too late and she's already halfway through such sentences. It gets even worse when she gets teased about it as she only digs herself deeper when she threatens them. | Likes: Flying, thunderstorms since she likes to try and roar louder than the thunder, storms in general, people who don't judge her for her parents, sparring, warm places | Dislikes: Family, thunderstorms when there's no shelter, people who demand she trusts them right away, rules, hierarchies, relying on others, clingy people, bullies, cold places | Hobbies: Long and solitary flights, sparring with other laguz, out-roaring thunder, | Talents: Foraging, spying, remaining hidden even in her huge dragon form, tail-fighting, making shelter pretty much anywhere | Ronera was born and raised in Lythos. Her mother is a Black Dragon and her father a Red Dragon. They have always been arguing but it got even worse when their daughter was born. Soon enough each tried to turn her against the other while Ronera just tried to get her parents love and affection. It got only worse when she transformed for the first time as her dragon form was a spitting image of her father's, something her mother could never accept. She demanded that Ronera never used her dragon form in front of either parent, both so she wouldn't have to look at it and her father wouldn't get to feel superior for it. Because of this Ronera spent most of her days alone, playing outside and, since neither parent could be bothered, teaching herself how to fly. The better she got at that the further away from home she dared to fly each day. Her parents didn't really care how much time she spent away from them but whenever she stayed away for longer than two days they would use this as another reason to argue with each other. She did try to get along with the other dragons who lived nearby but was shunned when she played with some other dragon kids and scared them by playing too rough, not having realized yet that she was much stronger than other red dragons. Some of the adults saw this as proof that she's violent and only trying to intimidate others and that she's messed up like her parents. While she didn't quite understand it at first, due to her age, those words always stuck with her and as she grew older she began to see that her parents are indeed bad. Out of an instinct that told her that she really would grow up to be like them if she stayed Ronera decided to leave her parents when she was fourteen. At first she tried to join her mother's former tribe, hoping they would accept her, but a black dragon around her age spotted her before she could find anyone she could ask. He challenged her to a fight, claiming that this tribe only accepted strong dragons, and easily won, mocking her and trying to chase her away. Even though she knew the black dragon was stronger than her she tried again, even managing to catch him by surprise and momentarily pinning him down. Instead of just throwing her off, like he easily could have done, he cried out to his tribe, claiming that Ronera had attacked him out of nowhere and acting like he was just a helpless victim. As the son of the tribe's leader the other dragons were quick to believe him. His lie became even more believable when Ronera tried to explain herself and shifted to her human form to look as unthreatening as possible. The tribe saw the similarities between her and her mother, who had been known to be a manipulative liar in the tribe, and saw her "unjustified attack" on the leader's son as proof that she's "twisted and wrong" like her mother. They told her she was to stay away from their tribe and to not show herself in the nearby areas either. Since joining her mother's former tribe was no longer an option Ronera decided to just live on her own, mainly out of fear that every other tribe would turn her away too. While she did pretty well alone she was glad when she met some other young dragons who had no family and joined them, figuring that surviving in a group is easier than alone. | Only fights in her dragon form. She can defend herself in her human form but isn't very skilled. Homosexual Homoromantic | Pineclaw |
Orion | 14 | Male | Lythos | Laguz (White Dragon) | Orion has messy white hair and icy blue eyes. He's about average height. His dragon form is a less pure shade of white than usual for a white dragon. Some scales on his back and tail are light grey and his wings are mostly white but become a pale shade of pink at the tips. His body is covered with scars, something he tries to hide in his human form. | Orion tends to be a bit shy around new people and even when he gets to know them better he is always a bit uneasy. He hates upsetting others and either keeps his distance or, if he has to interact with them, agrees with everything they say and does what he's told. If they're angry with him he mostly accepts it but might get violent if he feels threatened. He likes to help others but can be a little pushy sometimes, not taking no for an answer and doing stuff for others without being asked. Orion tends to blame himself for anything that goes wrong, even when it makes no sense for him to think that, and tries to avoid the others, fearing they hate him for whatever he feels guilty for. He likes to be alone but he also loves having some company, especially if they try to get him to have some fun and distract him from his thoughts. Orion feels insecure around other white dragons because of his weaker magic and prefers the company of red and black dragons who, like him, are more about physical strength. He's also uneasy around Divine Dragons, thanks to how his father lost faith in them because of him, and fears that they will see him as a curse too. While Orion is obedient for the most part he might go against orders if he strongly disagrees and he can be very stubborn, not letting anyone talk him out of it. While he does fear the possibility of making them angry he fears going against his morals even more. | Likes: Seeing new places, helping others, dogs, teasing others and playing small pranks on them, sunsets | Dislikes: The Fell Dragon and the Divine Dragon, thunderstorms, people who talk badly about his father, swimming and other activities where he can't hide his scars when in his human form, disappointing others | Hobbies: Training, doing small favors for others, reading, daydreaming | Talents: Sewing, brawling, remembering even the smallest details, crafting | Orion's mother was a mixed dragon, her parents being a red and a white dragon, while his father is a black dragon. Despite that he turned out to be a white dragon himself. His mother died in childbirth and his father did his best to raise him alone. At the same time however he blamed his son for the death of his beloved and over the years it became harder for him to hide his resentment. Sometimes he would lash out at Orion, both verbally and physically, and always become wracked by guilt later. So Orion grew up with a father who both loved and hated him and there was never a time when he knew for sure whether his father would show aggression towards him or kindness. He just accepted this uncertainty as normal, especially since he didn't know many dragon laguz his age who could tell him otherwise as his family wasn't living with one of the tribes and only visited them occasionally. The first time his father took him to meet some other dragons Orion immediately noticed that all the kids he played with had two parents. Curious and too young too know any better, he asked his father about it on their way home, wondering why he had only one parent. This was the first time his father beat him and accused him of killing his own mother and Orion quickly learned to never bring it up again. But despite that it got worse over the years and there were times where his father told him that he wishes Orion had died instead of her, only to apologize tearfully after such outbursts, shocked that he would ever think that about his son. He began to try to convince Orion to find someone else to raise him, believing his son deserved a better father, but at the same time he secretly wished for his son to stay as he would miss him dearly. Orion refused to leave, much to his father's delight but also his disappointment. About a year later it turned out that he had been right to be worried about his son's safety if he stayed. His sudden fits of rage became even more overwhelming, with an especially bad one leaving Orion near death. Horrified by this he decided that he couldn't be around his son any longer and that he had to leave Lythos if he wanted the kid to ever be safe from him. Soon after Orion recovered from his injuries his father left, telling him to not look for him and apologizing for being such an awful father. Orion pretended to agree but soon began to look for him anyway. Lately he has heard rumors that his father has been seen in Elusia and that he became a follower of the Fell Dragon. He fears that this is true as his father has often questioned whether the Divine Dragons are worth worshipping and wondered if Orion was meant to be a curse sent by them. | Orion is mute and mostly uses sign language. If he meets someone who doesn't understand him he tries to find something he can write on. He can fight in either form but prefers his dragon form. He's physically stronger than the average white dragon but his magic is less powerful. Demisexual Demiromantic| Pineclaw |
Cenric | 20 | Male | Lythos | Martial Monk | Cenric is slightly taller than average. He has short spiky golden hair and brown eyes. | Cenric is a mostly friendly and confident individual. He always tries to see the best in people and likes to be optimistic. He always encourages others to think positive and or at the very least take a step back an reassess the situation when they seem to be overwhelmed by their problems and worries. Sometimes his tendency to stay positive can make him look insensitive or clueless but he usually can tell when it's not appropriate and will offer more practical and useful advice instead. He doesn't really get it when others just want someone to listen though and isn't quite sure what to do then as he'd rather try to actually help them, not always understanding that sometimes it's already enough to just have someone to talk to. Cenric is a devoted follower of the Divine Dragon and often takes strength from his faith when things are looking bleak. Sometimes he can be a little judgemental of those who don't share his beliefs but reminds himself that there's nothing wrong with believing in something else. The only exception or those who worship the Fell Dragon and Cenric will show his more violent side around them. He doesn't even try to reason with them as he considers them to be hopeless anyway. The same goes for any criminals who either got away with their crimes entirely or didn't receive the proper punishment. Cenric considers himself to be among the latter as he blames himself for not having prevented his friends from locking another kid from their village into an abandoned barn over night, even though he was a child himself and couldn't have done much against them anyway. He despises his childhood friends and made it his mission to track them down and kill them for what they have done, hoping by doing this he can atone a little. He'll also strike down anyone else who he knows to be a horrible and dangerous person so they can't harm anyone else. He fully believes this is his purpose in life and even his holy duty as a faithful follower of the Divine Dragon. Once he is done with his quest for justice and atonement he plans on confessing to those murders and face whatever punishment is deemed appropriate, even death. While he focuses his hatred on his former friends, himself and anyone else who deserves it there are times where it gets misdirected. He tries to shrug it off and justify it but knows very well that it wasn't right. It only adds to his self-loathing which in turn makes him even more eager to help out others as by focusing on other people's issues he doesn't have to think about his own. Despite his more selfish reasons he also does so because he genuinely cares about his friends and doesn't want them to feel as bad as he does. | Likes: The Divine Dragon, pretty much everything about Lythos, offering advice, people who stand up for what is right, lizards, learning about other people's beliefs | Dislikes: The Fell Dragon and his followers, loud people, himself, cowardice, Brodia's obsession with strength, having doubts about his convictions | Hobbies: | Talents: | Cenric was born in a small village in Brodia. He used to be a timid child but thanks to his parents' encouragement and training he soon became much bolder and it didn't take him long for the other kids in the village to look up to him. His parents taught him that strength and courage were what makes a true Brodian and that the weak or fearful didn't tend to live long here. They told him that the strong had a duty to help the weak and while they meant that he should try to protect those who were weaker or more fearful than him Cenric, thanks to his own change from timid to brave, thought it meant that the strong were to fix the weak and fearful. His parents never realised their son's misconception about this and Cenric never thought that he had the wrong idea either. At first it didn't even become an issue as his friends weren't weaklings or cowards either and loved to spar with one another or prove their courage by going on scary but ultimately harmless dares. Over the years new people moved to the small village, including families and their children. One child caught Cenric's attention because of how timid he was. Still thinking that he and the others were supposed to "fix" traits like that he one day approached the kid and tried to convince him to spend one night in an old, abandoned barn not too far from the village. Since there were rumours about that place being haunted Torma refused, no matter how much Cenric or his friends tried to get him to try it anyway. Eventually they ended up forcing him by claiming they took some of the tools his father needed for his work and hid them in the barn. Not wanting his father to not be able to do his job because of those missing tools Torma went into the barn to retrieve them, not knowing that they others hadn't actually taken them and only lied to him. As soon as he was inside they quickly bolted the door and hid in the area, planning to let him out first thing in the morning and congratulating him for having spend a whole night in that scary place. Not everyone was happy with the plan, Gavan tried to convince the others to come up with some other plan to make Torma a bit braver or to leave him alone entirely. Cenric wouldn't hear any of it and threatened to lock him in there too if he tried to let him out early. The other three agreed with him and Gavan was forced to back down. After a few hours a bandit approached the barn, soon followed by another. Fearing what the bandits would do to them if they found them Cenric and the others fled, running back home and staying there for the rest of the night. During that night the bandits, who used the barn as a meeting place once every few months, stumbled upon Torma and killed him, not wanting him to reveal one of their meeting places and tossed his body in a nearby field. Cenric and his friends figured this out but no one dared to speak up, fearing that the bandits might kill them too if they told anyone about them using the barn but also because they feared how their parents would punish them for indirectly causing the death of someone. They decided to keep it all a secret and lived with that guilt ever since. Cenric felt especially guilty for it as he had been the one who had come up with that idea and also had threatened a friend who wanted to stop this. Over the years his memories of the event become muddled up and eventually he believed that he had been the one who was against it and that Gavan had been the ringleader of their group of friends. During that time Cenric and his parents had left Brodia and moved to Lythos as Crevan and Tierra hoped that maybe following the Divine Dragon religion would help their son overcome whatever he was struggling with. Cenric became a devout follower of the Divine Dragon and picked up learning white magic, hoping by becoming someone who helps people he can atone a little for what he had done. He also grew to hate his old friends and swore to kill them one day, intending to confess to everything once he had done that and accept whatever punishment he would be given. Sometimes he's overcome by doubt and isn't sure if he should really go through with it and that maybe his old friends were feeling just as guilty as he does. Now he's waiting for a sign from the Divine Dragon to show him whether this quest for justice and atonement is really something he should undertake. | Pansexual Panromantic | Pineclaw |

Bijou | 20 | Male | Small Island | Laguz (Snow Leopard) | Bijou has silvery eyes and white, grey and black hair around shoulder-length, white being the dominant color. He also has a tail and snow leopard ears. He's of average height. His beastform is a huge white snow leopard. He takes great care of his fur but also doesn't mind getting it dirty in battle or during journeys. Dust, mud or blood doesn't diminish his stunning beauty, or so he says. | Bijou is an energetic and curious snow leopard laguz. He can't sit still for long, always needing something to do. He's a bit vain, at least when in comes to his beastform. Bijou thinks his kind are the most stunning laguz in existence and he's a particularly fine specimen. He likes to use his beastform to get what he wants as surely no one can resist such a beautiful creature and he thinks every laguz should use their non-human forms to their advantages too instead of only using them when necessary. Bijou hates senseless violence and doesn't think much of Elusia's obsession with the Fell Dragon and how Brodia cares too much about strength. Still, he finds the different cultures in Elyos fascinating and wants to learn as much as he can. Sometimes this can distract him and he can be crazy enough to suddenly bombard a group he's fighting with questions about their home. Despite of all this he is not to be underestimated in battle, he may not look like it but he knows what he's doing. When dealing with others outside of battle Bijou usually thinks before he speaks and isn't half-bad at negotiating. He's also perceptive of other people's emotions and state of mind and can be very understanding. It's rare for him to be insensitive. He does however blurt out every thought that crosses his mind if he's curious about their way of life and the same also happens when he's having a crush on someone. The latter happens way more often to him than he'd like to admit, Bijou is someone who falls in love very easily and says the weirdest things around the unfortunate one who's got his attention. On top of that he'll often be in his beastform around them in hopes of impressing them with his pretty fur, especially at night where the moonlight makes his pelt even more stunning. He's terrible at flirting and everyone who watches him is likely to die of secondhand embarrassment but he either doesn't notice how awful he is at this or he doesn't care. | Likes: Fish, meat, climbing, hunting, travelling, writing, meeting new people, his beastform | Dislikes: Hot places, vegetables, fire, being ignored, poachers, when others aren't taking care of themselves | Hobbies: Keeping his fur in perfect condition, hunting, collecting small pretty objects, visiting new places | Talents: Playing the piano, navigating, brewing tea, weapon maintenance | Bijou is part of a tribe of snow leopard laguz who live on a small island to the north of Brodia. He's the firstborn of the tribe leader and is expected to lead the tribe himself one day. Bijou has no desire to do so, neither wanting nor trusting himself to have such a huge responsibility. He hopes that one of his younger siblings could take over instead but his youngest brother Kuon is too timid and shows no indication of growing out of it and Bijou's twin Jialan, while having all the qualities of a good leader, is not expected to outlive their father. Jialan was cursed when a small group of Elusians came to the island in hopes of recruiting the snow leopard tribe to the Fell Followers. The cultists were chased off and some of them were killed as a warning so Elusia's king wouldn't try to send anyone again. During that skirmish Bijou killed a powerful mage who used his last strength to cast a curse that would tremendously shorten his lifespan but Jialan quickly pushed themself between them, not about to let this crazy cultist curse their brother. About a year after this Bijou left the island. He'd always been curious about what Elyos was like but now it wasn't the only reason for his departure. He wants to find someone who can remove the curse from Jialan but in case he doesn't succeed in that he at least wants to learn as much as he can about the world so he can become a wise leader to his tribe one day. Bijou has seen many places so far though he has yet to visit Solm as he knows he would hate the climate there. He's also avoided getting involved with any conflicts until now but lately he's heard rumors about a group lead by the Divine Dragon's son that tries to stop the Fell Followers. | He can fight in both forms and doesn't really prefer one over the other in battle. Uses swords and axes in his human form. Outside of combat he likes his beastform more though because of how irresistible (in his opinion) it looks. Pansexual Panromantic | Pineclaw |
