Cloudedpaw didn't let up his stride. If he had anything, it was stamina, and her stumble let him get closer to her. He caught a glimpse of Snowpaw's pelt and tried to call out to her, but he stumbled over the vole in his jaws. He blinked in annoyance and figured he could chase her until she got tired.

Snowpaw pushed herself to go faster as she weaved through trees and under bushes, trying to make her scent hard to follow, then she leaped onto the bark of a pine and started clawing her way up to the lowest branch, which was fairly high up and flattened her body against the branch, hoping she looked more like a mound of snow than a cat. Her eyes scanned the area, looking for Cloudedpaw.

Cloudedpaw tried to stay on her trail, but eventually lost her to the trees. He skid to a stop, panting around the vole, and looked around. He cursed when he couldn't see her, lashing his tail in anger. What was he supposed to do now? If he took the time to go find a warrior, Snowpaw could have already been carried off. He took a step forward and hissed slightly. He looked at his side, only now remembering the cuts that lined it and the poultice that Silverfrost had applied, though it had mostly fallen off by now. Never mind. He thought to himself, I'm not important right now.

Snowpaw pressed up against the back of the tree, surprised to find there was nothing there, only to realize she had crept into an owl nest. She held her breath, luckily the owl were asleep since they're nocturnal. If she creeped back out of the hole, Cloudedpaw would notice her, if she didn't, she risked waking up the owls. Weighing her options, she assumed the confused apprentice wasn't as bad as the owls, so she slowly and silently crept out, carefully placing ber paws so she wouldn't fall off the branch.

Cloudedpaw's ears pricked as he heard the rustling of a tree branch. He looked up, noticing the movement of fur. Snowpaw! Cloudedpaw almost went limp with relief. He set the vole down and cleared his throat, trying to get her attention. "Care to explain what's gotten your fur in a twist now?"

Startled by Cloudedpaw's sudden mew, she misplaced her footing and slipped, digging her front, right, paw's claws into the branch, her body hanging from the tree, tail puffed up with fear.

Cloudedpaw's eyes widened. He cursed again before starting to run up the tree, hoping he could manage to grab her before she fell. Please, please let him grab her.

"Cloudedpaw! I'm slipping!" She squeaked in fear, her claws slowly dragging down the loose bark that hugged the branch.

Cloudedpaw scrambled onto the branch and snatched Snowpaw's scruff with his jaws. He could feel the cuts in his side sting as he stretched, but luckily, it only made him clench his jaw harder.

Snowpaw shut her eyes as her claws slipped off the bark and into loose air, but not a heartbeat later teeth clamped her scruff and pulled her upwards. The white she-cat dug her claws into the branch and looked at CLoudedpaw. "Thanks. ... and sorry," she mumbled, unaware of his wounds.

"It's fine..." Cloudedpaw said, panting slightly and trying to ignore the sting in his side, "Just...don't go running off like that again. You could've gotten seriously hurt. The forest is dangerous by yourself, and nobody wants you to turn up dead."

"It's not like it matters. No cat would even notice I'm gone." Snowpaw murmured, her voice almost inaudible.

"Don't doubt how much your clan cares about you." Cloudedpaw tried to assure her, "Even if you don't think about it, your clanmates care about you. Stormheart would be devastated if you were gone. The apprentices' den would feel emptier. Cats would be listening for you when sharing tongues, only to remember that you're not there."

Snowpaw lashed her tail, uncertain how to answer and made her way down the tree. "Let's get down before we wake up all the owls in the forest." She purred in amusement.

Cloudedpaw just nodded, leaping down and stumbling slightly. He looked at his side. A couple of his cuts had been pulled open again, and blood was beginning to bubble at them. He sighed slightly, as it seemed like they were the only ones that had ripped open. The others had scabbed over enough that he hadn't completely undone Silverfrost's work. "Apologies for cutting your forest time short, but could we head back to camp? I think we've had enough time running around the entire territory."

"Alright," Snowpaw agreed as she looked over at him, noticing the wound. "Oh, a- are you alright?" She asked in shock, feeling guilty that she made him go with her when he was wounded.

"I'm fine." Cloudedpaw said, covering his side with his tail, "It's not nearly as bad as it could be. And it isn't your fault, I'd forgotten they were even there." He wasn't completely lying, he actually had forgotten about them while he'd been panicking.

Cloudedpaw nodded and started to walk past her. He wasn't very good at joking or playing around, but he attempted to cheer her up by gently tapping her on the nose with his tail. "Cheer up. I'll let you take credit for the vole." He said, gesturing to the prey on the ground.

Snowpaw flinched slightly, but didn't stop as she padded by his side. "No thanks." She mewed.

(Sorry, I had dinner and chores and stuff.)
Cloudedpaw guided her towards camp. He was quiet for the most part, but there was a question that burned in the back of his mind. "Can you at least tell me why you ran off? The second time, not the first." He asked quietly, "I promise I won't gossip. I find it rather pointless."

"What do you mean first time?" Snowpaw's mew came out in a slight growl. "Anyway, it's because you kept asking me what happened, ever thought I didn't want to tell you?" Her mew came out more harsh than intended and she silently scolded herself for being so rude to him.

Duskfire bowed his head. Littlecloud had been his mentor. "The Starfalls would be a great farewell for a cat as noble and kind as he was," he choked out, emotion swelling in his throat. "Shall I carry his body back to camp for the vigil?"

"I wanted to make sure you were okay!" Cloudedpaw's voice matched her tone and he narrowed his eyes a little, his patience wearing thin at the other's sheer lack of common sense, "We just had a bunch of cats get hurt, myself included, because of an eagle attack. You run off and come back reeking of it. I don't care what happened, so long as you're not hurt and the clan's not in danger. When it comes to something like that, you make sure that you let your clanmates know that you and them are safe."

Shadow would pad out of behind the waterfall and sit down looking at the rest of the mountain 'beneath' her. { I wonder when I'm going to join that 'Iceclan' that lives near by. } ( Shadow had known about Iceclan but she just hadn't joined , yet ) Shadow would look up as she heard a bear roar in the distance.Shadow would shiver at the thought of a bear attacking her. Shadow would stand up and run torward the pine forest.

Once she got there she would scent the air for any prey , but also garter snakes. Shadow would soon scent something. She would look around. Then she would see something , it was shaking a tree. Shadow's eyes would widen. It , was a bear! Shadow would gulp and slowly start backing away. When Shadow was about to make a run for it , after getting out of the forest , the bear stopped shaking the tree and looked in Shadow's direction. Shadow was as clear as day in the snow with her black fur. The bear would get back on four legs and start walking torward Shadow , but the bear would soon relise what I was and start 'running torwards Shadow. Shadow's back would rise up , and she stood there frozen for a moment. Shadow then shook her head and spun around , running away from the bear.
