Okay, i have to admit i like leafpool better than squilf because i think shes too liked, everyone likes squilf and i dont really get it. i liked squilf as an apprentice but not as a warrior, mostly because of the ash/bramble situation i found it uncomfortable because ash and bramble WERE LITERALLY ADULTS (as far as i can remember) plus i ship shrew/squirrel too hard also whitewing/squilf I actually agree somewhat, and you're not wrong, she is too liked, which is why the Erins tend to overuse her quite a bit, even in stories where she's not even the protagonist anymore. On anywhere else but the forums she's overly loved, and her action as a character is drastically excused. I actually used to like Squirrelflight as well, as an apprentice, and I didn't care to much for Leafpool back then because she didn't have much going on for her. So I suppose we're opposites on that, however, now that they're older I think my opinions on them has switched. I like Leafpool now, as of AVoS at least, and I'm not the biggest fan of Squirrelflight because her character is terribly stagnant, and the story suffers from it. I also agree with the whole Ash/Bramble thing in general, I'm not to fond of it, looking back at it now. I reminds me too much of the DustFern situation, or even the TigerDove one, which is a bit uncomfortable and understandably so. I think the Erins as writers are more to blame for stuff like that. I've never heard of Squirrel/White being a ship before? Where exactly does that come from? /gen first, THANK YOU SM for quoting my post second, in my friend group we have this au where whitewing and a trans boi squilf get together and adopt kits (dovekit and ivykit) and it carries on as normal

Yes, they have threatened to quit reading a series they "love" if she lives. People like Berrynose, Molewhisker, and so many other characters are "snooty" and "arrogant" but apparently, Squirrelflight can't be that way in their minds. When she was born before them and had that personality beforehand and it was done well. I think your argument about her being "too liked" is flawed. Sorry about my arguement being flawed, but I am in a friend group where they all love squilf and the community are obsessed (pretty much) with her. i cant relate to her like the whole ash/bramble thing was uncomfortable and i didnt like that she was so impulsive. overall, shes a fun, bubbly character but i think there were other characters that pull off her personality better.

I already posted here listing Stick (the cat from SkyClan's Destiny) but I have some more
1. Sandynose 2. Shrewclaw 3. Hawkheart 4. Cedarstar 5. Foxheart, I don't particularly like her, but I didn't hate her either, I thought Yellowfang was kind of worse than her while reading Yellowfang's Secret, when Foxheart was a kit she may have been a bit bratty but all she wanted to do was hang out with Yellowfang and Yellowfang kept blowing her off, I might be misremembering some aspects, but I do remember how I felt reading it 6. Sandgorse, he annoyed me a bit, but I find him to be a bit complex and the complexness of his character is overlooked which I find interesting

For me it is Lionblaze and Tigerheartstar.
The simple reason I like the Warriors beat each other up and Lionblaze delivers very well in that case. Same with Tigertwo in AVOS. I like aggressive and arrogant warriors more because usually they are more entertaining for me.
Usually I'm tired if all that drama and "forbidden" relationships but even when there is drama with Lionblaze it ends with Lionblaze going to ShadowClan to let himself beat up which was just hillarious.

Hmm, I have to disagree with that last part, especially. I agree seeing the overexposure of a certain point may push you off a character, hence why I dislike many "background" characters. Might I assume those characters that you claim to pull off her personality better are along the likes of Berrynose, Molewhisker, and Lionblaze? Those characters closely resemble the traits we see used to describe Squirrelfight. (Cocky, arrogant, impulsive...) In all honesty, I think those three characters are detailed to be more obnoxious.
Berrynose is purely liked for his arrogant character, as many thought at the time that he was unique in ThunderClan's cookie-cutter Clan. Squirrelflight is shown to have similar arrogance, but she is expected to be "better" than that. I understand development, but Berrynose did not gain any and remained the same.
Molewhisker was shown as such in earlier days at least, and while he came off as a jerk to Alderheart, he escaped judgment. Meanwhile, Squirrelflight is judged for her "harsh" treatment of Nightheart during his training days. (Vague intentionally to avoid spoilers.) Even Jayfeather is harsh on Alderheart when the tom begins his medicine cat training.
Lionblaze is extremely hot-headed, and I have seen him be the least liked of the three characters I'm comparing to Squirrelflight. Still, he gets off scot-free in most scenarios due to his emotional state but Squirrelflight is called irresponsible for this, and some have accused her of being poor in leadership.
It seems in any scenario Squirrelflight is put in, no matter how she acts, she is criticized and demonized. We want characters like Squirrelflight, but only a "little" bit. I don't get it.

Lionblaze Finleap Foxheart Jayfeather since I didn’t seem him as acting more harsh with Alderheart. Sharpclaw Palebird Sandgorse, I probably like him a bit more than most people.
(There is likely more but I am currently blanking.)

I don't know why but I always have a feeling that Brokenstar and Tigerstar are good and do not deserve what they endured

nightcloud and breezepelt - their characters are fine on their own but like. as an abuse survivor the takes i have seen on them make me want to smash my walls with a rock. hawkheart - interesting and multi-faceted character again plagued by bad fandom takes spottedleaf - extremely interesting implications and concepts. then people worry more about thistleclaw, the guy who encouraged his apprentice to kill a kit, more than her dovewing - deserved a better arc
