Afternoon everyone!
I was wondering something. Do the fandom MAPS videos help you visualize the Clan’s territories better? I’ve had trouble for years trying to picture the warrior cat’s world. Or is googling real life landscapes help better? Or alongside the MAPS?
Should this be something I should watch? If so, does anyone have recommendations?

100%! MAPs give me a good idea of what the characters look like as well since I'm terrible at visualizing characters and events on my first read.

MAPs are the reason why I got into Warriors in the first place because gawd dam so many of them are so good, not to mention give me a nice visualization of characters since everyone has their own interpretation

Yes, but only somewhat. It really only pertains to characters introduced in TPB. I visualize Longtail and Ravenpaw with the designs that I do because of SSS Warrior cats.
Not exactly a map though, just Warriors animation.

I've never watched any MAPs.
Although I will always imagine Longtail as a creamy-yellow tabby with jet black stripes thanks to SSS Warrior cats.

They're good for visualizing characters, but I think they're actually a negative when it comes to visualizing the environment. Why is that? Because most MAPs forget the time of year that an event is taking place in, and so events that take place in the dead of winter and should be covered with snow are drawn as generic forest setting very often.

No, because I've never watched any MAPS--at least until I finished the series and by then the characters and settings had already been properly visualized in my head.

Always. Rory and Poor George are my favourite animations the community has made and are super memorable. It helps that the aesthetics and designs are consistent. MAP animators & hosts deserve awards for the stuff they can do.

I dont think the animated scenes stick with me when reading but the designs sure do. Some of the iconic designs have been cemented in my brain too much for me to imagine characters any other way (Nifty's Jayfeather, SSS Longtail, etc)

Sometimes in terms of character designs. But I prefer to look at "regular" (fan)art or actual landscape pics more when it comes to the territories or the general enviroment (such as the camps and dens as well).
Concept art specifically for territory designs from MAPs can also be useful in helping to visualize it. Those are usually linked in the video descriptions under scripts and such or on other social media platforms by the creators.
