Pearl: Leaving Twolegplace

Pearl hums softly as she gets farther away from her home. When she reaches the border, she pauses for a moment scenting a unfamiliar scent nearby. She looks around confused for a minute before deciding to keep walking forward.

Queen Ebonycloud: 49 Moons. A fluffy black molly with a white underbelly and blue eyes. She has a rather long tail. She is a rather stern cat, trying to keep others out of trouble. Despite how she acts, she only wants the best for her clanmates. Her mate is Beestone, kit is Newtkit. Open to other kits and family. Moonclaw400


Kit Newtkit (heart): 2 Moons. Newtkit is a fluffy cream tabby tom with black stripes on his tail and white front paws. He's a rather quiet kit, looking up to his father. He always tries his best, wanting to be just like him. Parents are Beestone and Ebonycloud. Open to other siblings. Moonclaw400

Blossomsong and Kits with Yarrowwhisper 

"Okay I will." Blossomsong chirped. She nodded at Yarrowwhisper's reply to her question. "I hope this Leaf-fall is mild. I'm worried about the kits surviving the winter." She whispered the last part not wanting to wake or scare the kits. Not to mention she worried about speaking it into existence. She knew though that the medicine cats and all the clan would help her in keeping them alive.

Quailthroat with Dashingpaw

Quailthroat padded along behind Dashingpaw but not exactly keeping his pace. She wondered if his trampling through the forest was scaring prey for anyone. She shook her head when he turned to look forward. But she was pleased that he seemed to remember the way. When they arrived she said "Good. Now let's see if you can properly catch a mouse."

Beestone and Snailpaw with Nightfeather

Beestone purposely ignored his brother and pounced on the rabbit. He had moved close enough to reach it. He struggled for a second to wrangle the prey to get at its throat but he managed before it made a sound. He then turned and nodded to Nightfeather. "Yes we are. It looks like you have had good luck yourself." He bumped his head gently against his brother's in affection. 

Snailpaw smiled and dipped her head to Nightfeather as ever the friendly one. She didn't care much for his attitude at times but she would never cause drama. Especially when she admired his brother, Beestone, so adamantly. She stood and slipped off to leave the two to talk as she tracked a vole.

Silverrose with Frostedleaf

Silverrose looked up as Frostedleaf approached. She respected the warrior despite his deaf ear. She never really noticed it anymore. "Hello, Frostedleaf" she said in an even tone. "I was thinking that we could send a patrol out to check the borders this morning. Over on this side of the lake specifically." She knew he would likely take Pumpkinpaw with him. "I think unless you think there will be trouble that you and Pumpkinpaw can go on your own."

Frostfeather with Pearl

Frostfeather tilted her head as she heard humming from somewhere behind her. She wasn't sure if she recognized the voice or not. She walked back the way she came. "Hello?" She called out to the cat head of her. They had crossed the border but she didn't want a confrontation she didn't need.

(Wasn't sure if you wanted Pearl to be new to the forest or someone recognized by the clan. So I left it open to either.)

Plumberry with Honeypatch

Plumberry had finished her mouse with Lightningsong and Astersong and decided to go socialize with someone else in the clan. She got up her joints creaking a little and padded over to where Honeypatch was relaxing. She laid down next to her and looked over. "Hello. Would you care to talk?" 

Firkit and Sapkit with Newtkit

Firkit trotted over to where Newtkit was. She flopped over and flicked her black tail. "I'm bored" she complained to her brother. They were a bit away from the Nursery so they weren't going to wake the two younger kits. She blinked her blue eyes and crinkled her pink nose. 


Sapkit trotted after Firkit and sat nearby. She bumped her small body into her brother's gentle enough that she wouldn't tip him over. She knew he was quieter than his two sisters but wondered about them playing a game. "What if we played Mossball?" She offered a game that could be calm and quiet if they tried. Unlike Badger rides which were loud and rambunctious.


(I'm gonna add Firkit and Sapkit. I just need to think up names for them. They are Newtkit's siblings if thats okay.)

Pearl sees the other cat and uses her tail in greeting. "Hello there!" She called out to her.

Plumberry with Honeypatch

"I'm sorry for startling you." The elder said. She wriggled around to look toward Honeypatch. "I am well. My joints are getting achy but otherwise I cannot complain." She smiled and looked at the other she-cat. "How are you doing?" She asked.

Firkit and Sapkit with Newtkit

Firkit smiled when Sapkit suggested mossball and Newtkit agreed. "I'll grab some extra moss from the nursery!" She clamored over to the far side of the nursery quieting down as she neared it to not wake Direkit and Jasminekit as Blossomsong and Ebonycloud would certainly be upset. She grabbed a small wad of moss that could be shaped into a ball.

Sapkit looked around to find an apprentice but could find none that weren't busy. "We could ask a warrior cause I don't see any free apprentices." She looked around to see if anyone was available to play with them.

As Pearl came into sight and greeted her, Frostfeather realized who she was. "Hello Pearl." She greeted the kittypet with friendliness despite her trespass into clan territory. "How are you today?"

Blossomsong and Kits with Yarrowwhisper

With Yarrowwhisper's reassurance Blossomsong felt better. She and the clan would help to protect the kits. "I think we will prosper with two full medicine cats and an apprentice one." She said "I think the three of you will take great care of us." She purred gently.

Quailthroat with Dashingpaw

Quailthroat watched Dashingpaw get to work and wanted to compliment him on his technique until he lost the mouse. "You're technique was fairly good but you've got to pounce a little further. The point is to land on top of the prey." She said. She waited to see what he would do with her critique.

Beestone with Nightfeather

"Ah that's a good call. The streams may not freeze over but there aren't as many fish in them as the Lake." Beestone said nodding that the comment made sense. He watched Snailpaw dissappear as she scented the prey. "I think after she catches some prey we will head back to camp." He said.

Silverrose with Frostedleaf

Silverrose nodded. "I will let you get to that then. I think he's over talking to Aspenstream right now." She said pointing out the beefy young tom talking to his grandmother. She dipped her head and walked away to go about her Deputy duties.

Yarrowwhisper’s face shown with pride until she remembered Basilfrost should have been their with her and the two other medicine cats. He did a wonderful job mentoring Npccat before he died, but every time she saw Npccat and Dawnpaw she was reminded of him.
“I need to get over his death,” she thought. She hid her sadness form Blossomsong, not wanting to worry her. “Thank you. Jasminekit looks healthy and I assure you Direkit will soon be the same,” Yarrowwhisper said.

Dashingpaw had to stop himself from shouting “Fox dung!”. He had been sure he’d catch the mouse. After hearing Quailthroat’s advice he went on to find another mouse. Before the scent even filled his nose, he immediately spit another one nearby where the other mice was.
“It must scent its friend,” Dashingpaw thought. Before getting distracted, he crouched and pounced on the mouse, just nearly grabbing it by it’s tail. He quickly clawed it to death, and placed the mouse in front of his mentor proudly.

“Yes, and many of our clanmates have been preferring fish lately,” he said, listening to the rest of Beestone’s response, “Sounds like a good plan. I hope this apprentice is making progress, because one at the lake fishing frightened all the sea creatures with her shadow!”

After returning to camp and placing her squirrel and vole in the fresh-kill pile, Pineconebush approached her mate just to check in on him. She knew he was rather doubtful, and everyday made sure he was doing alright.

Plumberry chuckled. "They haven't been too bad. Newtkit and Sapkit are fairly reasonable to deal with especially Newtkit. Firkit is a bit over the top but it's fun to watch her antics. Direkit and Jasminekit just opened their eyes for the first time today so they just seem to be enjoying the sunshine." She knew it was a joke but she felt the need to explain each kit and their level of being a pawful. She smiled and flicked her ears at where the three older kits were preparing to play mossball.

Sapkit with Newtkit

"Hey wait. I see Dewpaw." She said hopefully as she spotted the older she-cat walking into camp with a mouse. Maybe she'll play with us." She knew the she-cat had been made apprentice when she, Newtkit, and Firkit had been born but she still played with them at times. "Why don't you go ask?" She said.

Firkit with Ebonycloud

Firkit paused with a ball of moss in her mouth. She dropped it and looked at her mother. "Oh I'm just getting us a ball to play mossball with the others across camp." She glanced at where the others were looking at Dewpaw. "We promise to stay away from the nursery since Direkit and Jasminekit are sleeping." She said.

(I think Basilfrost might have been a full med cat for a moon so he wouldn't have been ready to mentor yet. With the age that I set the other med cat I think Yarrowwhisper waited a couple moons then took a new apprentice for the sake of the clan. Against what her grief told her to do.)

Blossomsong and Kits with Yarrowwhisper

Blossomsong missed the sadness in Yarrowwhisper as she thought about Basilfrost. Blossomsong was just thinking about her kits. "Thank you Yarrowwhisper. I appreciate your wisdom." She said this with a purr and a smile.

Quailthroat with Dashingpaw

Quailthroat watched Dashingpaw make the kill and thought about how sloppy it was. "Maybe we need to work on your skills a little more. The pounce should land you on top of the prey and you should be able to quickly end its life with a bite to its neck." She instructed the young tom but realized she should comment on him at least getting the mouse. "But at least it's another peice of prey to feed the clan."

Beestone with Nightfeather

"Snailpaw is a wonderful hunter. Silverdawn has done excellently at training her." He made a face at his brother's comment. "Are you sure? You sometimes seem a little harsh on the younger cats. And depending on who it was you probably sent the fur falling straight off of her shevwas shaking so bad."

Pumpkinpaw with Aspenstream (breifly) then with Frostedleaf.

Pumpkinpaw heard his mentor's call and looked quickly giving him a nod. He let Aspenstream finish talking and nodded. He touched his nose to hers. "It was nice talking to you. Now I've gotta do my duties." With her nod he trotted off to Frostedleaf. "Where are we patrolling?" He asked excited to go out.

"I have no clue. To be totally honest. They still have 4 moons before that time will come. I think Basilwhisker will be a good mentor for Newtkit. And Snailpaw will be a warrior by then so Silverdawn would be available to maybe mentor Sapkit. But I don't know who will have the power to control and shape Firkit without breaking her." Plumberry said to Honeypatch's question.

Dewpaw with Newtkit

Dewpaw looked up as Newtkit approached and smiled. She knew that Newtkit was the quieter of his siblings so she was glad he took the oppurtunity to ask her himself to play mossball. "Yes of course! I love playing with you guys." She waited for him to move back to where Sapkit was and would follow him when he did.

Firkit with Ebonycloud (briefly) then Sapkit, Dewpaw, and Newtkit

Firkit nodded to Ebonycloud. She glanced where the two younger kits lay at their mother's side as she talked to Yarrowwhisper. She waved goodbye with her tail and trotted over to the others with the ball of moss in her jaw.

Blossomsong nodded. "I hope your stock is full and if not maybe you and Dawnpaw could go gather more herbs." She said this and after the medicine cat left she laid her head down. Slowly she dozed off like her kits had at her belly.

Quailthroat with Dashingpaw

Quailthroat nodded at what Dashingpaw had said. "Why don't you practice your pounce over there on that pebble? Try bunching your legs further." She motioned to the pebble and gave him a little advice. She didn't want to break his spirit so she said it as kindly as she could. Though some in the clan might have found him annoying she saw an enthusiasm that was worth alot in her apprentice.

Beestone with Nightfeather

Beestone cringed as Nightfeather named the apprentice he had scolded earlier. The poor young she-cat was covered in scars head to tailtip. She was very frightened by some of the clan's members still. "Nightfeather." He gasped. "That is no way to talk about a fellow clanmate. She is just 7 moons and if you stop to think about how old some of those scars look you can tell she was hurt well before she was an apprentice. I imagine she was attacked consistently when she couldn't even defend herself. And yet you accuse her of having loyalties outside the clan." He scoffed and shook his head. He walked away for a moment to keep himself from boxing Nightfeather in his ears for such a daft remark.

Pumpkinpaw with Frostedleaf

Pumpkinpaw nodded. "I'm ready when you are." He said excitedly. HE enjoyed spending time with his mentor because Frostedleaf made him feel wanted. Sort of the way Basilwhisker made him feel when he adopted him after he was abandoned. He preapared himself to go out and look for danger around the lake ready to protect his clan with his life if necessary.

Frostfeather nodded. "It is good to get fresh air. As part of the clan I get it all the time. But I guess living in a twoleg nest it might be different." She talked to the kittypet as she would any other cat because she didn't feel threatened by Pearl though she thought about asking her to stay off clan territory so others would be less likely to tresspass.

While approaching the medicine den, she saw Dawnpaw scanning the herbs.
“Hello, Dawnpaw,” she said, “How is the herb supply?” She asked. Even though she wasn’t the tom’s mentor, she was still willing to teach him things. However, she remembered Basilfrost every time she did it, and had to live through that guilt while mentoring Npccat. Pushing away her guilt, she tried to remember what she had told herself about moving on.

Nightfeather felt extremely annoyed at his brother’s response, but wasn’t feeling like starting an argument. He caught up with Beestone quickly.
“You know what, maybe you’re right,” Nightfeather lied, “Maybe I was a bit to harsh on her. Thanks for the advice, sometimes I don’t think straight.” Nightfeather thought he sounded convincing enough, but it was his brother. Hopefully he wouldn’t catch on.

“Follow me,” he said, leading the way outside camp. He always had his good ear pinned when leaving camp, not wanting to be unprepared for any dangers.
Once they were almost at the lake, Frostedleaf decided to ask his apprentice a question. “What can you smell?” He asked.

“Yes, it wasn’t a very good one though,” she admitted, “I got a bit distracted.” Pineconebush hoped Ashstar wouldn’t mind that she didn’t bring back much fresh-kill for the clan, but it was getting close to leaf-fall. For the cats of SpringClan, leaf-fall can be just as bad as leaf-bare when the temperature drops so quickly.
