Territory
Set in a low section of the Appalachian Mountains, the deciduous forest that BrambleClan uses as it's home is lush and abundant with resources. The elevation level may not be high, but the ground is uneven and there are multiple ravines and ridges throughout the territory. Oaks, maples, walnut and beech trees are the most abundant here, but to the far east, towards the Twoleg Place, is an abandoned orchard, with fruit trees that have germinated a bit father than the old farm's borders. A series of creeks and streams flow south through the forest, towards a wide, slow moving river that makes up the southern border. The short cliffs they slide over create small waterfalls that are quite pretty to the eye and a place that often attracts young lovers and mates. The deepest part of the territory is a wide gorge with walls that are only a few fox-lengths high. The bottom is covered in thick moss, used for training mostly but apprentices also enjoy hanging out here, racing each other up the precariously placed trees that stand along the edges of the gorge. Camp is settled in the northern part of the territory, a thicket of brambles and thorns, surrounded by fallen logs.
Camp
BrambleClan camp is in the northern quadrant of the clan territory, far from any other clan borders. It's settled on the ridge of a shallow ravine, a heavily forested area. The undergrowth has been cleared away by their ancestors, leaving a relatively open space, roofed by interlocking branches and leaves. Sunlight isn't too abundant in the central clearing but they also get more cover from rain, snow, and wind to a certain extent. The border of the camp is built up of brambles and briar thickets, reinforced every season by BrambleClan warriors. Most of the dens are also woven from the bramble thickets of their namesake, especially the nursery and warrior's dens. That does leave for many picked up thorns in paws, which the Clan is all adept at dealing with themselves. The queens discourage it, but many of the kits are told by apprentices that they're not ready to be an apprentice if they can't deal with thorns themselves.

BrambleClan
(for personal use)
- To the east, they share a border with AppleClan. Despite living in an old orchard and being the closest to the town, they ironically have the least contact with humans since no one bothers to go into the fields (though they have the most with kittypets and loners, of which the orchard is an easy getaway from the streets). They tend to be fairly pacifist, though BrambleClan historically looks down on them for being so easy with outsiders and taking in many strays (kinda like ThunderClan's reputation in the Original arcs). Their cats are known for wanting more than mere survival, and preach the moral high ground.
- A river separates BrambleClan from their southwest neighbors, BrookClan. They have a wetter, boggy territory covered in connected creeks and ponds. They also have a recreation area/park/campground to their far southwestern border, so when it's summer and there's lots of people, they end up skirmishing the most with BrambleClan, as they're pushed out of their hunting grounds and steal prey from across the river where it's safer to hunt (and maybe less polluted). They tend to terrorize BrambleClan more than their other neighbors because they are (obviously) the best swimmers, and so falling back over the river means their trespassing is (relatively) safer as they can't be chased if they need to flee (which they do often, giving them a reputation of cowards, especially by BrambleClan).
- To the southeast, the clan shares a border with DarkClan. The forest grows sparse and the ground more even and flat. Undergrowth thins and there are many more open spaces. This leaves little shelter from the elements or predators, which forces DarkClan to live mainly underground through an interconnecting network of caverns and tunnels. These cats are accustomed to darkness and rely heavily on both their hearing and sense of smell. They're a neutral clan, preferring not to stick their noses into any other clan's business. They're secretive and their odd habits make BrambleClan weary of them. Some clan cats whisper that DarkClan isn't favored by StarClan because they remain the farthest from Silverpelt while underground, they're also the lowest on the mountain. They have tunnels beneath AppleClan's territory too, which is a very closely guarded secret. BrambleClan might have some, but is protected by the river, and BrookClan is safe because their territory is too wet to dig into. They may be the most mysterious, but they are apt at collecting data and information. DarkClan values knowledge above all else, which is why so little is known about them. They want to horde all the knowledge and won't give any away without some sort of trade.
- A tree has fallen at the edge of camp, the trunk propped up by two nearby trees. It grows unstable the further you climb but the lower half can be used as a look-out point. The roots are inside the perimeter of camp and used as the medicine den, with certain sections carved out for herb storage and another for patients. It's a comfortable den, always stocked with plenty of moss. The medicine cats sleep between the two sections of their dens, in a little hidden alcove.
- The warrior's den is by far the biggest den of them all, formed by two long-dead witchhazel bushes that had first been colonized by ivy, then further reinforced by the Clan with dense blackberry fronds --both living and dead, a patchwork of brown and green and blossoms in the spring. If the warriors are careful and quiet, birds are drawn to the fully grown blackberries, and can be hunted for an easy meal for enterprising warriors that are willing to wake before the camp is noisy enough to scare them off; these gifts are nearly always given to the elders, in thanks for cultivating the vines that made the tradition possible. A few warriors are always tasked with keeping the living vines healthy, on a rotation every year.
- The apprentice's den is by far the most open. Situated within a draughty deadfall, ferns and ivy keep it somewhat warm in the summer months, but once the leaves are gone, there is nothing but the lattice of branches to keep the elements out. Apprentices often try to weave brambles in the densest side, to create a pocket of warmth, and huddle together. They also beg StarClan for an early snow, since the snow can be easily packed into the framework and makes the den into a warm fort. The time in between leaf-fall and the snows are the most challenging time for the apprentices, and many form close bonds from struggling through the cold together and working to find solutions.
- The nursery is settled into a low dip in the camp, sheltered by two large rose bushes and enforced with brambles. Thorns are abundant around the nursery for protection. There are two entrances, one that gives the queens access to the dirt-place at the back of camp and another that acts as the main entryway. Both are hidden amongst the twisting, sharp vines - making it difficult for outsiders or predators to find their way inside. Kits often brag about making it safely out and in the nursery without collecting any stray thorns, others make a game of it.
- A massive elm tree spreads between the fallen Healer's trunk and the warrior's den. Sometime long ago, it had been struck by lightning, splitting the trunk and creating a burnt hollowed niche at the base of the trunk. Surprisingly, the tree itself is heathy and strong, through a quarter of the branches don't have leaves. This small and private space houses the leader's den. Over the years, the soot has mostly been wiped from the inside, leaving the walls smooth. The lightning injury left a stub of a branch overhead, and is a good place for the leader to make announcements or simply watch over the Clan.
- The elder's den can be made out of a dogwood bush, reinforced with brambles and elderberry twigs. The den is settled in the far right corner of camp and is on a soft incline. Wide enough to fit only a few elders, it's a small cozy den. There's a small opening in the foliage right outside the den, giving the elders a place to sunbathe without leaving camp.
- The fresh-kill pile is kept in the highest corner of camp, near the main entrance. The foliage is the thickest overhead here, providing a large pool of shade that's near permanent. This keeps the prey from heating up too badly and rotting quicker. This shadowy area is also a nice place to relax and play on warmer days. Queens often rest here, though they must keep a sharp eye on mischievous kittens since the entrance to camp is so close.

Bravethistle (#9bc2a9)
A large tom, the oldest of his litter. Heโs got broad shoulders and long legs, that lend themselves to athleticism and agility, but not grace. He has a lumbering sort of gait and hunting has never been his strongest suit, due to the heaviness of his paws. His fur always looks a wild mess, even when itโs been groomed. It has had this odd, almost spiky quality since his kit-hood, and age has only made it worse. Itโs not rare to find forest debris tangled in his coat, Ryechatcher swears he saw a bird nest in there once. As for coloration, the tom is mainly black with a few scattered white patches, particularly on his stomach, legs, and tail. A blaze of white begins on his forehead and trails down to cover his whole muzzle, tapering off at his throat. His eyes are the same vivid amber eyes of his litter-mates, a feature passed down from their mother. Bravethistleโs left eye is scarred over and cataracts have formed, rendering him completely blind on that side.
Gruff, no-nonsense, and strict Bravethistle. That's how he's always been and that is likely how he will always be. He was forced to grow up too fast but he never complained. He always got a certain enjoyment out of caring for and protecting his brothers. He's a tom who needs to feel wanted and useful. He grows easily frustrated when faced with a problem he doesn't know how to solve. When he feels helpless and vulnerable, he tends to shut down, mentally and emotionally closing himself off. It's rare to see Bravethistle lose his temper or show any emotion at all. A stoic warrior with a chilling gaze of disinterest. He can be sharp and dry in his wit, which doesn't garner him many friends. As a senior warrior, he does hold a great deal of respect. Bravethistle has dedicated his life to serving the clan, setting aside his personal desires to find love and start a family. Instead, he poured himself into his duties while nurturing his bonds with his brothers to fill the lonely void. The old warrior is extremely protective of his loved ones and secretly fears he'd forsake the clan for them. Luckily for him, that's never been put to the test.

Rookpaw - small black and white patched tom with vivid amber eyes. His eyes are larger than life, even with his large, floppy ears to distract. He's fairly evenly black and white, though it is the black that creates the spotted markings over his white base coat. A black dapple covers the right side of his face, and a large black splotch covers the back of his neck and drapes over his shoulders. Smaller black speckles run down his front legs, more on the right than left side, as that side ends in a black paw. Large dapples cover his back haunches. His tail-tip is black, and there is a black splotch at the basal half of his tail as well. Rookpaw is small, but a little overweight, carrying some chub on his stomach and face.
Rookpaw is a ball of sunshine. A cat that can see no wrong, he's always there to look on the bright side of all situations. He finds it easy to apologize, to trust, to fall in love. He's not afraid to feel. Rookpaw is the type to forgive and forget --with emphasis on the forgetting-- often blocking out anything that doesn't fit his sunny outlook on the world. While it's nice for others to have an honest second chance, it also means he's likely to keep falling into the same manipulations and cycles. His methods of deflecting and dissociating from emotional pain are not very healthy. He leans on his brother, Frecklepaw, often, and though he thinks his brother too uptight and stuffy, trusts his brother's opinions. Frecklepaw is the only one that can show Rookpaw the true nature through his rose-tinted lenses, and while he knows his brother only does so because he cares and wants to protect him, he can't help but hold a grudge against him for showing Rookpaw the darkness.

Windblaze - sandy blonde tom with white toes and amber eyes. He's the same color as Longtail SSS design and is also a long-legged, gangly thing with more speed than strength. His fur is solid, with only the white toes and white behind his ears. He has a jagged scar across his front left paw and his right ear is notched. His points are slightly darker than the rest of him.
Windblaze is a cat fighting against his nature. Inside, he's a bit of a scardy cat and easy to startle, and is often confused-- he struggles to identify his own feelings, and doubts paralyze his decision making process. Until a late growth spurt gave him some height, he used to be the runt of the older apprentices, smaller and weaker than his peers. To make up for his lack of strength, Windblaze cultured a fiery personality and focused on honing his skills. His extra hard work studying as an apprentice paid off, and even though he's only a new warrior, he's found himself a comfortable spot in the Clan's heiarchy. All the change is getting to his ego, and his carefully cultured confidence is starting to edge on recklessness. He's terrified of going back to the scared thing he was as an apprentice, and is desperate to keep the name he's made for himself, but he's also exhausted from pushing against his nature-- the push and pull is fairly stressful and he often finds it hard to sleep. This is the Windblaze that makes it his goal to help Riverpaw become a warrior.

Small and lean, Riverpaw doesn't look like much at first glance. His short stature can cause cats to underestimate him, only to find out that the tom is made up of finely sculpted muscle. The tom trained very hard in his youth, pushing his limits and forcing himself to do better. He's more attuned to flexibility and endurance rather than brute strength. Dark reddish brown fur makes up the base of his coat, speared through with even darker mackerel tabby stripes. White starts at his muzzle, carries on past his throat and chest, ending on his stomach. All four paws are white as well, but his hind paws have full "socks". The only other drop of white rests on the tip of his tail. Riverpaw has the most absurdly blue eyes, thanks to the ruddy fur that surrounds them. His hind right leg is covered in scars and is slightly off-center, twisting faintly outwards. This causes him to walk with a small limp that is better on some days and worse on others.
