ok fr though i decided to do it because i didn't think it would change the UI so much.. has anyone else done the update??? i feel like i made a mistake lol
edit: i found taskbar settings and it makes it feel more.......................................................normal.................................................... so at least there's that. :')

I did the update and the only thing that feels weird for me is to have the windows tab thing pop up in the middle of my screen rather than on the left side.

I'm still just rejecting the update everytime it gets recommended to me. Won't probably be long until they get me as well though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Windows 10 will be supported until sometime in 2025. It's plain old Microsoft. Extend, embrace, and extinguish. Remove user choice; you can only delay the inevitable. Forcing you to use their services is another key trademarks of theirs. Take OneDrive for example. They're not legally allowed to make it the default cloud service and offlist every other option - they just make it such a hassle to deal with it's not even worth fighting. |

update: i'm starting to get used to it but man it feels more "simpler" somehow but like the simpler that you see with so many popular logos throughout the years????????????? does that even make sense????????????

I did the update and the only thing that feels weird for me is to have the windows tab thing pop up in the middle of my screen rather than on the left side. if you change your taskbar settings to align it to the left, the windows tab also pops up on the left! that was my biggest gripe with it as well (it is so in the way in the middle) and i was pleasantly surprised when i found out i could change it.
i updated by accidentally clicking the wrong "turn off" option and i'm neutral about it. i'm not invested enough to have any major complaints now that i don't have that ginormous windows tab smack dab in the middle of my screen every time i want to search for a file, but there's nothing that feels like a major upgrade either

I keep refusing the update each time Windows asks me if I want it. I like the look and feel of Windows 10 because it’s what I’m comfortable with.

My new work laptop has Windows 11, which given I don't use Windows has been not that fun. Although not due to the task bar, I've always just hit the Windows key / whatever else it's called and type for what I want. Just the amount of updating it needed before it wasn't a broken mess was mad. Multiple reboots over multiple days before the laptop could function correctly.

So guess what, the sneaky fox got to me as well today and installed Windows 11 on my computer after all, without my permission. I noticed the change just now while frantically looking around for the tab where my favorites are located. Yesterday, Windows 10 my beloved was still there but now it's just gone. |
