Salt"There is no such thing as pushing yourself too hard," the tom hissed. "Now catch your breath, get up, and no more of this ridiculousness. Everyone is tired, but nobody but you is making a big dramatic deal about it."
The she-cat rolled her eyes. "Quit talking to me like I'm your superior. We're equal ranks." Having said that, she turned and began padding toward the area where she and he were to guard. As they walked, she looked over her shoulder and asked, "So have you ever been in a battle before?"

(Oh, and I finally got around to editing the character bios (Stonepaw is 8 moons after the timeskip). I didn't want to yesterday as some of my other posts weren't showing up, and I didn't have a place to copy them to.) 1. Cadet Stonepaw - Large, grey tabby tom with sharp green eyes and thick, shorthair fur. He has a below-average length tail and short whiskers, which 'bristle' on his face. His claws are strong, but white like a kitten's (much to his chagrin). It is to be noted that he very rarely moves- he doesn't ever flick his tail or ears, and it's unusual to see him wearing a particular facial expression. Personality-wise, he's the type of cat to soon become the favourite of a drill sergeant- which is exactly what he wants. He's somewhat addicted to winning, even in the most trivial of things, and whilst it gives him the incentive to work harder, it also forms the base of his greatest weakness... his penchat for picking enemies. This means that, in the heat of battle, he might leave another soldier to die instead of helping because of his own petty qualms with them. Despite this jealousy, he wouldn't be likely to take a private bet- he wants everyone to know he's the best, and taking a big risk to convince one 'enemy' would be harebrained anyway. If he doesn't let his jealousies consume him, however, he's a logical, practical powerhouse- one who can make up for his slow reaction time easily with his powerful blows. He's straight but usually uninterested, though he might date a she-cat just to make another of their suitors jealous. (8 moons, Smileyme2)
2. Private Newtspring - Newtspring is a black-and-orange she-cat with round, amber eyes. She's got a stocky build, compact but muscular, and a flat muzzle (which does little to help her looks). She's got unruly, thick fur with an almost wiry texture, which makes it harder for her to sneak through undergrowth but makes her almost invulnerable to infection, since grime cannot penetrate her harsh coat to seep into wounds. Her tail is the same as her main coat, but bushier, like a bottlebrush. She's mostly black except for dashes of orange streaked across her body. Her eyes are unusual, with her iris seemingly fading from orange to black, as well as being quite large. They are very expressive, too- the slightest twitch can change her from looking thrilled to furious. All of these parts together make her, to put it kindly, an 'unconventional beauty', though she doesn't seem to mind. She's got outstanding balance, being able to traverse the thinnest tree branches, but she's a poor jumper. In battle, she prefers offense to defense, as her shorter stature and thick pelt make her harder to defend against- which is a surprise, as out of battle she prefers to follow rather than make the first move. She's always nervous about something, and stresses out a lot, but always makes sure to follow her orders properly. She doesn't push away other cats but has few friends due to her unwillingness to introduce herself to others. She wonders often why she was put in Thunder Company, as she has a jittery personality and works better with a close partner than alone. However, she is too obedient to doubt the choices of her superiors and merely wills herself to be more of a model Thunder personality.(18 moons, Smileyme2)

Salt Will do in a second) At Stormpaw's reaction of ignoring his orders, Flamepelt shoved his way in between the two cadets. His voice rose to a bloodcurdling screech. "When I tell you to do something, you little piece of crap, you do it! You don't just ignore me; you do what I say, and you give me a 'yes, sir' for it! Now, go over there and do eighty burpees, now!" Turning toward Otterpaw, he asked sharply, "And what the hell is the matter with you? Can't handle a little exercise?" lozi Little did Stormpaw acknowledge the commander, he didn't even hear Flamepelt command him to attention. He had been so focused on trying to empathize in the tricky situation he had found himself in, he had become oblivious to the outside world. Stormpaw fought to contain his initial shock. He hadn't realized that Flamepelt had ordered him to... What had he ordered him to do? The screech was even more so shocking than the shoving. "Yes sir! My utmost apologies sir! Consider the 80 burpees done, sir!" He shouted back, snapping to attention, clicking his paws together sharply, and raising a stiff paw to salute. That was what he was good at. Being commanded, and following out the orders, at least, when he heard them. He cast a woeful look over his shoulder at Otterpaw, the look almost, melancholy? Remorseful? Betrayed? Whatever it was, it was only a flash of emotion, before he returned to the group of Cadets, and began quickly carrying out the burpees, emphasizing the strength and speed in them. When he straightened again, his face was a scowl again, masked of all real emotions.

smilii We only did a half moon skip, so Stone's still six moons, but I'll put them up) Salt"It better not," Flamepelt hissed. "A soldier cannot afford weakness on the battlefield. If you let your exhaustion get the better of you, then it will kill you. Never show your weakness so strongly. Understand?"
Lilydance shrugged. "True, but the whole reason we joined the military was to fight. I want to be able to defend my Clan, and I can't really do that here." Her claws slid out. "However, I've heard that if the two posts fail at their mission in a day or so, our post will be sent in to support them in a re-try in a week's time. Isn't that exciting?"

A cat from beyond the two front posts, Colonel Redhawk, had been brought in the direct the operation. He stood atop a pile of rocks at Military Post #1, all of the cats of #1 and #2 gathered below him, waiting for him to speak. The air was still cold, as the sun would not be coming up for some time.
(Interesting how Moon and Red are going to be in the same battle together)

( Hm, that is interesting! :0 )
Redstorm & Moonleaf | Stronghold / FRC Breathing chilly morning air into her lungs, Moonleaf felt a surge in her chest. It wasn't of fear or nervousness, more so excitement. This was her first battle, and, oh, was she ready! Ready to defend her country, ready to take out those Leaguers, ready to make her parents proud. She was assured that it would go well; the combined forces of both posts made for an near unstoppable enemy.
Just for a minute -a good, short minute - the silver-blue tabby let her shrewd blue eyes trail over the giant congregation. Although she had to squint to examine the darkened pelts of the felines around her, there was one that stuck out to her. Standing only a few feet away was a red tabby tom with teal-green eyes.
The feeling her chest flared into overjoyed happiness as a wide smile graced her face. It was Redstorm.
Almost instantly, as if he could feel her ecstatic stare upon him, the red tabby slowly turned his head over to look directly at her. But Moonleaf's smile immediately faded into a frown as she took in a quick study of his features. He didn't smile back at her, and he was very serious over all, almost looking...angry. Well, she guessed that was to be expected; the soldiers were facing a grim future just mere minutes ahead. But his eyes were what shocked her the most. They were no longer wide, nor child-like. They didn't glimmer or sparkle with that charismatic, sheepish charm.
They were cold, dark, and dull, glaring daggers into her skull.
It was almost as if they were harshly telling her: "Leave me alone. I can't have your love distracting me from what I need to do." The sight made her almost stumble on her paws. But still, she saw something else in those eyes...was it sadness? Regret? Hope? Well, she had no time to think about it; she could very well get called out for not paying attention to her commander's upcoming speech.
Subconsciously, she turned her attention back to Redhawk, her fur rising along her spinal cord as Redstorm's harsh glare glued itself into her mind. What happened to him...? Where are those loving, sweet, green eyes that I knew? She shook her head. Well...let's hear what the Colonel has to say. I can't worry about him now. I need to prepare myself to fight!

(All training camp posts are now on hold for the duration of the battle; if you are not involved in the battle, please do not post.. You may watch, but I want the battle posts to flow smoothly, not be interrupted by outside roleplaying and OOC chat Salt smilii lozi Wolfdusk Mᴏᴏɴ - - @winterlynx) Upon seeing that he had everyone's attention, Colonel Redhawk began to speak. "Today, with assistance from Military Post Number Two, we will attempt to reclaim a supply post that was captured by the enemy approximately two months ago. The supply post is a strategic location for us, as it allowed both front line posts to keep themselves adequately stocked. Since our loss of it, we have been forced to accept supplies from a post twice as far from here. Thus, the higher-ups agreed that we must reclaim it. "Therefore, under the cover of darkness we will be taking action. Military Post Number One, under my leadership, will make the first charge. We will approach the post in two flanks; the left will be lead by myself while the right will be lead by my colleague, Colonel Badgerstrike of Stronghold. This will allow us to strike at many different points instead of one concentrated one. Post Number Two will be lead by my other colleague, Colonel Icefrost of Leopard. Colonel Icefrost will lead Post Number Two into the enemy's territory behind us. They will pause at a point predetermined by us three colonels and begin leafing to stay hidden. At some point, a messenger from Post Number One will be sent to alert Number Two that it is time to join us in battle, at which point Colonel Icefrost will lead the entire post on a head-on offensive directly on the post in support of Number One. The delay in their joining the battle will help to ensure that our resources will not be exhausted before we can complete the capture. If the mission is successful, a number of soldiers from One and Two will remain at the supply post for security purposes until further notice, while the rest will return to their original posts. Does every cat understand?"

Redstorm & Moonleaf | Stronghold / FRC "Sir, yes, sir." "Sir, yes, sir!"
The two tabbies responded in unison, both having different thoughts racing through their heads. Redstorm was taking in all of the information within his shrewd mind with precise accuracy; exactly where he was to go, and what he was to do. Moonleaf however, had too many excited thoughts on her mind that she couldn't concentrate as well as she wanted to - however, she had an overall...good understanding of what she was supposed to be doing once the mission started. She only hoped that she'd be able to do it.

Redhawk nodded. "Alright. Everyone assemble behind the cat they are supposed to follow! From this moment on there should be no talking unless absolutely necessary. Get going!" He jumped off of his perch and waited for his cats.

Dᴀɴɴʏ Pʜᴀɴᴛᴏᴍ ;; ( Urgh, it is pretty sad... But I'll try to give them the most interaction with each other as I can, since I have no clue as to who's going to end up dying first. ;u; )Redstorm & Moonleaf | Stronghold / FRC Immediately, both felines separated from the gigantic crowd to meet up with Colonel Redhawk and his soldiers. Moonleaf, having pulled herself away from her thoughts long enough to keep her eyes on Redstorm, she trotted up to the red tom. Her excitement was quickly overwhelmed by worry and sadness that nearly made her choke. He looked terrible; what happened? Wasn't he supposed to be a bit more optimistic than this? What do I do? I can't talk to him, or else I'll get in big trouble. Still, maybe we could keep our voices down in whispers...
She caught up to him, following the line as her heart thudded in apprehension. As if she didn't know what she was doing, she dragged her plumed tail across his back, a gesture of affection. She wanted to sigh with relief when he didn't even pull away. "R-Red...?" Her voice was lower than a whisper. For a long while, he didn't respond, and Moonleaf had almost considered giving up on talking to him for the rest of the journey. But then, she finally earned her short-and-sweet reply, and she was surprised by the healthy power in Redstorm's tone, even in a hushed breath.
"Moonleaf."
He spoke to her. An actual acknowledgement. Not to mention it sounded like he missed her just as much as Moonleaf did him. She could've cried with joy right on the spot.
Both cats stopped as the group of burly felines stood attentive in front of Colonel Redhawk grew in number, waiting for the signal to move out of base camp. Debating whether or not to whisper again so soon, as Redhawk probably had hearing as remarkable as a rabbit's, she kept her mouth shut and waited eagerly to move along.

Mᴏᴏɴ - -Willowstrike scanned the crowd as he joined the group before Icefrost. He caught sight of Moonleaf, talking quietly to a cat he didn't recognize. He felt a flare of jealousy as he realized the cat was a tom, but pushed it back down. Now was not the time for that. He called out to his comrade. "Moonleaf, over here! You're in the wrong section."

Dᴀɴɴʏ PʜᴀɴᴛᴏᴍRedstorm & Moonleaf | Stronghold / FRC Moonleaf's ear twisted around at the sound of someone calling her name. She recognized it as Willowstrike. She blushed in embarrassment, inwardly slapping herself. How could she screw that up? I'm in the wrong group?! Oh, geez... Perhaps I'm too distracted at the moment.
She looked over to Redstorm, desperation in her gaze. "Um...I'm sorry, Redstorm," she whispered hastily into his ear. "I'll have to talk to you another time. Be safe for me, okay?" Without a gesture of compassion, or even a glance back at her childhood friend, she rushed over to the other side of the clearing, tail streaming out behind her. Redstorm said nothing in response to her, but his shoulders slumped in response to her leave. He eyed her as she ran off to another young-looking tomcat, his gaze full of mixed emotions.
Moonleaf's breath puffed out in white clouds as she took her place beside Willowstrike. Her ears immediately flattened; the gesture was of mixed feelings - guilt, worry, sheepishness. "S-Sorry, Willow," she whispered, using the nickname she made for him. "I was daydreaming again; wasn't paying attention." She let out a piqued sigh, shaking her head slowly.
