EXACTLY I just noticed it and I love that it happened organically
for instance. they are both:
- gay
- angry
- want to overthrow dad
- have good ideas but poor execution
- would die for their mom + siblings
- but feel like they’ve been replaced by the new half sibs
- feel their skills are underestimated
- seek approval/validation from the clan
- would probably make good oracles if they could just learn to chill first
except that red wants to kill coconut and though jacaranda also wants coconut to step down she probably doesn’t want to take it that far so they’re on slightly different trajectories

Btw my image of salt has changed sm
I used to imagine a serious, quiet, introverted (tiny) white kitten with specks of gray
Now i imagine a (trying to be) serious, kinda quiet but not really, ambiverted (tall) gray and white dude
Despite being quite tall,,, salt is a BUG next to his brother, jagged. He towers over so many cats.

Isn't it fun when that happens? Like, you think you know everything about this character, with every detail of their arc planned out, and then they up and get a life of their own and end up doing something radically different. xD
I'm actually kinda relying on that for Stormsurf? He's a deliberately blank slate at this point to match his ambiguous loyalties; he'll grow along with the plot. But the rest of my characters haven't strayed too far from my original intentions for them. yet.

Yea its great when that happens!!!! I love it cause it kinda feels like one of those chocolate eggs with toys inside- you never know what it'll be.
And Stormsurf is suuuch a cool name and also has a interesting character! I cant wait to see him develop into a great part of the plot!!!!

I'm glad you think so!! Stormsurf's name reflects the inner turmoil he'll experience as he begins to question his values and mirrors Redwave's name (since both have ocean-themed suffixes) to foreshadow their possible future relationship. He also has cool colors (blue-grey fur, sea-green eyes) to compliment Redwave's warm colors (dark red-brown fur, amber eyes). You didn't ask for Stormsurf lore but by golly you're gettin it anyway lol

Ah lol! Im a SUCKER for opposite palettes in character design when it comes to ships. I <3 it!!!!!!
Jaggedscar actually doesnt really even have a way he got his massive scar but all i know abt it for sure is that Salt tried to comfort him but jag was too furious with his dad pushing him aside. He was rlly insecure but after seeing how cats feared his ominous aura (which exsists partly bc of the scars) he became really proud of them.
