YO!! Prague was one of my favorite cities in all of Europe! How long will you be there?? From June 25th to July 23rd! you will love it! Prague is the Paris of Eastern Europe. I heard from multiple people who went to both cities that St. Vitus' Cathedral is more beautiful than Notre Dame, and it's definitely gorgeous. My favorite building of everything I saw across the pond. Although the city has stunning architecture in general. You must also try Trdelnik, aka "Chimney Cakes". Street vendors wraps strips of yeasty dough around a very hot cylinder to cook in a coil pattern, then roll the outside in cinnamon sugar. It's delicious as-is, but some places will also fill up the hollow center with ice cream or whipped cream. Try it both ways. Everything's cheap there. Prague is also known for its jazz scene, oddly enough, and there's loads of live jazz clubs throughout the city. So I definitely recommended checking that out if you care for the music. I was only there for less than 3 days as part of my spring break, but it was definitely one of my favorite places during my study abroad and wish I had more time to spend there. Enjoy it!! I'm living through you vicariously!

I am here! No pictures yet, but it is roughly 9:15 AM in this new timezone. Well I do have one picture. Never said it was an interesting picture. So anyway, my new residence is right in the city center. Like RIGHT THERE. I can walk to that one famous clock tower in about 15 minutes and pass through all the other neat places on the way. Yesterday was hectic. I am glad my batteries got a chance to recharge. Bought food. Scary how the budget for the month was 300 USD and for about a week worth of food it was under 15 USD. What do they think I'm gonna do? Eat out every day? I'm on a budget, good sir! Anyway, the store was neat. Couldn't read a word, hopefully I actually did just buy yogurt and not something else. Some poor Czech people had to deal with us (me plus + 2 other students) not being sure how to check out the veggy portion of our haul. But they were pretty businesslike and got us through and that's fine by me. They were very patient with our questions. My room is BIG. I bought the one room, so I'm by myself. I didn't expect that to mean I'd get two of everything. But yep! So I've got more room in this room than my one at home. It's quite impressive really. Silence-curfew is at 10 PM (though you can run around all night if you like, they don't mind), which while understandable makes everything in US time a bit hard (e.g. video calls, appointments). But fair. Doesn't mean I can't talk, I just gotta be more quiet. Twas reaaaaaaaally muggy getting in. It apparently was raining for three straight days. But it mostly burned off today. For the not great news, my new landlord has an LGBT shirt. Liberty, Guns, Beer, Trump. He ain't American, only speaks a bit of English, but I have never felt more uncomfortable. It's very ew. Other than that, Orientation starts in about half an hour and then the rest of the day is my own. Admittedly the orientation is long, but I should be able to snag pictures today.

Anyway, the store was neat. Couldn't read a word, hopefully I actually did just buy yogurt and not something else. Something like that happened to friends. It happened to be our dating anniversary when we were in Prague, so one night the husband and I went out on our own, and the friends we were traveling with stayed at the Airbnb to make dinner for themselves. I have one friend who basically can't cook anything except spaghetti but he insisted on making dinner for the others. At the store, he basically just grabbed the first can he saw that had red on it (because red = tomato sauce???). Turned out it was tuna fish in tomato sauce. It even said "Tunascovy" or something on it. He just made everyone weird tuna tomato pasta rather than go 3 blocks and get the right can, and it was apparently horrid.

Your landlord sounds like my neighbors. So strange that a non-American would have a shirt like that… Anyway, how’s adjusting to the new time zone going?

The shirt thing isn’t a surprise to me since I’ve moved to Europe. I see it sometimes, but it’s rare in my country. However, when I go to France, it apparently becomes a big thing.
Good luck with adjusting to the time change, Mint. It’s a lot at once. Sleep as much as you can if it’s possible.

eastern europe culturally is the equivalent of the South. which is to say in broad generalization that Western Europe thinks they're uneducated and backwards, while Eastern Europe thinks West Europe needs to get off its out-of-touch wealthy high horse also i think *Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* is a native Czech and might have suggestions as a local (apologies if I am mistaken)
