I have never been camping I've always wanted to. But my parents did a LOT of boy scouts and such with my four older siblings and by the time they got to me I think they were tired of it. Dad promised to take me for years but never did. It's a sad life I live...

It's a sad life I live... oh noo I'm sorry I really hope you're able to go camping someday ^^ it's probably too late for you to go to the scouts camp but maybe you could be a counselor if you wanted? that does seem to happen a lot though. I don't have any siblings myself but I have a friend whose older sibling had much more opportunities to do things. Also their parents did all the first milestone stuff with their first born. Being the youngest is lucky too I've heard.

I don't like camping. I've beeb multiple times, both with my dad and my Girl Scout troop. I hate the feeling/smell of sunscreen and bug spray, and we weren't allowed to go our own pace when doing activities so it wasn't fun at all.

I've never been camping, I've always wanted to, but they don't seem to make tents where they magically block out everything that my brother says and does

Ok. Here's a good one I know.(TW for mentioning of bugs)
I was at a girls summer camp hosted by my church. It was a somewhat small area in the forest. It had a clearing to set up tents, and in the back laid a few very old cabins. The cabins were dusty and mostly housed the spiders for now. We had our own ghost stories for them, the usual abandoned camp cabin stories. That was my first year at the camp, I was somewhat nervous but also very eager to be camping in a group. I shared a tent with two of my best friends and my twin. The first day went well, we played games and created team names, the usual camp stuff. However the next few days to follow wouldn't be so easy. Pouring rain, non-stop. We'd be fine if we had one of those rain covers, but we handed it to someone else to help save some of the camp's supplies. Our tent flooded that next morning as we rushed to get all of our stuff into the old cabins. It was the only other place available at the time. This however was summer, bugs where everywhere. Webs dusted the corners of the small cabin, along with the spiders that came with them of course. At night our only light source was a lantern and a few torches, yet with the cabin being bigger and more boxy than a tent, it didn't help much in illuminating the room. We still had each other though, yet it was still scary not knowing what critters could be lurking in our cabins at night. Little did we know then that we got the better end of the stick. Those who had tents that managed to stay dry became the new host for earwigs, who'd most likely been brought out due to the recent rain. I had fun at the camp however, and when the rain did eventually stop we went kayaking and learned some first-aid.
Anyways that's my story. I've been camping quite a lot and though the nights are tough it's always really fun.

i’ve been camping- or i should say i’ve attempted camping- once with my parents. it was awhile back so i can’t remember the details so great but we stayed at a cabin in a park that i can’t quite remember the name of now that wasn’t too far from where we lived at the time. the first day we got there it was pouring so we ended up staying inside, then i think my mom realized she forgot her meds or something so we ended up going back to the house that night to get them and just ate there since it was still raining at the cabin, then headed back again, and i think it was the next morning that my mom and i woke up sick and it was still raining so we just left asdfghjk

Some of my best memories have been made camping <3 Whether it was my immediate family, or getting a huge group site with my dad's side of the family, it's always been full of good food and good times.
- Tasty food, including huge breakfasts. Our saying was always "nobody eats better than us when we're camping" - Picking wild blueberries or blackberries, and making pancakes with them in the morning - So much biking, including one time that I broke the 25mph speed limit on my bike going down a steep hill - Just chilling and playing card games or Yahtzee or whatever with my family - Once got a sunburn that - despite copious amounts of sunscreen - was so bad that I actually still have a scar from it - A night hike program one park did: the particular hike I was on was incredible and special because we saw the northern lights, shooting stars, and heard coyotes howling. I was a young teen and wrote about it and they put it in the park's annual paper - My grandpa teaching me how to whittle. He once whittled a chain out of a + shaped piece of wood, and it actually had solid links and moved loosely like a real chain. Another time, he carved a bear, but realized it had 3 sets of legs! So he removed one from each of the front two sets to make it look like it was walking. xD - Reading Warriors books in the hammock, especially Firestar's Quest when it was released - The time there was a bad storm and we had to stand at the corners of the screen tent and hold it up for a while, and the fire pit was flooded ankle-deep with water in the morning
There was also a backpacking trip I did for college along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan, which was difficult (something like 33 miles in 5 days) but amazing. - Awesome clifftop views, and giant sand dunes at the end - Swimming in Lake Superior... and a terrifying moment when I got caught in a rip current - Seeing one of our guides try to feed a chipmunk and having it accidentally bite his hand - Picnic on the beach, and wild blueberries once when we stopped to rest - Our guide giving us riddles to figure out while walking. One of them involved a mention of an albatross and that word was said SO MANY TIMES that we all got so sick of it - Saw a shipwreck from the 1800s

I have camping stuff that I keep permanently in the back of my hatchback, have had several well-meaning coworkers think that I live out of my car and offer their places up to me because of it lmao
I love it though!! I've roadtripped all the way up and down the East coast several times camping the whole way in my lil pop up tent, it's just so much more affordable. I'll go out of my way to beach camp as well, nothing like night swimming and roasting soy hot dogs and s'mores :-)
Check out dark sky sites if you have some in your area too! You have to book way in advance but if you camp in one during a meteor shower the views are absolutely unreal

i've been camping one time, except for times i've 'camped' in my back garden, and it was a complete mess ahaha unexpectedly, we ended up in gale-force winds that knocked the tent down on us while we were sleeping. we managed to get it back up and for some reason my parents decided we should at least sleep through the night. the next morning while we were eating breakfast with some friends, a group of people came running to inform us that our tent had lifted off and was currently flying across the campground. we didn't put the tent back up after that.
on this same trip, i fell and badly injured my knee. i sprained it pretty badly, and also got a decently big wound that became infected and took nearly 4 months to fully heal. still have a massive scar from that haha

Despite living 20 minutes away from the Rocky Mountains I've never been camping. I really want to but I'm kinda paranoid about bears and cougars.

I like camping! My parents took me and my siblings p much every summer while we were children, and it was really fun. I think the coolest thing about the various parks we went to is that they all have so little light pollution if you look up at the night sky you can actually see all the stars. I also spent a month camping a couple years ago for my geology degree. We went to a bunch of national parks in the Western US like Grand Canyon and Arches and it was a lot of hiking and mapping. It's one of my favorite memories tbh <3 although it was super grimy and there wasn't any running water in a few of the places which was rough lol

my sister and my bro in law went camping all the time. now that their baby is here, they'll wait a few months to go camping again (and bring her along!)
so our family all wanted to go camping together, so we did that last year. was so amazing and fun. right next to the beach. legit, we slept in tents and sleeping bags. worst sleep of my life, but it was still worth it in the end.
i would love to try it again sometime, but next time, i'll be more prepared lol
