Hey, thanks to anyone who checks this out! I'm in the mood to roleplay some ideas, but I figured I would try something with more freedom than establishing a bunch of independent roleplays. You could consider this a bit like a plot shop, but it will be more of an open-ended, sandbox-style roleplay. That's about it. Not much fanfare right now, but maybe I'll spiff this up later.
Expectations
I don't want to scare anyone away with this, but I wanted to lay out some general expectations before we start anything, that way everyone knows what they're getting into.
βΌ For those of you who haven't met me, I'm Star, and escapism is my game. My ideas all tend to have some sort of "magical" or otherwise fantastical lilt, so if you're looking for something more grounded, I can't imagine you'll like any of my ideas much. I'm generally okay with chucking a bit of realism to the side for the sake of my fun. That said, I will pour hours of research into specifics for my worlds, just to end up getting it all wrong anyways, but that's show biz for you.
βΌ I enjoy creating lore-heavy and detailed worlds, so expect there will be a lot of world-building going on. I'd love to bounce ideas around with others and grow the world as we go, so please don't feel shy about adding your own input.
βΌ I don't particularly care about post length, but be warned that I do tend towards longer posts myself. I've been trying to regulate more, since I know it can put people in a bind during action- or dialogue-heavy posts. As long as you'd like to write more than a handful of lines, we should be okay. For the enjoyment of all parties, you should be comfortable writing in an "advanced" style.
βΌ I would prefer to roleplay with people who are 18 and over.
βΌ There's no particular form to fill out or anything, but try to include some information on what you'd like to roleplay. I've included some vague ideas below, but they are just to spark inspiration. If there's something particular you'd like to try, let me know and we'll work it out.
βΌ I try to have at least one reply up a week, but I can sometimes reach multiple a day, or have significant gaps. It really depends on my muse and how much work I have. No pressure if it takes you a while to reply or you lose interest, feel free to float in and out as you can/want.

βΌ Themes, Tropes & Archetypes: magic, mystery, exploration, changing times, monster hunters, mercenaries, royalty, seafaring, spacefaring, spies, dragon/gryphon/whatever riders, detective, powers
βΌ Locations: rainy port town, high-tech megalopolis ruins, city of the dead, shifting island, ship at sea, underwater empire, space mansion, desert full of hidden treasures, ancient forest, forgotten temple, magic academy, wizard tower
βΌ Dynamics: siblings, close friends, royal/guard, rivals but also kind of friends it's complicated, partners in crime, forced to work together, two people who hate each other and the one person who loves them both (and is very exasperated)
βΌ Current interests: mercenary duo, wasteland survival, mystery in the woods, faked prophecy, cursed family, negotiation gone wrong
Info will be added here as needed, whenever we establish some worldbuilding lore. I think it would be interesting to have the various plots take place within one world, but I am also not opposed to having multiple ones. We can have plots taking place on completely different continents, or even planets, if we so desire. Essentially, you can dream it, we can do it.

General fantasy species are abundant throughout the world, but we can put our own twists on them and even create some of our own. Many places are very integrated, with multiple sophonts coexisting, but some species may be more isolated, primarily due to differences in lifestyle and environmental needs (ex. aquatic species living almost exclusively underwater, winged species who reside at high altitudes unfit for most others, etc.).
Magic
Magic exists in this world, but limitations and rules vary throughout the world.
Basic Ideas
βΌ magic an individual possesses from birth, even if only becomes apparent later
βΌ magic that can be learned by all, regardless of species or other factors, through study and willpower
βΌ powers all members of a particular species have
βΌ magic that is achieved through connection with a more powerful being or which is gifted by a divinity
βΌ untamed, natural magic found throughout the world. governed by whims rather than rules, and only harnessed by the most powerful, brave, or mad (and probably all three)
