Clan Territory
Eagleclan rests in a beautiful forest territory with many small and important landmarks. The camp is located in the depths of the trees, hidden away in a small rocky gorge. A river leads through the territory and forms a waterfall into the slop of the gorge into a pool below. Behind that waterfall is a cave where the clan has made their home. On the left side of the territory, about 30 minutes away, rests a beautiful twoleg town. On the right side of the territory, about 20 minutes away, is a beautiful open grove where the medicine cat gathers herbs and lovers meet. Near the edge of the territory, between the twoleg-place and the grove, about a day's travel, rests a small mountain. At the base of the mountain rests a single cherry blossom tree in the middle of a pool of water. The leader/medicine cat must cross the small patch of water to lay beneath the Cherry blossom and share tongues with Starclan.
Hikers Path - Small twoleg path that leads from a twoleg-place through the forest. Abandoned.
Jumpers Tree - Large tree with large roots and branches. Used to teach apprentices to hunt/fight in the trees and climb.
Scout's Lookout - Located above the cave, next to the waterfall. Looks out over the camp and territory.
Twisted Roots - Two trees twisted together. Look to be hugging each other. Located in a secret grove at the edge of the forest. Where two felines become mates.
Paradise Grove - Where the Twisted Roots is located. Near the edge of the forest. Also, a good place for herbs. About 20 minutes from camp. On the opposite side of the territory that the town sits.
Twoleg's Peak - Small twoleg town tucked away about 30 minutes from the Camp.
Camp - A cave tucked underneath a waterfall. Right beside a pool of water. Tucked away in the forest, hidden from sight. Deep in the cave are individual tunnels that lead into separate quarters for each den. Closest to the outside of the cave on either side of the entrance is the Apprentice's den and Warrior's den. The Warriors den is the largest. The Warrior's den is located on the left of the cave when walking into the camp. Next to the warrior's den is the Nursery. On the back wall when walking into the camp, the Medicine cat's den and Leader's den sit side by side. On the right wall, is the Apprentice's den, and next to that, the Elder's den. The middle of the cave is a sloped rock where the leader calls meetings. Beneath that, tucked in the shadows of the large rock is a hollowed-out tree stump where the fresh-kill pile is kept. The Clan

~THE STORY SO FAR~
~A Clan wakes while a kit dreams~
FROST ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ Echo Location: Twoleg's Peak With: Flower & Willow(~Skyblaze~ ) & Jasper(little blu โฅ ) "I know you may feel like the world is small. But there is greatness in store for you and your siblings. A flash of bronze, a sturdy willow and an echo that will shake the future."
The words spoken to her seemed to fill her ears with a howl as she dreamed. While they started off as a familiar tone, then ended with the sound of a thousand voices. Beside her stood the pretty star-lit blue tinged molly, Skyripple, that often visited her dreams since she could walk. For the last six moons she had dreams full of herbs and healing and wild cats that roamed the lands outside the town. The starry warrior that visited her almost every night had claimed to be one of the founding members of a clan that made their home near a beautiful waterfall in a small gorge tucked away in the large forest territory right by the town. Or 'Twolegplace' as the starry warrior had mentioned to her. She'd told her stories of the clan growing and the ways of their life. From the youngest kit, to the oldest elder. How molly's often became queens and had at least one set of kits in their life. How kit's grew into apprentices and trained to be strong fighters and hunters for their clans. And the clan had a head warrior to lead them with a second in command. A leader and deputy, as she had said. And then their was a word that always peaked her interest. 'Medicine cat' That's what Skyripple was when she was alive and what she claimed Echo needed to train for.
"How are we suppose to be great, if we are stuck in the town as house cats.?" The words hardly left her mouth as Skyripple started to fade and her vision started to brighten with a light. Immediately, Echo was aware that she was about to wake from another dream. "Wait! Skyripple! I don't understand!"
"It is time to find your father, little Echo. It is time to leave your nest and start your destiny."
******
Blinking open large green eyes, sunshine flickered against the amber slits in them. A yawn revealed sharp rows of teeth as the little orange and white molly woke from her dream. She lay alone on a large tower that sat against a window. Sunshine warmed her flank and a sigh escaped her maw. While she had been having these dreams for 6 moons now, not once had Skyripple insisted she leave her mother and their human. The lady that homed them was elderly, but sweet. She had loved them tenderly and taken the best care of them. Yet, Echo couldn't help but feel restless, like her paws belonged somewhere else. She'd never asked much about her father, just known that he lived in the woods outside of the town. Now, Echo wondered if he belonged to the clan of warriors that the starry warrior had spoken of so many times.
Getting to her delicate paws, the small molly gave a stretch with her back arching up. After a moment, she looked around for her mother and siblings. It didn't take long to see the familiar tortoiseshell shape, curled up on the lap of their human. Sadness flickered in her gaze as she watched the pair, both snoozing in a chair. Would her mother forgive them if they left her.? Could they convince her to come with.? Would her siblings join her.? After a moment of watching, she turned and leaped down from the tower where she had lay. It didn't take long to find Willow and Jasper. "Hey. I had one of those dreams again." The words slipped from her maw as she padded up to them. "Skyripple seems to think it's time for us to leave home and go to the forest. She said it's time to find our father. Start our destiny." She sat beside them, eyes wide and confused. The little molly had told her siblings of her dreams from the very beginning. "Do you think father is one of those clan warriors I told you about.?"

Mothstar Location: Scout's lookout With: Brightpool(little blu โฅ ) The days seemed to drag by with a dullness the older Mothstar got. She loved her clan, no one could doubt that, she had just seen many seasons. She had led her clan for almost 65 moons, only a 25 moon old warrior when she received her 9 lives. Now, she only had 2 of those lives left. She didn't regret anything in her life, having given her clan many seasons of peace. Sure, they dealt with foxes, eagles and twolegs every once in awhile, but her clan hadn't known much chaos since the bought of greencough that wiped through the clan. She had been deputy when that happened and watched as Falconstar took his last breath. The medicine cat had lost his life in that same season from the same sickness. It'd been a horrible loss. Poor Brightpool had lost her mentor, Quiveringfern as she had lost her mentor and friend Falconstar. However, together the two of them had built the clan up from the sickness and loss and learned to lead the clan with each other to lean on.
As she thought of the elderly medicine cat beside her as they sat in the tree that hung over the waterfall that hid their home, Mothstar couldn't help but give a rusty purr. The friendship she'd built with the white and grayish brown dappled molly was beautiful. She didn't trust another soul as much as she trusted her. But now, she couldn't help but be concerned for her friend. She wasn't young anymore and anything could happen. They both knew that. So what was holding her friend back from choosing an apprentice.? Turning her clouding yellowish/blue eyes on the molly, she decided to question her again. "Brightpool. You know I've never doubted your decisions before. But this one I worry about. You've had plenty of choices in the last few moons. What is holding you back from taking an apprentice.? You know as well as I do that anything could happen."

Mountainpaw Location: Jumpers tree With: Thornflame(~Skyblaze~ ) "Come on, Mountainpaw. Are you a mouse or a cat. You can do this." Mountainpaw's voice boomed as she scolded herself. She'd been an apprentice for 3 moons now and still struggled to climb Jumper's tree. The massive tree had branches that moved for what felt like many fox-lengths. It's roots twisted and bulged from the earth around them. It's branches reaching to the sun, or so it felt to her. It was the place where all the apprentices of Eagleclan learned to hunt, climb and fight amongst the trees. Yet, she had never been able to get more than a few branches up without either, backing out in fear or slipping and falling. This time, she froze on the third branch, eyes wide and scared as she looked down at her mentors shape below. Nausea filled her and the world spun slightly. Trying to blink away her fear, the pretty white and silver molly tried to launch herself to the next branch. She'd seen the younger apprentices do it multiple times. Paws scrambled as she mistimed her jump, she struggled to hold onto the branches. After a moment, she fell down the tree, hitting a branch on the way down. She fell with a plop to the forest floor, groaning in pain. While she wasn't hurt, the wind had been knocked out of her.
"I'll never become a warrior if I can't climb. That's what makes Eagleclan...Well...Eagleclan." After a moment of catching her breath. the words came spilling out of her maw. Scrambling to her paws, the large molly sighed heavily. She couldn't imagine how disappointed the deputy, who happened to be her mentor, must feel. To get stuck with an apprentice that was scared of heights. "I just don't understand why I get so fearful up there. A kit could climb better than I could."

Adderpaw Location: In camp. With: Cinderpaw(~Skyblaze~ ) Adderpaw had been an apprentice for a moon. He'd done his best to learn all he could. Yet, he'd been hesitant to move on without Cinderpaw, Nightpaw and Batpaw. While the group was a moon younger than him and Russetpaw, they'd practically grown together in the nursery. But more than that, he'd found himself missing Cinderpaw. The little bright russet molly had been his closest friend in the nursery and he'd always been fond of her. Though he had still yet to understand the true meaning of what he felt or the pull he had towards her. At his age, he knew he cared for her, but saw his fondness for her as a friendship.
Now, the tom sat in his nest, amber eyes glued to Cinderpaw as she started to stir beside him. She'd been apprenticed just a few dawns before and had easily found a nest beside him in the apprentices den. Life seemed better now that her and her siblings had joined the apprentices. Though, the den was starting to get full. There were 10 of them now, keeping the clan on their toes as they tried to both train and keep the apprentices out of trouble.
After a moment, Adderpaw finally touched his nose to Cinderpaw's ear-tip. Their mentors would be coming to get them soon. Maybe they could train together. Or patrol or hunt. "Time to wake. Our mentors will be hunting us down soon. It's best to meet them in the main clearing, instead of them having to find us."

Sweetcloud Location: Twisted roots With: Kitewing(little blu โฅ ) Love. Sweet. Gentle. Wonderful. Love. Warmth. Happiness. Peace.
These were all things she felt when she looked at the handsome tom beside her. The thick mane around the black tom's next puffed out as he sat beside her in the branches of the Twisted Roots. The two trees twined together, resembling the lives of two warriors twining together when they became mates. This had become Sweetcloud's favorite place to be with her beloved mate. It had been the spot where she had confessed her affections for the younger warrior when he first received his name. Not many moons later, it'd been the spot that Kitewing had asked her to be his mate. Over 23 moons ago, she had brought her mate her to tell him they were expecting kits. Now, as they sat together, the words she wanted to say seemed to stick on the tip of her tongue.
Tail wrapped over her slightly swollen belly, Sweetcloud thought of the shock her mate might feel when she told him. She'd just found out earlier that morning when Brightpool had pulled her aside to inform her. Sweetcloud had imagined after so many moons since her kits had been in the nursery with her, she wouldn't have another litter. Now, here they were. She wasn't upset about it, Kitewing was a good father in her eyes. "Kitewing. I wanted to tell you.." She paused as she turned dark green eyes on the handsome tom. "Well..there will be some little ones running around our paws again soon." Brightpool had estimated that in a moon and a half, she would be bringing kits into the world. She would fill out soon, unable to keep her pregnancy a secret.
She held her breath as she waited for the toms reaction and couldn't help but feel anxious. For herself. For her mate. For her clan. Oh. And for her apprentice. Who would finish out Primrosepaw's training.? She would be able to train her for a little over a half moon, before having to move to the nursery. She knew she'd have to inform Mothstar and Thornflame later that evening.

Nightpaw Location: In camp With: Batpaw(little blu โฅ ) Dropping a squirrel at her brothers paws, Nightpaw stood with a triumphant look on her face. The brown creature was plump and warm, just freshly caught. Giving a little hot on black paws, the black and white bengal molly gave a mighty purr. "Look at what I caught, Batpaw!" Light blue eyes sparkled as she nudged it closer to the black tom. "Thistlehaze took me out for a dawn hunt and said I could bring this back to share!" She glanced around to see if her sister had appeared from the apprentice's hollow. It was no shocker to know she hadn't emerged yet, especially with Adderpaw still in his nest. The two were like two peas in a pod.
Turning her attention back to Batpaw, Nightpaw plopped down beside the tom. Chattering like a starling, "Thistlehaze says I'm one of the best hunters he's seen. He's tested me the last 3 dawns since we received our apprentice names! Said I had my hunters crouch and leap right on point!" She swiped her tail against her brothers side as she went on. "What does Emberdrift have in store for you.? He always seems to sleep in, unless he is forced to go on dawn patrol." She'd noticed even when she was a kit how the young warrior preferred only to emerge from the Warriors hollow when the sun had risen in the sky. Yet, when he was awake, he was attentive to the clan.

Wolfkit Location: Medicine cats den With: Hawkkit(~Skyblaze~ ) & Mousekit(little blu โฅ ) Slinking through the shadows of the cave that made Eagleclan's home, Wolfkit led his two siblings towards the medicine cat's den. Their mother, Moonlily, had been fast asleep in the large feather filled nest in the nursery. It hadn't taken much for the mischievous duo to find something to do. Now, as he peaked his head into the medicine cat's cave, an excited rumble exploded from his throat. Waving his stubby tail, the little cream and brown kit dove into the cave. He kept his paws light, even though he had seen Brightpool leave with Mothstar. Exploding out of the tunnel that led to the den, he found himself in a wide opening. Crevices lined one wall of the den with more herbs than he could count. A small pool formed under a pointed rock in the ceiling where water dripped from a crack in the ceiling.
"Whoaa.." He could barely get the words out as he scurried towards the herb piles. Bright berries caught his eyes and the kit pawed them across the den floor towards Mousekit and Hawkkit. "Look at this! Don't they look yummy!?" While they had been warned multiple times to never eat anything they didn't know was safe, Wolfkit couldn't help but want to try the herbs that scattered along the wall. He turned back and pawed at a few different herbs, sending leaves and flowers flying all over the den. A sneeze escaped from him, sending poppy seeds scattering around him. "Ooops!"

Willow | Twoleg's Peak | Echo (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Jasper (little blu โฅ ) ___________________________________________________
Willow fixed her littermate with a skeptical blue gaze, clearly unconvinced. While she supported her sister and they were close, the little tortoiseshell had never put much stock in the idea of starry cats and ferocious fighters outside of town. โEven if he was, it sounds dangerous.โ She pointed out with a flick of her tail. โWe see enough of fighting cats around the town. We hear them hissing and screeching every night, fighting over the housefolkโs garbage. And from the sound of things, these forest cats are even worse. Is this really the best decision?โ Just the thought of meeting cats so vicious and aggressive was daunting.
Willow had never had any strange dreams, and a life away from the warm and comfortable house sounded isolating and frightening. Though she sounded unsure, her gaze was solemn. She would look out for siblings no matter what they chose, even if the decision didnโt sit right with her. Willow could be stubborn and a bit spoiled, and downright difficult to get along with at the worst, but she was also confident, assertive, and loyal. It would be worth it to get her on board, but that wouldnโt be easy unless things made sense to her. โAt the very least, we should talk to mother, donโt you think?โ She mused, a bit grumpily. All the talk about leaving had her on edge. Not to mention, she hadnโt eaten yet, so she was both hungry and grumpy. Not the best combination. She whipped her head around to look at her brother. โWhat do you think of all this, Jasper?โ She questioned. It had always been a good thing that there were three of them. Ties would always be broken, and they were a good mix of personalities.

Thornflame | Jumper's Tree | Mountainpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ) __________________________________________________
From below the tree, Thornflameโs russet and brown form could barely be seen, blending in with the leaf litter of the forest floor. Only vivid green eyes, fixed upon his apprentice up in the trees, showed that there was indeed a cat there. The eyes widened in alarm as Mountainpaw missed her jump, and the silver and white she-cat tumbled unceremoniously to the ground. โMountainpaw!โ The deputy mewed as he leaped over to her side. He nosed her carefully, but the branch hadnโt been too high, so no damage had been done. Letting out a small puff of air, the tom leaned back and let his apprentice get to her feet.
While most of Mountainpawโs training had been progressing great, climbing remained the one hurdle she seemed unable to overcome. It had been three moons since theyโd been coming to this tree. While large, it had numerous branches from top to bottom, perfect for even a skittish beginner to learn how to climb. Thornflame had initially expected it to be easy. Even the most uncomfortable apprentices managed Jumperโs Tree a few sunrises into their apprenticeship. By three moons in, the other apprentices would have moved on to the much taller mountain trees that spiraled out from the crags into the sky. Those were slippery and bare of many branches, but by that point the apprentices would be much more confident climbers. Thatโs how it had been for him and every other EagleClan cat as long as he could remember. Thatโs what made mentoring this particular obstacle so difficult; heโd never experienced anything like it. Climbing and jumping came easily to him, and he loved the exhilaration of that moment between branches, the wind in his fur and nothing beneath his paws.
Nevertheless, he could see how frustrated Mountainpaw looked with herself, and he was determined to not let his apprentice see any of his concerns on his face. โDonโt say that.โ He replied gently, flicking her ear with his white tail-tip. โYouโre doing just fine. You just need to forget about the ground and stop looking down. Just think about the branch youโre on and the branch in front of you.โ Shaking out his pelt, he looked up at the tree. It seemed so much smaller than it had when he had been an apprentice, and he wondered just how big it appeared to Mountainpaw. โWhy donโt we try it together?โ He suggested. โWeโll just go one branch at a time, me and you. You can stop whenever you want.โ And itโll be easier to catch her if she panics. He noted mentally.

Cinderpaw | Apprentice's Den | Adderpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ) _________________________________________________
It took a moment for Cinderpaw to awaken, but once she did, it seemed the russet she-cat was full of energy as usual. Her golden eyes were brimming with enthusiasm, and only warmed further as she looked at Adderpaw. Then, her fluffy tail shot up like a rocket. โAdderpaw!โ She mewed cheerfully. โGood morning! Is it past sunhigh? Have I been sleeping all day? Shadowmask is going to have my tail!โ She then paused, blinking as she realized that it was not yet sunhigh, and that she was fine. Then, unfazed, the torrent continued. โWhat do you think weโll be doing today? Hunting? Fighting? I hope its hunting, Iโm starving! I think I could eat a whole rabbit! In fact I think Iโll check the fresh-kill pile now! I hope they have voleโฆโ
Still continuing on like a chattering starling, she pranced around her denmate merrily. There was rarely a moment when Cinderpaw wasnโt a ball of shining optimism that couldnโt melt the stony exterior of even the most hardened cat. She was sweet to a fault, bubbly and hyper. Underneath it all though, she was also kind and a genuinely good friend. She was also quite smart. Any cat who mistook her for a naรฏve airhead was sorely mistaken. โCome on, Adderpaw!โ She urged once more. โAll the good pieced will be gone!โ
~
Hawkkit | Medicine Den | Wolfkit (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Mousekit (little blu โฅ ) ______________________________________________________________
Hawkkit hung back slightly, a little more apprehensive at this mission than his littermates. He prodded a juniper berry as it came to a clattering stop by his brown paws, blue eyes showing he was clearly skittish about all this. "We really shouldn't be in here, Wolfkit." He mewed solemnly, bending down to sniff the bright scarlet berry, before turning back to glance nervously at the den entrance. His white fur was ruffled slightly and his tail flicked every few seconds, displaying his agitation. Hawkkit had always been a straight-laced type, serious and introspective. He was also quite protective of his siblings however, so he'd follow them anymore, no mater how mousebrained he thought the scheme was.
He let out a soft sigh as he watched Wolfkit surrounded by the mess he'd just made. This was going to be bad when Brightpool returned. "StarClan save us from Mothstar." He grumbled softly as he padded deeper into the den. If he was going to be stuck here, he might as well make the best of it. He sniffed curiously at the large, tangy smelling dock leaves, then scrunched his nose at the acrid yarrow. The tansy had a much more pleasant scent, and despite himself, the small kit found himself taking a tiny, tentative nibble.

Falconwing | Hiker's Path | Goldpaw (little blu โฅ ) ____________________________________________
"Alright, Goldpaw, what can you smell?" Falconwing asked as he crouched low on the winding dirt path that twolegs had dug out countless seasons ago. The cream and brown tom had a patrol coming later, so he had decided to take the opportunity for some early hunting with his apprentice. There was no more twoleg activity on the path, which had led to an abundance of fresh-kill along it. It was a great place to practice stalking, and with little cover, a cat would have to be smart about positioning and the wind to make a successful catch.
Falconwing felt a surge of pride as he looked at the sandy tom beside him. The training was coming along great, and the two of them got along well. He was happy with how far along the young tom had gotten in just two moons, and he enjoyed working with him. Goldpaw wasn't his first apprentice, and certainly wouldn't be his last. Falconwing was great with young cats, and his mentoring record showed it. His thoughts flickered briefly to the only kits in the nursery, the other source of his pride. Wolfkit, Hawkkit, and Mousekit were getting larger and were well on their ways to becoming apprentices in a couple of moons. He wondered if he'd get the chance to mentor any of them, then decided against the idea. As good as he normally was, he knew he'd be too soft on them. He always was. The sharp scent of squirrel returned him to the present hunt, and he turned to his apprentice, wondering if the younger tom had detected it as well.

Leopardsong | Camp | Sablewish (little blu โฅ ) _________________________________________
Leopardsong stretched luxuriously as he exited the warrior's den, the sun's rays rippling along his bengal pelt. Now that his kits were out of the nursery, it seemed as if he had more time to sleep in before duties. While they were still kits, most of his mornings were spent in the nursery, stealing a few moments where he could before patrols. As he padded over to the fresh-kill pile, enjoying the warmth of the dirt underneath his paws, he spotted Batpaw and Nightpaw outside the den. He let out a purr as he picked up a vole and carried it to his mate, pride swelling in his chest.
"They've gotten so big!" He murmured as he settled down beside the slender black warrior. "It seems like just last moon they were tiny little mites squirming around in the nursery. Now they're catching their own prey." Almost immediately after, he heard a hyper mew come from the apprentice's den, no doubt Cinderpaw, and he shook his head in amusement. "Some things never change, though." He added, though the pride was still unmistakable in his mew. "From the way she goes about things, you'd think there was an entire pack of badgers inside that den."

Creekpaw | Camp | Primrosepaw (little blu โฅ ) ________________________________________
Creekpaw was seething as she stormed into camp, clutching two mice in her jaws. Her fur was bristling, and her distress was clear as day to see. She practically flung the prey onto the fresh-kill pile, and spotting her sister, immediately flounced over. "Look at that!" She spat, so angry she was almost hissing. "Two pieces of prey! Two! It would have been three if I hadn't let that stupid pigeon get away! It was right in my paws and I'm sure Kitewing was watching!" To most apprentices, two additions to the fresh-kill pile would be considered a success, but Creekpaw had always been an overachiever. She was her own harshest critic, and while fumbles didn't usually happen, they usually resulted her in her self-destructing.
"He didn't even say anything after the assessment finished!" She went on. "Just dismissed me and went to see Sweetcloud. He must be angry with me, I'm sure with it!" Her mew pitched into a wail as she shook her head. "This was such an important assessment and I've ruined it!" Her leaf green eyes were wide and troubled. "I said I was going to be leader one day, but at this rate, I won't even become a warrior..." She muttered, turning her gaze towards the ground. Creekpaw had always had lofty expectations, even when she was still a kit. She was a hard worker and studious learner who was more likely to overwork herself to exhaustion than to laze off. Even so, she often found her worst enemy to be herself.

Russetpaw padded into camp with a large squirrel clamped proudly in her jaws. She placed her prey on the fresh-kill pile, and looked around, spotting Nightpaw and Batpaw, and padded over. "Hey, Nightpaw, Batpaw!" She called out with a friendly purr. "Have you seen my dormouse of a brother? I was going to ask Firebelly if Fallowstream would led us do some battle training together today." She explained. Then, Cinderpaw's excited squeal came out of the apprentice's den, and Russetpaw's whiskers twitched in amusement.
"Looks like there's my answer. Not that I'm surprised." She added, rolling her eyes playfully. Though Adderpaw's affections seemed to still hide from himself, they were more apparent to other apprentices, especially his perceptive sister. "What about you two?" She asked, turning her amber gaze to the younger littermates. "Any fun training planned?" She liked the younger litter. Born only a moon apart, they'd spent nearly their entire nursery days together. Plus, it now meant that Russetpaw and Adderpaw weren't the youngest apprentices anymore, as Splashpaw and Goldpaw seemed to remind her. It was nice to have a little more seniority in the cramped den, though all the litters were close in age, with only three moons separating the oldest litter to the youngest. It would be a while yet before Moonlily's kits were ready to join them.

Jasper with Echo & Willow twoleg's peak @ โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ , ~Skyblaze~ Thin red yawn tangled around the young tom's body as he wrestled with the diminishing ball, a playful growl in his throat. He narrowly avoided bowling into both Willow and the peach-colored wall that made up the main living space of their nest. He lost momentum against the thick carpet and rolled to a halt, loops of string hanging down into his face. Laughter bubbled up in his chest and he shook his head in vain, trying to free himself from the mess of yarn he'd created. Jasper much preferred playing with his sisters or his mother but he could entertain himself when needed. A soft thump distracted him from his struggle, turning his attention to Echo as she padded towards him and their sister. His sea-blue eyes analyzed her expression carefully, his playful mood fading. Something was bothering her, he could tell. He'd always been good at reading others, almost too good sometimes.
The tom tensed at the mention of Echo's dreams. He'd always been a bit wary of them, if only because he didn't know how to react or help his sister. He couldn't protect her from something he couldn't see. His ears pressed flat against his skull at the mention of leaving home. Were they really supposed to listen to a strange starry cat in Echo's dreams? Why had he and Willow never seen Skyripple if this grand destiny was important for all of them? Unease mixed with frustration as more and more questions built up in his mind. The mention of his father sparks his anger. "Even if he is, who cares. He left," he mutters so softly that neither of his sisters seems to hear. As far as Jasper was concerned, the trio didn't have a father and he was perfectly fine with that - or he tried to make himself believe he was. He'd often wished for a father as a kit - someone to relate to since he'd been surrounded by she-cats, but now he just felt resentment. He'd become the little tom of the house, looking after his sister and mother to the best of his ability.
Willow wanted his opinion, of course. The three always decided things together, as a unit. He took in a deep breath, trying to push down his frustration so that he could think over everything clearly. The weight of his sisters' gazes bore into him. "I think Willow is right. These forest cats you've told us about sound dangerous. We should talk to Mom, she might have more of an idea of what's out there," he finally spoke, flexing the claws out of his left paw absently. "I don't want to disregard your dreams, Echo, I know they mean a lot to you. It's just... frustrating to hear of this apparent destiny when we aren't getting the same dreams," he tried to explain to his sister, seeking out her green and amber eyes. Jasper was close to both of his litter-mates but they were individuals and had a wide range of personalities. That's what made them balance out each other so well - what made them work together as a solid unit.
Brightpool with Mothstar scout's lookout @ โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ If she closed her eyes, Brightpool could pretend that she was a young apprentice again, chasing her brother, Talonswoop, up the Scout's Lookout and laughing when Bearpaw and Runningpaw dared them to climb higher. Silverheart and Leafpounce had been so upset when they'd found the apprentices dangling in the unstable branches.
Then the sickness had befallen her parents and she'd changed her path, following Quiveringfern into medicine without a second glance. She remembered her mentor's quiet nature and stern glances. He'd always been so serious and all her attempts to tease him into lightening up had ended up with battered ears and scolding. No one could lecture like Quiveringfern. Brightpool couldn't remember respecting anyone so much in her life... aside from Mothstar. The days of her youth felt as though they'd just taken place as if life was moving too quickly for the old medicine cat to keep up with.
She was 79 moons old now and she'd watched the clan grow and change as each season passed. Her amber gaze slid to the messy furred, brown and white molly beside her, an echoing purr rumbling in her chest. Deputies had - unfortunately - come and gone but the two of them had remained solid throughout it all. Her best friend was undoubtedly Mothstar, and everyone in the clan knew how close the two felines were. They relied on each other to lead their clan and guide them towards survival and safety.
The concerning question wasn't new, nor was it unprecedented. Even Brightpool herself was beginning to grow a bit worried if she was completely honest. A sigh escaped her as she struggled to find the proper words to explain. "I've tried, Mothstar. I've looked at every apprentice and kit... twice! StarClan keeps warning me to wait. Skyripple and Hazebelly are especially persistent. Quiveringfern always skirts around the issue," she explained, gritting her teeth in exasperation. She often wondered if it was a problem with herself. How could she not be ready for an apprentice after all these moons?
Kitewing with Sweetcloud twisted roots @ โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ There would never be a place that brought the tom more peace than being at Sweetcloud's side. His gaze danced across her soft gray coat and dark green eyes, all the way down to her white toes. She was tucked warmly against his side, her pelt mixing with his much darker one. He felt a bit like a giant compared to her but didn't hesitate to rest his chin on top of her silky head. A loud, thunderous purr rose to his throat and he let his eyes fall half-closed. Though the two were silent, there was no awkwardness between them. Just a sense of togetherness that made Kitewing feel complete and loved.
The tom felt his mate shift and he sat up, preparing herself for whatever news she had. They didn't come all the way to Twisted Roots just to bask in the sun after all. This place had special meaning, it was an important space to the couple. Kitewing's yellow-hued green eyes fell on her face, watching carefully as a mix of emotions played across her delicate features. Hm. He had to wonder if something had happened with Smokedrift or Thistlehaze. His protective instincts surged to the forefront and he curled his thick tail tightly around his mate. Those kits of his might be fully grown but he'd move mountains for them and Kitewing certainly wouldn't hesitate to rip some ears if someone had messed with them.
Sweetcloud's news hit him like a stone to the solar plexus. She was pregnant again... after all these moons? He stared at her uncomprehendingly for a few moments, unsure he'd heard her right. Then his booming purr was back, tenfold, and he pushed his cheek into hers, rubbing his scent into her fur. "Kits? We're gonna be parents again, Sweets?" the tom murmured, stepping back to take in his mate's form. Now that he looked closely, Kitewing could see the small swell of her stomach where their little ones were growing. Pride puffed out his chest and he bent to press his nose against her flank. "They're going to be perfect," he growled, affection glowing in his bright eyes. He had never allowed himself to imagine having more children and his son and daughter had always been enough for him. Now though, he couldn't help but be excited at the prospect of meeting the new little lives that he and Sweetcloud had created together.
Mousekit with Hawkkit & Wolfkit medicine den @ ~Skyblaze~ , โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ The tiny runt had of course not hesitated to follow her brothers into the medicine den, afraid of being left behind. She looked around with big blue eyes at all the pretty flowers and plants that lined the walls, taking a hesitant step closer. She leaped back, startled when Wolfkit rolled out some shiny red berries. Awe touched her face as she batted one across the floor, her thin tail swiping the ground behind her. "They do look yummy!" she agreed, pawing a smaller berry closer to her. She took a large bite into it, wincing at the tart, slightly bitter flavor. Frowning, Mousekit peered over at Hawkkit. He seemed worried.
"Maybe we should go-" she started to say but was cut off when her brother spilled poppy seeds all over the floor. They were so little! The tiny kit scooped a few up with her tongue and swallowed them, wrinkling her nose a bit. "Doesn't taste very good," she reported to her litter-mates, ignoring the sore feeling in her stomach. They hadn't eaten breakfast yet and the molly predicted she was just hungry. A sugary, sweet scent caught her attention suddenly and the kitten let out a squeal of delight.
Rushing towards the back of the small cave, in one of the lower shelves, Mousekit found the source of the smell. "Honey!" she called out to her brothers, flashing them a big grin. Before she could have any of the golden goodness, however, her stomach cramped hard, and the small feline sat down heavily. That was weird, she didn't feel so good.
Goldpaw with Falconwing hiker's path @ sky The pale gold colored tabby lifted his muzzle, his mouth open to take in as many scents as he could. Leaves danced above their heads, the undergrowth rustling on either side of the feline duo. After a few deep breaths, he dipped his head in a nod, turning to face Falconwing with an easy confidence on his face. "There was a squirrel near here recently, the scent is still fresh," Goldpaw responded, before spinning on quiet paws toward the east and pointing with his fluffy tail, "and it's in that direction." His bicolored eyes narrowed for a moment before he smiled, peeking back at his mentor for any sign of approval.
Goldpaw was always searching for the older tom's acceptance and pride, even if he didn't outwardly show it. The tom had never known his father and in result latched on a bit tightly to Falconwing, as a strong male influence in his life. "Should we go after it?" he asked, keeping his tone low. The tom was quite skilled when it came to climbing, like many of his other clan-mates, but tracking is where he was truly exceling. The tom had a sharp nose. He had even helped to hunt down Nightpaw and her siblings when they'd wandered out of camp a few moons ago, before they were apprenticed. It had been a stormy, harsh day but the apprentice had managed to find the traces of the kits' scents. He'd been the one to find the kits who were huddled under some tree roots.
Sablewish with Leopardsong camp @ ~Skyblaze~ Sablewish had woken up early this morning, feeling restless. A possible touch of empty-nest syndrome. So she'd gone for a run through the territory, pushing herself as fast as she could, ignoring the burn in her limbs. She'd made it all the way to Paradise Grove and then the molly had worked her way back, a bit slower this time so she didn't pull a muscle. Now, the black-furred warrior was resting in the sun beside the warrior's den, stretched out in the grass and keeping an eye on her kits as she bathed. If she strained her ears she could just pick up the soothing chirp of Nightpaw's chatter and a smile spread across her muzzle.
Her attention turned to her mate when Leopardsong settled down beside her, setting a vole down between his paws. His handsome russet coat seemed to catch in the sunlight and shine and once more Sablewish was dazzled. The molly was... plain. Average in almost all aspects, so it genuinely had come as a shock to her when the tom had taken an interest. She'd been skeptical, knowing about the tom's charming reputation, but his persistence had won her heart. She adored the tom like no other and their kits were her world.
"I know, it all seemed to go so fast. I'm so excited to see what their future holds," she purred, nodding her head in agreement. Her golden gaze slid to the apprentice's den at the hyper cry, knowing she'd recognize the sound of her daughter's voice anywhere. "Not a pack of badgers, just a Cinderpaw who woke up late," Sablewish laughed, shaking her head. Their oldest kitten didn't need a reason to begin dramatic and loud antics. That's just how she was. "I bet Adderpaw is still in there with her," she whispered conspiratorially, flashing a grin at Leopardsong. The black molly could see how close the two were, even if the apprentices might not understand it themselves. They were young after all.
Primrosepaw with Creekpaw camp @ ~Skyblaze~ Primrosepaw hadn't felt right in a few days. Her body ached and her head felt as though all this pressure was inside of it. This made it increasingly difficult to wake up, as sleep was the only escape from the horrid feeling. At the same time, Creekpaw wasn't the only one out of the sisters who preferred to work hard. The two were quite the little duo that way, but the flame-point molly had always been a lot more forgiving towards herself and her sister's "faults". So she'd woken up at a decent time but hadn't seen hide nor hair of her mentor. To be honest she was beginning to think Sweetcloud was avoiding her. A sigh escaped the molly before her head snapped up, blue eyes locked onto Creekpaw as she marched over with steam practically rolling out of her ears.
The apprentice listened patiently to her sister's woes, nodding her head thoughtfully. A frown of outrage settled on her face, upon hearing that Kitewing had gone to visit her mentor. "Oh, so she can make time for her mate but not her apprentice! Well fine then, I'll just find someone else to train me," she growled, her anger hiding a deeper hurt, secretly wondering what she'd done to make Sweetcloud lose interest. Then, realizing that her being upset was not at all going to help Creekpaw calm down, Primrosepaw took some deep breaths, letting her problems sit on the backburner for now. "Sorry," she apologized, a bit sheepishly.
"Pigeons are tricky to catch anyway, Creek, please don't beat yourself up about it! You caught a huge squirrel and a robin, those will feed plenty," the ginger and creamy white molly soothed, running her tail down her sister's spine. "Plus, I've never managed to catch a squirrel! You might have to teach me," she exclaimed, genuine admiration in her tone. "Kitewing never says much, you know by now not to take it personally. And you'll definitely still be made a warrior, a lousy pigeon isn't going to stand in my sister's way!" Primrosepaw cheered, though she meant every word. She believed in Creekpaw and her dreams like no other, even her own ambitions. She sat down a bit stiffly, trying to ignore the achy, horrible feeling.
Batpaw with Nightpaw & Russetpaw camp @ โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ , ~Skyblaze~ The quiet tom settled outside the tunnel to the apprentices den, working at the ground with worried paws. He nearly jumped out of his fur when his sister approached him, so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't notice her ambling over. He relaxed instantly at the lull of her voice, as familiar to him as Sablewish's warm lilt. His wide green eyes took in the squirrel with no lack of awe, his mouth even dropping open for effect. He'd barely been able to catch his own tail, let alone such a tricky prey. Nightpaw really was the best hunter!
"You're so cool, Nightpaw," he mewed quietly, peering up at her with a shy smile. Thistlehaze must be lucky to have such a capable apprentice. Of course, he and his siblings had often tried to learn their skills before the end of the nursery days - but only Nightpaw and Cinderpaw ever seemed to succeed. Batpaw winced at the mention of Emberdrift, his ears and tail drooping. While his sisters had all these amazing stories... his training was going about as well as a fish living on land. He couldn't seem to get down the basic hunting crouch, fighting moves left him confused and clumsy, and when he'd tried his paw at tracking, he'd wound up stuck in a hawthorn bush. Batpaw felt every sunrise like more of an outsider, an imposter in his home.
Russetpaw's appearance was a wonderful distraction, so he didn't have to answer his sister's inquires. Another shy smile touched his muzzle at the mention of Cinderpaw and Adderpaw. The two were very close and had always been that way, for as long as Batpaw could remember, honestly. "Yep," he mumbled, nodding his head awkwardly. Sometimes he wondered why he even opened his mouth. Ugh, another question about training. The thin black tom was eager to get the subject off of him, so he answered as quickly as he could. "Nope, nothing comes to mind. Just boring stuff," he said, peering at Nightpaw expectantly.

Flower Location: Twoleg's Peak With: Echo(Myself) & Willow(~Skyblaze~ ) & Jasper(little blu โฅ ) Dreams of her past seemed to have haunted the delicate house-cats mind for the last moon. She'd taken refuge on her elderly housefolk's lap in hopes that she'd have more peaceful visions in her rest. Yet, as she drifted to a soft sleep with her housefolk's hand resting gently on her side, her dreams found the face of one oh so familiar. Once again, a pang of heartache hit her chest and twisted in her stomach. Those frosty ice-blue eyes filling with disappointment and grief, before the deep russet bengal turned and walked away from her, muscles rippling beneath his flank. Raindrops started to scatter around the tortoiseshell as she watched the handsome warrior walk away, slipping among the thick forest at the edge of the town where her home resided. Rain poured so hard, her fur became soaked, clinging to her body. She could hardly see as she squinted with regretful amber eyes. "Good-bye Leopardsong.."
****
Ears flicked as the sound of her kits voices filled her scattered sleep and broke her from the terrible dream. She stayed curled on her housefolks lap, eyes closed as she let their words be carried to her. While they often assumed she wasn't aware of the conversations that had started with Echo quite frequently, she had heard much of her daughters dreams and the conversations with her siblings about them. Now, dread filled her stomach like a rock as they spoke of leaving. The mention of the kits father was brought up once more and she couldn't help but feel the thick sadness start to swallow her up again. While she hardly spoke of the three little one's father, she had simply told them her was a tom who lived in the woods outside of the town. They knew not of his name or that he lived as a warrior with a group of his own to care for.
Would her little ones ever forgive her if they learned the truth.? That their father was a great defender of a clan.? Would they understand if she explained to them that Leopardsong had not abandoned them.? That he didn't have any clue they existed at all.
Her mind flashed back to the stormy day she had become aware that she was carrying the toms kits. She'd met him at the edges of her territory and his, ready to tell him that he was going to be a father. Yet, the words had never left her mouth. Leopardsong had come with his own intentions, begging her to join his clan. He'd shown her the ways of a warrior, taught her fighting and hunting skills. The warrior had explained to her the ways of the warrior code and clan life. She'd been so eager to learn, so happy to be a small part of his clan life. Yet, when he had asked her to leave her housefolk and join his clan, she had turned away. She had refused to go, insisting that it was no life for her and her home was with the elderly lady that had raised her from a young kit. They'd said their good-bye's and never saw or spoke to each other again. She'd often returned to their meeting spot, wishing she had taken him up on his offer. She still had her wonders about what her life would been if they were together now. Her kits would have been made apprentices half a moon ago, taken on mentors to become warriors like their father.
Shaking her head, she tried to get rid of the thoughts and memories that clouded her mind. Her head swiveled around and amber eyes pierced her kits as she watched them speak with their backs to her. Jumping down lightly from her housefolks lap, she padded towards her kits. She'd heard their entire conversation and knew it was time she spoke with them. After all, they were old enough to made their own decisions and decide what path they wanted. How could she deny them a life outside of this home, when there was a whole other world out there.?
"Sometimes there are chosen ones that our ancestors speak with to help guide the paws of many."
She spoke up, her voice gentle and full of awe as she gazed lovingly at first Echo and then Willow and finally her son, Jasper. The three had an undeniably strong bond, one she knew could never be broken.
Settling down beside her kits, she curled her bushy tail around delicately small paws. Her eyes traveled over the faces of her three kits, once more, before she decided to speak again. "Those forest cats are called a clan. They are strong and brave and take care of each other." She paused, a purr catching in her throat. "Oh, they are dangerous, but only when it comes to defending their territory and the members of their clans. Loyalty is strong in Eagleclan." Her voice almost became a whisper as she spoke the name of the clan. "Your father..."Her voice broke as she started to speak of the Eagleclan tom. She cleared her throat and looked towards the window that showed the cloudy sky. "Leopardsong is his name. Is a warrior in that forest. Jasper, you look so much like him." She gave another purr, this one thick as she perked her ears up. "But he had these frosty ice-blue eyes, ones you couldn't stop looking at once you caught them. The things he taught me, how different your lives...Our lives could have been." Regret was thick in her voice and amber eyes clouded with thought as she continued to watch the clouds drift past in the sky.

Echo Location: Twoleg's Peak With: Flower(Myself) & Willow(~Skyblaze~ ) & Jasper(little blu โฅ ) Staring first into skeptical blue eyes as her sister spoke up, the unsureness clear in her voice. Next, she turned and met the sea-blue eyes of her brother as he took his turn in speaking. She tried not to show her disappointment as both hesitated at her urges to follow her dreams. Whiskers twitched uncomfortably as she looked back and forth between the two. The mention of bringing their mother into the conversation made her belly flip. She opened her mouth to protest when the sweet gentleness of Flower's voice touched her ears. She jumped, ears-tips burning with shame as she settled down next to Jasper. Yet, her green and amber eyes only widened with curiosity and surprise as their mother spoke, not giving any of them a chance to respond.
The look that seemed to cloud over her mother's face as she spoke of their father in depth for the first time, made her chest tighten. Moving closer, she brushed against her mother's side, fur touching. Awe filled her as she spoke of the clan that lived in the forest. Just like Skyripple had said for so many moons. Her mother only confirmed her dreams for her. Excitement seemed to tug at her paws, causing her longing to find the clan and her father to only grow. She glanced at her siblings with a knowing look, as if to tell them that this was just a confirmation of what her dreams had been telling her. "I wonder what it'd be like to live among them.." She breathed softly, letting her gaze follow her mothers to the world outside the windows. How amazing it must be, to take care of those around you. How thrilling life must be on the outside of the town.

Mothstar Location: Scout's lookout With: Brightpool(little blu โฅ ) For a moment, Mothstar watched as her friend remained silent beside her. It wasn't until the medicine cat turned her amber eyes on her, that she could almost feel the worry that she was sure her friend was feeling as well. Yet as she spoke, Mothstar couldn't help but feel the frustration welling up inside her. What could Starclan possibly be holding back for.? Did Starclan expect Brightpool to be the healer to Eagleclan well after Mothstar was gone.? Even they could not prevent that one day, the two molly's that had supported and led the clan for many seasons, would one day have to leave the clan and join their clanmates among the stars.
Keeping her eyes on the molly beside her, Mothstar's whiskers twitched thoughtfully. Starclan had always had a reason for everything. Yet, another thought seemed to wonder into her mind. "Has Starclan spoken to you lately.? Given you any new prophecies or glimpses into the future.?" She titled her head slightly, her messy brown and white fur seemed to rise slightly on her shoulder as she leaned in closer to her friend. Curiosity was thick in her yellow and blue rimmed eyes. "They've been pretty quite these past few moons. Besides to tell you to wait on an apprentice."
After another moment of silence, the leader took a deep breath, before letting it out slowly. She let her gaze travel around their surroundings. How beautiful Eagleclan's territory was. How calming the waterfall beneath them sounded in her ears. Her gaze traveled to the edge of the territory line, where she knew the Cherry blossom sat. The spot where they shared tongues with their ancestors. Her voice almost a whisper, she spoke again. "Maybe we should travel to the Cherry blossom. You and I can speak with Starclan. Confront them together. We aren't getting any younger. I worry for our clan. I have Thornflame to replace me. It will take moons to train a new medicine cat and we only have one queen currently in the nursery." She paused, nudging Brightpool gently. "I don't doubt you, my friend. Ever. But right now, I'm finding myself hesitant in trusting Starclan's choices. Is that wrong of me.?"

Mountainpaw Location: Jumpers tree With: Thornflame(~Skyblaze~ ) Staring up at her mentor with wide sad eyes, the apprentice couldn't help but give a whimper. While he looked at her and spoke to her with a gentleness, she knew how frustrating it must be to him that she was still unable to climb past the third branch of the Jumper's tree. She remembered being a kit and her grandmother, Silverheart, had told everyone that Mountainpaw would be the greatest warrior the clan had seen. Yet, here she was, stuck on something so simple to every other warrior in the clan. How would she be the greatest warrior ever if she couldn't overcome this obstacle.? How disappointed her grandmother would be to know she still couldn't climb. How embarrassed her parents probably felt as they watched her from Starclan.
Her thoughts were broken as Thornflame met her tan eyes with gentle dark green ones. She only saw encouragement when he looked at her and even more so in his worlds. The overwhelming urge to give up was cut short when the deputy suggested they climb together. She gave a quick nod, before letting out the breath she had been holding. "Okay, Thornflame. We can try it together." After a moment of staring up at the tree, the white and silver molly stood on her hind legs, resting her front paws against the trunk of the tree. Giving a sigh, she flattened her ears tightly against her head and launched herself up the trunk. Claws gripped the bark as she moved her way to the first branch.
Once settled on the first branch, she took a deep breath and looked up at the branches that flowed up and around her. "You can do this, Mountainpaw. Just don't look down. Keep your eyes ahead." Without waiting a moment longer, the apprentice clawed her way up to first the second branch, then the third branch. Pausing, she could feel her paws trembling as she gripped the branch where she crouched. Her head started to turn down to see if her mentor was following. Voice shaking, she gave a little cry. Adderpaw Location: In camp. With: Cinderpaw(~Skyblaze~ ) The moment Cinderpaw roused from her sleep, she immediately was a bushy tailed ball of excitement and chatter. One of the things Adderpaw found himself to enjoy the most about his denmate and friend. He opened his mouth multiple times to answer her, but would quickly shut it when she'd continue on. Glowing amber eyes watched the russet molly as she pranced around him in the empty den. They were the last of the apprentices to leave their nests.
After what seemed like only a heartbeat, Cinderpaw was urging him out of the den with her, ready to go about the day. Getting to his paws, slowly, the light brown tabby stretched his legs out before padding after the molly. He brushed against her side gently, purring loudly. "I'm sure there's something good on the fresh-kill pile." He glanced around at the clearing, seeing the gathering apprentices. All were enjoying a piece of fresh-kill. He couldn't see any of the mentors at the moment and wondered where all the warriors were. Even Mothstar didn't seem to be in her den, a faint scent of her leaving the camp told him she had left early that morning. "I'm sure your mentor will have something fun planned for you."
Slipping past his friend, he hurried over to the freshkill pile, ignoring the other apprentices besides a quick wave of his tail. Digging through the small pile, he sniffed around until he caught sight of a vole and a mouse. Grabbing both, he dragged them towards Cinderpaw with a happy gleam in his eyes. Dropping the vole at her paws, he puffed out his chest happily. "Look what I found. It's a bit stale, but I know you wanted a vole. We'd better eat. I'm sure our mentors will be searching for us soon."

They'd never talked about it, just moving about their lives after Thistlehaze and Smokedrift had become apprentices. They were good parents in her eyes, but always craved the freedom of a warrior more than the confinement of being parents. She had struggled especially with being trapped in the nursery for so long.
Yet the moment the big tom started purring as loud as the thunder on a stormy night, she sunk with relief and joy. Large tearful dark green eyes gazed at the smoky black tom as he rubbed his cheek all along hers. The joy that rolled off him seemed to fill her with the greatest warmth and her purr joined in with his, almost vibrating the tree branch that they settled on. 'Sweets' The word was so full of love, something Kitewing had called her since they were younger. She despised it before she'd fallen in love with him. Now, it was something that warmed her ears each time it touched them.
Watching him as he stepped back and puffed out his chest, his mane bustling around his neck as he gazed at her flank. A nose touched her flank and she couldn't help but give a giggle. The thought of little kits tumbling around their paws, suddenly seemed exciting and fun. Her paws itched to be in the nursery, which shocked her more than anyone could ever know. "They'll be so lovely. I can't wait to meet them. For them to be tangling around our paws and demanding you to show them everything about being a warrior. And oh. The mischief they will try to get into." Her eyes glimmered as she went on and tangled her tail with his. After a moment, she bumped her shoulder with his. "Come on, you big lump. Our apprentices are probably antsy at this point to get moving. And Primrosepaw deserves all my attention before I have to leave her. She'll be disappointed to need a new mentor."

Nightpaw Location: In camp With: Batpaw(little blu โฅ ) Nightpaw purred with her chest puffed out at her brothers words. When he praised her, it made her hop again, eyes glowing happily. Settling down beside the little black tom, she gave his a gentle nudge, a soft murmur escaping her maw. She could almost read his thoughts, being well aware that he struggled with the same skills that she seemed to excel at. "Don't worry, Batpaw. You'll get it. You'll be as good as any other warrior in this clan. Even the best warriors struggle sometimes." She gave a little rumble, "I was at the jumpers tree yesterday, and Mountainpaw couldn't even get past the third branch. She's been struggling with climbing for three moons!"
She cut her murmurs off as the brown shape of Russetpaw padded up to them. She had just dropped a squirrel as big as the one she'd caught on the fresh-kill pile. Giving an dip of her head in greeting, she spoke cheerfully. "Good morning, Russetpaw. I see you had a successful hunt as well!" She pointed to her squirrel before nudging it towards the older apprentice with one paw. "Would you like to share with us before we have to go out training again.?"
As Russetpaw asked about her brother Adderpaw, the excited squeal of her sister exploded from the apprentices den. A burst of laughter escaped her as she watched the close pair slip out of the apprentices den together. Adderpaw slipped right past the group with only a simple flick of his tail in greeting. He snatched up some prey and carried it back towards Cinderpaw. With a shake of her head, she turned her attention back to Russetpaw. "I think I overheard Thistlehaze, Emberdrift and Shadowmask talk about taking Cinderpaw, Batpaw and myself to teach us group battle skills. They say the three of us should learn to work together to defeat multiple enemies or larger enemies."

Wolfkit Location: Medicine cats den With: Hawkkit(~Skyblaze~ ) & Mousekit(little blu โฅ ) Blue eyes glittered as he looked back at Hawkkit and Mousekit. His sister took a big bite of the juniper berries that were scattered across the floor before moving closer to him to lap up some of the poppy seeds. He gave a purr as he tried some of the seeds before turning to watch as Hawkkit nibbled on some leaves. Despite his hesitation, he knew his brother must be as curious as his siblings. "Come on Hawkkit. Lighten up! What's the worst that could happen.?"
The squeal of his sister filled the den as she hurried toward the gooey golden liquid in a crevice. "Honey! I remember when Brightpool brought that to us when we had swore throats." He licked his chops as his sister sat down heavily. Worry sparked in his eyes, but he was quickly distracted by a few berries that were hidden in a crevice beside the honey. Three very bright red berries seemed to be shoved back into the shadows. Dipping his paw in, the little brown and cream tom rolled the berries out into the open. They had an olive shape with a darker red center. "Whoa. What are these?"
Without a second thought, the little tom took a big bite of the berry, licking his lips as he chewed slowly. He'd only chewed part-way when he felt he body starting to convulse as the juice of the berry drained down his throat. A choking noise escaped his maw and his eyes widened. "H..el...p" The words choaked out of him as foam started edging the little toms lips as he felt his legs crumpling beneath him. Something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong. Yet he couldn't spit out the berry that was half chewed in his maw. His teeth clamped shut and his eyes started to roll into the back of his head as his body convulsed. The world seemed to fade in and out around him. His vision blurring as he tried to control his body.

Willow | Twoleg's Peak | Echo, Flower (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Jasper (ryssa)______________________________________________________The sound of her mother's awakening had been lost on Willow, and she didn't notice the tortoiseshell she-cat approach until she'd padded up behind Echo. Her ears twitched curiously as she listened to her mother's stories, eyes widening in shock at the realization that her mother knew all about the cats that Echo's dreams had spoken of. She'd always suspected that their mother may have known more than she'd let on, but she hadn't expected it to be to this extent. And the way she spoke of their father...it was a way she'd never heard before in her young life. And it also told her everything she needed to know. She wasn't particularly captivated by the idea of her father like Echo was, nor did she resent him like Jasper seemed to. Yet, something about Flower's tone had clued the young tortoiseshell into a very important fact. "He never left, did he?" She mewed, ice-blue eyes storming as she looked up at her mother. Of the three of them, she was the one who had seemingly inherited their father's gaze, and now it seemed to be penetrating right through their mother at this seeming breach of trust. "He was probably never here to begin with. You know so much about him, and how his....'Clan'....lives, but if he was as loyal as you say they are, he wouldn't have just left us here." Her mew rose in pitch at the sudden isolating thought that had struck her. "Does...does he even know we're his?" She asked, mew barely a whisper. as hot fury crept into her voice, and hurt and fear battled in her gaze. ~ Thornflame | Jumper's Tree | Mountainpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )___________________________________________________ Thornflame watched carefully as Mountainpaw scaled the trunk yet again, lithe white and silver fur quite resembling a fish as she streamed up the bark. She seemed fairly confident as she made it to the first branch, which was a good sign, but as she made her way higher, he could see that she had begun to tremble. He was already at the second branch when she looked down at him, the fear apparent in her tan eyes. He cleared the jump to the third branch easily thanks to his longer legs and practiced leap, settling down beside her. "Don't look down." He mewed encouragingly, wrapping his long ginger tail around her shoulders to steady her. "Just look at me. I'm like a boulder, right? Big, solid, and unmoving. I'm definitely not going to fall. And if I'm not, you won't either." The thought of a boulder up on a tree was a silly one, but anything to help fix her attention on something sturdy, and from the light swaying of the branch below them. "Why don't we try the fourth branch?" He coaxed, turning his gaze upwards. "It's not too far. I'll go first so you can see, then you can come to me, okay?" He mewed. ~ Russetpaw | Camp | Nightpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Batpaw (little blu โฅ )___________________________________________________________ Russetpaw bent down to give the squirrel a sniff, giving Nightpaw an impressed purr. "Did you catch this yourself, Nightpaw? Not bad! You just started learning to hunt a few sunrises ago, right? You're learning quickly." She praised, settling down beside the siblings and taking a bite of the offered squirrel, before pushing it back towards Nightpaw. As she did so, she saw Adderpaw finally emerging from the apprentice's den with Cinderpaw, and passing by to the fresh-kill pile without a word. "Spare a word for your sister, why don't you?" She called out jokingly as he went by her, before turning her attention back to the conversation. "Thistlehaze is coming?" She commented, ears pricking with interest, though there was no reason why Nightpaw's mentor wouldn't attend her own training. Though Russetpaw's interests didn't exactly lie in training. "Maybe I should see if Firebelly will let me come too..." She murmured, then fluffed her pelt out self-consciously. "N-Never mind, I was going to ask Adderpaw about training after all!" She quickly insisted before busying herself in the squirrel, pelt warm. ~ Cinderpaw | Camp | Adderpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )________________________________________ As Cinderpaw stepped out into the clearing, she spotted her siblings sharing prey with Adderpaw's own littermate, and she waved her tail brightly in greeting. "Hey Nightpaw, Batpaw!" She called out. "Hunting went well?" It must have, if Nightpaw looked this happy. Cinderpaw knew her sister well. Adderpaw soon returned with fresh-kill, and Cinderpaw quickly turned her attention to her friend, and to the food. She could catch up with her sister during training. "Vole!" She cheered, giving it an excited sniff with little care that it was a bit older. As she dug into the prey, tail still waving excitedly, she asked, "Wha' you got planned to'ay?", voice muffled as it was full of vole. She swallowed, then followed more clearly with "Nightpaw, Batpaw, and me will be training together. It should be fun!" Cinderpaw always enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her littermates. "I wonder if Shadowmask will show me how to swipe on my hindlegs." She speculated, miming a jab at the remains of the vole before quickly finishing the rest of her meal. ~ Falconwing | Hiker's Path | Goldpaw (little blu โฅ )____________________________________________ "Good job. You're sharp this morning." Falconwing praised with a low purr, sweeping his brown and white tail along the younger cat's flank. "I don't think Moonlily will say no to some fresh-kill, so...let's see what you can do." He invited, tail flicking in the direction of the squirrel. With little cover on the path, squirrel hunting would be more difficult than usual, and Falconwing wanted to see how Goldpaw would tackle the challenge. It would also be a good opportunity for his apprentice to stay sharp on his tracking skills, which Falconwing was particularly impressed by. As they spoke, he heard skittering movement in the leaves ahead of them, and sure enough, a small pointed brown head surfaced from the leaf-litter, snuffling in the undergrowth. It was closer than they'd thought, and had grown fat in its search for more seeds and nuts. It would make a good meal. Silently, he inclined his head towards the small creature, prompting Goldpaw to give it a go. ~ Leopardsong | Camp | Sablewish (little blu โฅ )_________________________________________ Leopardsong shook his head slightly in amusement at Cinderpaw. "StarClan knows she feels the need to announce her every waking movement to the Clan." He mused wonderingly. "I just hope her antics quiet down now that she's training, especially considering what had happened with the storm." That had been a dreadful evening until they'd been found, and Mothstar and Thornflame had been furious. It was a miracle that their apprenticeship hadn't been delayed. Cinderpaw in particular, with her hyper adventurous nature and penchant for mischief, remained an ever-present worry in Leopardsong's mind. Nightpaw and Batpaw had mellowed significantly since their kithood days, but Cinderpaw remained as spirited as ever. His mate's comment on Adderpaw definitely brought a disgruntled grunt to the protective father. "Adderpaw should be focusing on his own training, and not on a she-cat who's just started her own." He meowed grumpily. He was well aware of the affections that Adderpaw harbored for his daughter. His own pride didn't allow him to admit that there was any tom in the Clan good enough for her, or that he believed could keep up with her. That and her tendency to wander into rouble made for a bad combination. Nightpaw I trust, he'd always say, but with Cinderpaw I'll probably be sleeping with one eye open even when she gets her warrior name. ~Creekpaw | Camp | Primrosepaw (little blu โฅ )_____________________________________Creekpaw was calming down now, and Primrosepaw's words served to soothe the bitter sting of frustration. What her littermate was saying made sense. Surely enough, a single pigeon wouldn't decide the entire assessment. "You're right." She replied with a small sigh. "I shouldn't let one pigeon ruin everything for me. Thanks, Primrosepaw." She'd found herself growing more and more high-strung as their training had progressed. They were the oldest apprentices in the den now after Shellfrost's ceremony just a moon ago, and their own warrior assessments were steadily creeping up on them. Creekpaw wanted desperately to prove herself, and in the process of it often drove herself crazy with her own insecurities. She took a deep breath as the hairs on the back of her neck lay flat, and though most of the anger had melted from her leaf-green gaze, she still looked a little miffed at herself. Nevertheless, she still caught the awkward way her sister had sat back down, and her ears pricked in concern. "Is everything okay? That looked a little off." She mused, gently nosing Primrosepaw's flank. She'd been so wrapped up in her frustration that she hadn't noticed it when she'd initially walked over, but now it was clear to see that something was up with her sister. ~ Hawkkit | Medicine Den | Mousekit (little blu โฅ ), Wolfkit (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )_______________________________________________________________ Hawkkit winced at how eagerly Mousekit had lapped up the tiny seeds. Something told him that such a large amount was no good for them, and even from the few nibbles of the tansy he'd taken, he knew that any more definitely wouldn't be a great idea. "This stuff is medicine, Wolfkit, not fresh-kill!" He insisted as he followed his littermates deeper into the den, though the thought of honey made his mouth water as they pressed forward. Even he couldn't resist honey, and sure enough, there was a large store of the golden liquid at the back of the den. He leaned forward and lapped up several mouthfuls happily, savoring how it seemed to melt apart in his mouth. He'd been so engrossed in the treat that he hadn't noticed Wolfkit's initial distress, but as he stepped back from the honey, it was clear something was wrong. "W-Wolfkit...?" He stammered shakily, watching his brother a few moments longer. Then, Wolfkit collapsed, and Hawkkit's fur bristled in shock. "No, Wolfkit!" He yowled, rushing closer to nose his brother. The small kit's body was limp and unmoving. Eyes wide in fear, he turned to Mousekit. "Get help!" He yowled to his sister. "Brightpool, Mothstar, anyone! GO!"
There was no time to wait. Even if help was on the way, Hawkkit had the numb feeling that if he didn't do something now, Wolfkit wouldn't last until Mousekit brought Brightpool. Frantically, Hawkkit looked around the den. He was definitely no medicine cat, but there had to be something, anything, here that could help Wolfkit. Then, his blue gaze caught sight of the yarrow he'd seen earlier beside the tansy. He'd only seen it used once before, when Brightpool had given it to Splashpaw to help her throw up a mouse bone that had gotten stuck in her throat. If anything would get those berries out of Wolfkit, it would probably be this. He picked up a few leaves and hurried to his brother's side. The leaves looked sharp, and Hawkkit's gaze was doubtful. He didn't have the knowledge that chewing the leaves would make them easier to swallow, so this was no doubt going to be painful. With one small brown paw, he carefully pried open Wolfkit's maw, and the best he could, stuffed as much of the leaves as he could down Wolfkit's throat. "Come on, Wolfkit. Swallow! You have to!" He urged, fur bristling in fear. He didn't know if this was going to work. But Hawkkit had to try. He couldn't let him die.

Jasper watched as his mother approached the trio, tail-tip flicking as his eyes narrowed in thought. He had seen the disappointment on Echo's face when he and Willow had not been abundantly excited to leave home. It hurt to see that light dim in her amber eyes, but the tom couldn't lie to her. The idea of going off on some adventure, living in the wild... it sounded fun, in theory, but they couldn't make such life-changing decisions so quickly. At least the bengal tom couldn't. His sister's dreams were important to her, and Jasper didn't want to put them down... he just hoped Echo could understand that it was different for cats who didn't experience a nightly visit. When she moved to sit beside him, he pressed his flank against hers in a show of support and comfort.
Avidly listening to Flower's words, the dark russet tom tried to hold his tongue. His jaw clenched, claws digging into the plush carpet beneath his paws when she compared him to his father. The bitterness he felt turned his mouth sour. Leopardsong. The name was strange and brought nothing but hurt to Jasper. And EagleClan sounded interesting enough but then, he'd always wondered what lay beyond the garden. Before he could get a word in, Willow blew up. Her anger and pain bled into her words, staring at their mother with an intensity he hadn't yet seen from his sister. "Will-" he started but paused as her accusations settled in. Had his mother really kept their existence from their father? His heart skipped a beat in his chest, and he tried to crush the tiny flare of hope. It didn't matter if he knew of them or not. He hadn't been there when Jasper had needed him and maybe that was selfish but the gaping hole his father had left in his life held only pain.
"Is it true?" his throat felt thick, the lump heavy in his throat. He peered at his mother searchingly, desperate for her answer. Echo's whispered excitement and pointed look distraced him. Sea blue eyes stared blankly at his sister. So, she'd had a few dreams about this clan... he and Willow hadn't had them. Maybe the destiny was for Echo alone. He was a confusing mix of emotions, terrified of losing his sister, angry with his mother, uncomfortable over the secrets she kept, and just plain hurting. "We have a life here..." his words where a rasp, head drooping as the pressure built in both his skull and chest, "Maybe you belong out there but Willow and I... we don't dream like you do, Echo. I don't... I don't understand." Her friend's questions weren't unexpected. A sigh of defeat escaped the old molly, sneaking a peak at the sky above. "No. Not a word or vision. Just the reiteratoin that I can't take an apprentice yet," Brightpool huffed. Their ancestors were always a bit difficult to deal with - talking in riddles and being as vague as they could - but she'd never felt this frustrated. The bottom line was that the marbled molly needed an apprentice. The clan couldn't survive without a medicine cat and already she felt slower, and more run down than she had in moons.
"That's not a bad idea... Plus, the newest apprentices haven't traveled to the Cherry Blossoms yet," she mewed, her mind drifting to Nightpaw and her siblings. Every apprentice had to make the trip at least once before becoming warriors. And maybe if some apprentices were there, one might stand out to StarClan. Mothstar brought Brightpool out of her musings, concern in those yellow-blue eyes. "Oh, my dear friend. There is nothing wrong with questioning our ancestors. We aren't puppets, we have our own minds," she purred, a small smile touching her graying muzzle. "Faith is a wonderful thing to have and I'm not telling you to rally against StarClan, but some questioning, some concern? That's healthy," Brightpool encouraged, repeating - almost verbatim - the advice Skyripple had given her during her apprenticeship. Kitewing swiped his tongue gently over his mate's flank, already trying to picture the little bundles of fluff growing there. He silently prayed for their health, knowing that this would likely be their last litter. "I promise not to try and name one of them Sleepykit this time," he joked, pulling back to flash her a smile while rare mischief sparkled in his gaze. He vividly remembered the dawn after his kits' birth. Smokedrift was nursing hungrily but Thistlehaze... their son was passed out in a milk coma, sleeping like the dead. Not even Sweetcloud's gentle nudges had woken him. When Kitewing proposed they name him Sleepykit, the tom had barely avoided having his ears cuffed. Even Brightwing had taken a break from trying to corral Thornkit and Firekit to scold him.
"Mischief? Sweets, our kits are gonna be angels, just like you," he purred, nuzzling her cheek gently. Kitewing, the son of a former kittypet, had listened to his mother's stories of angels. Benevolent spirits who guard and guide them from above - a lot like StarClan. The light Sweetcloud brought into his world had always reminded him of those tales. At the mention of their apprentices, the smoke tom dipped his head in agreement. "I took Creekpaw out right before this, but she missed a pigeon. I should probably go make sure she isn't beating herself up about it," he admitted with a sigh. The young molly was diligent and worked hard but she put so much pressure on herself. Kitewing couldn't help worrying about her. Her drive for protection wasn't exactly healthy.
With a soft nudge to his mate, he began the long trek back to camp. "I'm not too sure about that. Cinderpaw has an unquenchable thirst for life and all its adventures," the black molly laughed, her eyes soft as she watched her daughter leave the apprentice den. Sablewish secretly admired her kin's gumption and boisturous personality. She had never been so hyper or vibrant in her youth, too shy to burst out of her shell. Even as a warrior, the she-cat had a quiet nature. The mother often took the time to thank StarClan that both of her daughters faced none of the timid, insecurity she did at their age. Batpaw though... Her yellow gaze flickered to the skinny frame of her son. She could sense his discomfort from across the camp. "I'm worried about him..." she said under her breath, almost to herself.
Leopardsong's protective words brought her back to their present conversation. She couldn't fight a mrrow of laughter, resting her head lightly on his shoulder while he picked into the vole. "Easy there, Papa Bear," she soothed playfully, a warm contentment spreading through her chest. She'd never pictured this future for herself - a mate and kits. Sablewish had always believed her love for Leopardsong was unrequited. She thanked StarClan every day for all four of them. "They're still young, with their whole lives ahead of them," her purr was almost as soft as the light in her eyes. The flame-point molly could tell when her reassurances began to settle Creekpaw's ire. Her sister's shoulders fell and the fur along her spine began to smooth out. A smile spread across Primrosepaw's muzzle, her blue eyes warm. "No need to thank me. I'm in your corner, Creekpaw, always," she promised. The quiet that settled between the two sisters was companiable and familiar. There was no urge to fill the silence with inane chatter or awkward small talk. Just siblings enjoying one another's presence. Even if the ginger and cream molly felt like her head was going to explode.
Creekpaw's concern caught Primrosepaw off guard. She clearly hadn't been hiding her illness as well as she'd hoped. Smiling despite the aches and pains, she tried to put some enthusiasm into her voice, "Oh, I'm fine! Just trying to wake up still, no worries!" The molly didn't have the most experience with lies - honesty being one of her core values. It pained her to lie, the nausea in her stomach rising a bit. Prim just didn't want to worry her sister or anyone else for anything. Plus, it's not like she had time to be sick! Becoming a warrior was her dream and she had to work hard to achieve it. The thought of training had her peering around the camp, curiously. "Do you want to do some training? I can't wait for Sweetcloud anymore," the molly muttered, peering at Creekpaw curiously. Falconwing's praise felt like rays of the sun, warm and uplifting. His mentor was a male figure in his life, a tom he looked up to. Goldpaw perked his ears at the mention of Moonlily, a cheeky smirk on his muzzle. He enjoyed teasing the older tom about his devotion to his mate. The tom was young and couldn't really imagine a love like the two shared. It was silly to him that Falconwing was so wrapped around the she-cat's paw. Yet, their relationship often reminded him of his parents. Barkleap and Sunflower had been two peas in a pod. The memories of them hurt and he shook his head slightly. "I'm sure she would," he chuckled, his bi colored gaze flashing.
The lack of cover was a conundrum. He could now spot the chubby squirrel just a few tail-lengths away. The pale gold striped tom lowered into a practiced hunter's crouch, careful to place his paws on the wooden trail and not any of the foliage. The noise would instantly give him away. His maw was slightly open to better draw in scents, and he was careful of the breeze. They were downwind from the rodent, giving Goldpaw a slight advantage. He stopped a few paces away, his hindlegs tensing as he prepared to leap. The squirrel turned its head in his direction, stiffening as it prepared to bolt.
The apprentice didn't give it a chance. He launched himself at the prey before the creature had taken two steps. He landed squarely on the smaller creature, but it was desperate, and he almost lost his grip on the sleek fur. Eventually he subdued and killed the squirrel, stepping back with a quick prayer of thanks. "It almost got away," he admitted, turning to glance at Falconwing. His sister's enthusiasm normally made him feel better but today his failures weighed heavy on his mind. What apprentice couldn't even hold a proper hunter's crouch? "Mountainpaw works hard though... she'll get it," he spoke quietly, thinking of the older molly. Climbing may be important to the clan but hunting and fighting were essential.
Batpaw sat back on his haunches, letting the two mollies chat about the squirrel and training. That wasn't exactly his favorite topic right now and he felt awkward. He had to silently agree with Russetpaw though, Nightpaw was a talented hunter already. A pang of jealousy hit him, which he swiftly disregarded. He wanted both of his sisters to succeed in life. Even if that meant leaving him behind, drowning in their dust. Mousekit was distracted by the sore feeling in her stomach and the fuzzy, almost weightless feeling of her limbs. The world kind of wobbled in her view before she heard the thump. Her blue eyes landed squarely on Wolfkit as a terrible stiffness came over her brother and foam started bubbling at his lips. Terror unlike anything the kitten had ever felt before squeezed at her heart. "W-Wolfkit!" she screamed, trying to run towards him but her stomach jolted, and she nearly fell over.
Hawkkit's orders slammed against her ears, and she turned around on unstable paws. Running from the medicine den, she cried out for the medicine cat. "Brightpool! Mothstar! MAMA!" she shouted, before falling and getting a mouth full of dust. Mousekit heaved and sobbed, trying to get back to her paws. She heard paws thundering away and prayed someone would save Wolfkit. The brown and white warrior had been tucking into a songbird before Mousekit came bursting out of the medicine den as if her tail was on fire. Jerking upright, the molly took a few steps toward the she-kit. Brightpool and Mothstar were both out of camp but Fallowstream had seen them curled up together at Scout's Lookout. She felt torn between wanting to help the tiny siamese feline and going to fetch Brightpool. In a split second she decided that the medicine cat was more important.
Fallowstream couldn't remember the last time she'd run so fast, her paws eating up the cave floor as she leaped out onto the stone crevice. Small droplets of water collected on her coat while she ran beside the waterfall. The tree came into view quickly and the warrior skidded to a halt. "Brightpool, come quick! The kits!" she cried. The elderly molly stumbled to her paws, concern flashing in her amber eyes. The warrior turned to follow the marbled she-cat, falling into step with her mother.

ใโโโโ-ยซยซ EchoLocation: Twoleg's PeakWith: Flower(Myself) & Willow(~Skyblaze~ ) & Jasper(little blu โฅ ) For a moment, Echo leaned into her mother, eyes glowing. But the light quickly died from her eyes when her siblings reactions were far off from happy. Willow surprised her the most, the way her icy-blue eyes seemed to slice through their mother with an anger Echo had never seen before. A mixture of betrayal, hurt and fury seemed to tangle within her sisters voice and gaze, as she confronted Flower about the three kits father. She opened her maw to speak, to stick up for her mother, when Jasper spoke up. He looked almost lost and confused to her, staring at their mother as if begging her to explain. But it was his words towards her, that really pierced her heart.
Would her siblings truly let her go alone.? And could she really leave her entire family behind.? Once again, she opened her maw to speak, it nothing left it. She simply stood, eyes wide and shocked, looking to her siblings and then to her mother. Finally, after a moment of thought, she made the decision. โNot all cats have dreams. Not all clan cats. I donโt care what happened in the past. I have to follow what my dreams are telling me. Iโm leaving, and if you all donโt choose to come with me, then I guess Iโm going alone.โ
Even saying the words with determination in her voice, anxiety crept up in Echoโs chest. What if she couldnโt find what she was looking for.? And what if she ran into trouble.? ใโโโโ-ยซยซ Flower Location: Twoleg nestWith: Willow(~Skyblaze~ ) & Jasper(little blu โฅ ) & Echo(Myself) Flowerโs purr as Echo leaned against her was quickly cut short as Willow seemed to turn on her. She took a step back as her daughters blazing ice-blue eyes burned into her. Eyes that were all too haunting. They had the same burning anger and hurt that Leopardsong had before walking away from her all those moons ago. How achingly familiar they were to her, and how she wished she could go back. Yet, Jasperโs meow cut through her thoughts before the older Molly could answer Willow. Not only asking her for answers, but confronting Echo as well. Within heartbeats, three sets of eyes were on her. One ice-blue. One sea-blue and one set of green eyes that had a slash of amber in them.
For a moment, the house-cat just stared at her children, letting their words soak in. Willow in her anger, Jasper In his confusion, and Echo determined she was leaving them. After a moment and a couple deep breaths, Flower sat down, gazing amongst the three with sad amber eyes. โNo. Leopardsong does not know you three exist. He never gave me the chance to tell him. I met with him, as soon as I knew I was expecting kits. I had intentions of telling him. He had intentions of time joining Eagleclan.โ She paused for a moment, eyes narrowing. When she did speak, her voice was frustrated, โWhen I told him I didnโt want to join the clan, He was angry. He left and never came back. I returned to our meeting spot a few times before you three were born, hoping to see him. But, it never happened.โ
Silence filled the room for a moment, and then she gazed lovingly at Echo. โYou have a lot of spirit. Youโve always been special. However, you can no go there alone. If anything, if you feel you must go, I will take you. But I wonโt be able to stay with you.โ ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ MothstarLocation: Scout's lookout/CampWith: Brightpool(little blu โฅ ), Kits The pair sat in silence for a moment longer. She took in Brightpoolโs words, looking out over the territory. How peaceful it all looked. How much she loved her territory and clan. She had never expected her life with go by so fast. She had lost her mate and now had many kits to grow and expand her clan. She would have Kin in Eagleclan even way after she was gone. โWell, my friend, I think weโve done a very good job over the seasons. We have done our clan well. And I know whoever takes our place, will do well. You will be a great meโฆโ
Her sentence was cut short as Fallowstream burst out of cover, calling to them. The kits. Something was wrong. Sharing a glance with Brightpool, Mothstar hurried after Brightpool, keeping in step with her daughter. While her older body kept her from being as fast as she use to be, Mothstar still moved quickly, diving around pushes and over any branches or rocks in her path. โBrightpool. Quickly.โ She huffed to her friend, as they neared the camp. She could hear the panicked screeches of Moonlily the closer they got.
Bursting into the camp, the large brown and white tabby Molly heard hers and her clan mates pawsteps echoing around the cave walls, sounding like thunder as they rushed towards the medicine cats den. Moonlily was crouched over a tiny Mousekit. The little white and creamy kit couldnโt even hold herself up. Pushing past the pair, she shoved her way into the medicine cats cave, eyes struggling to adjust to the darkness.
Inside, herbs were scattered everywhere. From Poppyseeds, to leaves that Mothstar couldnโt name. But her eyes locked on Hawkkit, standing over his brothers limp body, shoving something down his throat. Beside them lay a berry that the leader knew immediately as a deathberry. โBrightpool! Quickly! Itโs Wolfkit!โ Pulling Hawkkits little creamy white and brown body away from his brother, she spoke with a urgent and gentle sternness to the kit, blocking his view from his brother. โHawkkit. What did you three eat.? What did your sister eat.? Quickly. Show me.โ ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ MountainpawLocation: Jumpers tree With: Thornflame(~Skyblaze~ ) While her eyes were round with fear, Mountainpaw could feel her paws gaining control and her quivering begin to slow. She took in a deep breath as her mentorโs tail wrapped around her and her gaze met his. She gave a quick nod to acknowledge what he was saying, before she watched him jump to the next branch. The way he timed his jump and seemed so sure of himself, made The smaller Molly watch the deputy in awe.
With a deep breath and a moment to time her jump, Mountainpaw stared at the branch above her, eyes glued to the spot next to Thornflame. With a huge push of her legs, she cleared the gap and landed on the branch. Claws dig in tightly as the branch quivered below her and she held her breath. As it slowly stilled beneath her, Mountainpaw felt a burst of excitement. โI did it!โ She gave a happy purr, before looking up to the next branch. This one was higher and thinner than the one they were currently in, but still thick enough to support multiple cats. She looked to her mentor for encouragement, before looking along the trunk of the tree. She knew this. She could do this. When they got higher up, they used the trunk to get to the next branch.
Jumping to the trunk, she dug her claws into the bark, carefully clawing her way up to the next branch. Her tail was a big ball of fluffed up fur, her spine fur rising with fear. Yet, the Molly made it to the next branch, edging her way over onto it, before looking down at her mentor, Panting. For a moment, she grew dizzy, as she realized how high up she was. Swaying slightly, she flattened her ears before clinging to the branch and focusing directly on her mentor, shutting out the distance to the forest floor. โCome on, you slow poke.โ She teased her mentor, her teeth clenched as she tried to be brave. ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ AdderpawLocation: In camp. With: Cinderpaw(~Skyblaze~ ) Adderpaw gave his sister a quick wave of his tail in greeting as he passed when she spoke up to him. While he adored his sister, he was a proud little Tom. His family was big. He had many siblings. His mother being the clan leader, made him feel he had so much more to prove to his clan. He focused more on his apprenticeship, than having a closer bond with his sister. Though, Cinderpaw had taken any attention from him that he didnโt spend on training.
Now, as he crouched beside the little russet Molly, he couldnโt help but give a purr of amusement as she spoke with her mouth full. He took a bite of his mouse, making sure to chew and swallow it, before answering. โIโm not sure what Fallowstream has planned for me. But Iโm sure it will be fun. Iโm ready to stretch my legs out.โ No sooner had the brown Tom taken another bite of his mouse when Mousekit came stumbling out of the medicine cat den, meowing for help. The apprentice scrambled to his paws, but was beat by his sister and mentor, Fallowstream. The brown and white warrior hurried from the camp, probably to find the leader and medicine cat. Taking a step towards the kit, Adderpaw was almost knocked off his paws by a creamy white Molly. Moonlily had burst from the nursery and was hurrying towards her kit, frantic and wide-eyed. Pressing against Cinderpaw, Adderpaw flattened his ears slightly at the mothers panicked screeches. It wasnโt too soon after that Mothstar thundered into the camp with Brightpool and Fallowstream. ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ SweetcloudLocation: Back towards camp. With: Kitewing(little blu โฅ ) The journey back was a quiet one. The pair walked side in side, fur brushing. Black fur mixed with gray fur as their tails tangled together lovingly. Dark green eyes sparkled with happiness and love. For a moment, the Molly just walked and thought about the little bundles she carried within her. Then she thought of her current kits, hoping they would love their newest siblings.
The other part of the journey, Sweetcloudโs thoughts clouded with having to tell her apprentice that she wouldnโt be able to finish her training. Sheโd overseen 3 moons of the Mollyโs training so far and would oversee the 4th moon. She would miss the last 2 before the Primrosepaw became a warrior. โI hope Primrosepaw isnโt too upset with me about not finishing her training with her. Sometimes itโs so hard for apprentices to switch mentors throughout their training. I lost mine and it was hard on me.โ The death of Cloudweaver had been quick. Heโd been fighting a dog that had charged her and Brightpool when the pair had been helping the medicine cat collect herbs. The large brute had snapped her mentors neck when he couldnโt move in time. Brightpool and Sweetpaw, at the time, had been forced to climb a tree and wait until Mothstar and a patrol had come along and rescued them. Sheโd mourned the white toms death for moons.
Struggling with her new mentor, who had been Bearsnarl, a crabby warrior with a limp. Heโd injured himself when he was an apprentice, but had proved himself a strong and loyal clan mate. Even skillful in hunting.

ใโโโโ-ยซยซ NightpawLocation: In campWith: Batpaw(little blu โฅ ) & Russetpaw(~Skyblaze~) Nightpaw shrugged lightly as her brother defended Mountainpaw. While she respected the older Apprentice, she cared much more about her brother and his feelings. โWell. If Mountainpaw can learn to climb, then you can learn anything, Batpaw!โ She gave the black tom a giant smothering nuzzle to his cheek before continuing, almost as if she knew his fears of being left behind. โPlus, you know Cinderpaw and I will help you every step of the way. We started our training together and we will finish it together.โ
Once again, Nightpaw seemed to burst at the seams with excitement as she was praised by Russetpaw. She nodded with excitement as Russetpaw asked if it was hers. โYes. Iโve worked hard. By far, hunting is my favorite. Battle training is fun too, but not the same. I feel much more natural with my hunters crouch, then a battle swipe.โ As Russetpaw questioned about Thistlehaze, Nightpaw couldnโt help but give an amused snort. โDonโt tell me you like that big fluff ball.โ While she teased about her mentor, Nightpaw absolutely adored the white Tom. He was a skilled and respected warrior in her eyes.
While she munched into the squirrel with Russetpaw, she nudged her brother, encouraging him to take bites. Surprise flared in the little black bengal Mollyโs light blue eyes when first Mousekit stumbled out of the medicine cats den and then Moonlily burst from the nursery to her kits side. Fallowstream had rushed from the camp to hopefully find Brightpool. While anxiety filled Nightpaw, she stayed crouched beside her den mates, eyes glued on Moonlily and Mousekit. It wasnโt very long after that, that Fallowstream returned with Mothstar and Brightpool. ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ
ใโโโโ-ยซยซ Moonlily & WolfkitLocation: Medicine cats denWith: Hawkkit(~Skyblaze~ ) & Mousekit(little blu โฅ ) While the entire world went black and his limbs seemed to crumble beneath him, at first, Wolfkit could still hear everything. His brother yelling to his sister. Mousekitโs scream as she cried for help. His brother urging him to swallow. For a moment, he felt the sharp pain of something being shoved down his throat. Every inch of his kind screamed at him to swallow, yet his body would not connect with his mind. A slight bit of the leaves worked enough down his throat to make his stomach turn. He gave a heave and threw up the remaining leaves along with flecks of the berries he had ate. Finally, even the noises around him faded as his body quit shuddering. His breathing faint, but noticeable.
- - - -Sleep had not come easy to Moonlily since the birth of her kits. She found herself restless and anxious for a majority of her days. So when she finally did fall asleep, she slept heavy. It wasnโt the movement of her kits that woke her, but the screech of Mousekit that brought her scrambling to her paws. The mother frantically looked around the nursery before bursting from the den. She almost toppled over Adderpaw and Cinderpaw as her eyes spotted Mousekit, crumpled to the ground.
Rushing up to her daughter, she tucked a gray paw under her and lifted her up, licking her face worriedly. โMousekit. What happened.? Where are your brothers.? What did you do?!โ The questions exploded from her, panic clear in her voice. She let out worried cries, desperate to find her other two kits, but not wanting to leave Mousekit. Slight relief filled her at the sight of Brightpool and Mothstar. Both brushing past her into the medicine cats den. Once again, Worry filled her and she picked her daughter up, shoving after the pair.
At the sight of Hawkkit being hustled away by Mothstar and Brightpool hunched over a limp Wolfkit, The Queen started to stumble forward, her daughter thumping against her chest. Setting the little she-kit down, she peered around the medicine cat, eyes wide and frightened. โI..Is he..Dead.?โ

Hawkkit | Medicine Den | Mousekit, Brightpool (little blu โฅ ), Wolfkit, Moonlily, Mothstar (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )__________________________________________________________________________________________ The moment he saw Wolfkit's stomach convulse, he knew it had worked. His little knees felt wobbly as a huge rush of relief washed over him when he saw his brother eject the remnants of the yarrow and the tiny red flecks that had caused all this. It had worked. Surely now, his brother would be okay. He tottered sideways as the the rush of the incident left him and he was left drained. He was vaguely aware of Mousekit's cries, and as he heard Mothstar and Brightpool burst into the den, his tiny tail practically wagged in relief. His mother arrived soon after, but he had no time to think of that as Mothstar swept him to the side and began to question him about what had happened. Hawkkit looked between Mothstar and Brightpool with wide blue eyes. The entire den was engulfed in bedlam, and between his sister's sobbing and his mother's frantic questions, Hawkkit was beginning to get overwhelmed. He'd managed to hold it together this long, and now he was battling through the haze to get the right information to his Clan Leader and medicine cat. Ears flattened against his head as he scrunched his eyes closed, trying to focus. This wasn't the time to panic. They were relying on him to be accurate, to get Wolfkit the help he needed. He took a deep breath and began slowly. At first his mew was unsteady, but became more sure as he spoke. "W-Wolfkit and Mousekit wanted to explore. I told them not to. I said it was medicine, but..." He broke off, shaking his head. That wasn't important now. "Wolfkit spilled some..." What had their name been? He struggled with his memory. That was right. "poppy seeds. He spilled some poppy seeds and other berries. Mousekit had one of those. The little red one." He then raised his head quickly. "Not the one that Wolfkit had!" He quickly added. "The other one..." His face scrunched in consternation as he pulled another name from his memory. "Ju...niper, I think. And she had some of the poppy seeds as well. That's when Mousekit found the honey. I had some honey." Guilt brushed over his pelt, knowing that he shouldn't have, but the guilt was mingled with relief that he'd indulged in possibly the only harmless substance in the den. And it was that forethought that had kept him well enough to save his brother. "That was when Wolfkit found...those berries." He continued with a shudder, pointing a paw at the ominous, tiny red berries. "He ate one, and...something went wrong. I told Mousekit to get help, but I thought if I didn't do something, it could be really bad for Wolfkit." And now he had arrived at his final actions. "I remembered that Brightpool had used yarrow to make Splashpaw sick. I thought if I did the same thing, Wolfkit would spit out the bad berries..." He gestured with his tail at the mess of damp yarrow scraps and flecks of red beside Wolfkit's maw. "And he did. He spit them out, then he stopped moving. And...that's everything..." He finished, head sinking to rest on his paws as he felt a weariness creep in. Then, his head rose once more. "Will...will Wolfkit be okay?" He asked anxiously. He had to know that he'd done the right thing. That his brother would recover. ~ Willow | Twoleg's Peak | Echo, Flower (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Jasper (little blu โฅ )_________________________________________________________________ Finally, she had an answer. All this time, she'd thought that her father had simply left them because he had a different life. Now, she knew that he'd never had the option to choose. He'd never known, from the beginning. The anger in her eyes hardened into bitterness and raw pain. "He should have known..." She mewed quietly, and then in a softer mew, "We should have known..." Her eyes closed, and it was clear the young she-cat was thinking deeply. She didn't open them even as her mother spoke to them, but when she finally did, the anger was gone. It was clear that her emotions were still battling behind her gaze, but outwardly, it was neutral. She got to her paws, and padded over to Echo. "It sounds like we can't talk you out of this." She meowed slowly. "And mind you, I still think it's a harebrained idea," she added, "but I think you're right. I can't stay here any more." Their entire home seemed like a lie now - and for the first time, she truly felt like a stranger. This wasn't where she was meant to be. She didn't know where that was, but she knew for sure that it wasn't here. "I'm coming with you." She decided. "I'm not letting you run headfirst into a fox without me there." She added, a hint of amusement twinkling in her gaze, a sign of the deep bond that ran between the two sisters. "I want to meet our Father, if he's still alive. Maybe my place is with him. If he's not, or if I don't belong there, then I'll keep going...until I find the place I do belong." Her gaze turned now to her mother and brother. Her first words were addressed directly to Flower. "I understand why things happened the way they did." She meowed simply. "But I also can't leave things the way they are. There's another world that's a part of me, and I need to go find it." Then, her gaze turned to her brother, and her ice-blue gaze melted into gentle understanding. "You don't have to leave if you don't want to, Jasp." She mewed. "Echo has her dreams, and I need to make this journey. But if your place is here..." The thought of moving on without her brother was unbearable, but if this was his home, she wouldn't be the one to tear him away from that. "...if your place is here, then you should stay and be happy." She finished. ~ Thornflame | Jumper's Tree | Mountainpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )___________________________________________________ Thornflame watched with bated breath as Mountainpaw watched him from the branch below, tan gaze stretched wide in fear. For a second, he was sure she was going to give up and jump down, but then she did jump - and landed squarely beside him. "Very good!" He praised, purr swelling in pride after taking a moment to steady her with his tail. "That was a great jump." He added. "Keep practicing it just like that and you'll be a great climber in no time!" Though he'd only intended to reach this branch for the day, it seemed that the feat had given Mountainpaw some confidence. Now, the white she-cat was scaling higher up the tree. While Thornflame was glad of the progress, he was also worried that the apprentice may be going too quickly. He knew as well as any cat that with her warrior assessment in just a couple moons, she wanted to master this as quickly as possible, and to show Mothstar that she was just as ready to become an apprentice as Creekpaw and Primrosepaw, who were the same age as her. However, he didn't want her impatience to become her undoing. "Be careful!" He called up as she climbed up to the next branch. Though her words were light and teasing, the perceptive deputy could see just how scared she really was. He easily cleared the gap between the branches in a leap, landing right beside her, the impact causing the branch to shudder slightly. "Why don't we take a break?" He suggested mildly, turning to look at her. If she really was ready to do this, he didn't want to dissuade her, but at the same time, he didn't want her to be taking any risks she wasn't ready for. ~ Russetpaw | Camp | Nightpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ ), Batpaw (little blu โฅ )___________________________________________________________ Russetpaw took note of Bapaw's reluctance in the topic, and felt a pang of sympathy for her younger denmate. It wasn't much of a secret how the young tom's training had been going thus far, and she could tell it was upsetting him. She was just about to give him some encouraging words when Nightpaw beat him to it. She had to admit, she was impressed by the young black she-cat and how she always took the initiative. She had the makings of a great warrior, and she couldn't help but wonder with a prickle of discomfort if Thistlehaze was noticing the same of his apprentice. Unfortunately for her, just as the thought slipped her mind, Nightpaw immediately closed in on the topic. "I-I do not!" Russetpaw immediately protested in vain, acutely self-conscious that her newest denmate had picked up on her interest in the young warrior so quickly. Thankfully, she was spared of further embarrassment with the appearance of Mousekit, clearly distraught. She'd been just about to go approach the kit when Mothstar and Brightpool appeared, with Moonlily soon attending to the kit soon after. "Whatever's going on, I'm sure they would tell us if they needed our help." She mewed contemplatively, vaguely relieved to know that whatever was happening, cats far more qualified than her were here to take care of it. ~ Cinderpaw | Camp | Adderpaw (โฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ฑโ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ขโฅ )_______________________________________ After finishing up the last of her share of the vole, Cinderpaw had just been about to reply when a commotion broke out in the camp. Clearly, something was going on in the medicine den with the kits. She narrowly dodged Moonlily as the terrified queen hared towards the medicine den and scooped up her kit. Cinderpaw exchanged a worried glance with her siblings across the clearing as Mothstar and Brightpool both entered the nursery. "I wonder what's going on...I hope the kits are okay, poor mites..." She murmured. "I wonder if we could help?" She mused, coming up with a very Cinderpaw-esque course of action in the progress. "You could ask Fallowstream what's happening." She suggested. After all, the brown and white warrior was Adderpaw's mentor. Cinderpaw had always been one to stick her nose wherever she could, even when it led to trouble. This time however, her impulsiveness drew from concern. She'd been denmates with those kits just a handful of nights prior, and she was protective of them. If something had happened to them, she wanted to be there any way she could. ~ Falconwing | Hiker's Path | Goldpaw (little blu โฅ )____________________________________________ "Great. That was a difficult catch." Falconwing meowed as he padded up to join his apprentice, whiskers twitching in satisfaction. "It was smart to stay on the trail. Next time, try landing with just your forepaws first. That way, if it tries to get away like that again, you'll have your hindlegs ready to leap again." All in all, it had been a good hunt. There was already a magpie and a shrew buried on the way back, and the sun was beginning to climb higher in the sky. "It's about time we started heading back." He decided. "Smokedrift will be wanting me for that patrol soon, and I'm sure you're probably getting hungry as well. Let's head back and collect the rest of our prey. When we head back, you can take a piece for yourself and then get some rest. You've earned it." He meowed with a purr, giving the younger cat a friendly flick on the ear with his tail before leading the way back towards camp. ~ Leopardsong | Camp | Sablewish (little blu โฅ )_________________________________________ As Leopardsong watched Cinderpaw chatting with Adderpaw, he couldn't help but feel a bit relieved that she had found a friend who was willing to put up with her personality. Of course, anything beyond that he wasn't at all close to being ready to admit. "As long as she's careful." He conceded begrudgingly. "Though 'careful' and 'Cinderpaw' have never often been in the same sentence." He added with a small purr of amusement. As he watched Cinderpaw, he saw Moonlily nearly trample past the two apprentices in her haste to reach the medicine den, and concern pooled in his ice-blue gaze as other cats soon joined her. "Something must have happened with the kits." He murmured, unable to keep the restless concern out of his mew. "Is there anything we can do...?" He ventured. He'd always been protective of kits, and this had only doubled when he'd had his own kits. They had had their own share of scares, and they'd only left the nursery recently. He was still well aware of the fear of his kits being in danger, even though they were now apprentices. He didn't want to imagine what Moonlily's litter had gotten themselves into. ~ Creekpaw | Camp | Primrosepaw (little blu โฅ )_________________________________________ Creekpaw cast an appraising leaf-green gaze on her sister, clearly unconvinced. She knew well enough when Primrosepaw was keeping something to herself, though here she had no inkling as to why. Well, if Primrosepaw didn' want to go into it, she wasn't going to force her. She just hoped that if something was truly bothering her, she would get it looked at. "Alright, but if you're hurt, make sure you go see Brightpool." She finally replied. "Letting an injury get worse isn't good for any cat." Nevertheleless, the thought of training did appeal to her. "Sure, but what can we do around camp? I'm pretty sure Sweetcloud and Kitewing would be pretty pleased if we wandered around outside on our own." Though they were now more experienced apprentices about halfway through their training, they were still expected to get permission before leaving camp. If there was ever a quicker way to getting in trouble it would be sneaking out, and Creekpaw wasn't looking to do anything that could potentially delay that coveted warrior ceremony.

The silence that lingered between the two mollies was not born of discomfort, instead just a companionable knowing that covered them like a blanket of snow. The mottled feline tipped her head in Mothstar's direction when she began to speak, her tone wistful almost. A small smile curled her muzzle before their conversation came to an abrupt halt with the arrival of Fallowstream. The leader's oldest daughter had a wild fear in her eyes, which immediately set the medicine cat's hackles rising. Something was very wrong.
Brightpool barely heard the word 'kits' before she was up on her paws, her joints creaking a protest at the sudden movement. Her heart hammered in her chest as she took off at a dead sprint, pushing herself further than she'd had to in many moons. Her fluffy pelt collected dust and water droplets as she flew through the short distance, not minding her steps. Her friend's words fell on numb ears, but the she-cat could sense the urgency. The roar of the waterfall, mere vibrations in the stone beneath her paws, as she rushed into camp. Amber eyes flashed to Mousekit for a brief moment, alarm causing her heart to skip a beat.
Mothstar's cry finally penetrated the fog that surrounded Brightpool and she rushed past the mother and daughter. She burst into the wide tunnel that made up her den, the familiar scent of herbs unable to soothe her nerves. Her gaze instantly fell on the vibrant - half-eaten - red berry that lay beside a disturbingly still Wolfkit. No. She nearly bowled Hawkkit out of the way, her paw instantly nudging his brother's maw open. There was spit-up yarrow and flecks of deathberry. Hot anger filled her chest, mostly aimed at herself. How could she have left the berries within reach of kittens? "You little mouse-brain," she hissed, carefully clearing what remained of the herbs out of the kitten's mouth. Hawkkit had miraculously done the right thing and there was little more Brightpool could do.
Her whole body shook with relief. You're not going to StarClan yet, not today.
The medicine cat still turned to her stores and sought out the small pile of chamomile seeds, taking a few into her mouth and beginning to chew. She padded back to Wolfkit and carefully placed the poultice on his tongue. Edging his jaw closed, she rubbed a paw down his throat until she felt the kitten swallow weakly. His little body was likely in shock, after the near-death experience and would probably sleep for a long while. "Thanks to Hawkkit's quick thinking, Wolfkit is still alive. I'm going to keep him in here with me for observation," she grumbled, before lifting the kit and settling him into the soft nest beside her own.
"Mousekit is likely feeling the effects of the poppy seeds. She'll need to sleep it off, I want her here with Wolfkit though, in case she begins to have an adverse effect to the juniper berries," Brightpool reported to Moonlily, her gaze landing on the runt of the litter before jumping to Mothstar and Hawkkit. "There will be time for scolding and talk of consequences later. For now, Hawkkit... your brother is very lucky you remembered what herb I used with Splashpaw," the she-cat growled sternly, narrowing her amber eyes. Wolfkit wouldn't have had to be lucky if the kits had stayed out of the medicine den. They were old enough to know not to come in here without her here. The oldest of Moonlily's litter had almost died. This could not be taken lightly.
Brightpool was still furious, her shoulder fur bristling and ears flattened to her skull. Her tail lashed behind her as she tried to calm down - failing when she remembered how feeble Wolfkit's breaths were. The chamomile would help the kitten regain his strength - StarClan willing. Her amber gaze softened the tiniest bit when they landed on the terrified mother. "You're free to stay here with them, Moonlily," she mewed, eyeing Mousekit as the she-kit sniffled a few times before falling into a deep, herb induced sleep. Fallowstream had skidded to a halt outside the entrance to the medicine cat den, relief rushing over her when Moonlily brushed by, Mousekit in her jaws. The kits had to be safe now that Brightpool was there to take care of them. Her breath sawed in and out of her lungs, paws working anxiously against the stone floor. Please StarClan, let them be safe. brown tabby ears twitched at the sound of her name, turning her head to spot the two apprentices. Cinderpaw had been the one to speak and her youngest brother, Adderpaw, sat beside the russet molly. Forcing her fur to lie flat, she padded over to the pair.
"Let's let the medicine cat handle this," she mewed, her tone kind but firm. The she-cat was sure the last thing the group in the medicine den needed was apprentices under paw. "The best thing we can do right now, is keep to our normal schedules and duties." Fallowstream hoped she sounded convincing. It's not that she didn't believe in what she said, but the warrior couldn't deny feeling worried. Pacing a divot in camp wasn't going to help anyone though.
She smiled brightly at her apprentice and his friend, settling into a mask of calm. "Firebelly spoke with me earlier about going on a hunting patrol, I think we'll ask Frostsplash to tag along. Cinderpaw, I'm sure Shadowmask has some training in mind for you as well," Fallowstream said, tilting her head in the direction of the calico warrior that sat a few fox-lengths away, chatting with Dawncrouch and Honeywish. Jasper sat, numb, as he listened to his mother's words. His father truly didn't know they existed. Somehow, that didn't make the tom feel better. He supposed it should, but as his sea-blue eyes fell listlessly to the carpet, all he felt was... sad. Beyond sad. The young cat didn't even have the words or knowledge to express the horrible way he felt inside. And his sisters were leaving. He'd watched the bond between them spark up, the one that held the mollies together like glue. That hurt too. He understood why they felt the need to leave... but could they so easily leave him behind?
The bengal tom was quiet for a long moment, trying to fight back the overwhelming mix of emotions he was feeling. "I..." his voice cracked around the lump in his throat as he swung his gaze between all the precious felines in his life. Clearing his throat, he shrugged, forcing a smile he didn't feel. "Wherever you two go, I go," he mewed finally. Jasper didn't have some noble reason, not like his sisters apparently did, but he couldn't bear the thought of living without them. Maybe that made him weak, it definitely made him feel pathetic. And... sad.
He'd always been an adventurous kit, sneaking out into the garden and getting himself into all sorts of trouble. That familiar tug in his gut was faint but present still. Jasper pushed all his darker emotions down, sealing them away in a tight box. "Someone has to keep you two out of trouble," he joked, knowing full well he was the troublemaker in the family. Fake it till you make it, as they say. If he pretended to be excited and content with this decision, maybe he'd end up truly feeling that way. As he peered at his sisters, he felt a flood of familiar warmth. Echo and Willow meant... everything to him. So, he'd go. To support and protect them to the best of his abilities. The large tom turned his head to peer at Sweetcloud when she broke the silence, his bright eyes full of empathy. He distantly remembered Cloudweaver's death, he'd been a kit at the time. To hear the sorrow in his mate's voice, reminded him of the grief he felt over the loss of his father. Smokeclaw, who their daughter Smokedrift was named after, had been a devoted parent - especially since Kitewing's mother died giving birth to him. Loss wasn't something that ever went away, one just learned to live with it. "I can't imagine," he mewed, running his tail carefully along her spine.
"I think Primrosepaw will understand though, Sweets. It's easy to see that she admires you. It's almost hilarious to watch her light up under your praise. If you're honest with her, I'm sure everything will be fine," the smoke and white tom soothed, nudging her shoulder with his own. His ears perked as he heard the rumble of the waterfall. He could almost scent the damp earth and mossy stones that settled at the bottom of the ravine. Carefully, he began the trek down the side, his tail resting on Sweetcloud's shoulder. Not because she couldn't guide herself down but in a quiet reminder that he was there.
Luckily, there were many well-worn paths down this side of the ravine, made by generations of EagleClan cats. "Just because you're going to have to stop being her mentor, doesn't mean the bond between you two will just vanish," Kitewing mewed, risking a glance back at his fluffy gray love. He wanted to put her worries to rest but knew deep down that Sweetcloud would continue to fret until she actually spoke with Primrosepaw. He just couldn't imagine the flame-point feline having a harsh reaction. She'd always seemed like the more level-headed of the two sisters. The dark furred molly let out a mrrow of laughter, shaking her head at her mate's correct assessment of their boisterous daughter. "That's true," she agreed with a loud purr, shaking her head in faint exasperation, "but she has Nightpaw to help keep her out of trouble." Sablewish let her golden gaze settle on her other daughter, her pride nearly bursting from her chest. As a cat who'd never imagined being a mother, the black furred she-cat was amazed every day by the intelligent, wonderful kits she'd been given. "They're growing up too fast," she whispered, resting her head on Leopardsong's shoulder lightly.
Then Mousekit came bursting out of the medicine cat den, fear in her loud cries. Sablewish, who had just moved out of the nursery a few sunrises before, instantly scrambled to her paws. She felt her heartache as the tiny fluff-ball fell and Fallowstream rushed off - likely to fetch Brightpool and her mother. She took a few hurried steps forward before Moonlily descended on her kit. In a flurry of motion, the warrior watched as her leader and medicine cat returned and ran into the same den Mousekit had just escaped. The mother and daughter pair followed them into the dark opening in the cave wall.
"I-I don't know..." Sablewish whispered, peering up into those frosty green eyes. "They... They're going to be okay, right?" The thought of anything happening to those kits... She'd been in the den when Moonlily gave birth to them, had helped care for them. The molly remembered when they'd taken their first wobbly steps and chasing after all six kits as they got into mischief. Her heart went out to Moonlily. The pale flame-point apprentice relaxed at Creekpaw's easy acceptance of her reply. She knew that her sister likely wasn't convinced by her feeble lie, but Prim would forever be grateful that she didn't push the issue. Especially when Brightpool came bursting into camp and rushing to the medicine den. Hopefully everyone was okay... "It seems like the medicine cat is a little busy at the moment," she murmured, mostly to herself. Giving her short coat a firm shake, the warm hued she-cat turned her attention back to her littermate.
Even as confused and hurt as she felt over Sweetcloud's lack of attention, Primrosepaw couldn't fathom doing anything to upset her mentor. Her shoulders drooped a bit, realizing the truth in Creekpaw's concerns. "Well... we could ask another warrior to take us out... or maybe see if any of the younger 'paws need any help?" the molly offered, light blue eyes sweeping around the camp curiously. She gave a small shrug before giving her tortoiseshell sister a warm smile.
"I don't really care what we do, I just want to spend time with you." No simple headache was going to stop Primrosepaw from spending time with Creekpaw. Their training was so vigorous lately that quality time with her best friend was hard to come by.
Goldpaw with Falconwing Returning to Camp @ ~Skyblaze~ Goldpaw absorbed his mentor's advice with a firm nod of understanding. He'd definitely have to practice landing on his forepaws later. The move sounded easy but likely required a lot of balance for that split second of being held up on two paws. The last thing the pale golden tom wanted was to land flat on his face during a hunt. "Thanks, Falconwing," he mewed, picking up the squirrel. The light breeze tugged at his fur and the apprentice briefly closed his eyes and tilted his head to catch more of the wind. His green-gold eyes flew open at the older tom's statements.
He wanted to argue with Falconwing, only because he'd much rather be going on patrol than sitting around camp. Goldpaw respected the Siamese tom though and simply dipped his head in acknowledgment before falling into step. At least they'd gotten a good hunt in. With Moonlily in the nursery, his mentor often wanted to stick a bit closer to camp lately. Still, Falconwing always made time for him so it's not like the apprentice could complain. He helped the warrior dig up the prey they caught earlier and then padded at his side on the trail back to camp. Goldpaw enjoyed the nice weather as they went, thoughts on possibly getting a chance to share-tongues with Splashpaw. "Right," the tom replied quietly to his sister's enthusiasm. He wasn't too sure he believed Nightpaw's encouraging words, but they managed to lift his spirits, nonetheless. Her returned her nuzzle with a soft brush of his cheek against her shoulder, quietly thanking his bengal sister for her unwavering support. He smiled a bit, listening to his littermate talk about her training. "Battle moves will become easier as we continue to learn," the skinny black apprentice mewed, trying to cheer Nightpaw on as much as she rooted for him.
The hot flush of embarrassment made his ears feel as though they were on fire as his sister teased Russetpaw about Thistlehaze. Unlike Cinderpaw, he hadn't really considered things like crushes or love. Most of the time Batpaw had enough on his plate with training - seeing as he hadn't been very successful. His head tilted at the older apprentice's response, blinking his soft green eyes. Did she... did Russetpaw actually like the blue-eyed warrior? He chose to stay out of this part of the conversation, unsure what to say or how to react.
