Arkady didn’t care if he came off as hot and cold, changing his mind so quickly between staying and leaving. He often made decisions based on how he was feeling and these things changed like the direction of the wind. It seemed he had left the other speechless as he made the trek back to his bag. It was bulky but light and Arkady easily swung it onto his shoulder, kicking the leaves on the ground around it as if trying to cover any trace of him being here. Although he couldn’t make out what Daegal said, Arkady did hear muttering and he narrowed his eyes in the other mans direction. “That better not be an apology.” he growled, fed up with the word sorry. He would probably hurt the next person he heard say that word this week. “One more question, which direction is the nearest town.” Although they were on a mountainside, the trees made it difficult to make anything out below and Arkady wanted to be sure to be out of here before it would ever get dark. He could hold his own against someone like Daegal, but his luck would dwindle against much stronger opponents with bad intentions that lurk at night.

Yay! Congratulations, you finished the semester alive! And your status is quite relatable, I definitely feel like falling apart at the end of each and every semester. ))

Arkady’s gaze followed the direction that Daegal pointed, listening to the description as well of the short-cut. “Thanks, pal.” He tightened the grip on his bag, clenching it around his shoulder as he prepared for the hike down the mountain. He did not expect his short break of feeding a squirrel to end up like this, now it was time to move elsewhere. Shifting his eyes from the path Daegal pointed out, Arkady looked up to the sky, watching the sun to determine how much time he had left with the light. A couple days' travel wasn’t too bad either, thankfully he had been sure to stock up in the previous town to last at least that long.

Although Daegal had been nothing but apprehensive, Arkady approached him and offered his hand to shake. He could be abrasive and rude, but he was not raised by wolves. If anything had been drilled into him throughout his upbringing, it was to have manners; like shaking hands, introducing yourself, and looking people in the eye. Some of his other unfortunate habits had been picked up elsewhere. “Well, Conon, watch your step wherever you’re going. I would’ve hated to be the one to rob you today.” He laughed at his own words and offered a wink at the other man but deep down, his statement was true. Daegal just happened to be lucky enough to find Arkady in a giving mood.
