[ I wish you a speedy recovery Stormrage! Hope everything goes well! <3 ] [ โโะพฯ As for my earlier post, Bydivere is the one talking to Zanh about strategy, and Mokh only speaks in the beginning and he's talking to the Pillars at the end ^^" Also, Bydi is agreeing with her and saying that she made the right decision in moving the forces, he mentions that it'd be a good idea for her to set up an ambush while she does it, and is speaking as if that was her goal all along. He only asked to redo the map so he can see where they were originally! Sorry, it's a block of text and I can't do much editing on my phone, so it probably wasn't clear! ;;; ] [Edit: I saw where I was unclear so I tried to specify a bit more! That's my bad! ]

Isolabella "Thank you for the food, Aras. Iso thinks it's the Selvans that caused the shift in weathers," Kyrra explained. She took a bite of her food before she spoke again. "It would make sense." Kyrra gave a light smile.
The snow had startled Iso, it was true, but she was able to put the pieces together rather quickly. Iso never liked the cold. Winter was her least favourite season. Stretching out the horrendous season would only bring more misery to Isolabella's life.
"I mean, it's kind of obvious," Iso rolled her eyes. "The weather doesn't just start going cold again in the middle of spring."
Iso wasn't sure if she was saying complete nonsense or if her logic actually made sense. She was going with the latter. "Anyways," Kyrra spoke again, flicking back her dark hair. "How's life? Anything interesting going on?" She turned to Aras. Iso grumbled. "I know nothing is going on in my life," Iso muttered. Kyrra shot her an intense glare, her light brown eyes like daggers. (It's very short)

FENRIR Fenrir was silent for a long time, as the camp was swallowed by the horizon behind them. He kept his eyes on the road before him. The silence stretched between them, seemingly hanging on with an ominous air. Fenrir led the precession for a time; his own stallion moved smoothly in a swift walk. It was half a dayโs ride to the next camp โ faster if heโd flown โ so he didnโt set a particularly brutal pace. He was alone in his thoughts, until the silent reverie was broken by movement in his periphery. Kaivaโs horse had moved forward so that she was side-by-side with the prince.
โCare to enlighten me?โ she started, cracking the silent ice of the atmosphere. Fenrir sighed to himself, grieving the loss. He figured sheโd ask where they were going, considering heโd been quite vague when he had ordered her to accompany him, but the next words out of her mouth startled him. โWhy is it that you look so familiar?โ He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, expression pensive. He was quiet for a few moments longer before he responded. โBecause weโve met,โ he told her. โAt the capital โ the palace, actually. In the training grounds. You were there with the first phoenix, Lexar.โ He flicked one wing in a sort of shrug. You were young โ eight, perhaps, or nine years of age. We sparred.โ
He fell silent again, and then spurred his mount forward. The stallion snorted and tossed his head, before sliding into a smooth bounding lope. He wanted to get as far away from Kaiva as he could, at least for a moment. Thinking about how theyโd met stirred up memories tinged with shame and anger and fear. He spoke no more as they continued the journey.
A half-day later, theyโd reached the next camp. The sun had set about an hour before, but the moon was not yet at its highest point. Fenrir swung himself out of the saddle, and then handed the reins of his stallion to a nearby stable-boy. โMake sure heโs ready to travel again soon,โ he told him. The stableboy nodded his head and led the beast away. Fenrir took a moment to breathe, stretching his wings out behind him to ease the tension in the muscles. It wouldโve been faster for him to fly, but he would not have been able to carry Kaiva and the necessary supplies.
He turned to scan the battlefield, studying each tent for a few moments. There it was โ the tent that housed all the phoenixes. He made for that tent, vaguely aware of the fact that Kaiva was trailing behind him. He needed at least one more phoenix on the mission; beyond this camp, the phoenixes grew scarce in number. He knew of one more camp that had at least one phoenix stationed with them. Few, if any, of the phoenixes were stationed near the capital. It was thought that placing their greatest asset โ outside of the dragon-royals, of course โ on the front lines reduced the chances that Selva would manage to lay siege Traeterraโs capital city. He found the nearest alchemist. โWhom do you have stationed here?โ he questioned the man. The alchemist rattled off a few names, and Fenrir took a few seconds to shift through the names in his mind. โTell Bellinor that his prince wishes to speak to him. Immediately.โ
โYes, my lord,โ the alchemist breathed. He rushed off, surprising Fenrir since he did not go into the tent and returned a few moments later. โHe is on his way, Your Grace.โ
โWell met, Traeterran prince!โ a voice called. Fenrir sighed to himself and turned around, meeting the gaze of Bellinor. โAnd you as well, Prodigy,โ the man continued. Fenrir blinked, realizing that Kaiva had followed him.
โPack your things,โ Fenrir told the man. โThe King requests your presence. We leave at dawn.โ

-- Sagremor Morjeune ~*~*~
ย ย The forward camp is trapped in a pervasive wintry aura, its proximity to one of many mage-assisted battlefields putting its soldiers in danger of hypothermia on the worst days. Trailing dutifully after his Phoenix, Sagremor stomps his feet and blows into his mittens as they venture out from the insulation of more closely grouped tents. But for the tightening of his cloak, Bellinor appears largely unaffected. This is likely more due to a disturbing single-mindedness that can block out even physical discomforts than anything. A strong gust causes the man to list to the side, and his gait falters at least twice as he acclimates to a recently resurrected body. The king is otherwise both hearty and hale for someone who had come back from being ash. His secret is that he apparently likes to 'die' as often as possible. This despite Sagremor's many protests; he near constantly has dark circles under his eyes and multiple burns & cuts on his arms as a result.ย
Whatever the prince wants, something tells him that he's sure to acquire more before the week is over. The Ash Collector sighs and watches it mist in front of him, beginning to lag behind Bellinor's distance-eating strides. The madman hasn't even eaten yet- perhaps Sagremor could use this as an excuse... Ah, never mind. The prince turns with a furrow in his brow and Bellinor is unfazed. Sagremor is very fazed, he hurries to pass the warrior and sketches a bow.ย
"H-hello Prince Fenrir. Thank you for your patience-"
Bellinor's greeting is louder, and he neglects due courtesy; as is his wont. The younger man shoots him a concerned look but he's always treated the Traeterran royal family as equals despite working under them. Sagremor has yet to train him out of this.
The dragon prince's response is perfunctory. He doesn't bother with niceties and appears to be tired of the Phoenix already.ย Contrary to popular belief, Bellinor is quite aware of social cues and can read the situation fairly well. He simply doesn't care to respond appropriately.
"Oh?" He tilts his head with his characteristic wild grin, golden gaze flitting back to Kaiva with the understanding that she is included in the summons. How curious! Bellinor makes no secret of his curiosity.
"I can't recall the last time Rolnar had so urgently requested an audience. Haha~! What a pleasant diversion! I wouldn't miss it!"ย
His Ash Collector is free to sigh with relief. Bellinor's voice carries, but at least he hasn't made demands or asked for clarification- then again, he seems to love surprises. Particularly unpleasant ones.ย
Sagremor sucks that sigh right back in when Bellinor continues;
"Will this be an event that requires my Ash Collector?" He bounces lightly on the toes of his boots. "As fond as I am of your father, I am well aware of my true purpose here, haha~!"
Ah, so that's why he agreed to leave the front lines so readily. No one invites Bellinor anywhere for his courtly manners or sparkling conversation. He also isn't technically meant to be here, so either the prince sought him out or specifically chose him out of the few phoenixes assigned to the area. In addition, Fenrir had arrived personally to deliver this short message when he could have sent a messenger and continued on ahead. It would follow that the crown prince's presence was required as well, and there was Kaiva to consider. Both phoenixes were known for battle prowess.ย
Apparently the king has already caught on to this fact; there's a magpie glimmer in his eye at the thought of more exotic challenges.
"Dawn, then? That's rather short notice! I suppose I could spend the night writing letters and sleep on my horse in the morning..." This he mutters to himself, flexing a hand as he mentally rearranges his duties.ย
"I'll ensure that he meets you in time, your highness." Sagremor speaks up, already pulling at the king's arm to guide him away. "Come on," he says more quietly, "I saved you some stew."
The brunet drops in another bow and Bellinor grins over his head. "I look forward to-" He seems about to add something else when Sagremor adds, "we caught a boar."
"Boar?!"ย ~*~*~
ย ย Fully fed and watered, Bellinor sets upon the terribly menial task of delegating to his forces and informing his son of his departure. Sagremor thought it best to leave him out of the loop or risk him following them with a vengeance, but Bell knows how to couch his words to soothe his son's temper. He hums tunelessly as he paints the king's request as a more rudimentary thing, and adds in a challenge for Lyremorak to achieve a certain number of victories in his absence. After a bit more of playing to his ego whilst simultaneously placing caveats that would prevent him from causing more disasters, he signs the letter with love that Lyremorak actively scorns and stretches his arms above his head with a yawn.
"This is why Aglovael does the paperwork."
Bellinor grumbles, neatly folding the pages and sliding another stack before him. The furniture is uncomfortable so he sits on the floor with a trunk in place of a desk, struggling to make his naturally terrible handwriting legible in flickering candlelight.ย
He idly twirls his drying pen, still managing to splatter himself with ink as he marshals his thoughts. Reafa has been an excellent First Spear, but she often butts heads with Declan; a former mercenary who bucks all authority that isn't the Phoenix's. The two of them are sure to make the vanguard division rather divisive. Bellinor also can't leave his battalion under the control of another, as he's trained them a bit too much like the knights of Listeneise and they operate on a different wavelength than most others.ย
Some further deliberation, helped along by the rum that Sagremor had reluctantly brought him, sees him finishing in time for a brief nap before he's back on the road.
Bellinor is exhausted in a distant way; he's been exhausted enough times to become accustomed to a state of lower functioning than is preferable. He practices deep breathing constantly, and deep muscle relaxation when he has time. There are occasional brief, open-eyed naps as well. They have the added benefit of disturbing his Ash Collector upon witnessing them~
Sagremor putters about the camp while Bellinor commandeers a few blankets and makes a bed of the uneven floor. The bulk of his possessions are in his own tent, but the ever-prepared Rem brought the necessities on their horses. They'd need to borrow a few more things from the men of this camp but most are happy to provide for the man who saved their lives. Especially if he's traveling away from them.ย
~*~*~ ย ย The following morning finds the mildly disoriented king hugging his gray Percheron, muttering words to her in his native tongue while she attempts to flatten his feet in a fit of pique. As powerful and hardy as she is, Spoon is rather fond of sleeping and is near inconsolable when disturbed.ย
Sagremor eyes her warily. "I don't think you'll get any sleep on her. She'll buck the moment you begin to nod off."
Bellinor laughs, "That is very likely!"
Once more displaying his flagrant disregard for his own life, the man kisses her on the oddly-shaped marking that earned her the unflattering name.ย
"Good morning your highness!"ย
The brunet says abruptly, bowing and kicking Bellinor in the shin. He is protected by high boots, but likely wouldn't feel it regardless. He turns around at least.
"Fenrir! I see you're eager to be off." The king shifts like an excited child. "As am I! I would like to hear details as we travel~"ย

KAIVA Surprise and glee passed across Kaivaโs face. โThat was you?!โ she balked. In an instant, all of the pieces clicked into place in her mind. Of course she recognized him. He had been much different then, scrawny and baby-faced. But the eyes had hardly changed. She remembered the annoyance in their dark depths when she was pulled off him at the age of eight. Lexarโs laugh echoed in her ears, Easy, Kaiva, he had told her. You never want to hurt royal pride. She should have made the connection earlier. Somehow it had not occurred to her that the grown man before her was the same as that child. Fenrir had spurred his horse forward before she could question him further. She chewed on her bottom lip to disguise her smile. If he had been a normal soldier, she would have teased him endlessly about this revelation. But she could see that it had struck a nerve for the prince and Yelena had told her to be on good behavior. Do not ask him if he wants a rematch, she told herself sternly. No matter how much you might want to. She wondered if she was the only person who had ever beaten him in battle. It was not difficult when he was a boy, but opponents likely went easy on him then. And she suspected now there were few who could stand in his way. As they rode across the tundra, the light in the sky faded. The landscape turned a brilliant electric blue as shadow spread across the snow, only a smudge of orange remaining in the sky. Kaiva, feeling sorry for her horse, warmed her hands and dragged them across his shoulders. Syd and Fenrir were quiet company and she did not push them to engage in conversation. Instead, she amused herself by imagining where they were going and the adventures (and misadventures) they might encounter along the way. Eventually they reached the next camp. Jack followed closely behind Fenrirโs bay, hooves still dancing restlessly as if they had not been riding for most of the afternoon and evening Bellinor was there to greet them. She knew of him more through tales than personal experience, though they had crossed paths a number of times before. The tall warrior was impossible to mistake for another, in part because of his boisterous personality. She was glad to hear he would be joining them on the adventure, if only to provide some colorful companionship. Seeing as she still did not know the purpose of their mission, she supposed Bellinorโs inclusion was a hint that it would involve fighting. No man would tear both herself and the Knight Commander away from their posts unless their skills were necessary elsewhere. She was largely silent as the two men spoke. โPack your things,โ the prince commanded. โThe king requests your presence. We leave at dawn.โThankfully their parting would not be so chilly as that, as the men of the camp invited them to join in a warm meal. Kaiva slid off her horse, needing no more motivation than that. โ----------------------- She was the last to arrive at the stable in the morning. Syd had shaken her awake when the tent was still dark, and only after some stern convincing was she able to pry herself from her slumber. Once Syd left, she dressed quickly before stuffing her nightclothes into her bag. Then she ran her fingers through her hair and tied it into a practical bun at the nape of her neck. By the time she exited her tent, the sky was beginning to lighten on the eastern horizon. Her breath billowed around her head, cold biting her ears and her fingers. When she entered the stables, the horses were already saddled and strapped with the necessary belongings. โShould I have put on my armor?โ she asked, interrupting whatever conversation had been taking place before she arrived. She had not bothered with full battle gear thus far, mostly because it would require the meticulous process of unpacking the metal parts and then buckling them on with her frozen-stiff fingers. Then again, the answer did not matter much. Armor did not prevent her from dying on the battlefield, nor would a lack of it prevent her from rising again a few days later. She was fishing for clues about the motivation of their journey. Jack bobbed his head at the sight of her. She crossed to him, setting about attaching her bag and her sword to his saddle. "Hey Bellinor," she prompted with a mischievous smile. "When we get to the capital, do you think me or Fenrir will win in a sparring match? Place your bets now and I'll hold you to it."

FENRIR With his message relayed, Fenrir spread his wings and launched himself into the sky. He needed to clear his head and shake off the frustration and fury clawing at his chest. He wasnโt particularly sociable in the best of circumstances but spending a day with Kaiva grated against his nerves like nails across glass. He still remembered the day theyโd met like it had been seared across his brain. Remembered the look his father had given him, when Kaiva had managed to defeat him in the spar. The disappointment. The sorrow so strong it choked his breath away. As young as heโd been, heโd wanted nothing more than his fatherโs approval and love. As King, Rolnar didnโt have much time to dedicate to child-rearing. Once Fenrirโs mother had passed, the toddler prince had been handed off to a team of nannies and caretakers. Heโd never truly felt like his father had seen him โ he felt like a shadow drifting through the palace. It only got worse when his siblings were born, because heโd been so determined to keep them from struggling as he had. Heโd become the parental figure to Astarion and Nelmia.
Heโd never really had an identity โ not as a child, and there were times that Fenrir didnโt think he had an identity as an adult. To most, the title of Crown Prince defined him. There was nothing beyond his birthright, and the wings he displayed. Very few people knew the doubts and fears that lurked in his heart.
Fenrir snorted to himself and angled his wings to bring him safely back to the ground. Once back on solid earth, he wandered off to the tent that had been designated as his. It was going to be a long day tomorrow; he blew out the candle and let sleep wash over him. He slept fitfully that night, with dark dreams haunting him at every corner.
--
Fenrir woke well before the sun; while night still clung to the world, he leapt into the sky once more. He flew, leaving his worries behind โ at least for a time โ to shake off his shadowed reverie once again. When the sun began to finally crest the horizon, he returned to his tent and gathered his things, before heading for the stables. He was there before either phoenix, or their ash collectors. Typical. He readied his horse soundlessly, dimly aware that the camp was starting to stir to life.
โGood morning, your highness!โ came a voice, drawing Fenrirโs attention. He half-turned to see Bellinorโs Ash Collector, followed closely by the phoenix himself.
โFenrir!โ Bellinor greeted. Fenrir narrowed his eyes, irritated that the disregard for his title. โI see youโre eager to be off.โ Bellinor shifted on his feet, as though he were too excited to keep from moving. โAs am I! I would like to hear details as we travel.โ
โYou will be disappointed, then,โ the prince replied, turning back to his horse for a moment. โYouโll learn everything you need to once we reach the capital.โ
Fenrirโs mood dropped even further when Kaiva entered the stables at last. โShould I have put on my armor?โ the female asked. Fenrir ignored her, although he clenched his back teeth.
โHey, Bellinor,โ Kaiva continued. โWhen we get to the capital, do you think me or Fenrir will win in a sparring match? Place your bets now and Iโll hold you to it.โ
Thwack! Fenrirโs left wing snapped out and slapped Kaiva across the face, knocking her to the dirt.
โMy apologies,โ the winged prince told her, although his tone made it clear that he wasnโt apologetic at all. โIt seems these wings have a mind of their own some days.โ Satisfaction flashed through his gaze for a moment, before he reached down and yanked her back to her feet. Again, Fenrir helped her into the saddle, and then mounted his own horse. He set a swift pace as the group left the camp. It was a four-day ride to the capital, and Fenrir was eager to get it over with as fast as possible.
--
Four days later, Fenrir released a silent sigh of relief as the great gates of the capital loomed into view. Elegantly crafted, the massive gates took on the appearance of a great pair of draconic wings, with various dragons carved into their surface. Home, at last. He heard the spotters call out to his party, and the gates began to open slowly. The streets of Antaving unfolded before them. โTo the palace,โ he ordered his companions. He spurred his horse into a swift, thundering lope. The city streets flew beneath him.

-- Bellinor Listenoise -- Traeterra
"Oho?" Bellinor leaned against Spoon, grinning. "A secret only to be delivered by the king himself, then? I suppose this is a measure of your trust of us~ You want the aid but believe there is risk of defection or slip along the way. Haha! Oh well~ I suppose that is that!"
(It is not in fact, that. As Bellinor would continue to pester the prince with wild guesses during the remainder of their journey.)
His horse fully tacked, Bellinor was free to find amusement in Fenrir and Kaiva's stilted interactions. He didn't know either particularly well, but he'd heard tell of Kaiva's deeds and history with the first Phoenix. Her fiery personality had already endeared her to him, as she reminds him of a less extreme version of his son. Even now, she entered the stables with a casual mien that completely contradicted the prince's.
Her idle inquiry received no reply from Fenrir, but Sagremor ventures a, "I-" A worried glance toward the dragon in the room- "I don't believe that will be necessary at present." The other Phoenix isn't wearing his, at least. Bellinor's brows arched when Fenrir acted on his thinly veiled aggression by abruptly striking Kaiva in the face in response to her playful challenge. Sagremor gaped and edged behind his taller companion as if the prince would turn on him next.
"Ah, remind me to stay clear of your shadow on the battlefield. We can't have one of those little spasms dropping you from the sky and onto my spear~" The king intoned lightly, watching Fenrir 'apologize' and attempt to help her up, as if she would appreciate it after the blatant display of disrespect. Ah, kids these days. So impulsive.
"In response to your question, Kaiva- I believe you stand a significant chance of winning if you will only be assailed by childish cheap shots. My coin and ale are on you~!" Bellinor grinned at her before swinging up onto his prancing mare. The prince does not look back, and he allows his pace to match as Spoon eagerly kicks off in a flurry of snow.
---
The prince's mood- likely influenced by whatever catastrophic weight he has placed upon his shoulders- does not lighten, but this fails to dim the king's cheer. He drinks spirits like water and creates diversions that he tries his best to draw the others into., even Fenrir. He has a terrible poker face when it comes to cards and cheats by pulling impossible plays in strategy games, so he often conjures up his own on the spot and is generally successful at bullying Sagremor into them.
The Phoenix has likely spent more time sleeping in the wilds than in a bed, so it follows that he is completely in his element during the trip. Bellinor offered up his sleeping roll as a secondary barrier when the earth was damp and elected to sleep in a tree at one point. He played with the horses when his Ash Collector chased him away from 'polite company', and often volunteered his services for cooking duty due to his skill in hunting and foraging.
Sagremor had panicked upon finding him happily chewing leaves thought to be poisonous- but Bellinor saved the more 'exotic' foods for himself and happily taught recipes he'd thrown together whilst traveling to the capital upon his arrival in Traeterra.
It was only a four day trip, but Bellinor packed as much activity into those few days as possible- it is near impossible for him to cease and desist- Chatting with his traveling companions when he wasn't attempting playful spars. The king is undoubtedly a people person; he loves getting to know others either by crossing blades or listening to them speak as little or as much as they wanted. He can't exactly be labeled a 'people watcher' as he speaks his mind far too often, but he can be observant and intuitive when he chooses.
Primarily, he watched Fenrir and Kaiva. The history is obvious, but how it would affect the future remains to be seen. In the meantime, he delighted in making Sagremor jealous by openly favoring the other Phoenix.
---
Bellinor tightens the reins as they enter the capital city proper, Spoon giving an irate whuff at the steadily rising clamor. He marvels openly at the spectacle of it all, distantly missing his own capital and the welcome he would receive when his people first catch sight of him- he liked to sneak into the city and play a hideaway game with willing citizens- Fenrir doesn't waste time and Bellinor is glad for it, he looks forward to the first pivotal moment of their journey. And more wine, hopefully.

>> Mokhnaran Akkeren | โโะพฯ -- Traeterra, Northern Outpost ^^^^^
Bless Bydivere's preternatural ability to multitask.
There are so many layers to the self-aggrandizement, twisted truths, and loaded lies he was subjected to the that Mokhnaran truly struggled to keep track of them all. He had arranged it so that his questions could be answered by each Pillar individually- and how he longed to give them a time limit as well- but the information tended to get jumbled as they made 'clarifications' and 'corrections' when one was found to be disagreeable.
'This is important this is important it's actually important.'
It is information that his strategist could probably weaponize later, especially when it came to determining who would be the biggest threat and how- but it's just so terribly agonizingly boring. How is he to keep track of the troop numbers and commanders' names and the unfair allotment of sausages? What does he care that whatshisface's father fired the first frozen arrow in the skirmish of whatever? He only knows the fun parts of history, so he has no idea if this is even accurate- and his mother kissing a baby in no way makes them eligible for a title!
What are they even talking about?!
Mokhnaran was forced to reiterate the true topic- a very important one, might he add! and tamp down the desperate desire to shoot Bydivere a wide-eyed 'are you catching this?!' glance .
This is probably his fault for not establishing close ties with certain Pillars; they see his surprise visit as a quick way to gain favor as well as oust Zanh from her position. There are a few snide comments and mild complaints that suggest she is too young- or perhaps a little naรฏve, not incompetent! But you see with this predictable string of losses- and so on. The prince leaned back against the table and tried not to let his impending migraine show. Bydi played the least stressful role, working with Zanh's current plans and attempting to nudge them in a certain direction. There is nothing they can do for her hurt pride, however. Mokh could almost feel the frigidity of winter in her measured tone.
She requested an audience as the disorganized meeting came to a close and a flurry of meaningful glances fluttered about the room. Many a gaze connected, including Mokh and Bydi's. Bydivere raised a brow and the prince allowed his eyes to widen a fraction. There shouldn't be any negative connotations to that, but a few Pillars might be aware of the threat of betrothal looming over the crown prince's head. A meeting between leaders isn't normally anything of note, especially when they have to play catch up with each other. Between two 'available' people, however or...They don't expect him to propose right then, surely?
He feels the pressure though, and mentally runs through all possible places they could have a covert discussion that doesn't include visiting each other's rooms...but then, the outpost is technically his, isn't it? He's the prince. He can go wherever he wants and challenge others to bat an eye! Right!
"Of course, my- Lady Zanh~"
Mokhnaran answers smoothly, folding his hands within his cloak and treating her to another pleasant smile.
"Please excuse me, honored Pillars. I look forward to working more closely with you and seeing evidence of your many contributions to Lady Zanh's campaign." Re: surely you have enough money to put where your mouth is~? Bydivere opens the door for them before trailing somewhere to the prince's right. He always hogs the spot if Peliyas isn't there to fight him for it.
"Why don't we reconvene in the Marquis' quarters? They should be higher up and more private." He's sure she has a lot to say-
The prince's spy had already informed them of the more defensible rooms and positions within the keep. They had technically staked the claim ahead of time though serviceable furniture likely wouldn't be available due to their unexpected arrival...
Proving his indispensability, Peliyas jogs up to them whilst still in his traveling clothes. "Your highness!" He skids to a stop, "Your room should be at least decently livable for now, the servants are eager to further accommodate you after your recovery."
Mokhnaran brightens and makes grabby hands. "Eli! I could kiss you~!"
The blond goes red immediately and darts behind a visibly relieved Bydivere. "Don't! I'll have your pillows filled with rocks if you do." The prince makes a move as if to act on his affectionate 'threat' and laughs as Peliyas ducks around to Bydivere's opposite shoulder. Said man gives his fellow Pillar a droll look. "I apologize for the display, Lady Zanh."
"Ah." Mokhnaran catches himself, though he struggles with his slightly too lopsided smile. "About that room-"
--- "I'm not here."
Is the first thing Bydivere says upon entering, going straight to a wobbly desk and studiously putting his thoughts to paper. He mutters to himself as he does, trying to get his brain and already cramped hand to sync up.
Mokhnaran tries his very best to maintain a princely aura as he shakes out a dusty cushion and pokes at charred logs. He offers Zanh the cleaner seat closest to the fire and doesn't sit until she does.
"Please, speak freely."

[ Hey Stardust!! Please, join us! The more the merrier c: In terms of specific roles, nothing particular comes to mind but that's because there's room for anything. Here are the main storylines that have developed:
- The Traeterran alchemists invented a potion that will prevent Phoenixes from burning up every time they use their powers, with some unforeseen side effects (involves Les, Maewen, Norris, and Pelter but there is room for expansion there). They just took the potion and are about to test it.
- The crowned prince Fenrir has decided to embark on a mystery mission (he's going to search for the dragons under the mountains) and he assembled a crew to help him (involves Fenrir, Kaiva, Bellinor, Nelmia, and Rolnar but there's also room for expansion.) They're about to arrive in the capital after leaving the battlefield.
- On the Selvan side, the Pillars led by Lady Zanh decide to rework their battleplans. Meanwhile, Prince Mokh shows up unexpectedly to help. We haven't quite decided where the plot is going there but it's evolving naturally. (Involves Zanh, Mokh, Rekh, and Bydi)
And then there can obviously be totally new storylines. We're mostly letting people split into little groups so that we're not waiting on individuals too much if schedules get busy or whatever. So yeah! If you have any ideas for characters or plots, hit us up. The world's very open for exploration right now but there's room to tag along in the established areas as well c: ]

KAIVA The second stint of the journey was more fun for Kaiva for several reasons. The first was that the addition of Bellinor brightened the mood of the group considerably. The two of them were kindred spirits, despite their differences in age, physical appearance, and background. Cut from the same mischievous and colorful cloth. (Bellinor beat her a number of times at cards, much to her frustration. She lost all of the assorted coins she could scrounge from her bags and even incurred a debt which she promised to pay once they reached the capital). In addition to making a new friend, she also decided (in a surprising turn of events) that she was no longer angry with the prince. Yes, he was rather broody, but his retaliatory shove had gained him a bit of respect. It was no fun when she teased someone and they took it without complaint. She continued to get under his skin whenever possible, unable to help herself, but she did it without fire behind the eyes. The last reason that the journey was becoming enjoyable was that she realized she was not truly being punished. Fenrir showed no indication that she was to be thrown into the dungeons when they reached the palace (Even though she was pushing it). Plus there was no mention of latrine duty. It appeared she had escaped Heronโs wrath unscathed. Perhaps she truly had luck on her side. They camped a few nights on the road, sleeping in their private tents and then packing up before the sun lightened the sky. The air grew gradually warmer as they traveled away from the reaches of the Selvan magic. On the last day of their ride, Kaiva spotted green and gold in the hills. She was reminded that it was not yet truly fall, and the wintery cold they had experienced was nothing more than sorcery. The landscape that opened up to them was familiar to her. They were not far from where she was raised, and she could taste salt in the air as they grew close to Antaving. --------------------- It was impossible to see the great city without feeling a surge of awe in oneโs heart. She had been there before a number of times, but it seemed grander now that she had grown used to canvas tents and crumbling ruins. It stretched along the coast like a sunning cat, the harbors its curling tail along the coastline. In the center of the city, she could see the towers of the palace. The streets were bustling and bright, though even the capital city had been changed by the war. There was distrust behind peopleโs eyes as they watched the small party pass on their horses. Banners flapped in the strong ocean winds, the kingโs sigil everywhere the eye looked. Kaiva caught the eye of a little girl who had stopped and pointed up at them. Clearly the child had been excited to see a woman among the band of men. She smiled before the child disappeared behind the narrow streets of the inner city. Their swift pace drew them to the palace gates and then into the courtyard where they were greeted by many men. One helped Kaiva down from her horse, and before she could protest, he was led out of sight by a stablehand, her bags with him. She supposed they would return her belongings to her eventually (no one would have any use for her well-worn and unwashed clothes). The king arrived without much fanfare. One moment she looked up and he was walking toward them from the palace doors, red wings unmistakable. He looked as she remembered him, though grayer and a bit thinner. Still, he needed no assistance in walking down the steps and approaching the group. โMy son, you have returned,โ Rolnar announced, arms outstretched. โHow are things on the frontlines?โ The question was delivered as though he expected no answer, as his eyes had already turned to the rest of Fenrirโs entourage. โBellinor, welcome, friend. You are a fellow king here, though I know you prefer the role of warrior. And is that Lexarโs protege?โ Kaiva bowed politely and then tipped back her head in greeting. โI can see there is a young woman under there under the dirt and grime.โ He grabbed her chin, inspecting her face. His eyes were not as kind as she remembered, and her instinct was to recoil as his thumb tracked the line of her jaw. โYou are the image of your late mother,โ he said. Then his hand dropped. โCome! All of you, there is much to discuss and knowing my son, he will be anxious to get back on the road.โ
