The shift in Robinflight's demeanor did not go unnoticed by the SkyClan tom. He despised the satisfaction she appeared to not be reveling in at his suggestion of a vote, it felt as though she were laughing in his face; the pleasure to her tone caused him to imagine that she already thought herself a sure victor. He whipped his head as she strode past him, an inkling of a frustrated snarl curling his features in a way unbefitting of his usually cool and collected countenance. He willed, now more than ever, to wake from this wretched dream and find himself curled beside his brother in the SkyClan warriors den. This, however, was a fruitless fantasy. It was difficult for the tom to pinpoint why exactly the ginger molly infuriated him in a way that no other cat did... well... her constant need to undermine me or her desire to be disagreeable would just about do it. He thought with a quiet, snarky huff.
Wordlessly, he followed Robinflight's path back to the makeshift camp, ensuring he was a few paces behind her to avoid unnecessary chatter. His ears swiveled towards the sounds of murmurings and light laughter, signalling their arrival, and then he found himself relenting, a small smile replacing his previously furrowed and stern features. Pushing through a fern plant that tugged at his pelt, he explored the clearing with his green eyes. The cats, once strangers, splayed throughout the glade in a manner that now indicated they were no longer strangers. Hootpaw and Lilypaw, two apprentices from different clans, now rested beside each other. Even Sunblaze, an often disagreeable tom, resolved to now reluctantly grooming burs from Bristlefrost's long tortoiseshell pelt. Ashwhisker's attentions were pulled back to the pressing matter at hand when Robinflight turned to address him. He looked up at her from below the rocky outcrop she now sat upon, his eyes clouding with thought as he considered her query.
It was selfish... however, Ashwhisker wished to wait not a heartbeat longer than necessary to know who would be the victor of this particular battle of pride. Bunching his muscles he sprang upwards to join Robinflight on her perch and he looked at her briefly. "Let's settle this matter now. Then, in the morning, we can make haste to our new home."
Shifting himself to face towards the small collection of cats, he raised his chin and cleared his throat, obviously seeking the attention of the clan cats below.
"Cats of, er, the clans!" The stammer caused him to shuffle his paws sheepishly, his coat rising uncomfortably in temperature. He swiftly continued, "It has been brought to the attention of Robinflight and myself that this new territory hosts an abundance of possible camps. We, well, we wanted to ask you all what you might prefer." He sat back and slowly turned his gaze upwards, inspiring those below him to do the same. "I am of the opinion that the rocky slopes would make a fine place for a camp. There will be plenty of shelter between the rocky crevices from dangers that we are not yet acquainted with. The nearby stream runs with full confidence so there shouldn't ever be a lack of fresh water, and there would be much prey." He paused a moment to let the wondrous gazes of the clan cats consider the option before he turned and nodded to Robinflight, allowing her to make her claim.

A glimmer of amusement danced across the silver tabbies gaze as she watched Rookpelt shake water from his pelt. The toms thick pelt stuck out in this way and that gave him a resemblance to a porcupine in a manner that she found to be endearing, especially given his benevolent nature. "Thank you, Rookpelt." She meowed softly to his comment about her catch before she bent down and grasped it in her jaws. His next comment was one she heartily agreed with, represented by her short sigh. She had no care nor concern for the matters of Ashwhisker and Robinflight's endless quarrels, she merely wanted this perilous adventure to be concluded.
It seemed their arrival back into camp was timed perfectly. The moment they emerged into the clans temporary dwelling, Ashwhisker's voice sounded from atop a rocky overhang. She paused beside Mistyfall and Rookpelt, bending her neck to place her catch at her paws, and she looked from her tabby grey clanmate to the black SkyClan tom with confused eyes.
Listening to Ashwhisker's speech, she felt uncertainty rise in her chest and her paws shiftly uneasily on the leaf-littered ground. At the lake, she had been much accustomed to flat and consistent terrain, the water was freeflowing and gentle; making fish easy to catch. The sloped and rocky terrain that Ashwhisker suggested was... not to her liking.

Hello friend - I hope you’re well!
Just wanted to pop on to say 1.) I so appreciate how patient and understanding you are <3 and 2.) I’ve been going through a bit of a tough time getting into the swing of things in my new city, so I’m taking a camping trip for a few days in the hops that I’ll return fresh! Not that it REALLY makes all that much of a difference because I’ve been so AWOL anyway, but wanted to let you know that I’ll be off the grid for a few days.
My hope is that I’ll be back and ready to get settled in and get back to this - I really do think about it every day! I just need to take this time to find the words and really get back to it. I’ll catch up with you after we get back and can’t wait to get back at it <3
