When Waspman (secret identity Carlos Collins) goes to college, he decides to keep the whole superhero thing a secret. It was one thing back home, where he was a kid, and over the years people had generally caught on that his powers were virtually useless (except the handful of people who remained convinced he could fly and just didn't do it when anyone was looking, of course). Now, as a college student, he needs to put some distance between his personal life and his superheroing life, and hopefully focus on his studies and all that.
He's not done with superheroing, of course. He just wears a mask now. (Superhero tradition dictates that it doesn't matter how much of your face a mask actually covers, so feel free to picture the wimpiest, most ineffective "mask" you can imagine.)
Carlos isn't expecting to meet another superhero his age at college.
But, boy, does his roommate act suspicious.
He has an alliterative name (the first alliterative name the generator produced was Trent Trudeau), he gets mysterious phone calls at all hours of the day (and night), he idolizes famous superheroes like Tegmina and the Machingbird, and any time Carlos is out superheroing, Trent's either out at the same time or leaving when Carlos gets back.
Then there's Trent's apparent refusal to wear outfits that aren't primarily black and orange. Oh, sure, wear your pumpkin-and-bat Halloween shirts and your Cincinnati Bengals gear and your Nike graphic football tees (that just so happen to have orange lettering on black fabric) and your (questionably fashionable) orange shorts and your sneakers with orange shoelaces. That doesn't scream "theme" at all.
Is it any surprise Waspman soon encounters a fellow superhero called Tiger Eye? (Of course they team up, as superheroes do. And go to lunch together on occasion. But it isn't time yet for the big reveal, by either party. Maybe someday Carlos will show up in normal clothes, instead of his costume, but that day hasn't come yet.)
Let's not forget, of course, Trent's suspicion of Carlos. They both know the tropes. Just out for a walk, Trent! Just going to that party, Carlos!
And then one late evening...the Mind Control Shenanigans (oh, probably should have mentioned that, there's a mind-control-using supervillain running around, wild how these things slip the mind!) come to a head, and Carlos is caught at a party, his mask...DANGEROUSLY ASKEW! And who should be there, facing down a mind-controlled (temporary) foe, at that very party, but Trent Trudeau himself!
"I knew it!" shouts Trent. "You're a superhero!"
"I knew it!" shouts Carlos. "You're a--"
Tiger Eye arrives on the scene.
Trent isn't a superhero. He's merely...a partygoer.

Last night I dreamed I was Spider-Man, fighting a monster to save Aunt May* and possibly NYC as a whole. Then the fight ended, and I went to visit family I hadn’t seen in years. I knocked on the door and it swung slightly open. My (nonexistent) little cousin, now 16, who I used to babysit, greeted me. My aunt was not home, but my uncle was. He demanded to know what I was doing there and what kind of emergency this was. I explained that I just wanted to visit and say hello, and I hadn’t had time to call beforehand. He let his dog inside. It was the cartoon dog from the newspaper comic Hi and Lois. Their next door neighbor was adidas boy, but he wasn’t in. I vaguely remembered having met him many years before, but I’d never caught his name.
*I know nothing about Spider-Man, but I think Aunt May might actually be his aunt.
The night before last, I dreamed I was on a school trip. I think it was supposed to be with my high school class, but the only specific person there was Peatfeather (from college). Anyway, it was time to load up the buses. For some reason they wanted to send one person from my bus over to the other bus. There were four of us who hadn’t boarded the bus yet, and they asked which one of us was the most evil. The other three people (including Peatfeather) all nominated me because I’m a Scorpio. Unfortunately, the other bus drove away right before I could get in. There was no room for me on the bus I was originally on (somehow), so everyone (...magically including the people who’d already gone on the first bus) had to wait for more buses to come pick us up. Everyone got off the buses and waited. My original bus driver kindly gave me a ride to what was either a bank or an auto parts store. I asked if he would drive me back, and he said no, he had to continue on his route. I swore loudly at him and began to cry. He drove away. I knew something didn’t add up about the situation, so I timeskipped to being back at the park (which sounds much more like a lucid dream than this actually was; I didn’t know I was dreaming or had control, it was more like I forced a scene change by being out of ideas).

I love when I remember my dreams
tonight while I was walking* I met a guy walking two huskies, one of which was a puppy! so cute
*I’ve been walking about an hour and a half playing Pokémon go every night (the time it takes to reach a particular gym and come back, after you factor in stopping to fight other gyms and if there are lots of Pokémon to catch)

Waspman (Carlos Collins), Slipstream (Claire Carlson), Zephfyre (Valerie Faust), and Tiger Eye (Kennie Frost) It is probably not too hard to guess which webcomic I looked at for reference while sketching this.

Do it for meme purposes. And I have no clue which comic was used as a ref. @.@ Wish I took walks. I brought Comics & Manga...over 9000 honestly I'm kind of embarrassed to share this, even just the title, but I will; it's called El Goonish Shive (I probably wouldn't have read too far past the beginning if I'd just stumbled across it, but I had some idea where it was going because I found it on TV Tropes) LISTEN it's good I've been reading it since 2013 I like to start my walks around sunset, though that's bad advice--I'm like a vampire, won't go into sunlight

Hey, I'm not judging. I read all sorts of things. I know that some things can start out embarrassing and then turn better as you go, or a thousand other things. Heh. I just stay up ridiculously late.

random math time
long story short I need to memorize this so I'm sharing it here
Bayes' Theorem: P(A|B) = P(B|A)P(A) / P(B) = P(B|A)P(A) / (P(B|A)P(A) + P(B|a)P(a))
|

Pssst. Hollyfrost. This is important: Bayes' Theorem: P(A| = P(B|A)P(A) / P( = P(B|A)P(A) / (P(B|A)P(A) + P(B|a)P(a))
