oh man it is after midnight I did not notice that

I know I had a title in my head but I’ve since forgotten it and I don’t know if I ever wrote it down

back in the early days of IAVS, there were no sets of 500–at the very beginning they were all on the first post, but I hit character limit somewhere around 150 comics

I think I was around 700 comics when I first began giving them titles; my mom and a few friends were pushing me to attempt to publish (an idea which I ultimately rejected because...it’s weird, to me, to monetize something like this)

the titles were originally for different books of compiled comics—that’s why the first IAVS is just called IAVS

I believe I originally only had I Am Very Strangeness and Baby Frogs For Everyone; 102% Besties was the third title I came up with, though I knew I wanted “book” 3 to be a Fishfeather quote

I Am Very Strangeness is a quote from Ashtail late at night
front cover was the cover you see currently (which I do hope to replace at some point)
back cover was Fishfeather, Ebonyclaw, and Adderbite searching through papers

Baby Frogs For Everyone is a quote from Shadeddream discussing the idea of...okay...background: in 5th grade Jasperstripe threw a rubber frog onto the ceiling, and it is still there; Shadeddream was discussing the idea of throwing more rubber frogs up there and allowing them to breed, then harvesting and distributing baby rubber frogs
front cover was Shadeddream saying this quote to me while I looked comically doubtful
back cover was Adderbite bothering Killdeerfrost and Stonefrost as they gathered papers from the floor (? I think)

You Will Be Thoven is a quote from Fishfeather, obviously coming from Beethoven but also becoming her version of “thieved”—this title was decided at the last minute
front cover was...never drawn because the title wasn’t decided back then
back cover was Adderbite and Leafstream chasing Jayflight with papers

102% Besties is a quote from Adderbite meaning “best friends” who are actually a couple
front cover was Adderbite telling me this seriously while I smiled
back cover was Adderbite cowering under papers while Brackenclaw and Owlclaw stood nearby

now we sort of have a change because I didn’t really plan ahead with the next titles!

the first four titles were ones that I could have made into comics instead but chose not to (in the case of 102% Besties I would have included more words from a sentence from an instance of her saying the phrase)

Recyclable Onions is a quote from Ruestep as part of a conversation after Kanchilheart(?) accidentally put onions in the recycling
there was no front cover because by this point I had long since rejected the publishing idea
but there was a back cover: Adderbite throwing papers into the air and onto irritated Jaggedtuft and Emeraldheart
RO was chosen to be a title because I did not remember enough of the conversation to make a whole comic

My Name Is ... Wheels is actually something I wrote in a rough draft of a paper—I was quoting a largish block of text and put “my name is [...] wheels” (I hope those brackets don’t trick this site into thinking I’m trying to code...) and Adderbite thought it was hilarious
of course that would not translate well into a comic
another phrase I considered using instead was “eels The both” but the capitalization is part of the joke so I did not use it because it would have become Eels The Both

Wet Pope Heel is an anagram of “we the people” from my anagram phase because Spiderfang showed up to an event wearing a shirt that said “we the people” repeatedly

maybe I’ll just use another anagram if I haven’t thought of a better title in time

edit: for RO I also considered “Slapping Turtles” but decided against it because it sounds like a conversation about going up and hitting a turtle, but really it was someone mispronouncing “snapping turtles”
