Alright, I've seen the dune movie three times now and enough is enough. Someone do something dune inspired with me? I'm kinda thinking it could focus on the bene gesserit and maybe a few royal families that are made up but inspired by the actual series. I haven't read all of the books. In fact, I've only read most of the first one. So I'm by no means a dune expert and the rp itself would be more ~inspired by~ rather than a direct copy. So there will still be room for world building and plotting? And joiners wouldn't need to come in with prior knowledge.

Anyone interested?

That's totally fair! I'm in a similar boat because I haven't finished the first book and I'm a little more inspired by the movie. I especially like the bene gesserit and think it would be interesting if part of the plot was more focused on them. Do you think Arrakis should be the setting or should it be on another planet that we come up with? Or both?

To make it more accessible to people who are completely unfamiliar with dune, I might try to combine aspects of dune with unrelated points of inspiration. That way it can kinda be its own thing but anyone who does know dune can use it as much as they like. But I was thinking maybe the bene gesserit (we can call them something else in the rp) are helping an elite force of warriors?

For the warriors, I'm playing the game Hades right now and I'm kinda interested in the idea of the ability to essentially respawn when one dies in battle. So maybe these warriors cannot die from physical wounds, and they can heal back from death. This doesn't mean they're immortal because they can still age and such, but it might be fun to explore that wrinkle?
