I wouldn't think to pick up some random ass mouse that crawled across my hand in the middle of the night. Whenever there was a mouse in my house, I called for my sister to come deal with it.

Idk maybe i'm desensetized from having to pull the fourth squirrel out of my walls and throw it back outside.

nah mice are terrifying if you don't expect them. I think its some weird ingrained instinct but a mouse ran over my foot once and I am NOT scared of mice but that literally almost made me scream lol
also yeah mouse bites are very ouch

I will take a mouse crawling over me in my sleep over the time my boyfriend's roommate's ball python got loose and crawled over us in our sleep any day.

I can definitely sympathize! Several years ago before we fixed the drafts in the house and owned cats who hunt, we had lots of rat and mouse problems. I got woken up at 1 am once by a rat in my bed nibbling my finger. 😢 (It didn't hurt me, it seemed more curious than anything I guess — my gerbil used to do the same thing.) Another time I woke up in the night feeling something scampering across my blankets and sat up in bed so fast that the rat was flung onto the floor! I'd also frequently see mice run across my floor in the evenings too, and multiple times they got into food I kept in my room, until I started keeping it in my dresser drawers.
I'm so glad we don't live like that anymore. It can't have been sanitary, and rabies is always a concern with wild mammals. I'm thankful for my cats who chase mice back into their holes! I haven't seen a rat indoors in a couple years either.
