Oh man, here we go. Obvious awful names that basically everyone hates: - Twigbranch
- Fidgetflake literally makes me think of dandruff, so ew
- Sneezecloud is awful
- Any name that references a character's disability or injury - One-eye (and White-eye before it got changed), Halftail, Lostface, Deadfoot, Crookedjaw, etc.
- Foxheart. Cedarstar basically named her "bitch". Is it fitting for the character? Yes. Is it a good name? Absolutely not.
- Loudbelly
- Heavystep
- Turtlecrawl
Other ones that I just don't like: - Ashheart - I hate the double "h" there. Characters with a double "e" between the parts of their name get a hyphen, so why not this one??
- Birchbark - I love alliterative names, but I'm not a fan of the alliteration plus the "r" after the vowel in each syllable. I just don't like the sound of it.
- Blue Whisker - specifically because she is a yellow and white cat
- Clawwhistle - I know this is a WarriorClan name and I try to be more forgiving for those characters, but my god that double "w"
- Dawnbright - bright shouldn't be a suffix
- Emberkit (DotC) - not because I dislike the Ember prefix, but because Wind Runner decided to change up the typical names with one kit who ended up dying and then we never hear about this again and we still don't know how the name thing became prominent in the Clans. And on top of that, nobody questions why Wind Runner put "kit" in Emberkit's name as if he wouldn't grow up some day?? This just irritates me and remembering Emberkit makes me remember how DotC failed us in that aspect
- Featherstorm - "feather" as a prefix and "storm" as a suffix just sound so opposite, I hate it
- Flowerstem - this one is similar to Twigbranch for me tbh
- Fuzzypelt
- Gravelnose - it makes me think of a cat that has litter stuck on its nose
- Meadowslip - It makes no sense to me?
- Names like Sunnypelt, Mossyfoot, Muddyclaw, etc. Why make it "Sunny" instead of just "Sun"?

Kitescratch's name feels like a disappointment, I've always loved the kite prefix and to add scratch at the end of it is just so jarring
Kitewing, Kitecall, Kitefeather, Kitesong, there was so much potential!

Surprising to hear so many people agree that Fidgetflake is weird. I remember commenting something like that back when the name first appeared (as part of an example of how bad new names are getting) and people getting really defensive, calling it “cute”

Back in the day (pre-OOTS), I decided the cat living on our porch needed a Warriors name, so to include my husband I asked him to pick a book off of my shelf (I believe he picked Twilight), then pick a name, and that's what we'd call her. He intentionally sought out the "stupidest" name he could find, which to him was Squirrelflight. He did later admit that he hadn't seen Ferncloud, or he would've chosen that.

That cat later became one of the indoor cats, and it frustrates me to no end that I can't type her full name on one line of her ID tag, so it looks like she's "Squirrel Flight" (resulting in all vets and stuff calling her "Squirrel")
