Whether I'm gaming, reading a book, heck even reading an article online, I must always be listening to something meanwhile, particularly music or a YouTube video. I find that performing any activity without one of these two things included in it (music or a video in the background) I find to be unsettling - not in a creepy sort of way, but more of in a, "I don't like silence" kind of way, unless if the game in question already has music playing in the background and not just ambient sounds. I honestly don't like this trait about me because any situation that involves me trying to concentrate and become immersed - whether reading a book series like Warriors or playing a usually relaxing game like Skyrim - something just feels off without some other source of sound, especially familiar sound (I typically listen to the same couple dozen tracks over and over)... I can't put my finger on it, my brain just doesn't like it. XD
Is anyone else like this?

I can't sleep in total silence. My preferred way to sleep is with a box fan on, and the tv on loud enough to hear that they are talking on it, but not loud enough to necessarily make out what they are saying. I can't do music when I sleep because my brain starts subconsciously singing along, which makes falling asleep even harder for me.

I love the silence. Music is more of a reward for me, a happy rarity, and it distracts me too much when I'm trying to write or sleep.

I personally love silence, my household is very noisy and I savor it whenever I can. For me, I get a feeling of peace in total silence. But sometimes too much total silence makes me feel uncomfortable and I have to put on some music or something lol.

Not me, I can't really concentrate or sleep with noise most of the time. Everyone in my household however are the opposite, they NEED music to do work and stuff, so you're not alone.

Depends on what you mean by silence.
If you mean "complete lack of any noise", then yes, I can't stand it. It gives me severe anxiety and whatever sounds ARE present will start triggering my sensory issues. (Like, I remember exams in school were rough because it was so quiet I could hear people's pencils scritching.)
If you mean needing distinctive noise like music or voices, then no. In fact, I find that stuff really distracting and I won't be able to concentrate if those things are too clear.
My ideal noise level is a really loud fan or rain. Actually, my smartwatch records ambient noise level, so I can actually specifically say my ideal noise level is around 50dB, which is about 100 times louder than a quiet bedroom, lol. If it gets any quieter than 30dB I start having issues.

I used to be really freaked out by silence, especially during the night, but it doesn't really bother me anymore. I still usually have something like music or the like running when I'm awake though.
