Brightmist bit back a chuckle when Sunfur flicked his tail at his shoulder but he failed to hide his grin. With a light purr he moved a paw as if he was trying to swat at the tail and then flicked his tail at Sunfur's ear. Not wanting to make too much noise he decided against saying something. As he did silently joke around though he kept scenting the air. As good as their group was, they really didn't want to be taken by surprise if they ran into a fox.

Hey guys, really sorry I had hoped to get a response done before going out but haven't managed to. I'll be back later this evening, again I'm really sorry for the delay!

(Yeah, it's totally fine. Not like I can talk anyway, what with living in a different timezone. I'll be back in the evening. Or afternoon if we go by EST.)

Copperstar; The observant tom had noted his companion's subtle limp early on, his gaze narrowing a shade to consider it. There was no obvious sign of an open wound, but he didn't feel confident about taking an injured warrior onto a potential battlefield. He moved to say something, but paused when the deputy only made light of the situation. Copperstar flicks an ear in the tom's direction, but says nothing for the time being. Vowing to keep an eye on it, and if it proves more bothersome to Emberfall, have the tom sent back to camp. He didn't wish to embarrass the deputy after bestowing the role of patrol leader upon his head, but he wouldn't put a little humiliation above keeping a warrior safe.
Fawnleap; Taking in the medicine cat's words with hidden amusement, Fawnleap shakes her head with a huff. "I'm not sure I have any pride left," she murmurs with a flick of her plumed tail, she had been left feeling thoroughly useless for the better part of two moons, her warriorhood was one of her biggest points of pride. "I think these kits have stripped me of every ounce of dignity I once held claim to." She prayed for the day this would be all over, and at the very least she would have sweet kittens to make the whole ordeal worth it. Her smile is a little shy thing, a butterfly dancing from petal to petal, rarely seen but quite beautiful. The mousey feline sighs, tucking her paws beneath her chest, her eyes continuing to follow the medicine cat. "They certaintly do, namely why in the name of stars must it be the shecats who have kits, I'd like to see one of the tom's take on the burden from time to time," she sighs. Her gaze flicking from the shadowed medicine cat den and out into camp, wondering briefly where the tom who had gotten her into this position was at this time of day. Other than the fact I've not quite felt myself in what feels like a lifetime? She bites that response back, knowing she already sounds like quite the spoilt brat with so many complaints. "Nothing too important," she says with a shrug of her shoulders, perhaps partly out of fear she would need to force more herbs down her throat if she did complain. "Be grateful you'll never have kits, I can't say I'd recommend the experience all in all." That's no problem, by the way Feathertalon , sorry I'm not sure I responded.

Webheart Β» A small, terrible part of Webheart wanted to respond back with a retort toward the molly's comment. She wanted to ask something along the lines of 'then why did you decide to have kits if you feel this lowly about it all', but she held her tongue, remaining friendly toward the molly. Webheart had to understand that Fawnleap was having a difficult time, and the medicine cat was sure she would soon more than understand what the queen was going through. Perhaps the sudden need to become snarky was due to her own pregnancy, or perhaps it stemmed from the slight envy she had toward other mollies who could have a family without consequence, but either way, she remained warm, keeping her negative thoughts to herself.
Fawnleap's next comment helped bring Webheart back into a state of mind where she was amused. Laughter glinted in her murky gaze. "Mollies are stronger than toms. A tom could never do what we do."
Now back to business, Webheart listened as Fawnleap went on to say that nothing more had been bothering her. A part of her wondered how true that was, but once again she kept her pestering thoughts to herself. Instead, she focused on the next thing the other molly said, tail twitching in thought. "Say, do you believe that medicine cats should have kits or not? I know what the code says, but, well..." She trailed off, tail once again twitching as she journeyed into her thoughts. "Doesn't the code there seem a bit...archaic?" Perhaps this was a lot to bring up when all Fawnleap wanted was some relief for her pain, but the topic had been breached, and now Webheart was craving answers.

Fawnleap; "I'm not sure I'm strong enough for it," she admits with a twitch of her whiskers, never again, if that stupid mate of hers wanted more kits he could well and good carry them himself. She blinks, visibly surprised by the sudden question from the medicine cat. "I hadn't meant to offend you," she stuttered, taken aback to say the least. Fawnleap tilts her head, studying the medicine cat while considering her answer with some carefulness. "Why, is it something you've wanted?" She words her first question carefully, now genuinely curious as to the answer. It was hard to picture a medicine cat with a litter of nursing kittens at her side, something about the idea seemed bizarre to her. But Fawnleap could admit, she wasn't sure exactly why her reaction to the idea was quite so vehement. She supposed it was the way she was raised, medicine cats weren't meant to be mother. But as she considered it, she realised she was never sure exactly why. "I've never thought that much about it," she admits after a moment, feeling an uncharacteristic need to fill the uncomfortable silence that had fallen between them. She glances sideways at the medicine cat, worried this might be some sort of test, and if she failed she might be in trouble for answering wrong. "Medicine cats have such an important duty to the clan, we'd all be lost without you, I suppose being a mother would tear you between duties?" She asks, very clearly trying to avoid offence to anyone. Her gaze drifts from the medicine cat's eyes, sheepish as she laps at her chest. "But then i suppose leaders are allowed kits, so it seems bizarre that one is while the other isn't," she admits. That's no problem, by the way Feathertalon , sorry I'm not sure I responded.
