the forbidden love code for both warriors and medicine cats should have been abolished after OotS...with leaf x crow revealed, OotS should have gotten rid of both codes because leaf x crow and their kits all proved that things were not that awful. and the bad stuff that did happen as a result, it was only because the codes existed at all in the first place. leafpool did her duties. and when the three found out their lineage, they still remained loyal thunderclan cats because of how they were raised...
and if the forbidden love code for warriors didn't end with leaf x crow, the next one it should have been abolished with was tiger x dove. after all the dragged on drama it caused, you'd think THEY would be the ship it would be abolished on, but no...they kept it for the next arc for even more cheap drama...
it's so infuriating that there's no in universe reason to get rid of these two codes. leaf x crow would have gotten rid of both warrior and medicine cat codes at the SAME TIME. it was literally perfect, but the writers ignored this reasoning to keep it for future cheap drama that's just a repeat or rehash of previous fobidden love ships.
the truth is the warrior and medicine cat code should have abolished the forbidden love codes after leaf x crow. it still is SUCH a big wasted opportunity to get rid of two birds with one stone.

Ehh...I feel that the code is good because it prevents way more loyalty issues when it comes to the clans as a whole. But the fact that cats can't seem to control themselves is the only reason we have any real issues in the first place. I don't mind Gray x Silver, but they were still breaking the code, the only thing is that they were at least committed to changing clans for one another. When it comes to Crow x Leaf, it doesn't feel the same, and their idea of running away completely just didn't sit right with me, it was worse than SilverGray tbh. If they really wanted to be together then Leaf should have stepped down from meddie and move to WindClan. Either way, I'm glad they're both over their silly fleeting feelings for one another, cause honestly a lot of the POT crap could have been avoided if they knew how to control themselves and not act like idiotic teens and more like actual mature adults. Also, the I think the meddie rule is fair as well, because the fact that it can overlap with the possibility of having a mate in another clan as well, just makes it worse. I don't think any clan would like to find out that their medicine cat, the equivalent of their medical nun, is shacking up with some fellow in WindClan. It's not loyal in the least. TigerDove proved just how easily information can be used against clans, and LeafCrow proved just how awful a fallout can be. Heck the custody battles would be awful. And I'd rather my meddie be focused on saving her clanmates and not distracted by whether her kits are safe or not. I feel like this is also why the Erins need to stop putting medicine cats in that position if they still desire the life of a warrior. A grace period maybe would be nice? Or ya know, not to force that prophecy crap on them, kinda like with Alderheart? Let a medicine cat choose to be a medicine cat, not forced by destiny, and actually want the position. And if the apprentice takes the vow after the grace period, they should be held accountable properly if they break it. Regular warriors can just switch clans, it really isn't that complicating. But for a medicine cat, I feel like they should get a choice to stay in that position or not, and just keep it simple at that. If it's not the type of job for them? That's fine. Just be a warrior. Move clans. Easy. Like all warriors should have basic hunting skills, and ways to defend themselves, including Leafpool, so it baffles me that she wasn't able to do much of either especially when Cinderpelt insisted on it. I also like the idea of all warriors having basic herb training too, and maybe if one is interested in being a medicine cat they can ask for more serious indebt training for the said position. I feel like that would be more fair.

*Ottersplash*i say leaf x crow because their story is the catalyst for the things to come (po3 & oots r direct results/consequences of leaf x crow). leaf x crow has a bigger impact. yeah, sure, most of them were consequenes and bad things happened, but the overall thing i get at, is that leaf x crow was made important because of the three. them being the parents of 2/3 should have been a factor to change it. silver x gray didn't really do anything impactful like leaf x crow (even tiger x dove had bigger imapcts than silver x gray imo. dovewing moving to shadowclan and being part of why tigerheart becomes leader i guess).
