even if rigoletto was 100% serious.. you can't be sexist against men.. omgalso he is very obviously trolling y'all Oh really? So my grandmother telling my father, when he was a child, that "men aren't allowed to cry" before she beat him up with a belt isn't sexist? She also said the same thing when we visited her once after my first cat had died and her grown up son dared to shed some tears about it. I really hope you're trolling as well with that one phrase because..."omg".

My dad was constantly told to “man up” and to “stop being dramatic” when his anxiety and depression severely screwed up his emotions sometimes. He was also deemed weak and my mom was actually way more aggressive towards him than he ever was towards her during the time before their divorce. I h a t e it when people say that men can’t be targeted or abused or treated badly simply for being men, because they absolutely can. So I agree with you here.

weaponizing your dad's abuse doesn't make you right

See what we’re not going to do is belittle abuse victims regardless of their gender because of your warped views on who wins the Oppression Olympics rather than focusing on helping actual victims. Too early in the damn week for this.

Reminder that prejudice and oppression aren’t the same thing! You can be prejudiced against any race, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc but only a select few are actually oppressed. Oppression is systematic while prejudice is just hatefulness or bias. One can be prejudiced against men but men are not oppressed. I’ve seen actual examples of misandry, but in no way are men oppressed like women have for centuries due to the patriarchy.
Just because women have been oppressed for so long doesn’t mean we should undermine what men go through as well. They are also victims of the patriarchy in a few ways.
