Kristoffer knew he shouldn't be surprised that there was a possibility of Beau having met his brother, but he couldn't hide the surprise in his voice when he asked, "Really? You've probably met my brother then." A smile pulled at his lips when he heard the joke, relaxing in his chair with a laugh. "Guess somebody needs to call animal control before it gets out of hand."
So they were brothers, Beau had thought so, but it also seemed rude to assume. “Luckily, my own siblings don’t attend Frontier, so we won’t have too many wolves on our hands,” he joked lightly back. “I met your brother the other day at a party, he was trying to fit as many chips as possible into his mouth.”

Kristoffer was finding this to be a rather nice interaction. Most typically were, but there were always a handful of negative interactions. Which, speaking of certain interactions.
Kristoffer couldn’t help but give a slight grimace when Beau mentioned meeting Crawley at a party. ”Well, I guess it could have been worse. He wasn’t too bad, was he?” Kristoffer knew how Crawley could be when he was drunk - he was wild and had no impulse control, not that he had any to start with, but there were times when he stepped into depressed drunk territory, and Kristoffer worried if Beau had to deal with that side of Crawley as well.
“Oh, no, he was fine, he literally just shoved chips into his mouth and then Ives-er, my friend, showed him how to fit even more chips in his mouth,” Beau explained quickly. Honestly, he had only been paying minimal attention, parties had never entirely been his thing, at least, not that kind of party, however they hadn’t ended up staying long after the chip thing anyways.

Kristoffer nodded as he listened along to what Beau had to say. ”That all sounds exactly like something he’d do. Kinda surprised it took him being drunk to do that,” he mentioned with a slight laugh. Honestly, he was surprised his brother hadn’t done something like that while sober before - or if he had Kristoffer didn’t know anything about it. ”At least it doesn’t seem like you had to deal with too much from him.”
Beau shook his head. “Honestly it was fine, he was entertaining, he and his friend came back to our house for a little bit and we talked,” he explained with a small shrug. “I promise, he wasn’t a bother, but I’m guessing you probably have dealt with stuff like this before?” He questioned, going off of Kristoffer’s reaction.

Honestly Kristoffer was glad Crawley hadn't been too much. He loved his brother, and he would be forever grateful for everything Crawley had done for him in the past, but he was Kristoffer's brother, and sometimes siblings were annoying regardless of anything else. He was glad to hear Noah had been on good behavior as well. "Oh yeah," he responded with a nod, a good natured laugh following the gesture. "I've had to deal with a lot. Sometimes it's like watching a toddler, but this toddler is stronger than you." While Crawley was stronger than Kristoffer, he could say he easily had height on Crawley, which did sometimes work out in Kristoffer's favor.
Beau couldn’t help but smile a little. As someone with siblings, he could relate to what Kristoffer was saying. He loved each and every one of his siblings dearly, however they could also be a lot to handle as well, especially considering there were five of them. “It seems like you and your brother are close,” he deduced. “Do you two take any classes together?”

”We are,” Kristoffer confirmed with a nod. He and Crawley had been close for as long as he could remember. They had been through a lot together, and sometimes it had rly like all they had had was one another. There had been more than enough hard times, but those had only made the two closer, and Kristoffer still had a lot to thank Crawley for.
When asked about classes, Kristoffer shook his head. ”No, we’re in completely different tracks. I’m biology and education while he’s graphic arts.” They hadn’t even been able to get any of their basic classes together, so now they really only got to see one another outside of classes when they were home.
Beau nodded in understanding. “Ah, I doubt we have any shared classes either then, I’m a history major,” he explained, gesturing to all the history books and other school related equipment sprawled out across the table.

”What time period are you majoring in?” Kristoffer asked. There were so many different eras to specialize in, and so many areas of the world with different time periods that could be studied thoroughly. Beau could be studying anything, and Kristoffer was curious to know what he found the most interesting in history.
“18th century, specifically Europe and America,” Beau answered with ease. “I have an interest in all history, but there’s way too much to cover, so I’m focusing on what interests me the most,” he explained with a simple shrug.

"That sounds really interesting," Kristoffer replied with a nod. He didn't know much about the 18th century other than how it was the age of enlightenment, but beyond that, he didn't know any specifics or what all actually went down in that time period; history had always intrigued him, and he was good at it, it just wasn't something he had wanted to go deeper into.
Beau smiled, nodding in agreement. “It is! It was hard for me to pick between the 18th century or ancient civilizations, however in the end, the 1700s won me over,” he explained with a gentle shrug. It wasn’t often that he got to ramble about his interests, mostly due to the fact that his friends tended to talk louder, but it was nice to talk about it, all the same.

It was hard to not smile hearing Beau talk about his major. It was clear to Kristoffer that this was the other man’s passion, and even if Kristoffer wasn’t as into history as Beau was, he couldn’t help but feel himself get excited about it all as well.
”I don’t hear about the 1700s being studied as much as ancient civilizations. I mean, even I can tell you more about ancient cities than I can the 18th century.” Which was a shame, he should know a good amount about all aspects of history, but he didn’t, though perhaps if he hung around Beau more he would pick up on some interesting facts.
Beau smiled at Kristoffer, letting out a faint, joyful snort. “Most people can only pick the major events from the 18th century to memorize,” he admitted, happy to talk about his interests, however he also paused, realizing he could possibly be boring Kristoffer. “What about you though?” He inquired. “Why are you going into biology?”

While Kristoffer actually was enjoying discussing Beau’s interests, he had no problem jumping into the conversation focused on himself. Usually he shied away from putting the attention on him, but this interaction was going smoothly, and Kristoffer felt comfortable with what was happening.
He didn’t have to think about his answer as he responded, ”It’s just always fascinated me, and it’s always been my favorite subject in school. It came easy, so I ran with it and fortunately I enjoy it.”
Beau nodded in understanding, for him, his passions lay with history and music, however he had easily been pulled into the interest of his friends in the past, such as comic books, or Star Wars. - though he wasn’t as invested in either as Norman was - and although he couldn’t personally say he was interested in biology, he understood how it would be intriguing to Kristoffer. “My friend, Thaddeus, he’s going to be a doctor, so he’s taking a biology class right now as well, I wonder if you two are in the same class,” Beau mentioned offhandedly.
Post by Feathertalon on Sept 28, 2021 8:00:11 GMT -5
Had be heard of a Thaddeus before? It felt like maybe he had, but Kristoffer wasn’t the type of person to really sit down and figure out who was and who wasn’t in his classes. He wasn’t an outgoing, sociable guy - he left that to his brother and to Noah. They were the social butterflies of the group, the ones who had a knack for figuring out who people were and then going and hanging out with people and making friends. Kristoffer had just always been the quiet one, the one to sit back and absorb everything going on around him. It was something he had learned at an early age, to just stay quiet; make himself unknown to those nearby. It hadn’t always worked, but the mindset had stayed with him even now.
Pushing the thoughts away, he gave the name a moment more of thought before responding, ”Its a possibility. I’ll have to find out next time I’m in classes, unless you happen to know his schedule and I can compare it to mine.” He meant the last part as more of a joke, knowing that Beau more than likely didn’t keep his friend’s schedule on a mental file at all times.
With an ease, Beau listed off Thaddeus’ biology class. “He’s in biology from 9 am to 10 am,” he recited easily, pausing only once he realized how fast he has listed that off. Instantly he flushed and looked down. “I uh, I get lonely, sometimes, so i have all my friends schedules memorized,” he admitted softly, tapping his fingers on the table. Beau had never had the easiest time making friends, which meant he could be a little...clingy to the friends he had.

He had to admit, Kristoffer was impressed with how easily Beau recited his friend's schedule. While impressed, though, he also felt a little pang of sadness for the other guy, hearing how he got lonely so that, in turn, had him memorizing schedules. While Kristoffer wouldn't mind sitting there and listening to any woes Beau might have, he decided that the other guy probably wouldn't want to throw all his problems out to somebody he had only known for a few minutes, so rather than focus on that, Kristoffer placed his attention on the first topic. "That's when I have that class, so I'll have to keep an eye out for your friend. It's kind of a big class, but it's probably not hard to find out who Thaddeus is." After all, Thaddeus wasn't a very commonly heard name, so it wasn't like Kristoffer was going to have to sort out every single Thaddeus in biology and narrow it down to just one.
“If you do see him, tell him you know me, Thad can be...a little asocial at times to most people,” Beau admitted, as he tapped a finger across the table. Thaddeus wasn’t horribly asocial, however it was still pretty clear that his tall friend had few people he enjoyed hanging out with frequently, despite that, Beau liked to think that he and Kristoffer could be friends, Kristoffer seemed like a rather nice guy.

Who knew that not noticing somebody at a table would offer up not just one friendship, but potentially two? This was something Kristoffer was going to have to tell Crawley and Noah about later - they’d be proud that he had finally made some progress in the friend department. ”That sounds easy enough to to do.” Kristoffer gave a nod. ”I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for him next time I’m in that class.”
Beau smiled at Kristoffer. That’s it, that’s the whole post, I’m only giving you four words....nah
“Alright, well, my next class is soon, so I probably need to get going,” Beau explained as he slowly started to collect his things. “But it was nice meeting you,” he added, glancing toward the table for a moment before placing a small piece of paper down. “If you ever need someone to have lunch with, give me a call,” he said, tapping the paper with his finger.

give me four words
That old saying was true - time flew when having fun.
Kristoffer hadn’t even realized how much time had passed until Beau had brought it up. It was getting close to when he would have to prepare for his next few classes of the day. He had enjoyed this interaction with Beau, and was a little saddened that it had to come to an end so soon. Getting ready to leave, he was about to offer a goodbye to Beau but was stopped when he watched Beau place paper down on the table.
For a moment he stood there just staring at it until, finally, his brain picked up on what needed to happen. He took the paper and glanced it over. ”Oh, thanks. Yeah, exchanging numbers is a good idea.” Kristoffer smiled faintly, cheeks warming slightly. ”I’ll make sure to get in touch soon.” And he did mean that, he had liked spending time with Beau.
