At this point, Ives wasn’t entirely sure what to say so he just kind of glanced down towards his food. “Ah, right...” he trailed off, taking a bite of his hamburger before he paused, noticing an extra thing of McNuggets on the tray. “Oh hey, I think they gave us an extra bag, sweet!” He said, reaching out for it.

Noah eyed the box of nuggets excitedly. He shook his head. ”I didn’t order another, but if we got an extra, then…” He looked from the box to Ives and then back to the nuggets. ”Wanna split them?” They’d each get five, which to Noah seemed like a fair amount between the other food they already had.
Ives nodded, already beginning to count them and divide them between the two. “That’s pretty cool, I don’t often get extra food,” he admitted, taking his and pushing the rest towards Noah. “Hey, next time we meet up, you should bring Blitz, I’d love to meet him,” he added, glancing back towards Noah.

Noah gladly took the extra nuggets that had been divided out specifically for him. Right as he was about to pop one into his mouth as if it were just a simple snack, he heard Ives bring up the idea of bringing Blitz next time they met up. He sat the nugget down for a moment, a grin pulling at his face. That’s a really good idea. Blitz would love that too. He’s real friendly, I don’t think he’s met a person he didn’t like.” Outside of work, that was. Blitz took his job seriously, but on his days off or after a shift he was as friendly as could be, more of a happy puppy than a serious cop dog.
Ives grinned at the thought of meeting Blitz. “He sounds great, what kind of treats does he like?” He asked, already making a mental note to pick whatever kind of treats Blitz liked, up so he had them whenever he did get to meet him.

”He eats just about anything.” Noah couldn’t think of a single thing Blitz wouldn’t eat, or at least try and take a bite of. He was a bit of a glutton, that dog. ”Though he’d probably do anything for peanut butter. Those might be his favorite.”
Peanut butter. Ives made a quick mental note of that. “Peanut butter is awesome, it’s one of my favorite foods,” he admitted, eating the last of his food. “Blitz has good taste.” And now he knew which kind of treats to get.

Noah smiled and gave a faint nod. ”He knows how to pick a good favorite.” It wasn’t too much longer that Noah finished his food, the extra nuggets included. He gave a satisfied sigh, full after the meal. He glanced over at Ives. ”Anything else you wanna add to this little date?” He asked, a gleam of tease in his eyes at the use of the word ‘date’.
Ives blinked, stopping at the word. “Date?” He repeatedly dumbly. Was that was this was? They did go out to eat together, and Noah did pay, which did sort of fall into that sort of “date” category, didn’t it? “Oh uh-“ he continued, just as dumbly as before.

Noah hadn’t meant to confuse or upset Ives in any way. He has been teasing, though maybe it hadn’t come across as that, or maybe Ives was one of those people who couldn’t take a joke - though that seemed unlikely to Noah. He didn’t know Ives too well just yet, but he seemed like he could understand when something was serious or not. Usually.
As for another thing Ives could very well be straight and was appalled at the idea of dating a guy, whether that be in jest or not. ”Sorry there,” Noah started, hoping he came off as apologetic as he felt. ”Didnt mean to cause anything.”
Ives instantly shrugged it off. “Oh, no, sorry, I forgot that a lot of people use it casually,” he explained with a wave of his hand. “Not that I’d be opposed to that though,” he joked. It had taken him a minute, but he figured out what was going on.

A sigh of relief escaped Noah's lips at Ives's answer. He was glad to hear that he hadn't made the other man uncomfortable, or worse yet, make it to where Ives didn't want to hang out with him anymore or something like that. Noah was rather sociable and good with people, he didn't mess up very often, but when he did, it stung, especially when he messed up with somebody that he wanted to actually keep a friendship with.
Noah's lips pulled into a sly smile. "Then it's a date." He knew this was a joke, something that wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but it did make him think about how he was single, attractive, and he wouldn't mind mingling. He had never really had a serious relationship, though, the most "serious" he had ever been had been under the pretense that he had to get married with this one particular girl that his parents had picked out for him back when he had just been barely a toddler. He had tried to like her, but things just hadn't clicked. She had been too stiff. She had a monotone feel to her, a clear byproduct of the world she had been raised into. Noah felt bad for her, but he doubted there was any way to change her mind.
Beyond that, though, he had had his share of flings here and there, nothing serious, nothing beyond a few dates or just something as simple as a one time hook up and that was that. But, as he sat there thinking about it, it occurred to him that he did enjoy the idea of finding that special somebody, that person he would be with forever and mold a life with. It would be really nice, and with that in mind, he couldn't stop himself from asking Ives, "Are you dating anyone though?"
“Ah me?” Ives asked, finishing the last of his food. “Nah, I’ve dated a few people before but to be honest, it never really lasted too long,” he admitted with a casual shrug. Back in high school he had gone on a few days, had a couple crushes, got rejected a couple times, typical stuff like that, but he hadn’t exactly dated someone long term. “Usually something happens, like they move away and don’t wanna do long distance, or they don’t wanna date a starving musician, or something like that,” he explained, waving his hand around. “You?”

Noah could relate to the whole “it didn’t last long” thing. Not that he had ever really put much thought into a long term relationship until now, and even now he wasn’t putting a lot into it, he was just realizing that now he was at an age where the thought of settling down with somebody eventually sounded nice. Maybe in a few years he’d be with somebody and they’d be living together in a nice house with a good expanse of land. Perhaps Crawley could be their neighbor - Noah wouldn’t be able to live far away from his closest friend and bro. Kristoffer could be the neighbor on the other side if he wanted, just a nice group of neighbor friends.
That all sounded nice, but rather than daydream about it he needed to listen to Ives and focus on that. ”No, I’m not dating anybody or anything right now. I haven’t even really been with somebody seriously before, either, unless you count - well, it’s a long story.” He shook his head and gave something of a laugh, an indicator of him showing he would be okay to talk about that if Ives found the urge to learn more about it.
Ives tipped his head to the side, a clear curiosity sparking in his eyes. “Oh? Can I pry for more information?” He asked innocently, as he leaned back in his seat. “You’ve piqued my interest.” It seemed as if Noah had a story to share and Ives couldn’t help but be curious about it, he’d understand though, if this wasn’t a story Noah wanted to share at the time.

Noah was a pretty open person. If somebody asked about his life then he more than likely was going to answer truthfully. He didn’t have anything to hide, and once people knew who he really was, it wasn’t like he could hide a lot of his life in the first place. Here in the United States he didn’t have people recognize him just by name or anything like that, and that was nice. He could pretty much do whatever he wanted here without some sort of stigma or stereotype placed on him. Back in Europe, though, it was a different story.
No, now wasn’t the time to get into all of that. He didn’t need to focus on the whole picture, only a small part of the entire lifestyle he had grown up with.
”You see, I come from a pretty influential family.” A powerful, very well respected family, but he left that out. ”So, of course, my family had picked out another family’s daughter to sort of be like my betrothed. It was never called that, but that’s basically what it was. Anyway, I tried to make things work once we got a little older and understood a bit more of what was supposed to happen, but…we didn’t click. She was too, I don’t know, lifeless, I guess. I was able to get out of that relationship without much hassle, so it ended well enough I guess.” Noah gave a pause to let Ives process it all before giving a nonchalant shrug. ”So yeah, that’s probably the most serious thing I’ve had dating wise.”
Ives listened with his head tipped to the side, nodding along as Noah went in and explained his story. Now, Ives had never been in a situation like that, but he could imagine it was pretty rough. After all, love usually didn’t come when forced. “Wow, I wonder what girl is up to now,” he commented, sighing dramatically. “Do you think you broke her heart? Is she off somewhere, knowing she’ll never be with the great Noah...” Ives paused, trailing off. “Er, I don’t know your last name.”

Noah knew that Ives was only joking around, giving a little bit of a dramatic flair to the otherwise seriousness that had swept over them, but he couldn't help but stop and think about the things Ives brought up. He hadn't exactly kept tabs on his former wife-to-be, and maybe he should have, but he felt like she was doing fine. If anything she had probably been handed off to some other young, established male that had been approved of by her parents. They probably made a better match, not that Noah had any negative thoughts about that.
He shook these thoughts out of his head when he heard Ives's voice once more. "Schultz," he answered rather quickly. "The great Noah Schultz," he mused ever so slightly, finding some amusement in this now.
Ives smiled when Noah gave his last name. He didn’t know any Shultz, but it sounded sort of German to him, which seemed to track, given Noah’s accent and what Ives cohld remember about him. “I like it, my last name is Bordé,” he added, figuring he ought to give that explanation as well. It was only fair.

Noah nodded when Ives gave his last name. ”Never heard that one before. It’s unique.” This was the first he had ever heard of that last name. His own last name wasn’t exactly uncommon, and in a way it was somewhat boring. But anyway.
While Noah could have easily stayed here all day and chat with Ives, he knew he had to get going. Blitz would be ready for a walk soon, and he was sure there were other things he needed to do before it got too late. ”I hate to ruin this, but I probably should get going,” he started somewhat sorrowfully, though he reminded himself that he could just meet up with Ives at another time considering they had each other’s contact information now.

After three hours of class, Kristoffer was more than ready to take a break from schoolwork. He enjoyed his classes, but even somebody like him needed a little break before going back to more learning. So, doing as he usually did, he headed toward the food hall, contemplating getting some kind of coffee while he settled down for a bit. He wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, but sometimes Kristoffer did need something a little extra to get him through the day. Luckily he only had two more classes, but that was still two hours he had to get through, and a little coffee break would more than likely do him wonders right about now.
Beau brought his drink up to his face and took a sip, immediately scrunching up his nose in disgust once the bitter taste of coffee tingled against his tongue. He shook his head and stared at the cup in front of him. “...Why does Norman like this so much?” He questioned quietly to himself, putting the cup down. He was in the food hall, currently sitting at a small table in the back, trying to get a meal in before he had to go back to the house.

Luckily for Kristoffer the lines weren’t too bad and he was able to get a coffee rather quickly. Once he had the drink he headed toward a seat in the back, not really looking where he was going until he had come to a stop beside a table that already had somebody sitting there.
Embarrassment flushing his cheeks, Kristoffer made a move to walk away, but not before hastily apologizing, ”Sorry, I didn’t notice anybody was here.”
Beau blinked, looking up when someone neared his table. He didn’t recognize him but to be fair, he didn’t recognize most people. “Oh, hi,” he greeting, moving some of his books out of the way to make room for the stranger. “It’s fine, I don’t mind company so long as you don’t,” he said with a small smile.

Kristoffer looked the guy over for a moment, trying to figure out if he maybe knew him, or at least recognized him. But, as he expected, he had no idea who the other guy was; Crawley had always been the social butterfly of the two.
He eventually looked away from the guy when he spoke up. ”Oh, you sure?” Kristoffer wasn’t opposed to social interaction, and he wasn’t all that awkward when he got a conversation going, but he remained standing where he was for now, wanting to double check and make sure it was okay before just sitting down.
Beau nodded, pushing his stuff to the side to make room for him. “I’m used to having people around, it’s no problem,” he explained with a simple shrug, looking back over at the man with a small, gentle smile. “I’m Beau by the way, Beau Wolff.”

Now that he had confirmed permission to take a seat, Kristoffer sat his coffee down on the table and pulled a seat out to take. "Thanks." He offered a small smile toward the guy - Beau, apparently. "Kristoffer Fox." He had never heard of a Beau Wolff around, but then again, Kristoffer didn't get out much and socialize. He went to class, did anything extra he might have to do, and then head home to the apartment he shared with his brother and friend. Maybe it sounded like a boring life to some people, but to Kristoffer, he enjoyed the routine and structure. Made him feel secure in life.
Beau paused at the name, blinking on surprise for a moment before his lips curled back in a smile. “You know, you’re the second Fox I’ve met recently,” he commented with a faint chuckle. “You’d almost think there’s a canine infestation here,” he joked.
