My mom is artistic and loves when I draw, and when I was a kid I drew a ton of Warriors fanart so she was fine with my obsession with the series. The one time it caused tension was when I bought A Dangerous Path on her iPhone (back in 2010) as an eBook, so I kept taking it from her. As an adult if I bring the books up, she'll say something along the lines of "Oh, those fighty cat books, right?". It makes me smile that she remembers Also, he's not my parent, but I used to make my twin brother watch awful Warriors YouTube videos with me back in the day... sometimes he quotes them to me, and I die inside.

My mom was the one who requested Into the Wild from the library for me since one of her friends recommended it. I didn’t really like it at first, but my mom forced my to read it and I became obsessed. I also forced my little sister to read them and she became obsessed too. I think my mom definitely regrets making me read them. From then on Erin Hunter books were the only form of literature I consumed for about 5 years. My sister still will check some out to reread whenever we go to the library, and my mom constantly comments on how we need to just leave it behind and the books are too childish.
She never really cared to look into them herself, and she never asked us any questions. My sister used to show her MAPs and try to explain what was going on in them, but my mom usually ignored her. She liked how artistic the community was though, and she would try to get my sister and I to draw fanart and animations because she knew we liked drawing and thought we could do better than any of them lol

I'm lucky to have parents that support my interests, no matter weird it is. It's not harming anyone and I still take care of "important" things, like school and work, so they don't mind.
When I was younger, they were thrilled that I enjoyed reading-- because truly it was Warriors and Harry Potter that made me fall in love with books. They would allow me to get the books when they came out, but I would have to earn them of course. Nowadays I have money so I can just buy them myself, haha. My parents would take me on the tours to see Vicky, which was always the highlight of my year. It's unfortunate she doesn't have those anymore but I can understand. When I started collecting all the cover variations, hardcovers, and foreign editions, my mom went all the way and got most of them for my birthday. My dad wasn't too thrilled about that but he knows how much I love Warriors so he just went with it. He still teases me about it though. For a while my mom was invested in some of the characters because I would read the books to her when I was younger but we don't have time for that anymore. She still remembers characters like Firestar, Bluestar, and Yellowfang though. They both know I still actively read the books and don't mind because its a hobby of mine and these books are one of the most consistent things in my life. I also am active in the veterinary community and I'm obsessed with cats and books so it makes sense to them that I like them. My own cat also has a Warriors name. I could go on.
