* SPOILERS! *
It says in The Place Of No Stars blurb this:
"They now know the cause of their ancestor's mysterious silence"
But then when I read the book, I didn't see the cause of StarClan's silence revealed...
All I saw was more incel Ashfur, The Dark Forest cat, Snowtuft making his first appearance since Omen of the stars #6, Incel Ashfur's weird fog that was shrinking The Dark Forest and possessed spirits controlled by incel Ashfur.
Does anyone know the cause of StarClan's silence?

But do they know what blocking off StarClan from talking to the Clans? (nevermind Ashfur) In ALITM's blurb, it says StarClan must unite with the living Clans and the Dark Forest to defeat Ashfur. How can StarClan unite with The Dark Forest and the living Clans if Ashfur is the cause? What you said doesn't make since to me.

Ashfur literally was the one to block off StarClan from communicating with the living Clans way back at the beginning of TBC. They are unable to reach the Moonpool because of a barrier created by him and it has apparently not been broken down yet.

Isn't the cause of StarClan silence, like Hopelight said, Ashfur doing some weird magic that blocks off the Moonpool, the Clans' connection to StarClan?

Ashfur's magical fog might be the answer. It was consuming the Dark Forest and it seems to allow him the ability to warp the Dark Forest's reality a bit. Given the way he imprisoned Brambleclaw's soul in plants in an earlier book, I got the impression he did the same thing to Starclan's portal or maybe even moved its location entirely.

Gotta admit it does annoy me that the cause of all this mess is just a group of cats being idiots again. (In this case, it was Starclan)
Like, they have generations of great cats amongst them and they really choose Ashfur of all cats to go outside of Starclan? It's ridiculous
