She was literally on her own deathbed with Darktail threatening to kill her or Violetshine. She stalled Sleekwhisker and someone else (Darktail?) just so her friend can live. It's not her fault. It's no different than Stonefur's own demise, and I don't see anyone blaming him for being "at fault" with his own death. I don't understand how she's worse. Breezepelt wanted to kill everyone and was at everyone's mercy with his own Clan rightfully hating him for what he did tbh. Needletail was just a rebellious teen who didn't like the rules, but again, this is just my own opinion and how I view her. Everyone else has their own. Comparing Stonefur and Needletail is honestly offensive. Stonefur sacrificed his life after his leader betrayed everything. He was not part of Tigerstar taking over, he'd had no choice in the matter. Needletail brought Darktail and helped him take over her clan. She died trying to fix what she had started. You don't get to be a martyr fixing your own mistakes. People compare situations all the time. It shouldn't be offensive, but if that's how you feel, then I'm sorry? They're just cat books. From what I remember, Darktail and Rain both wanted to help ShadowClan with hunting. Again, she was naive at the time, and she really didn't start disliking the warrior code up until Rowanstar rejected their help (once again, putting his own pride before his own cats) and Tawnypelt didn't want to help find her after she was picked up by an owl and almost DIED. It was probably very devastating for her to feel like her own clan didn't bother try looking for her, and I completely understand why she became resentful of her own clan after this. Needletail didn't start all of this. It started from everyone losing respect for Rowanstar, and his own warriors and the other apprentices. Again, if Rowanstar actually gave a crap and listened to his warriors, this wouldn't have happened. If his own warriors tried to dicipline their apprentices, this also wouldn't have happened. Everyone was at fault. It wasn't just Needletail's. She wasn't the only one who left, and some of their warriors actually enjoyed the group and stayed, like Sleekwhisker.
