Elara-Cathedral-Natille Elara was still shaken from the events a few days prior, beastkin were scarier then she thought possible. She could barely handle Bing around Megumi in class now, without the thoughts of Néo's beastform filling her head. Shaking out her head she took a few breaths to calm herself as she stepped into the cathedral. She walked around to get to the front to properly pray to the Goddess when she saw a familiar face, a slight smile gracing her face as she headed over. Watching Natalie for a bit before heading over properly to her. "Hey Natalie," she greeted her friend, giving a small bow to the noble girl.
Alastiar-Dining Hall-Luca Alastair entered the dining hall, he had done a few training sessions on his own, though it mostly entailed working on the dances he knew. But he wanted them to be perfect so he could better support his classmates in the mock battle. He scanned around and a grin formed when he saw Luca, heading over to the fellow dancer. "Hey," he greeted. "Found your date yet or am I looking to only have to be paying for one if your house wins?" While he was strongly confident in his classmates that they had a good shot at victory he hadn't really bothered to look at the other houses and what they were capable of.
Juris-Training Grounds-Open Juris was excited to finally be able to enjoy himself at the monastery, that rotten knight finally got in trouble for locking him in that kennel. His tail lashing behind him with a satisfied grin, happy that the knight got what he deserved. He was already plotting revenge against Ambrose, and so far he had yet to come up with a solid plan, but for now he wanted to get ready as fast as possible for the mock battle. Observing all who were currently present in the area to try get someone to spar with, and maybe if he was lucky they'd also let him use his beastform.
Pierce-Library-Occult Club Pierce looked up for the book he had been reading to kill time, the book talking about the great lords of the alliance. "Yes I do," he said, fixing his glasses so they rested more comfortable on his face. Looking around the room, there were still a few lingering students. "I can't wait for us to begin, hopefully it will be soon." Turning his gaze back to the book, he wanted to finish off with the lord he was on before they would leave so it would be easier to come back to pick up where he left off.
Searc-Greenhouse-Open Searc was watering the plants in the greenhouse, as he hadn't seen Philomel get to it today, and he felt like doing it for the professor, to let him have one less thing to worry about. He planned to try get to the training grounds eventually, if he had the chance, as he had seen Silke and one of the beastkin heading that way and hoped to be able to challenge both of them if they were still there when he got to the training grounds. As he refilled the watering can for the third time he headed back where he had left off.
Neason-Sauna-Open Neason was currently hanging out by the sauna, he had tried and failed to get Searc to go to the dining hall with him, but his stubborn twin refused, insisting he didn't need to eat before heading off. Right now he was now just trying to figure out what trouble he could stir up at the moment, with thoughts about maybe causing some issues with the sauna, surely that shouldn't be to big a deal right? Humming quietly he turned his gaze briefly to watch the other people moving about Garreg Mach from where he was.

Néo | Stables | MegumiNéo looked over at the entrance when he heard someone approaching and sat up. He scowled, annoyed that he couldn't stay in his beastform now that he no longer was the only one here but when another Taguel poked her head in his hostility made way for surprise. She still was a student though so he shifted back into his human form and after a moment he got down from the stack of hay he was sitting on. While he was sure that she wouldn't be bothered by it if he had stayed in his beastform he didn't want to take any chances. He didn't want to sit through another dumb scolding so soon after the previous one. "Hey," he greeted her, a little wary but not unwelcoming either. Julius | Library | Occult ClubJulius grinned at Rekka's excitement and acknowledged Pierce's response with a nod. He hated having to wait for this but right now there was still too much going on outside. While no one would bat an eye at a group walking around the monastery it would be hard to find some place where they could hide until nighttime when there were so many students and other people. "At least we can get started right away once everyone else has gone back to their dorms," he said, careful to not let anyone outside their small group hear him. When they had met up yesterday Grimm had informed them that he had found a good place for them to hide once there were a fewer people outside. That way they wouldn't have to go back to the dorms first and wouldn't waste any time by waiting for the knights to walk by the dorms before they could meet up again. Julius briefly glanced at the book Pierce was reading, still a bit surprised that someone from the Kingdom was reading something about the Alliance. The Lion was a noble though so it wasn't too weird either. From what he had seen most nobles here took their position a bit more serious than Neason. Not wanting to keep Pierce from reading Julius turned to Rekka. "You sure are excited about this," he chuckled quietly. "Ever tried to sneak out before back home or is this your first rule-breaking ever?" Natalie | Cathedral | ElaraNatalie turned away from the statues, debating on whether she should head back to the dorms or stick around. Before she could come to a decision she spotted Elara and smiled to herself. She didn't feel too comfortable around her classmates yet so having her friend here was reassuring. "Hey," she said, happy to see her outside of class for once. But now that she was done with the small research she had done for her parents she would finally have just as much time as everyone else. "You know you don't have to do that," she said a bit quieter when the other girl gave a small bow. While she supposed that there were some nobles here who insisted on things like that there were also plenty who didn't. "We're not supposed to care too much about our standings here, right?" She gave a patient smile though, knowing that it wasn't something everyone could get used to right away. After almost three weeks there were still many commoners who couldn't fully ignore their noble classmates' status. "So, how are things going for you? This last few days have been quite eventful, haven't they?" Nora | Sauna | Neason
Nora left the reception hall, having passed through it when she came back from the cathedral, and was about to head over to the dorms. As she walked past the classrooms and got closer to the training grounds she paused for a moment, having spotted someone at the top of the stairs leading to the sauna. She usually didn't pay much attention to that place so she wasn't sure if many students went there or not but it probably wasn't unusual that at least one person could be seen near it. This one however, as she could tell from even where she was because of his cape, wasn't someone who should stand around there, or anywhere for that matter, on his own and without supervision. Nora hadn't seen Neason in action yet but she had definitely heard the others talk about him. She glanced up to where the building was and then over at the dorms, not quite sure if she still wanted to go there. It was probably better if she did but there was a chance whatever Neason was doing at the sauna would be at least somewhat funny or interesting. Maybe she was too quick to even assume anything but she thought it was very likely that he really was up to something. It had been a little over two weeks since the year had started and he was already known for causing trouble. She briefly grinned to herself as she walked up the stairs. While she wasn't a troublemaker herself and tended to follow the rules she couldn't deny that it was fun to watch some of the others cause some chaos. She looked over at Neason and gave a small nod to acknowledge him. "Good evening," she greeted him politely but she couldn't quite hide her curiosity and amusement.
Vincent | Fishing Pond | Open
Vincent stood by the pond and watched the fish. He had already spent a good part of the afternoon catching some and was done for today but he didn't want to head back to the dorms yet. There also wasn't much else to do today. He had trained with some of his classmates earlier today but while he did take it seriously he wasn't as obsessed as Silke so he didn't plan to spend most of his free time at the training grounds or the knights hall. At least not yet, there wasn't much to train for this month. There was the mock battle of course and he did want his class to win but from what he could tell the Eagles were strong enough as they were. While the Lions weren't too bad either they didn't have the same number of strong and skilled students as the Eagles. As for the Deer, Vincent doubted that they had a real chance. Going up against his friend Estelle and her classmates would still be interesting and fun but in terms of skill and raw strength the only opponent in the Deer he was worried about was Searc. While he was confident that he could hold his own against him he also knew that Searc would most likely win. Not that he expected to fight him at the mock battle, he was sure that Silke would gladly go up against the Deer. He did however want to see the outcome of that fight as he often wondered who was the stronger one of those two. Vincent shook his head and chuckled. Even though he had decided to spend the rest of the evening here at the pond and not at the training grounds he couldn't stop himself from thinking about the battle at the end of this month.

Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
Rekka laughed and scratched at his ear "Well, there weren't really many rules to break back home." he admitted "Like, I could stay out as long as I wanted to. I never wanted to leave because it was so expensive." the school was offering him classes and supplies due to encouraging human and Kitsune interaction. His tail wagged as he continued "Don't worry though, I am all in. I won't make any mistakes!" Rekka tilted his head "Are you a troublemaker?" none of his classmates really struck Rekka as problem children, though he wasn't exactly the best at picking out troublemakers himself.
Luca | Dining Hall | Alastair
When he was approached by his fellow dancer, Lucas face lit up. He grinned and waved a greeting. His grin quickly turned to a fake pout "I'll have a date in no time at all." in his defense, he had been pretty busy for the past little while. He leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand "You may not have heard, but I helped take out some bandits, some may say I was even a key figure in the battle. Impressed? If I'm that good you can only imagine how good my precious classmates are."
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
Megumi relaxed when she was greeted normally. It felt like she'd relaxed her shoulders for the first time in a long time "Hello, I hadn't realized there was another Taguel here. What is your name?" she didn't immediately recognize him, so he must not be a regular in the Taguels hometown. She wasn't being prickly, if a human student had seen her like this they'd probably have to take a second look.

Julius | Library | Occult Club"Wish we had that freedom here," he chuckled. "Yeah, I know, it's for our own good and stuff but it would make it easier for us to properly investigate if we could stay outside as long as we wanted." He grinned at the kitsune's reassurance and nodded. "Same for me, I'm not letting us get caught." At Rekka's question he laughed a little, trying to keep it down though to not disturb the other students in the library. "Well, I have two siblings and there's not much excitement in our town," he told him. "So yeah, we and our friends made some mischief every now and then." He grinned as he continued. "But that was years ago, we were a bunch of little kids. I'm much better behaved now! Well, aside from that one time on our second day here," he added. There were still some people talking about his and Neason's little show in the dining hall. "Not my fault though, Neason told me to show off my magic so I did. I mean, who am I to defy our house leader?" he joked. More earnest but still smiling he saod "I do stay out of trouble on my own but I can get talked into pretty much anything if it sounds like fun." Néo | Stables | MegumiAt her question he hesitated a bit, a little uncomfortable as he knew it wasn't a typical taguel name, but answered her anyway. "Néo Ménard," he said, hoping she wouldn't find anything too weird about it. "I haven't gotten to train with your class yet and don't get to see you students much anyway," he then explained. "You're Megumi, right? I've heard your names from one of the knights but I haven't memorized them all yet. Well, aside from you and the other beastkin here," he added with a slight grin. Agnar | Training Grounds | Open, mentions Juris, Callan and SilkeAgnar had spent the afternoon at the training grounds, working a bit one brawl first before he moved on to training with a sword instead. As he practiced he occasionally glanced over at the other people here. He saw that Callan was still here, also training with a sword but unlike him he was working on a specific combat art. Agnar worked a bit on his magic too, not to use it for a combat art but to just master the spell he had been working on since he had picked up reason magic as an interest. He stepped back from the training dummy and lowered his sword. Then he put it in his right hand so it wouldn't get in the way and tried to cast Wind again. Since it was only for training he wasn't required to carry a tome around. He knew the spell well enough to get it right without one. But until he had fully mastered it he would have to use a tome if he wanted to use magic in a real battle. So for now he would focus on that, along with keeping up his training with swords and in brawl. He wanted to master the wind spell before the mock battle. After firing the spell at the dummy he briefly looked over to the gate to the training grounds. He lifted his hand in greeting when he saw Silke but also didn't approach her, leaving her to her own training. He also greeted Juris when the wolfskin entered. So far he hadn't seen much of him, probably because Ambrose had locked the poor guy in the kennel. Agnar hadn't really believed it at first when he heard that the knight was getting punished for it. Not because there were consequences for it but because it was wild to him that he had actually locked up a student and gotten away with it for so long.
Jasmine | Knights Hall | Open
Jasmine and some of the other squires as well as some knights were in the knights hall. Some of them were training while others were standing or sitting around, chatting amongst themselves or otherwise spending some time there until their group would have to patrol the monastery tonight. Jasmine herself was watching some of the others train. She had practiced with them until a short while ago, now she stood to the side so some of the others could practice as well. She watched two squires who had started their training only recently, curious to see how they did so far.

Alastair-Dining Hall-Luca "Alright alright," he said with a slight laugh. "I'll believe in your ability to find one a bit more." Alastair blinked in surprise to him. "You went for that," he asked. He hadn't really wanted to go, it seemed like a waste of time, and he hadn't felt like he would be useful. "Well you seem quite talented in combat as well then. Your house might have surprises to look forward to if that's the case."
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar Juris picked up a sword from the rack. His ear speaking as he turned his head over to watch as Agnar performed Wind. He had no interest, nor had the talent, to do magic, but he still found it interesting. He wanted to get to know his classmates better since he missed quite a few opportunities to do so, his tail lashing behind him as his anger started to resurface, shaking out his head he headed over. "Hey...Agnar right," he said to the other student.
Pierce-Library-Occult Club Pierce closed his book when he finished the lord he was on. Listening as they spoke, while he never got into trouble growing up, granted he never raly had chances to do so, as he either was holed up in his room or had supervision. Part of him couldn't help but envy those that had more freedom. "I still can't believe you guys didn't really get in trouble for all that," he spoke up. "How did you manage that?"
Elara-Cathedral-Natille "Sorry," she apologized, while she knew they were meant to ignore statuses here, she had just panicked a bit and felt like she needed to bow. "It has been eventful yea," she agreed, there had been that mission she heard about with bandits then what happened with Ambrose and Néo, the academy definitelywas not all that her parents had described it to be. "But managing as well as I can well as I can though. How about you? How have you been holding up here?" Looking to the statues briefly she turned her full attention back to her friend.
Neason-Sauna-Nora Neason had finally made a plan, and as he was about to make it go into action, he heard a voice. He quickly closed the sauna door and chucked the fire spell behind him, where it struck and lit a near by tree on fire. "Hey! The fire was here when I got here," he said, flashing the most innocent smile he could muster. He sent a silent prayer Nora wouldn't tell on him. After all his prank was more to involve throwing the fire spell into the sauna onto the coals to make it hotter then it already was for those inside, completely harmless! Unlike Jason, who can be left alone depending on where he is, Nora is right Neason is a guy who 100% can't be trusted on his own)

Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
"Ohh I heard about that to! You must have some sort of skill for getting out of trouble. That could be helpful for us." he joked, not actually thinking they'd get caught... right? Besides, it wasn't as if they were stealing or breaking things. Rekka wasn't going to risk getting sent home. Not what he was having so much fun in the human cities.
Luca | Dining Hall | with Alastair
Luca preened under the compliment "That's right! I may not shine as brightly in training, but I can handle myself." he didn't mention that he'd probably be pretty useless alone. Luca gestured or Alastair to sit at the table with him. He hadn't had a chance to talk to him lately and wanted to catch up.
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
"Neo, i've never heard that name before. Where did you live before coming to the academy?" she was less curious about his name, and more on why she didn't know him "Oh, yes. I am Megumi." with the way he spoke of the other beastkin she could tell she liked him more than any student so far already.
Silke | Training Grounds | with Agnar, Juris, and Callan
Silke noted the appearance of some more students. She looked at them interacting curiously, leaning against the dummy she'd just beat up. A part of her wanted to throw herself into their conversation and challenge them to a battle, but the other half of her wanted to see what they'd get up to.

Julius | Library | Occult Club
"Yeah, I can't believe it either," he admitted with a laugh. "Sure, no one got hurt but it was pretty chaotic and freaked out the other students. I guess we're just lucky that our professor is Philomel. No idea what he and the others have discussed or even what Lady Hera had to say but he may have put in a good word for us." It was still incredible to him that he and Neason hadn't really been punished. They weren't allowed to use any kind of magic outside of class unless they were in the Knights Hall or at the Training Grounds and during the first week they had been watched closely but nothing worse than that. Those surface dwellers really were too lenient. "So yeah, whatever we do, just don't ask me to use magic. Even if we don't get caught everyone will know once they see the destruction. And I don't want to make Lady Hera and our professors regret their decision to only forbid me from using it unsupervised."
Callan | Training Grounds | Silke, Juris, Agnar (mentioned)Callan took a few steps back from the training dummy, taking a moment to catch his breath after practicing that combat art for so long. He hadn't made any significant progress aside from getting better at channelling his magic into the sword. It still required a lot of focus and energy so it was good to take short breaks every now and then. As he did though he noticed that some more students were at the training grounds now. He stared at them before lowering his gaze. It still surprised him that he hadn't noticed them until now. He had been to focused on his training to see any of them enter. Now he looked over at them, curious what they were doing. He wasn't surprised to see Silke, she pretty much lived at the training grounds. Then he looked over to Agnar and some wolfskin he didn't know. Wasn't there only one at the academy? As far as he knew only the Lions had a wolfskin in their class and the one he saw now definitely wasn't Rieka. He had also heard that there were some students running late and one of them was a wolfskin but he was supposed to be a Golden Deer. And since Callan hadn't seen anyone like that in class today this one was a different one. He didn't dare to approach him though. Instead he hesitantly walked over to Silke. If he went to Agnar and the wolfskin he'd just get in their way as it looked like they were going to spar. And while he also felt intimidated by Silke he was still curious enough to try and ask if she knew that guy. "Uh... hi," he said once he was close enough. He looked over at the other two and then back at Silke. "Any idea who- I mean... do you know who the wolfskin with Agnar is? I don''t think I have seen him before."
Agnar | Training Grounds | Juris
Agnar slowly nodded as Juris approached him, placing the sword back in his dominant hand again. "Yeah. And you are Juris?" He looked at the sword in the wolfskin's hand. "Here to spar with someone? Sure, I'd be up for that." Juris was the only Lion whose fighting skills he knew nothing about, thanks to Ambrose. "Oh, and I don't mind you shifting into your beastform but if you want to practice with a sword that's fine too." Nora | Sauna | Neason
Nora let out a quiet laugh when Neason chucked something behind him. She had enough experience with that kind of magic herself so she could guess what the Deer had thrown. And even if she didn't, the tree that 'mysteriously' caught on fire made it pretty easy to figure out. "Indeed, it must have waited until now to burst into flames," she said, looking amused. She probably should have been more concerned about it but as long as the fire didn't spread there was no issue. She glanced at the tree and then looked back at Neason. "Will you get in trouble?" she asked, keeping her voice down for this. "You do have a reputation for... well, this," she added, gesturing towards the burning tree. Then she gave him a slight grin. "Even if I haven't seen you cast any magic. So at least there are no witnesses."
(Well, too bad that she isn't too opposed to all the shit he does. She's not as excited about it as Julius, Néo and Lara but she definitely won't stop him or rat him out, she's too intrigued by it xD)
Natalie | Cathedral | Elara
"It's fine," she told her. With a slight chuckle she added. "I'm not quite there yet myself, I still can't see Silke as an equal instead of someone superior." With a sympathetic smile she nodded. While she didn't know the details she had heard about some taguel kid who had attacked a knight and spooked a student. "Things will get better for you, I hope," she said. It was only their first month here so a lot could change. Hopefully for the better. "Our classmates don't seem so bad for the most part, right?" At Elara's question she too glanced at the statues. "Things are going well for now. I'm finally done with the research mother and father asked me for so I can focus more on other things now. It won't be an easy year so I better do my best," she said, referring to both the missions and her attempts of hiding her lack of faith magic from the other students. As she thought about the missions though she gave Elara a concerned look. "Will you be alright? I heard the academy will ask a lot of us."
Néo | Stables | Megumi
Good, at least she didn't recognize that name. So there was a good chance she also hadn't heard of his father. Still, she had asked him where he had lived before coming to the academy and even if he tried to lie to her she would find out eventually. He wouldn't put it past Ambrose to mention something like that to others. So he just grimaced and answered her question. "Faerghus," he said with disgust but also some shame. What kind of Taguel, or any self-respecting person from Sreng, actually lived in a country they had so many conflicts with? "For about a year. Before that me and my parents lived in Sreng. Well, until they decided to leave our tribe." When she confirmed her name he nodded. "I think I've heard about you. Is your last name Yoshino? Our tribe is pretty small but we do have some contact with the other tribes." Not that any of the tribes would know about him, his tribe probably acted like he and his family had never existed.

Pierce-Library-Occult Club "I'm sure you won't need to use any," Peirce said. "And if we come across anywhere that we need to do magic one of us can cast it." He did hope that Rekka was right and Julius's skill in getting out of trouble would be able to aid them in this endeavor with how many rules they would be breaking tonight. "So are you guys ready for the battle at the end of the week though?" While he felt prepared, some of his classmates made him feel like they might not stand a decent chance. (*couch*jason*cough* sorry allergies)
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar Juris gave a nod of confirmation. "Yea that's me," he said, his ears perked up at Agnar's offer. "That's what I'm aiming for, if it's alright with you. I'll maybe try my beastform in a bit, want to make sure I can get enough practice fighting with a weapon first." While he had enough experience back home, it was vastly different to the terrian and temperature of Fodlan.
Alastair-Dining Hall-Luca Alastair chuckled a bit. "I might have to avoid you in the battle then, I don't think I'll be much of a match to you," he said. While he already planned to avoid most of the other students, and possibly follow a classmate around that he felt would better from having support from a dancer, and it wasn't like his professor would really try force him into combat.
Elara-Cathedral-Natille Elara nodded in agreement, it was hard to not treat Silke differently, she was going to be the next empress after all. "I'm glad ypu are able to figure things out," she said with a smile to her. "I'll be here to help as much as I can if you ever need it." Thinking over the rest of their classmates she had gotten to interact with a few of them, and the ones she had didn't seem so bad. "They seem like they will be fun to get to know." She blinked at her last question, thinking it over. "I'm not sure, I'll try my best and maybe I'll get used to the missions we get, or at the very east be able to handle what would be expected of us." But for now? No she really didn't feel like she would be fine, but it was at least safe here.
Neason-Sauna-Nora Neaosn looked to the tree and back to her. "You mean you don't have trees that spontaneously combust in the empire? It's a very serious problem for the alliance," he said, granted it was a complete lie. Hiding a hand behind his back he quickly set off another fire spell and another tree caught on fire. "See?" He mulled over her question as he glanced to the two trees. "I mean, probably not? As long as I don't get caught!" Sides no one has gotten hurt....yet, so it was fairly harmless right now! "I'm glad I'm getting a reputation though! Means I get to blast people away when I do things unexpected!"

Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
"I'm excited, I hope everyone can have fun and show of what they've been training." Rekka wasn't super competitive, but he had been training as well so he might as well show off a bit as well. Showing off how reliable Kitsune were was important to him "I have some thoughts on who is going to win, but I'd better not speak it into existence." he laughed.
Luca | Dining Hall | with Alastair
"I'd have a hard time hitting you, so avoiding each other might be for the best." Luca nodded "I'd hate to damage that cute face of yours." he added, because he couldn't go ten seconds without flirting. Fighting some ugly, in both face and personality, bandits was easy. Fighting his classmates he'd try his best not to attack the face.
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
"I see." Megumi hummed, recognizing the name. Not that she'd ever visited any other tribes. Her ears perked up slightly when he spoke her last name "That's right. My mother is the head of our tribe, so it's likely she's visited or interacted with yours." she tapped a foot on the ground as she thought "It's good to see another Taguel, I was getting tired of dealing with humans." her tone gave away her dislike.
Silke | Training Grounds | with Callan
Silkes attention snapped away from the two talking and zeroed in on Callan "Yo!" she greeted, clapping him on the shoulder "I'm not sure, but we've had a lot of students coming in late so that could be why you haven't seen him." she grinned "The more the merrier! Wolfskin are powerful warriors, I hope I can go against him in battle." her gaze drifted to Callans sword "Speaking of, I saw you doing some interesting moves."

Julius | Library | Occult Club"I sure hope so," he laughed. "We're already taking a big risk by sneaking around at night so let's not add even more hazards." When Pierce mentioned the mock battle he, too, got excited. It would be embarrassing but he couldn't deny that it also would be kind of fun. At the very least it would be interesting to see all the students in action. While it was only the beginning of the year and everyone would grow stronger it was still valuable information. "Well, we'll be doing our best but I guess the same goes for you too," he said. "We're not gonna make it easy though. We may not be as intense as you guys" he nodded to Grimm "and from what I've heard your class is pretty tough too" he directed at Pierce "but you'll be in for some surprises. The Golden Deer won't give up without a fight, that's for sure." Callan | Training Grounds | SilkeCallan ducked his head a little but resisted the urge to step back. When she grinned he relaxed a little but still wasn't sure how to act around the Eagles' house leader. "Maybe that's it," he agreed at her suggestion. "I think I heard there was a Wolfskin in our class too but I haven't really listened to what was said about any students that are coming late outside of the Deer." He glanced over at Juris and Agnar before looking back at Silke again. "I've only seen Rieka so far and she seems quite strong," he said. "This one looks pretty tough too." He hoped he didn't have to fight any of the beastkin at the mock battle, especially if they were going to use their beastforms. Silke didn't give him much time to worry about that though. He briefly glanced at his sword and gave a hesitant nod. "Uh... thanks. It's really difficult though." He chuckled a little and gave a small embarrassed smile. "That's on me for trying to learn a more advanced combat art as a beginner though." Not wanting to be seen as weird for choosing something difficult like that when he was still inexperienced he quickly explained "But I can't help it, when I saw that there's a way to use magic on a weapon like that I just had to look into it!" Agnar | Training Grounds | Juris
"Alright, so only swords for now," he said. He stepped away from the training dummy and walked over to an area where they had more space, then he nodded to Juris. "I don't think I've ever met a Wolfskin from your tribe so this is gonna be interesting." He had gotten to train with Rieka sometimes during class but from what she had said Juris was from a different tribe and a pretty secluded one at that. "Ready when you are," he told the wolfskin and moved slightly to get into a proper stance.
Nora | Sauna | Neason
"We don't, unfortunately," she replied, still amused. It was clear she didn't believe him but she also didn't care enough to refute him. Where would be the fun in that? "Our trees haven't evolved this far." It was kind of fascinating though how little this guy was acting like a house leader, let alone a noble. Sure, Silke didn't behave much like a future empress either but at least most who met her would still know what she was. Neason on the other hand didn't seem like a noble at all and only the yellow cape and his last name gave it away. At his next words she laughed and shook her head. Then she looked over at the two trees. "I must say, I'm kind of intrigued," she said. "I also use fire spells and have thrown them at things I wasn't supposed to. Accidentally though," she added and glanced at him. "But in my experience it takes a bit longer for a tree to catch on fire like that. Just how do you do that?"
Natalie | Cathedral | Elara
"Thank you," she said, smiling at Elara's reassurance. "I really appreciate it. But the same goes for you too. There's only so much I can do of course but let me know if I can help you." At her friend's words about their classmates she nodded, glad that she agreed and would be able to get along with them. Some were more difficult to deal with but Natalie wasn't too bothered by that. It had only been a little over two weeks since the year has begun and while some students had an easy time befriending others some needed more time than that to be comfortable enough around their classmates. While she herself had no real issues with the other Eagles and liked most of them she knew it would take her some time to trust them and see them as friends. It made her all the more grateful that she and Elara attended the academy during the same year. "They really do, don't they? It makes me actually look forward to fighting alongside everyone on the last day of this month," she said. "I really want for our class to win and it looks like we have pretty good chances, considering how strong some of us are." At Elara's response to her concern about the missions she nodded. "I'm not sure if this is really something you should have to get used to, considering what they are asking of us, so try not to focus too much on that. You're right to try to be able to handle it though. If it helps we can team up for our first mission or see if one of our classmates can work with you. It's not much but it might make it slightly more tolerable for you."
Néo | Stables | MegumiRelieved that she didn't seem to judge him for his family having left their tribe or for living in Faerghus he relaxed his stance a little. "So you're gonna be your tribe's next leader one day?" he asked. "That's pretty cool. But I guess it's also a big responsibility so I don't envy you." While it did impress him he wasn't going to treat Megumi any differently now that he knew though. He wasn't one to care all that much about someone's standing. The only thing that mattered in his opinion was if someone was a beastkin and if they did something to make him dislike them. And so far Megumi was one of the few people here, another being Rieka, he had some respect for. When interacting with them he didn't find it too difficult to behave. At Megumi's comment about dealing with humans he nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I'm not a fan either," he said. "Wish we didn't have to deal with them. I don't know how the others can stand it." He snorted at that. "The other beastkin here are alright and I wanna learn more about the Kitsune and Wolfskin but it's weird how they can just accept all those humans. So good to know I'm not the only one here who can't stand this place."

Elara-Cathedral-Natille Elara offered a nod to her thanks, a lot more relaxed around her. "I'll take you up on that, it might be good for us both." She thought over her words, while it was true they seemed to have good odds at winning, and from what she had seen, it didn't seem like the other houses did stand much of a chance, the Deer seemed to disorganized, and the Lions while they did have the most threat, they also didn't seem to be able to hold grounds compared to where her classmates stood in terms of skill. She brightened up a bit at Natille's words. "I would love that if you are truly willing to do so." While she didn't mind if it ended up being one of her other classmates, as she was sure she would be fully used to everyone by the time their real missions started up, it right now gave her a bit more comfort at the thought of at least for the first mission teaming up with her friend.
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar "Hopefully I meet any expectations you have then," he said as he moved to get into position. He wanted to train against the other wolfskin, Rieka, wanting to test and see how wolfskin from her tribe trained. Flicking his tail in thought as he studied Agnar for a bit before moving I'm, first aiming for a lower strike, towards one of Agnar's hips, before changing to swipe his blade upwards towards the opposite shoulder of the hip he aimed for.
Pierce-Library-Occult Club "Let me guess, you guys plan to set the field on fire," he asked looking to Julius. "But yea my house will definitely be able to hold our own pretty well, I can speak for a majority of my house when I say that." The only one he truly had doubts about was Jason, as the boy even struggled in the basic training that Konstantin had them do. "But yea, hopefully we are able to find this room though, so all our searching won't be for waste." He hated the idea of all their searching around for information will be for nothing if the room didn't truly exist.
Neason-Sauna-Nora Neason thought over her question, looking back to the trees. "Hmm bummer though, it really is a cool sight to see," he said. "Though as for that....I'm not really sure if I'm honest!! Searc says it's because I don't think before doing things nor use a tome for it, and just kinda throw a spell and just hope it works?" In all honesty he just never wanted to try hard in magic, as despite his ability with it, he had hoped when he was younger might somehow magically make his family reconsider Searc as the heir, and that things would get better, but instead it just made their father more driven to keep them apart. "But I mean it's not to big a deal right? I mean I can still make a spell happen? Not how it's intended, but it happens." Thinking back to that teacher he had put in a tree during a failed Rescue spell, but in his opinion she had gotten rescued...in a sense.
Alastair-Dining Hall-Luca "Would be a shame if anything happened to yours as well," he replied casually. "How else would you be able to win the hearts of others?" He took a bite out of his food as he thought. So far the dancers of Fodlan were rather different from the ones in his village back home, though it was mostly a female dominated area, and the males that choose it were often ridiculed, he was glad Fodlan allowed anyone to partake in the area, as it helped him feel more comfortable.

Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
Rekka laughed "If it comes down to it, I can set the field on fire." though he hoped they'd be able to show their skill as a class without resorting to that. His mind was quickly drawn away from the upcoming fight at the mention of the room. Sure, Rekka liked a good scuffle, but the mystery of the room was for more interesting that at the moment. He tilted his head a little and nodded "I think we'll find it! The myth had to have come from somewhere."
Luca | Dining Hall | with Alastair
"So true. My personality is fantastic as well, but having a good face to complete it is important." he agreed, running a hand through his hair. Alastair was nice to talk to, considering he didn't scoff or roll his eyes like some others might. It did Lucas' confidence good to have someone easily agree with him. He poked at his unfinished food, seemingly uninterested in finishing it now he had someone to chat with "Have you had the chance to watch combat practice? Anyone I should avoid?" as much as he liked Megumi, he did think he'd be avoiding her. The way she tore apart those bandits made him think she wouldn't care about adding a few new openings in his face.
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
Megumi nodded "I may be the next leader, but that's what got me into this mess. My mother wants me to start learning about humans and other beastkin so they're easier to work with in the future." just the idea made her cringe. Getting along with humans was hard, and it wasn't like she was enjoying her time here. If anything this would make her more likely to avoid humans in the future "I haven't interacted with many of the other beastkin, they're always surrounded by humans."
Silke | Training Grounds | with Callan
"Learning an advanced skill is something to be proud of! You're going out of your way to learn something without the help of someone to guide you." Silke insisted "I'm quite impressed with your drive to learn. If you can get that mastered before we fight as classes, I may just have to keep an eye out for you." she laughed heartily. As a close combat fighter she was most at risk to people who used ranged magic and ranged weapons, but she never backed down from a battle and was more than eager to test her skills.

Julius | Library | Occult ClubJulius grinned at Pierce's guess. "Oh, we're not planning it but yeah, you should probably expect some fire." He then glanced at Rekka and gave him a playful nudge. "The offer's appreciated but I'm sure Neason got that covered. Whether he plans to or not," he laughed. The mock battle would definitely be interesting, even if the Deer stood no chance. Pierce had just confirmed that the Lions could hold their own and most students knew how serious the Eagles were about winning. When their conversation went back to the hidden room again he, too, nodded. "I'm sure we'll find something. While the rumors we've heard are different in what is hidden they're the same otherwise. So at least the 'secret room' part should be true," he said. "I just hope we can get inside if we find it. Would be a shame if they have sealed it off entirely." Callan | Training Grounds | Silke
"I guess so..." despite of not being too sure about that he smiled a little. "While some guidance wouldn't hurt I wouldn't want to bother them. Besides, I kinda want to see how far I can get on my own." At her next words he gave a nervous chuckle and shook his head. No way he would ever stand a chance against someone like Silke, especially not now. "Oh, I really want to master this as soon as possible but it probably takes longer than that. But yeah, I want to use it in a battle like that once I've mastered it." While the mock battle was too soon for that Callan hoped to master it until the next great battle between the houses or maybe even one of the smaller tournaments held every month. "Besides, I can't neglect my regular training, right? I hope to be somewhat useful for the mock battle. There are so many strong opponents! Not just you but also those guys I joined for that small bandit mission the other day. I feel like most of them and I can respect each other so I'd hate to disappoint them by getting beaten too easily." Agnar | Training Grounds | Juris
"Likewise," he said with a nod. While he was confident in his skills he had no way of telling how good his opponent was, today's lesson having been the first time he's gotten a glimpse of the wolfskin's abilities. He had been more focused on his training partner though so he hadn't seen too much of Juris. Now would be the first time he would really see his skills for himself. As the wolfskin moved in Agnar took half a step back so he could block the lower strike but while he did watch his opponent's sword he mainly focused on Juris himself, though someone inexperienced would have thought he was only keeping an eye on the weapon and merely glancing at the opponent occasionally by the way he looked. He slightly brought his sword up while watching Juris' movements and when the wolfskin suddenly changed his lower strike to swipe upwards Agnar jumped back, not enough that he would evade the attack but so he could swing his own sword better. He, too, swiped upwards but in an angle that would cut the wolfskin's swipe and block it. For a moment he slowly but forcefully pushed against Juris' sword, as if trying to either get him to drop his weapon or to force him back. Then he suddenly drew back, turned slightly and went in for a swift downwards swipe from the side.
(I'd say they can block or dodge each others attacks for a bit. You decide when Juris is done with trying out swords and wants to spar in his beastform ^^)
Nora | Sauna | Neason
For a moment Nora just stared at him. Surely he wasn't serious? While it wasn't forbidden to cast magic without a tome when one hadn't mastered the spell yet it was just common sense not to do so. Most people wouldn't attempt this outside of training and especially not in an actual battle. There would be too much going on for one to properly focus on a spell that they were still learning and the results could be unpredictable. "I suppose that would explain it," she finally said. "You're only doing this around the monastery though, right? If you guys cast spells like that at the mock battle we'll have to prepare for the worst." At her last remark she cracked a smile. "Good to know your House is more threatening than we thought," she joked. While she really did not expect much from the Deer she also wouldn't dismiss them entirely. Most of them seemed to be lacking experience and would grow more skilled over the course of the year. But then again the Eagles wouldn't slack off either so who knew what things would look like at the next battle between the houses?
"I must say though, both you and Silke are much different from what one would expect from a house leader," she said after a moment, giving him a thoughtful look. "I'm not complaining of course, I think it's great that you two can act so casually around others." She thought back to their first day at the monastery, when she had first met Neason and his brother at the noble dorms. Back then he had made it quite clear what he thought about the importance, or lack thereof, of different standings and of those who had a problem with this academy's policy of nobles and commoners being equal here. "I hope no one in your house is giving you a hard time for it. None of my classmates thinks any less of Silke just because she doesn't care about our standing but is it the same with you in the Deer?" She hadn't talked to many of the Golden Deer yet but from what she had seen the nobles there didn't act all high and mighty around their commoner classmates either.
Natalie | Cathedral | Elara
"Then it's settled," she said with a nod. "Unless of course it doesn't work with the plan. But I doubt that will be the case." The first mission wouldn't be so difficult that they would both have to team up with one of their stronger classmates. Besides, they would be nearby anyway and could still help them out if necessary. They wouldn't go on their first mission until the end of next month either so both she and Elara had enough time to properly prepare for it. Natalie herself would focus on her swordsmanship for the most part and, even though she didn't like it, would also work on her dark magic. "We may not be the biggest threat on the battlefield but strength isn't everything," she told her. "As long as we know each other's abilities we should do well as a team."
Néo | Stables | Megumi
"Makes sense I guess," he said, nodding at her explanation. "Probably doesn't hurt to get to understand the other beastkin. Don't see why we should have to get along with humans though. None of our tribes need them for anything, we're fine on our own. And they have nothing in common with us anyway. At least the other beastkin kinda get us." At Megumi's remark about the other beastkin always being surrounded by humans he snorted. "I just don't get how they can tolerate them. Some are even curious about their way of life! What's there to admire? Some of those humans are so wimpy they'd probably run off crying on their first mission because 'oh no, violence bad!'" He let out an annoyed huff and shook his head, remembering his conversation with Elara. "Really don't see how the others can respect the humans. Especially considering what Ambrose did to that one wolfskin." He himself had found out about that only recently and it only made him despise the knight even more. "You probably haven't heard about that yet since he's not in your class but apparently that idiot had locked that poor guy in the kennel until today."

reply save) Pierce-Library-Occult Club Pierce raised an eyebrow to the Deer's comments, it only furthering convincing Pierce of their house leader's incompetence, the thought of Neason made the Lions student want to scoff, Neason needed to act like a noble. He was happy as the conversation progressed to the room. "I'm sure there would be ways to get it unsealed if that is the case, we might need to come up with a plan though, just so we can ensure that we don't get caught if we need to use a spell or the such."
Alastair-Dining Hall-Luca Alastair chuckled a bit, Luca was definitely a nice change of pace compared to his more battle driven classmates. Thinking over his question, as he ate thinking over his classmates. "For sure Silke and Grimm, those two are some of the more driven when it comes to training, and probably Vincent. Otherwise I think you should do fine on your own with the others," he said. "Megumi would also probably be one to avoid, I haven't really seen her practice much, but she seems like a threat." But for the rest of his house, they seemed like they would be manageable to take on. "I just hope the battle doesn't take to long." He wasn't one for fights, and he had recently been trying to befriend the cats of the monastery, and one orange one had been particularly stubborn and he much rather spend his time trying to win the feline's friendship then being on the battle field. "For the Lions though I imagine Fion will be a rather tough opponent? He's the prince right?"
Elara-Cathedral-Natille Elara smiled and gave Natallie a quick hug, it eased her a lot to hear that it was settled between the two of them. She smiled and nodded to her words. "Right," she agreed with her statement, and sides even if she was just offering support, she could still be useful on the field by helping those that truly stood a chance to fight. "I feel a little better about this mock battle." While she was still anxious over the mission next month, surely it wouldn't be as nerve racking by the time it finally did show up.
Neason-Sauna-Nora Neason kept his usual grin in the small silence that formed. He truly didn't mind doing the things he wasn't supposed to, especially now that he was out of the supervision of his parents, finally able to act how he wants, but his grin seemed to grow at her words. "Only around the monastery and back home, but oh gosh!!! I never even thought of doing it during the mock battle!!! Thanks for the idea," he said, while it very well wasn't meant to be one, the boy took it as one, it would surely help them out, as after all she was correct, they did lack experience, so what better way to make up for it then chaos! While he hoped by some miracle they could pull off a win for the mock battle, it seemed to be very unlikely. Blinking at her next words he thought it over.
"Sorry," he apologized to her, shifting on his feet slightly, perking back up, his smile returning once again at the next set of words. It was true and he still stuck by his words that day, status or not, everyone was equal to him, as no one could control their birth. Thinking over her question, did his housemates not enjoy his casualness around them? Did they take issues? Rubbing the back of his head as he thought, before giving a shrug and another grin. "No, no one seems to have issues with it! At least I think, I haven't really heard any complaints at least?"
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar Juris was excited to spar, and so far Agnar was proving to be a great opponent. Stepping back as he got his weapon pushed back. His ear twitching as he watched the other student. Moving to get a bit more distance between them, trying his best to avoid the upward strike. Swiping out his leg, a small cloud of dust got kicked up, cloaking him, before a large arm swiped out at Agnar, as Juris abandoned the sword to turn into his beastform. It was different fighting in Fodlan compared to Albinea, in regards to fighting in his beastform, and he was determined to master the terrian of his temporary home.

Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
Rekka nodded along excitedly. There was no doubt in his mind that they'd figure it out. Why'd they seal up a room that interesting anyways? What a waste that would be! "Ahhh I want to get started soon." he sighed wistfully, glancing at a nearby clock. Even if they didn't find the room, he was really happy to be spending time with friends. Coming to this school and making friends with humans was great, he was having fun.
Luca | Dining Hall | with Alastair
"Megumi is quite the fighter! She came with us on our little mission, though unfortunately she wasn't interested in chatting with me." he sighed. Though even Luca wasn't so crazy he'd try starting something with her after that battle. She had torn apart those bandits, and while he could handle the sight and smell of blood he wasn't about to bother a Taguel covered in it. He nodded when Fion was mentioned "Fions good with a sword from what I've seen! He's quiet as well, but that's just part of his charm."
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
Megumi snorted and nodded in agreement at Neos words. Though her expression quickly went from agreeable to angry when she heard about Ambrose "He did what?!" she snarled, eyes narrowing and ears going back "And the school did nothing? Not that I expect much from a human run institute. However that should be against the agreement. They don't deserve to have beastkin in their midst." the next time she saw that useless human she was going to tear his head off. At least she'd really think hard about doing it. Actually doing so at this point would probably get her arrested.
Silke | Training Grounds | with Callan
"Indeed, daily training is important to keeping your mind and body sharp." Silke agreed. When he brought up the bandits her eyes gleamed "I heard about that mission. I can't believe they didn't invite me!" she complained, pouting "I would have been more than enough to destroy a few bandits! Not that I doubt the group that went, you all returned without damage." though she did think she could have handled it on her own. Whether or not that was true was to be seen. Her confidence was the best thing about her, and also the worst at times "How did the battle go? I assume there was no trouble, or I probably would have heard about it."

Julius | Library | Occult ClubJulius nodded at that. While it was just a possibility and the room, if it even existed, probably wasn't sealed it was still something they would have to think about. "Better to plan for it now even if we don't need it than to head over there with no plan and having to give up." At Rekka's words he too briefly glanced at the clock. "Not much longer. We still have to wait for a while but we'll head over pretty soon so we can hide there until it's safe to get started." He trusted that Grimm was right about that being a good enough hiding place for the four of them. "But yeah, if the room or the way to it is blocked or sealed in some way we need some ways to get in without alerting anyone or leaving evidence behind. And at least one of us will have to keep watch in case someone decides to walk around that area. We know when and where the knights are patrolling but we can't predict whether or not someone takes a late night stroll around the monastery." While the students had been told they were not supposed to be outside at night that rule did not apply to the staff so they had to be careful to not run into anyone like that. Callan | Training Grounds | Silke
(Silke, they did invite you. Kind of. Ambrose asked the whole class for some volunteers xD)
"Yeah, they wouldn't have been much of a challenge for you. I mean, even I could hold my own against them," he added with a awkward laugh. At her question about the battle itself he hesitated, not really having expected someone to ask him about it. But then again he had kinda brought it up so he supposed he shouldn't be surprised. "Oh uhm... it went well enough, I guess," he said. "There were five bandits but we didn't fight all of them at once. Ambrose had us split up to scout the area first. Imrie and I got ambushed by one of those bandits but dealt with him pretty easily. He was intimidating but I guess he underestimated us. We worked together pretty well." Still a bit hesitant and nervous at first but soon feeling less and less uneasy Callan continued to talk about the mission. He even got excited when he recounted how he and Imrie had taken down the bandit, the Lion using her fire magic in such a way that it always left the bandit open to his attacks, and Callan attacking him first with a sword and finally with a dark spell, always dodging the bandit's attempts to hit back, mostly thanks to Imrie's fire magic.
"We then both threw spells at him and he couldn't block either of them." Now as he recounted that he did feel a bit proud of their first fight, even smiling a little. He still wasn't entirely comfortable talking about it and did start to feel uneasy recalling his first kill but quickly continued, not wanting Silke to think of him as squeamish, especially after she had praised his dedication. "After that we went to look for the others. They were dealing with two bandits when we got there and then a third one showed up. I don't think the two grunts were much stronger than the first bandit but their leader was pretty skilled and the three of them had really good teamwork. I guess we still need to work on that." The more he told Silke about the battle the more excited he got. He was too focused on not leaving out anything important now.
"We only got a chance to take them down when their leader stopped firing so many arrows at us. I'm not sure what exactly she was trying to do but she did call it their 'final attack' and I think she charged an arrow for it. It did give us a chance to finally attack them ourselves though. Imrie and I took down one grunt, mostly with magic but Imrie finished him of with her sword. Megumi dealt with that other grunt by herself. You should have seen her! She didn't even have a weapon! Her beastform really is something else. Agnar and Luca took out their leader. I didn't see the whole thing because I was fighting that grunt but Luca probably threw a knife to hinder her and Agnar finished her by throwing a hatchet." He paused for a second. "Not sure where he got it though. I know he didn't take one with him when we left the monastery. Maybe he and Luca took down another bandit before? I guess that makes sense. I only saw four bandits and there were supposed to be five. And there's no way Ambrose did anything useful like fighting one of them!" He snorted and shook his head at the last part but quickly dropped his gaze. "Ah, sorry, I probably shouldn't talk about a knight like that. And you were asking about the battle, not some speculation." Making snide remarks about Ambrose with the other Bandit Bashers was one thing, at least they shared his disdain for him, but the other students hadn't seen the knight's incompetence and probably had some respect for him.
Agnar | Training Grounds | Juris
Agnar withdrew when Juris moved to avoid his sword and almost immediately went in for another attack, still keeping a close eye on his opponent's movements. He jumped back when Juris swiped out his leg, enough to avoid getting hit by. The cloud of dust however surprised him and he quickly brought up his arms in front of his face to at least avoid the worst of it. He was used to snow and in his village he was among those who weren't too bothered by snowstorms, being able to still see more than most. It also wasn't rare for animals and demonic beasts to kick up snow, nor for some of his sparring partners back home. He could deal with those well enough. Dust, on the other hand, wasn't something he had seen in battle much and he hadn't expected the wolfskin to make use of it. He took another step back and sneezed, before bringing up his sword to block, right as Juris swiped out at him. Having been caught off guard by the cloud of dust Agnar hadn't had much time to react but he did expect his opponent to strike while he was distracted. He had raised his sword just in time to protect himself though the force behind the attack was unexpected. Agnar stumbled back, nearly losing grip of the sword but managed to hold onto it, and immediately went into a defensive stance. He cracked a small smile at the sight of Juris' beastform and gave a nod of acknowledgement. "Not a bad technique," he said, adjusting his stance a little to be more ready for the wolfskin's next attack. "I'll have to keep that in mind." No snow didn't mean that someone couldn't make use of other things to conceal themselves or distract or temporarily blind an opponent after all and here in Fódlan Agnar would have to watch out for those ways too. Maybe he would go over his notes about the different kinds of terrain again to be better able to spot those options. That would have to wait until later though. For now he had a sparring match to focus on.
Nora | Sauna | Neason
Seeing how her remark has only encouraged Neason to actually use his magic during the mock battle Nora decided to not tell anyone about this conversation. She would warn her classmates about the lunatic Deer but they didn't need to know that she was partly responsible for whatever he would do at the mock battle. "Your class will be the talk of the school for weeks if you do that, even if you won't win," she snorted. If today was any indication of Neason's skills the mock battle would be even more interesting than initially expected. Most of the Deer were still inexperienced and unlike the Lions they didn't have a very sensible house leader. She still fully expected them to do badly, at least compared to the Eagles and the Lions, but talking with Neason (and seeing his questionable abilities with magic) also made it clear that while the Deer would most likely lose they would also be the most unpredictable house. She was excited to see just how chaotic things would be thanks to them and how well she and her classmates could deal with... whatever disaster Neason would bring upon them. Upon hearing that no one in the Deer seemed to have any issues with the way he carried himself Nora smiled approvingly. "So they're not telling you to be more 'mature', have more 'dignity' or act 'respectable', huh? Glad to hear it," she said. "I know there are some expectations that come with being a noble so it's good to know that neither of our classmates seem to mind how you or Silke go about this. I'm not too fond of those expectations myself but there's even more expected out of the house leaders I suppose. But at least they're discouraging the whole social status thing here, even if not everyone acts accordingly. Some just care too much about their standing." She shrugged. "I for one would rather follow a leader who isn't unapproachable and who isn't above working alongside or talking with commoners and lesser nobles than one who is either put on a pedestal or thinks everyone is beneath them but I guess to some it's more important that their leader fits their image of a good and proper noble."
Natalie | Cathedral | Elara
When her friend gave her a quick hug Natalie patted her lightly on her back, feeling a little awkward but also not minding it either. While she wasn't one to initiate hugs or other shows of affection with her friends, unless she was trying to comfort them when they were really upset, she didn't dislike them. "It may not get much easier even after our first mission but a little support can go a long way," she said as she stepped back. At Elara's statement about the mock battle she smiled and nodded encouragingly. "Just remember that the mock battle is so we can learn about our strengths as individuals and as a team first and foremost. Winning is nice but it's not the most important thing. Not that I have any doubt that our house will have the greatest chance," she added with a slight grin. She glanced at the statues of the four saints and then towards the altar outside the smaller room. "By the way, did you come here for a specific reason? Sorry if I've kept you from that. I assume you were going to pray to the Goddess or one of the saints? We should probably head back soon, it's getting late. But do what you came here for first."
Néo | Stables | Megumi
"They are punishing him but I doubt they'll do much," he snorted. "He seems to hate wolfskin but apparently no one bothered to make sure he doesn't try anything funny." Why Ambrose did hate wolfskin though he didn't know and he was not going to ask him about it. The knight probably had a dumb reason anyway. "Next time I see him I'll do more than just chase him around the courtyard," he snarled. "But yeah, they don't deserve to have our kind here," he agreed. "Stuff like that really makes me wanna go back to Sreng even more. We don't belong in Fódlan, no matter what anyone says." He shook his head and scowled. "Sucks that we're stuck here for now. At least you'll be back in Sreng in a year but man, that's still such a long time!"

resave for list/for replies) Pierce-Library-Occult Club Pierce mulled it over in thought to himself. "We should yea," he agreed. If they could plan for any type of situation it would aid in them not being caught by anyone, but Julius had a point of trying to not be caught should someone decide to take a night walk, but hopefully with how soon the mock battle would be, it would be a low chance since people might be sleeping to have energy for the battle. "I would say when we find it, if we have two work to get it open and two of us on look out would help dissuade getting into trouble, as two people being out together might help prevent suspicion since I heard there was the leniency as long as you have someone with you when you are out at night." He glanced to Grimm, he had faith the Black Eagles student knew what he was talking about with the room.
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar While in Juris's opinion the trick was far better with snow, though he was probably biased towards his home country, he had taken a gamble that he could use the dust for the same effect, and to his delight he could. He would need to look more into terrians to be able to use his ability as best he could. He cracked the best he could of a smile in his beast form, though you could hardly call it a smile. "I've got quite a few," he commented and went in for another attack aiming towards Agnar's legs and the ground, aiming to get the boy off balance. Before a burst of dust kicked up once more and he rolled back to get a hold of his abandoned weapon. While he planned to fight in both forms, he also wanted to get better with changing between each form, to be able to change quick in battle to depend on the opponent.
Neason-Sauna-Nora Neason beamed with a grin to her. "I'm sure we will do amazing in the mock battle, we might even win it," he said. He had faith in his classmates, and if Neason did pull a few of his tricks and maybe even got Julius to aid in it, thry could really pose a threat! While he knew next to nothing how powerful the other houses were, he decided that would be an issue for the battle to deal with. No point in worrying about it now it would be out of his control anyways....unless he and Julius decide a little more practice with magic except doing in the other classrooms...while the other students were there? (NEASON NO SCHEMING LIKE THAT)
Neason blinked at the enxt set of words. "Yea, if i wasnt in this placement i think i would prefer a leader that was approachable and not minding interacting with commoners myself," he said. He made a face at her other comments. "Only Searc, how i need to at least act my age," he said waving his hand in the air. "Cause if I can't act like a noble at least act like a 17 year old, and at least act like I deserve respect for being the house leader," Neason changed his tone a bit, imitating Searc. "It's so annoying." He shifted at her comments of a noble acting like they are on a pedestal. "I know that type all to well sadly, lots of the old geezers on the round table are like that, including some of their kids."
Alastair-Dining Hall-Luca Alastair grimaced at Luca's words, he would really need to work on staying on Megumi's good side. He did not need to turn out like those bandits thank you very much. He perked up about Fion. A smile tugging to his lips. "I have to agree with you there, his quietness does give him a very nice charm. Quiet guys just have an intriguing charm to them." There had been quite a few quiet boys back in his village back home that had caught Alastair's eye.
Elara-Cathedral-Natalie Elara gave a nod to her friend's words. While she wasn't looking forward to the missions to come, Natalie's words were a great comfort to her. She blinked at the other girl's comments on the mock battle, looking to the ground for a few beats thinking over what she had said. "I'll keep it in mind during the battle," she said, offer8ng a smile as she meet the other's gaze. She also doubted that their house would lose, there was still that fear of the what if that often plagued her on things. She glanced to the statutes and back to the alter. "Right," she said, remembering why she had come. Bowing to her friend. "I won't take long I promise!" She rushed the last bit out before heading out to the alter to pray to the Goddess.

boop so this stays on participated :] ) Rekka | Library | with Occult Club
"I can keep an eye, or ear, out for anyone walking by. My hearing may not be as good as a Taguels, but it is better than a humans." he nodded "Though I can't say how much help I'd be opening a door, unless you want me to break or burn it down." which obviously they would not be doing in this situation. Maybe Rekka outta find someone that was good at picking locks and have them teach him. He was here to learn after all, even if what he was learning wasn't exactly legal.
Luca | Dining Hall | with Alastair
"Talkative guys have a charm as well, no?" Luca asked, raising an eyebrow and leaning in slightly "Please say yes, I think I may be crushed if you disliked chatty people." he placed a hand on his chest "Of course I'm not talking about those who talk while having nothing to say, I do believe those types could stand to speak less." of course he wasn't that type at all. Nope. Luca believed everything he said ever was important. He was an important person... in his own head.
Megumi | Stables | with Neo
She had to agree, a year didn't feel so long when you weren't stuck in a school full of humans. But now that she was here she realized just how long of a year it was going to be. Megumi sighed and nodded in agreement "Indeed, I am just trying to keep my head down and get it over with. Once I return I will make sure to give my mother nothing but the truth of how humans are. Especially Ambrose, if he's allowed to hate our kind so openly what does that mean for those who pretend to stand us? It's simply not safe." not that she wasn't positive she could handle herself, but she'd seen other beastkin interacting with humans they were the ones who'd get hurt.
Silke | Training Grounds | with Callan
Silke listened with interest, letting him speak. She'd occasionally throw in a comment or two, mostly about wanting to challenge just about anyone who'd done a cool move. She wondered if she could convince Megumi to a fight, the Taguel was in her house after all. Even the prickly bunny wouldn't turn down a challenge. Probably. She actually hadn't talked to her much. When Callan brought up Ambrose Silke laughed "You shouldn't hold back, if a knight can't take criticism they wouldn't be worthy of their title!" she crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head "Nonetheless, it seems like you guys did well! I'm impressed. I hope we can battle together at some point. I would like to see your skills in action." the might run across each other when the houses were battling, but fighting against someone wasn't quite the same as fighting at someones side if you wanted to get a good look at their skills.

Julius | Library | Occult Club"Yeah, that should work," he said. "And you're right, our professor mentioned something like that too. That we should go in pairs if we have to be out at night." With a small grin he added "Though I think they still don't want us outside just because we can. It's probably meant for errands and stuff. Then again he didn't say we're not allowed to do that for no actual reason so really, we're not breaking any rules that way and if we do it's their fault for not being specific enough." At Rekka's suggestion he chuckled. "Hm, I guess you could burn it down. Neason would be the first suspect for anything fire-related after all so we'd be safe. But if they interrogate him they'd find out soon enough that someone else did it and I really don't want to have to explain to Neason why we go around breaking rules without him." He let out a fake sigh of disappointment. "So I guess you're on guard duty. I can join you if I'm not needed for anything else. I already have a lot of experience in keeping watch while doing something forbidden." Callan | Training Grounds | Silke
Callan gave a hesitant nod as Silke didn't reprimand him for talking about a knight like that and then grinned a little. "I guess you've got a point," he said. "Alright, in that case: he was useless, didn't fight at all and couldn't even come up with a believable excuse." He let out a small chuckle and quickly glanced over his shoulder. It would be just his luck to suddenly find Ambrose standing right behind him while he was telling a fellow student about the knight's uselessness. Thankfully that wasn't the case. The only thing he caught a glance of was Juris and Agnar and those two had been here at the training grounds even before Callan had approached Silke. "Honestly, I think he's kinda weird," he continued with a shrug. "I never expected him to ask us to come up with a team name." He spoke the last two words in mock horror and shuddered. At Silke's next words he shook his head slightly but also couldn't help but smile. "Uh, thanks. I don't know if it would be impressive for you though. You focus so much on hand to hand combat and always work on getting stronger. Physically, I mean. I'm more of a mage and sure, I also use a sword but I depend more on swift attacks and dodging rather than actual force. So I'm not sure if I could meet your expectations if we were to fight together." Then however he gave another grin and added: "Besides, unless the Eagles and Deer end up going on a mission together the only way for us to battle together is to be part of Ambrose's crazy assignments. Well, if they'll let him lead more groups like that. But trust me, you don't want that." Agnar | Training Grounds | Juris
With a slight grin Agnar gave a small nod at that comment. He had no doubt about that. So far Juris seemed like he did know a few good techniques. As the wolfskin went in for another attack Agnar quickly dropped down an did a quick roll to get out of the way and behind his opponent. In the same motion he quickly got to his feet again and spun around. Before he could do more Juris kicked up another cloud of dust and Agnar gripped his sword tighter. Instead of attacking again however his opponent, who was back in his human form now, rolled back and Agnar was forced to jump out of the way so he wouldn't get knocked over or trip over Juris. Then he immediately moved towards him again and swung his sword at him. In quick succession he went in from the left and then from the right and above, both times drawing back again before he could hit either Juris or his weapon and moving his sword in such a way that he could easily block between those two feints. Then, just as quickly, he stuck a third time, this time for real and from a different angle yet again, hoping to get an opening by his attempt to confuse Juris with the first two fake strikes. He still changed his stance a little to be ready to withdraw or block in case his opponent wasn't fooled. He also was more wary of Juris's tendency to kick up dust anytime and change his form now though so far there wasn't really much he could do about the former aside from just trying to be ready for anything.
Nora | Sauna | Neason
Nora let out a small laugh at shook her head. "I highly doubt that," she said, but neither her laugh nor her words had any malice to it. "With how dedicated we are we will take you down in no time at all." While she was indeed confident that the Deer stood no chance against the Eagles Nora did look slightly curious. "But I feel like we can't afford to slack of if we still want to beat you guys at the next great battle between our houses. I admit, right now Searc is the only one in your house I'd fear and I'm not sure whether he or Silke is stronger. But in a few months? With some experience and training the Deer could be a tough opponent for both us and the Lions."
At his response she nodded in agreement. She too would prefer a leader like that and she was glad that her house leader wasn't one of those unapproachable or high and mighty types. At Neason's next words Nora let out a chuckle. "Yes, I haven't seen much of him yet outside of the training grounds but somehow I can imagine him saying that," she said. "It seems like you both got the wrong roles. But then again Searc would be a much harder to approach leader. So at least in that regard things might be fine as they are." When Neason mentioned the 'old geezers' and their kids on the round table she let out a quiet sigh and nodded. "Dealing with them must be hard," she said. "I... have heard some not so great things about some of the Great Lords. Not all of them are like that but it still can't be easy with them." Then she quickly added "Oh, but I'm not saying our noble houses are perfect either. I think there are people like that everywhere. It's a shame that there are still many nobles who treat commoners and any noble who doesn't meet their standards like they're worthless. Or care so much about their status that they use everyone around them to either keep it or even heighten it some more. So it's a bit of a relief to see some nobles here who don't think that way."
Natalie | Cathedral | Elara
"I'm sure we still have a little time," she said at her friend's reassurance that she won't take long. She still gave a slight nod and with a patient smile she left Elara bowing to her uncommented this time. She'd get there eventually, the year was only beginning after all and Elara would have enough time to get used to Garreg Mach's little rule about nobles and commoners being equal here. And like Natalie had admitted before, she herself would also need to get used to not treating those of higher standing than hers, like Silke and the other house leaders, any different as well. As Elara headed out to the altar Natalie followed for a bit before stopping at a respectful distance, leaving her friend to her prayer. She herself had done so earlier when she had come here, right before she had gone to look at the statues of the four saints. Natalie wasn't quite sure if she should visit the cathedral so often since it was way too easy here to let her self doubts get to her but at the same time she felt it was something she had to do. What kind of believer was she if she didn't show her respect to the Goddess every day? Besides, it wasn't like she always got her gloomy thoughts here. Simply not visiting this place alone was enough to keep those at bay. Maybe she should ask Elara or one of her other classmates to accompany her next time. While she would prefer to stick with her friend she also knew that sooner or later she'd have to get used to the other students and maybe this could be a way to get closer to them. Natalie smiled a little at that thought and then looked over to the altar to see if Elara was done with her prayer to the Goddess.
Néo | Stables | Megumi
"Maybe try to find a good thing or two about this place," he suggested with a shrug. "Not that there's much of that but it makes living here slightly less unbearable. Some of the food ain't half-bad and unlike at home I actually get to practice my fighting skills every now and then." It would be a long year and since he wasn't a student Néo wouldn't get to go on missions every month but maybe they would allow him to join one of the classes once in a while. Not that he was keen on fighting alongside those humans but he did want to prove that he, a taguel, was better than them. And getting to see other beastkin in action was actually something he was excited for. "But yeah, your tribe really should know what's going on here. No way they're gonna let those humans get away with this. Sure, Ambrose 'only' hates wolfskin but why should we tolerate that? And no one seems to actually bother too much with disciplining him. I'd say it's pretty clear what the humans think of us beastkin." He shook his head in disgust. Then his expression turned more thoughtful and he looked at Megumi curiously. "Do you think your tribe would inform the other taguel tribes about what they've heard from you? Not that I think you guys couldn't deal with it on your own but the other tribes deserve to be part of it too, right?"

Save for replies) Pierce-Library-Occult Club "Isn't he an idiot though," Pierce asked. "No offense, but from what I've seen and heard, he's definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer." Trusth be told Pierce didn't even think Neason knew where the drawer was. "He could always think it was him and just forget that he had done it. But it's better to be on the safe side, especially if he does deny it was him." Giving a nod glad they had a plan made he stretched his arms over his head glancing to the door, to guage how lengthy had left to wait.
Juris-Training Grounds-Agnar Juris had just got the sword in time to make a poor attempt of a block, nearly getting hit in the head by his opponents strike. He felt a sharp strike of pain through his arm, but no real damage was done other then just shock from the force of the blow. He managed better on the other attacks, taking a breath to steady himself. He struggled on the feints trying to gauge what way he truly was going to come from, cursing mentally, he choose to kick up dust slightly, not to transform but more so to give himself some ground to retreat best he could knowing he didn't have a shot on trying to block the third attack Agnar was directing towards him. He took a breath once again and went back in he struck down on Agnar's weapon in a beat before rushing in for a flush, aiming for his lower hip.
Alastiar-Dining Hall-Luca Alastair gave a small chuckle to Luca's behavior. "Yes, talkative guys have a charm of their own, it is a lot easier to be able to communicate with them," he said. "And it is easier to be able to tell how they are feeling. Quiet mysterious guys, it tends to be harder. Plus talkative guys are often the cute ones." he mauled it over before offering a slight shrug. "Sometimes even the overly talkative guys with nothing to say tend to be interesting, as there is always something bound to be unique that they will ramble on about."
Elara-Cathedral-Natalie Elara finished her prayer, observing the alter slightly as she rose her head. She hoped that her prayer went well, and that the Goddess accepted it, but then dread washed through her, what if she had offended the Goddess with her prayer! She shook out her head, quickly dismissing the thought. She moved to head away from the alter only to jump, seeing Natalie there now. "Oh sorry," she apologized towards the other girl. "I..i finished!" While she liked being around her friend, she knew she would need to interact with the other students in their house, but most were fairly intimidating to her, but she did want to at least try, like she had with Vincent, outside of Natalie, he was the only of classmate she could think off hand that she felt fine to be around.
Neason-Suana-Nora Neason gave a slight pout, why did no one seem to think their house could win! Not even Searc seemed to think they had a shot. He would jsut have to prove them all wrong!(no you wont). "That's what you think, I can come up with loads of things on the fly," he said, a grin now back on his face. Who needs a plan when you have unpredictability! He nodded at her next words. "Yea he probably is the strongest out of everyone in my house..." While he tried to sound proud of his brother, there was guilt in his stomach knowing why Searc was. "But yea I'm sure within a few months my whole house will be just as strong as him!"
"Yea, he spends majority of his time there," he said. "So if you ever do need to look for him, that would probably be where he is...or maybe the knight's hall as well." He thought over what she had said. It was rather something he had thought about in the past, his brother definitely would have been the smarter choice of the two, but then it would cause for people to probably be nervous in their house like Nora had continued. "Yea...he isn't really a people person...so it probably good he isn't the leader, otherwise I'm sure our professor would have his hands full with our classmates going to him about things." Though it wasn't like it probably would bother Philomel, the man was friendly with them, and never gave the notion he didn't want to be bothered with questions. "I think everyone probably has a few bad eggs when it comes to their nobles, but hey it just means there's hope yet if the younger generations are different in their viewpoints! I'm sure things will get better for everyone, even if it takes time for it to happen..."
