Out of curiosity, how fast do you type in your computer/mobile phone?
I type, like, really fast. I don't even have to look at my keyboard to know wich keys i need to use. But on mobile phones i guess i'm a bit slower.
Also, my first thread for off-topic discussions!

When I was still in school our computer teacher tested us every so often and on a computer I averaged 70wpm with a 93% spelling accuracy rate.
On a phone im much slower because its a lot clunkier to use only thumbs.

I'm pretty fast on the computer, I think? Never took one of those typing tests (and I definitely don't use home row like you're supposed to) but I spend a lot of time on the computer writing and such so I've gotten speedy.
I'm absolutely awful on my phone, tho. I make so many typing errors C'x

Using home row and typing "properly" i literally cant do because my pinkies are nonfunctional. The teacher who rated our typing speed wanted us to type as we normally would as was comfortable for us and we were still allowed to look at keys. I was more concerned with having the fastest wpm than typing accurately though, hence why my accuracy rate was lower.
I cant type very accurately on my phone either though because i hate not having a keyboard with actual buttons like my first phone did. I DESPISE touch screen buttons with a passion and sometimes they end up hitting the wrong key, hitting enter when im trying to type something else, pressing b instead of the spacebar sobmybwordsblookblikebthis. Because it is too small. And enlarging them isnt really an option unless i want my entire screen to be keyboard so I cant see what ive already typed.
Tldr, fkn hate smartphones.

The last time I took any sort of speed test was several years ago, and I was typing on a computer keyboard at around 165ish wpm without looking. I think my normal, relaxed speed is probably around 120 wpm.
I can’t text to save my life though lol I hate typing on my phone i say as I post this from mobile

around 80-90 on a clicky desktop keyboard, a little faster on a laptop keyboard with low key travel but can't test currently cuz i'm at work. 100% accuracy. i touch type with all my fingers but not quite homerow style, a little more floaty. my forearms cramp up way quickly though, which impedes me, even though i'm pretty sure i have decent hand>wrist>arm form.
i also have 75 wpm 100% accuracy typing on mobile too. i don't even type that much on mobile so idk why i have decent speed there (avg mobile texting speed is 35-40ish for reference). i think my fingers/hands are just a good size for my phone plus i noticed long ago that gboard was my fingers' favorite mobile keyboard, so i always use that instead of whatever the phone's native keyboard is.

I type really fast...despite typing with two fingers.
I've never learned how to properly type, but I'm just as fast if not faster than the average person. Not sure if that's impressive or tragic...

I actually had no idea so I looked up some typing speed tests and took them each a couple times. Lowest I got was 64 wpm, highest was 108???? idk how they actually calculate it to get that kind of range, but all were with 100% accuracy. High 80s was the mode in my group of scores so I'm gonna guess my actual speed is around there. also don't look at the keyboard, i think at this point i know where everything is by muscle memory.
i type pretty fast on my phone but I make a lot of typos unlike on the keyboard lol

I'm at about 70-80 WPM on 98-ish % accuracy. Just took a typing test, and I got 99 WPM with 98% accuracy, I believe.

I just took two tests on unrelated websites and both gave me 71 wpm at 98% accuracy. Which is pretty fast, fast enough to take decent notes on lectures without pausing at least. I can pump it up to 85-90 if I sacrifice accuracy, but I can't imagine going faster than that.

I just took a test and got 46 wpm so compared to what I've seen on this thread I'm going to say slower than a snail Or... exactly average? The people on this thread are not a good sample size, lol. Average typing speed is about 40 wpm, most jobs that are typing-heavy require between 50-80. Professional typists usually hover in the 90-110 range. So I don't know how everyone in this thread is reporting 100+, those people should go get stenography jobs, since at that point, you're typing about as fast as most people speak. The world record in English is 216 wpm by the way.
