aether I think it'll definitely be a fun combination hehe c: Cedarpelt can be kind of a royal pain, but I feel like she'll open a soft spot in him. That sounds awesome! I'm doing some work right now, too, so I might be slow going at first but I'm definitely open to start now!

Softbreeze🌥 - Camp ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;; Softbreeze bade farewell to Fidgetshadow as the nervous tom slipped into the nursery with a mouse in his jaws. She felt a flutter of amusement in her chest and gave her head a small pensive shake, he'll have his paws full when Frostrose finally has her kits. She herself had birthed three litters: two when she lived with her housefolk, and the litter she birthed soon after coming to the clans. Windpaw was all she had to show for it though, so as she looked across the clearing to her son who was speaking to Falconpaw, adoration shone in her eyes. It took all of her being to stop herself from going over to him. She needed to let her son grow.
She stood and padded out of the camp at a leisurely pace, drinking in the scents of the forest as her paws stepped instinctively towards the nearby creek. She'd spent the morning fixing a hole in the nursery and found herself now feeling quite parched.
She stopped at the babbling creek and lowered down to lick at the icy water. The coolness soothed her throat and when she was finished she flicked droplets from her white whiskers. She stayed perched by the creek as a breeze danced through the leaves above and she sighed contentedly. Oftentimes she feared she'd done the wrong thing in leaving her twolegs, but quiet moments such as these reminded her that the forest had always drawn her paws to it.
Below in the water she spotted the flash of a fish and she lifted her paw, it flashed again, and she swiped down upon it. It's rough scales brushed her paw pad, but she came up empty-pawed and splashing water. She shook herself free of the droplets and flattened her ears sheepishly. I hope nobody saw that!

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. creek nearby camp. aether Softbreeze
Afternoon sun filtered gently through the forest canopy as morning melted away. Birdsong floated through the air and the smell of new life gathered on the soft breeze that danced through the trees. The season's new warmth coaxed animals from their hiding places, making conditions ripe for prey - especially good for Cedarpelt, who had spent the early morning hunting with a few other warriors. He carried his two squirrels proudly as he padded through the forest. He had split from the group, hoping to enjoy a moment to himself by the creek nearby camp.
It had been a particularly long night for the tom, who had taken the night shift guarding the camp. He felt weary from the hours he had spent awake, and longed for the rush of the cool water against his tired joints. Who knew sitting for that long could be so taxing?
As the large russet tom approached the brook, he caught a familiar scent of a clanmate. He furrowed his brow in curiosity, his steps quickening to peer through the brush. His suspicions were confirmed as Softbreeze came into view. The warrior dropped his prey gently at the forest's edge, parting his jaws to greet her. But before he could speak, he noticed the molly lift her paw before the water. Is she.... fishing? he thought incredulously, tilting his head in confusion. It was no secret that Softbreeze wasn't the most... skilled huntress of the clan, so watching her attempt something like this was rather amusing to the arrogant tom.
He winced as he watched her paw fall empty into the water and let out a small snort of amusement. "Rough miss," he chuckled in a baritone voice, sucking in a sharp breath of sympathy as he emerged from the clearing fully, revealing himself to the molly. "They're slippery little fellas." Cedarpelt's tail swished contentedly behind him as he gathered himself to sit beside her, peering into the water. His green gaze burned with focus as he watched for another fish, but his ears swiveled to her to hear the response she might give.

Softbreeze🌥 - Creek nearby camp;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;; Softbreeze swiped her tongue hastily over her chest fur, sweeping away the clear droplets that had clung to her hare coloured pelt. Mid-lick she heard a voice behind her; it was familiar and it sounded amused. Softbreeze wished momentarily that she could sink into the earth as embarrassment prickled at her pelt, making her feel warm all over. She turned her head as Cedarpelts russet tabby and white form approached her. Despite her mortification, she offered him a polite dip of her head. "I - uh - well, yes. They are." She stammered sheepishly. Watching him attentively as he settled beside her, Softbreeze was afraid the tom would mock or tease her; it was well known he was rather, well, arrogant.
His company was not unwelcome although now Softbreeze couldn't help the timid edge to her movements as she turned her yellow gaze back to the water. Her paws shifted so they tucked under her chest, she wasn't too embarrassed to attempt to fish again in front of the tom. "Do you catch fish?" She asked softly, as though her words were capable of scaring away the scaled creatures in the depths. She had seen Flurrywing catch a fish once and while she wasn't sure who was more surprised by it - herself or Flurrywing - she'd been inspired to try. She was still so useless catching prey it seemed that she wanted to have some skill to show for herself, to prove she was a worthy clanmate.
Behind her, her long tail flicked. In the water she saw another silver flash of scales, instinctively she wanted to reach in and scoop it with her claws, but she refrained. Cedarpelt seemed intent to try himself.

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. creek nearby camp. aether Softbreeze
Cedarpelt could feel the embarrassment radiating off of the molly as they sat together. Normally, this wouldn't bother him; in fact, he might have even found it pitiful in most situations. The ginger warrior didn't have much room for those who he perceived as weak, especially not among the ranks of his fellow warriors. His belief in performance was tied to his own self-importance - he wasn't much of en empathetic tom.
This was partly true of the situation now. Admittedly, his first thought was one of censure, though perhaps a famiilial strain. It was rather disheartening to see a fully-grown molly so cruelly unable to fend for herself. Of course, it wasn't her fault; she's a former kittypet, after all. But something different stirred in Cedarpelt as he sat next to Softbreeze, her insecurity palpable. It was a rather new feeling for the large warrior. It made his stomach churn in an odd way, and his heart beat faster. It was something akin to empathy... or maybe affection? A shock of embarrassment of his own ripped down the tom's spine. His ears pressed back briefly against his head, and he cleared his throat.
"Uh... Yeah. Yeah, for sure," he replied, sitting up a little bit straigter. The truth was that he had only caught a fish once or twice, and that was during his training assesment as an apprentice. But he wasn't about to let the warrior know that. He turned his head to face the molly. Whatever confusion he had felt earlier had melted into self-assurance. His dark green eyes focused on Softbreeze, a small haughty glint swimming in their depths. "Maybe I could show you a few pointers. You know," The tom moved to his feet, wading confidently into the water. He gave a small, one shouldered shrug and turned back to face Softbreeze. "Just in case."
[ i definitely read him saying that in, like, the Kronk voice from Emperor's New Groove I don't know why lmfao xD
He's such a jerk I'm so sorry I promise he'll lighten up i just wanna make him seem bad because softbreeze is so goooood ]

Softbreeze🌥 - Creek nearby camp;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;; It seemed strange to Softbreeze as the tom moved into the water and a small tip of her head reflected this confusion. She initially stayed in her position watching as his paws disturbed the mud on the creek floor, creating a dark, cloudy swirl with each step he took. She almost forgot to listen to his words as he moved forward, his back turned to her, and the embarrassment eased away as amusement took its place. I may be a poor hunter, but at least I know you can't catch a fish by splashing up to it!
When he turned back to face her he may have been surprised to see a mischievous glimmer to her previously sullen eyes. Her oversized ears twitched, "A few pointers?" Her voice was pitched as she stifled a laugh, although her it sounded soft as ever too. "Such as how to scare them all away?"
The fish she'd eyed moments before was now long gone. It had disappeared in a heartbeat the moment Cedarpelt stepped foot into the creek. She did consider that perhaps Cedarpelt had some other tactic to show for catching fish but due to the cloudy water it would take time before the fish decided to show themselves again and by that point it would have been faster to fish it out by the waters edge the way she'd seen Flurrywing do it once before.
Other than a swish of her tail she stayed still, firmly planted on the dry ground, simply watching the tom. He appeared so confident in his strides that she felt a pang of regret for teasing him, so she straightened up and cleared her teasing smile. "Sorry, I don't mean to doubt you. I've just not seen someone go into the water to catch a fish."
[ omg i read it and then i read it again in the voice and why is that so funny? xD it's great i love him dw <3 ]

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. creek nearby camp. aether Softbreeze
Cedarpelt's stomach dropped at the sound of the molly's teasing. Though her voice was soft and amused - no animosity could be detected in her sing-song tone - the young warrior felt as if she has just clawed him right across the face. A volatile mixture of embarrassment and rage seered hotly beneath his fur, making the cool touch of the water that much more stark against his paw pads. A flash of anger shot quickly through his dark green eyes, and his brow furrowed slightly. You mouse-brained fool! he hissed inwardly, punishing his foolishness. The last thing he wanted was a former kittypet thinking she was better than him!
Although Cedarpelt was relatively prone to outbursts with his sister, he knew all too well that a fit of the sort would alienate him from Softbreeze. Not only would it be immature and mean, to unleash a cruel rebuke on her, but it would hurt her feelings - and, most importantly to Cedarpelt, ruin his reputation. There was something about the molly that charmed him. It was a new feeling for the ginger warrior, one that at once excited and terrified him. The truth was that he didn't actually really know Softbreeze. They had never really had anything to talk about with each other, but there was something intriguing about her. His offer to help teach her how to hunt was an impulsive decision he didn't quite understand himself. Alas, here he was. Making a fool out of himself. What a first impression....
Cedarpelt collected himself, shaking his head to clear away his frustration. He laughed lightly, shrugging at Softbreeze's apology. "No, no, I get it. Yeah, I guess it's pretty uh... unorthodox," he managed to admit, his voice trailing off a bit at the end. Whatever mortification he felt gave way to a fierce, deep-seated determination. If anything motivated the russet tabby to succeed, it was doubt and pressure from his peers. He sucked in a deep breath, calming his body to remain stone-still. One white paw raised gingerly out of the water, poised and ready for the very slim chance he may have for a kill. His eyes scanned the surface of the water intently, peering into the clear depths. After a few moments, a the glint of silver scales appeared in his periphery. Here goes nothing...
It happened in a heartbeat. Before even Cedarpelt knew it, his paw emerged from the water, claws sunk firmly into a small minnow. The fish wriggled briefly as it gave one last-ditch effort to escape, but eventually its writhing calmed into a tired stillness. Cedarpelt released a breath he hadn't known he was holding, his heartbeat raised in disbelief. The tom smoothed his slightly bristled fur, reclaiming the calm, aloof attitude he had before. Whatever shock he felt at the moment of the kill was concealed by his pride. "But hey, when you're good, I guess you're good." Cedarpelt flashed a smile at Softbreeze, gently tossing the fish toward the molly, landing a little ways to the right of her. He emerged from the water after and met her gaze with his dark green eyes, glinting with mischievous pride.

Softbreeze🌥 - Creek Near Camp ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;; The subtle bristle of the tom's ginger fur made the molly thing she'd offended him. A spew of apologies caught in her throat, held their by a claw of anxiety, and she ducked her head to avoid his gaze. Although she was hardly an acquaintance to Cedarpelt, the fact that she could see the taut frustration in his muscles made her surprisingly moved. I didn't mean to upset you! She wasn't sure what would be worse though: trying to sooth his wounds like a kit, or staying silent. She decided to stay silent as it seemed the safer option because at least she wouldn't add more salt to his wound, so she waited until he spoke.
Although it might not have been so to the tom, but Softbreeze's world was frozen with tension. She held her breath in anticipation, the only movement was a breeze that stirred her whiskers, until at last the storm broke: he spoke, and he didn't snap at her like she thought he may. The awkwardness to his tone made it evident she had hurt his pride but his words proved he was willing to move past it. She was more than happy to oblige and merely nodded, relief shining in her bright yellow gaze.
Perhaps more surprising then Cedarpelt's lack of temper was his swift movement to catch the fish. Her eyes round with wonder, she stared as the fish stilled on his paw and purred at his words. "You're right; I shouldn't have doubted!"
As the slimy creature thumped onto the earth she stepped to it. It was small and would be demolished in only a few mouthfuls but it was prey that allowed Cedarpelt to regain his pride. She would not complain. She was beginning to realise Cedarpelt wasn't just a hot-headed, arrogant tom that she thought him to be. While he did often argue with Cloverfoot, they were kin, and kin always argued. I shouldn't have been so quick to judge, she looked up as he approached. The area of his pelt that had been submerged was darkened by the water, but what struck her were his deep green eyes, glimmering in the light that filtered through the trees.
"Could you teach me more?" She blurted unexpectedly, then looked nervous as she shuffled her paws, "Everyone knows I'm not a good hunter but I'd like to learn... I want to prove myself." She wasn't sure why she was being so honest to the tom, perhaps it was because his tall and proud appearance made her feel safe. If I can get better at hunting then maybe I will feel more like a clan cat. A heartbeat later her stomach rumbled and she was reminded that she hadn't eaten that day. The minnow was Cedarpelt's prey so she straightened up and stepped back from it, stopping it's tantalizing scent from wafting into her nostrils. "I would like to earn my place and catch my own prey instead of relying on other's to do it for me." As a former kittypet, she'd spent her life relying on twolegs and now she relied on her clanmates. She was beginning to crave a sense of independence.

Nightflower [Medicine Cat][45 Moons][Molly] In the clearing / Open - - - - After some time had passed, Nightflower finally lifted herself back on her four paws. She delicately moved the herbs back into their respectful spaces, nodding with happiness as she looked at the once more, tidy den that she shared with Butterpaw. A smile formed on her maw as she thought of the little ginger tabby. Her apprentice was definitely the social butterfly in Larchclan, though Nightflower saw that as a good quality to have. Especially being in the position of a medicine cat. Not to mention, her brain absorbed the herbs and remedies she was taught, like a sponge.
With one last sweep of her eyes, around their den, the calico molly slipped out into the main clearing where the rest of her clanmates would be. The moment she stepped from the den, her large amber eyes blinked a few times to take in the sunlight. Her eyes finally landed on Berrypaw and Butterpaw. The medicine cat let out a soft purr as she caught the last words coming from her apprentice.
Taking a step forward, she brushed her fluffy tail along Butterpaw's side, before giving a nod of greeting to the two apprentices. "You may go out with Berrypaw and the warriors. Just don't stay out too long. And if there are any herbs you know that we need, grab them." Once she finished speaking, the molly turned and headed over to the fresh-kill pile. Maneuvering around it, she looked for a vole, one of her favorites. Once finding a smaller one, the medicine cat turned with her food and settled into a patch of sunlight. Mysticwolf [Senior Warrior][68 Moons][Tom] At Eagle's Lookout / open - - - - (Reposting this. Maybe someone's character can join him.)
The Sight. The Beauty. The View of everything that consisted of Larchclan's home. Silence and Peace. A moment to himself.
Mysticwolf took in a deep breath as he gazed around the landscape before him. His tan eyes lit up as the light of the day hit him. Warmth filled his bones for a moment, only for him to fluff up his white fur as a breeze washed over him. He closed his eyes for a split moment and tilted his head up to take in the fresh air.
Early that morning, before dawn, the senior warrior had slipped away from his clanmates and made his way up to the Eagle's Lookout. He preferred the scenic spot earlier in the day, when most of the time, the humans hadn't taken up space along the spot. It was a routine of the warriors, more days than not, he would work his way to the location. And when the sun would rise, he'd slip his way back to camp. The only days he didn't come up the mountain, were the days he was on a morning patrol. Falconpaw [Apprentice][9 Moons][Tom] - - - - Just as the brown somali was turning his head to give his flank a quick grooming, a body hit his side. Stiffening up, the apprentice held his ground, grunting from the effort. Light orange eyes flashed towards the feline that had ran into him. Lips twitching slightly, a growl rumbled deep within his chest. It wasn't until his eyes met the pale green eyes of Windpaw that he relaxed slightly. Gazing at the excitable, yet newest member of the apprentice crew, Falconpaw forced himself to lighten up. The usually private and quiet tom knew that the younger tom meant no harm.
Getting to his paws, his ears perked up and he tilted his head slightly as the pale brown tom whispered in his ear. A soft snort escaped him at the mention of the Loud Camp. If they got caught, they would be in a moons worth of troubles. Falconpaw himself wasn't one to usually get into trouble. He followed the rules and did as he was expected. Yet, he didn't have the heart to tell Windpaw no.
Of course, he knew well that the younger tom would just go without him, if he decided not to break the rules. With a slight nod of his head, he took a glance around. "Alright, Windpaw. I've been there with my mentor before. I'll go with you. But..You must swear you'll listen and keep close and quiet. If we get caught, we'll be in so much trouble. Apprentices aren't suppose to go alone." Frostrose [Queen][40 Moons][Molly] In the Nursery / Fidgetshadow[Ember34 ] - - - -
The black molly was just starting to doze off when the sound of approaching paws woke her again. She flickered open her ice-blue eyes to confront whoever was coming to disturb her. The cold and irritable look that had settled over her quickly disappeared as the familiar sandy and white tom slipped into the nursery. Her mouth watered as she picked up the scent of the mouse that dangled from his jaws. Warmth began to flood across her face and she gave a soft purr of greeting to her mate.
No matter how irritable the molly was at the moment, her heart always warmed at the sight of the usually nervous tom. Having grown with him throughout her life, she was well aware of his awkward and fidgety habits. The more she grew to love him and get closer with Fidgetshadow, the more she learned of his fear to lose her. Yet, there wasn't a day that went by, that the warrior couldn't make her melt inside.
As he approached, she struggled to her paws, her belly spilling around her. Nuzzling up against his cheek, her purring grew until the sound of it echoed around the den. "Why thank you, Fidgetshadow. I was growing a bit hungry. A mouse is just perfect to tidy me over."

The smaller toms green eyes grew wide with excitement as Falconpaw gave a slight nod. He grinned and his tail quivered happily behind him. "But it'll be fun, don't 'cha think?" He squeaked, but he kept his voice quiet to avoid rousing attention. He knew that the Loud Camp was off limits unless apprentices were with their mentors but Windpaw didn't want to wait. He wanted to see what the Loud Camp had to offer, he wanted to see the twolegs for himself! He'd heard many stories from Softbreeze about the tall, furless creatures, but he hadn't seen one himself. "Let's go now, I bet Rainstar will be impressed if we bring back tons of food," he scrambled past Falconpaw, his paws dancing excitedly as he padded to the camp entrance.
His exhilarated movements made it doubtful he'd be a very efficient listener to his senior apprentice, but Windpaw had no ill intentions. I can't wait, I can't wait! Just wait until Softbreeze hears about how brave I am, going to the Loud Camp! His small chest puffed at the thought. He glanced back to Falconpaw, "Which way do we go?" He'd been so quick to leave that he realised he didn't even know which direction to walk.

CEDARPELT warrior. tom creek nearby camp. aether Softbreeze
The warrior was, at first, taken aback by her sudden request. It was odd that a fully grown cat was asking him to teach then how to hunt. I mean, an apprentice, sure. But a warrior? It was slightly uncomfortable, especially for Cedarpelt. Although he was effective when hunting - he functioned in the way the clan needed him to - he was certainly no master tracker. If she had asked him to teach her combat, that would have been different. Regardless, he couldn't help but feel his pride inflate at her question. Clearly, his lucky catch was enough to convince the former kittypet that he was the one for the job. And what she said was true. Softbreeze was well-liked among the warriors but her lack of experience was starkly evident amidst these born and raised clan cats. Cedarpelt would be lying if he said he didn't participate in a conversation or two that criticized her inability, or that highlighted her dependence upon their skill.
The ginger tom watched as the molly moved away from the minnow. A small glimmer of amusement danced across his face, presenting in a boyish half-smirk. He flicked the water off his tail and gathered himself into a sitting position across from Softbreeze. He stifled a laugh at her rumbling stomach, but managed to take in the rest of her words. "You can eat it, you know," he chuckled, tail curling around his wet paws. Their white fur was muddied by the soft, sandy riverbank. He gestured with a nod to where he had hid his catch from this morning. "I have more to bring back to camp from when a few of us went today, after our night shift." While preparing a response to the molly, his reference to this morning reminded him of his weariness. The adrenaline from the fishing had made him forget about how tired he was from standing guard all evening, but Cedarpelt wasn't about to let Softbreeze know he was sleepy. His pride had already been sacrificed too much today for his liking.
"And yeah, sure. I guess I could help you out here and there." His words assumed their characteristic haughtiness - a reminder that the cavalier Cedarpelt was never too far away. "Besides, I've been wanting an apprentice for sometime now." The tom winked at her teasingly, chuckling as he spoke. He seemed not to have the same decorum, or care, that Softbreeze did, for after he said this he didn't worry if it might hurt her feelings. To him, it was a simple jest - similar to how she had jeered him earlier today. And he had to admit... there was some sympathy for the molly lurking around underneath all of Cedarpelt's counterfeit confidence. He seemed to care for her, and even maybe admire her utilitarian spirit. But for now, he was just stroking his ego.
[ wait Softbreeze is so cute i want to protect her at all costs
also, if Windpaw still needs a mentor, Cloverfoot is open! I would say Cedarpelt is too, but idk how that situation would fly with him and Softbreeze's relationship. Unless it would be interesting drama looolllll ]

Softbreeze🌥 - Creek Near Camp ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;;
There was a moments hesitation before Softbreeze stepped forward again and bent down to the minnow. The hesitation was driven by that nagging feeling that edged in her mind; you eat his prey because you can not catch your own. Softbreeze was not a notoriously prideful cat, she was renowned for her gentle nature and motherly antics, but even the most lax cat would at some point feel an edge of shame when they failed so hard to do a task that so many others could. She took a mouthful of the fish, it's distinct flavour reminded her of the sorts of slop her twolegs would feed her, and she found herself enjoying the flavour more than that of a mouse or vole. As he went on, her large ears swiveled in his direction, but her eyes remained on the prey as she gulped it down in famished mouthfuls.
She rose her head and swiped her tongue over her lips a few times, relishing the taste of the fish. She pushed herself up to sit tall across from Cedarpelt. Against his muscular form, she looked small and petite; only, her long legs gave her some height over the tom. His response stirred a sense of confused appreciation within her stomach as she wondered how to respond. While he did offer his assistance, his words almost made it seem like it would be a chore... 'I could help you out here and there' Softbreeze tilted her head slightly, maybe he is only agreeing to be kind, oh I should forget about it! She opened her mouth to speak but was not as fast as he. His words stung, evident as she jolted into a straighter, tense position. Now, her pelt burned with a prickle of embarrassment. I'm not an apprentice! He thinks I'm like an apprentice! Should she remind him that she was his senior?
"I - uh - well," she began with a stammer, avoiding his green gaze, "I... I suppose so." She yielded. Although it made her heart hurt, there was truth to it, and Cedarpelt spoke with a laugh. He hadn't meant to hurt her feelings, right?
She rose to her paws and gave her pelt a shake to release tension that was building, "Anyways, you said you were on night shift, you must be tired." She offered a small smile, "You can go and rest if you want, I'm going to see if I can catch anything." Despite so many futile efforts she still tried. It could be one of her most valuable attributes, her resilience. She turned tail and moved towards the edge of the clearing where the ferns moved to and fro against the breeze off the creek. She wondered if she had reacted too sensitively to Cedarpelt, ever unsure of her own actions, but she decided that his words hadn't been kind, whether he meant it rudely or no.
She rose her nose into the air take in the surroundings, picking up the fresh air that swept across the creek, and also the scent of Cedarpelt and the minnow. She pressed forward to nose her way through the ferns, as they rustled, a bird overhead chirped out a warning cry. I didn't see that bird! All the prey in the immediate area now would be alerted to her presence and no doubt would hurry back to their dens. She didn't dare turn to Cedarpelt. How many mistakes could one cat make in the span of one interaction? Flattening her ears to her skull, she merely pushed forward. She would have to go deeper in the woods in search of prey now.
[ i love cedarpelt too though, he is funny Cx
windpaw does need a mentor! so if cloverfoot is open to it i'm down for that! he is a troublemaker so it'll be interesting to see how that works with her being more analytical xD edit;; I just thought that windpaw and cedarpelt would be better off not mentor and apprentice because windpaw is so easily impressed he would only inflate cedarpelts ego and that would get dangerous xD ]

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. creek nearby camp. aether Softbreeze.
Softbreeze's abrupt exit left the ginger tom rebuffed. He furrowed his brow a bit at her reply. When she spoke, the molly's characteristic tenderness was present. And yet, there was something strangely biting about her word choice and the curt way in which she exited. As Softbreeze turned tail, Cedarpelt rolled his eyes in tired annoyance. Though he wasn't the most perceptive of tomcats, the abyssinian molly wasn't very subtle. Not only could he smell the irritation coming from her, but the tension in her muscles indicated that something he had said rubbed her fur the wrong way. She can't really be upset, can she? Can dish it out but can't take it, huh, he thought to himself. What kind of warrior can't take a joke?
But she was right. The ginger warrior's paw pads ached from being upright, and his muscles screamed for a nap. The idea was tempting. Normally, Cedarpelt would have ignored this interaction - chalked it up to her being uptight and unwilling to shoulder a blow. He would have told himself that she was just being too sensitive, and that wasn't his fault. He didn't ask for a former kittypet to join his ranks - she made that choice for herself. If she can't hold her own, then that's her problem. Why should he have to fix it? It wasn't his responsibility. And that would have been it.
Yet, something about Softbreeze drew him in. Though some frustration with her lingered noticeably within him, it was coupled by a feeling of regret. Maybe it was her gentle nature or her kindness, or maybe it was her gumption despite her novice, but there was something about her that made Cedarpelt feel, well, bad for making fun of her. He hefted a gentle sigh, got to his feet, and started after her. After all, although he may be an arrogant mouse-brain a lot of the time, he knew that this warranted an apology, regardless of his unwilligness to give on. His dark gaze settled in her direction, watching the foliage close around her. He stopped briefly - the noise from the ferns was certainly not going to win her any advantages. As soon as that thought crossed his mind, a bird called out overhead. There goes any shot she had in this area. Cedarpelt allowed himself one more eyeroll - his work was cut out for him.
The muscular warrior quickened his pace, but remained careful to keep his footsteps silent. Cedarpelt glided gently into the brush after the molly, staying downwind so to remain undetected by her. The warrior kept a wide birth to maintain the element of surprise, staying low to the ground, eyes trained on Softbreeze's paws pushing her deeper into the forest. If Softbreeze wanted to learn how to hunt, she would first need to experience being hunted.
[ I see him getting into some trouble now lol xD I think it would be really funny to watch them interact. Cloverfoot does not know how to be affectionate at all, so his antics would probably amuse her but in a strictly observational sense. She's super dutiful and would be really strict with him. And watching her and Softbreeze interact would be funny too ]

Fidgetshadow- Nursery- With Frostrose Fidgetshadow could feel warmth spread through him seeing his mate. Despite the time he has known the black she cat, he still got nervous around her, but it wasn't his usual nervousness, it was the kind that got his heart beating fast. Setting the mouse down in front of her nest so his mate didn't have to move to much to eat it. The sandy tom nuzzled her cheek in exchange. A smile forming on his face at her purr, the sound always bringing comfort to him.
"Sorry if I woke you up," he apologized, his ears pulling back. It had detected her irritation earlier before her mood had changed. But his ears returned to a normal position as Frostrose's purring continued. "I'm also sorry isn't exactly what you wanted." His left paw gave a small twitch but he quickly licked at it. It's okay it's okay she said it was fine. he thought to himself. "How are you feeling? Any pain or anything?" He frowned a bit with worry as he observed her.

Softbreeze🌥 - Creek Near Camp ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;;
Softbreeze was oblivious to the fact that Cedarpelt stalked after her, watching silently. Had she known she probably would have felt nervous and unsteady on her paws under his deep green gaze, the pressure of another warriors expert gaze was sometimes too much for her to bear. Every now and again her paws would step upon a particularly dried leaf and it's crinkle would send a wave of frustration from her nose to the black tip of her tail. It flicked in annoyance. After the second time she let out a small sigh - after the third, it was a hiss. The fourth almost drove her mad. "Have I no sense?" She muttered, stopping where she stood in a small clearing. Even Windpaw managed a mouse on his first day of hunting and she was scaring away every morsel from camp to the eagle lookout!
She wasn't usually this poor at hunting. She often made these mistakes but not quite to this extent. The interaction with Cedarpelt left her ruffled and she couldn't pinpoint why. It could have been his lasting comment after she had taken a leap in asking him for help, or perhaps it was the disappointment she felt in turning away so abruptly. Come on, Softbreeze, you've got to show you are not a kittypet! Or an apprentice!
She closed her eyes and took a deep, calming breath before setting out again with newfound determination. Her lean muscles rippled beneath her pelt as she stalked ahead, taking care to watch here she put her paws this time. She had gone almost as far as tulip trail before prey scents finally began to touch her nose and although it was a small achievement, her joy was expressed by the simple quiver of her tail. She angled her ears to listen for any sounds and parted her jaws to let the scents of the forest mingle. A rabbit! It appeared suddenly some fox-lengths away, at first it timidly stepped out from among some tree roots, halting as it scented the air, then it pushed out into the small clearing to nibble on grass and leaves. Softbreeze readied herself, moving as slow as a she needed in order to ensure she had all her bearings as she stalked to the creature.
She leaped too early yet, her powerful hind legs pushed her forward but she was just short of the prey. It skittered on dry leaves before pelting, it's robust hind legs sent it like a rocket back towards it burrow. Softbreeze gave chase, her long legs giving her a speed advantage as she sprung after it, her forepaw stretched as she tried to grasp the rabbit with her claws, but she was an inch away and it dived back into the safety of the roots. Her flanks heaved as she panted. Her eyes stared to the roots with a glaze of defeat. So much for her burst of determination, it seemed. She leaned back to move away and considered what she would do next: continue her futile hunts or go back to camp in defeat.
[ haha yeah! and i imagine softbreeze wouldn't be the biggest fan since she is so protective of windpaw, she can be a little blind to his mishaps. ]

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. forest nearby Tulip Trail. aether Softbreeze
Every time Softbreeze crunched on a dried leaf, Cedarpelt winced in secondhand embarrassment. He resisted the urge to let out that signature haughty chuckle, stifling the amusement that threatened to escape. Her young son, only an apprentice, seemed to have more skills than his mother. At least she was getting frustrated by the whole ordeal - she wasn't totally oblivious to the literal missteps she was taking. The russet tom, still concealed beneath the foliage, felt a pang of sympathy for the molly. It was an uncharacteristic moment of emotion, something most cats didn't expect Cedarpelt to be capable of feeling. Softbreeze was clearly trying very hard to prove herself, and even someone as self-involved as him could see the true effort she was putting forth. He caught himself smiling a bit at this thought, but quickly pushed those feelings away. It doesn't matter whether or not she was trying hard, he reminded himself. She needs to learn so she can finally pull her weight around here.
Cedarpelt was snapped out of his emotional gymnastics by the slightest of rustles in the distance. The tom caught the scent just seconds before the molly, creeping forward toward the potential prey. He stole a quick glance at Softbreeze; she had caught it, too. The poor animal was vulnerable to the both of them, and completely oblivious to their approach. Not far from her position, the rabbit ventured out further into the clearing. This was an opportune moment for Softbreeze, and Cedarpelt watched as she sunk slowly into position. Alright now, easy does it... He could see the fast-twitch muscles rippling beneath her fur. A twinge of anticipation crept down Cedarpelt's spine. Just a little bit closer now, hold your posi- Before he could finish his thought, the molly lept forward. Too early.
The rabbit shot rapidly into the brush, desperate to escape the cat in hot pursuit. Softbreeze bounded after the rodent, making a fuss about the forest floor, no doubt frightening whatever small game was left for her to snag. Impressively, however, she nearly caught the rabbit, before it found refuge in the roots of a large oak. Cedarpelt had followed her - who had moved with surprising agility, despite his rather lumbering build - and was careful not to reveal his position. He now lay concealed in the brush behind her, eyes fixed intensely on her back. Defeat wafted off her, pungent enough for even the woodland creatures to sense. Better get this over with, the tom thought morosely. The large tom gathered his muscles in preparation. Before the molly could make her decision to continue or resign herself to an afternoon without a meal, Cedarpelt exploded out from behind the foliage, pinning Softbreeze to the ground in one swift move. Despite her taller frame, the russet warrior overpowered her, now looming in a dominant position. One of his large white paws pressed gently into her shoulder, before he removed it and stepped back to give some space. "You're too loud," he remarked, rather matter-of-factly, perhaps with a little disdain.
The apology he meant to start with burned in his throat. In his desire to prove she had done something wrong, had forgotten that he was sorry for earlier. The tom's dark green gaze indicated the remorse he couldn't portray in words as he ducked his head to the molly. He made a concerted effort to soften his voice, which took considerable concentration. "I mean... I know that you already noticed that," he tried again, clearing his throat. He straightened up, rolling his shoulders back. "Something that you could try is, well, avoiding the leaves obviously." A lighthearted laugh accompanied his words. There may have been even a slight purr to them. But he knew his words weren't hitting the kindness mark he was aiming for.
The tom released a slow breath, closing his eyes briefly. This could take all his energy. "I...I really do want to help." StarClan, this is torture. It was clear this gentleness was hard for the tom to convey, that he was holding his tongue. If it were anyone else, he probably would have been more harsh. But he had already hurt Softbreeze's feeling once, and twice felt like maybe too many times in one afternoon.

Softbreeze🌥 - Forest Nearby Tulip Trail ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;;
Her jaws parted as a yelp of surprise was forced from her lungs, it seemed like just a heartbeat until she was pinned to the ground, her wide eyes staring up at Cedarpelt. She hadn't a chance to fight back against the tom as his pure muscular strength overpowered her. It took a moment before she recognized his features past a wave of fear and she stopped writing beneath him, letting her body fall limp. She didn't even know what to say as he stepped off her, and honestly, the abrupt tackle stopped her from feeling a wave of embarrassment as she was too stunned to even know what to think. As he stepped back, she rolled onto her side and up onto her paws. His words were obvious to her and she merely flicked her ears in response.
"You didn't have to pounce on me just to say that," she murmured during the pause in conversation with a shuffle of her paws. Clearly though, there were many thoughts running through the toms mind, evident in his gaze. As green stared into yellow, she felt her resolve being to melt away. He didn't need to utter the words I'm sorry, she could see in his sheepish movements and hear it in his softened tone. His awkward shifting could almost make her purr with amusement if he wasn't trying so hard to mend his harsh words. He hadn't mean to hurt her feelings. The last of her irritation was swept away like a dandelion in a meadow breeze.
She let out a sigh she didn't realise she was holding and gave a small smile, "I would like that, Cedarpelt," warmth accompanied the softness to her voice and she stepped forward briefly to give him an apologetic lick on the shoulder. It was a small motion of not just pardoning their bygones, but also one to solidify trust and friendship. An enemy wouldn't offer such a gesture, nor would mere acquaintances. They were clanmates. "I think I overreacted before. Here, let's start again, hm?" She sat back onto her haunches, sitting tall and glossy, "If you help me I promise I'll do my best to not tread on the leaves," her voice was amused, followed by the hints of a purr, but the soft-spoken molly still felt bashful joking around.
It seemed like their spontaneous afternoon meeting had turned into something more, and the molly was feeling more confident in the knowledge that Cedarpelt would help her gain the skills she yearned for.
[ it'll be fun to see what happens when windpaw returns from loud camp! i am wanting him to either get caught before they even get there, get injured (not seriously), or others notice they are missing and cats go searching for them which gets them in trouble lol. so that'll be a good way to kick off windpaw and cloverfoot xD ]

CEDARPELT warrior. tom. aether Softbreeze
Cedarpelt lifted his head as she spoke, ears flicked forward. A tingle of relief spread across his body as she stepped forward to offer a gesture of forigveness. He was off the hook - the capituation he hated could end. Gratitude flashed in his eyes as he met her yellow gaze, a small smirk finding its way back onto his features. He never seemed to smile all the way, at least not in the way the gentle molly did. There always seemed to be something mischievous about his grin, like he knew something funny the others around him didn't. Of course, only Cedarpelt - and perhaps maybe Cloverfoot - knew this was a cover. The façade of arrogance, of self-assuredness was just that - a façade. This unexpected encounter with Softbreeze has almost broken through the structure of protection he had scaffolded around himself, and that frightened the russet warrior. His dark green eyes lingered on hers, interlocked for a moment. There was a quick, almost imperceptible glint of insecurity in their depths.
Almost as quickly as the silver minnows in the creek, however, it flashed out of sight as soon as Softbreeze spoke again. Cedarpelt shifted his eyes away, rolled his shoulders back, reassuming a proud posture. He offered a small shrug, dismissing her apology as forgiven. You've got that right. The tom struggled to hold his tongue, thr words clammering to escape. He tensed his jaws against their force, before offering a light chuckle. "I guess I can live with a deal like that," he huffed exaggeratedly, widening his eyes a bit, feigning annoyance. His tail swished contentedly behind him, indicating his joking manner. Cedarpelt made a concerted effort to appear looser than before, less judgmental. His body language communicated that he was relaxed around her now - he wanted to avoid another conflict like before.
Deep down, the warrior was still concerned about the task ahead of him. It was an uncomfortable situation all around, teaching the molly how to hunt and fend for herself. Not only was she a former kittypet, but they seemed to have diametrically opposing personalities. Where Softbreeze was forgiving and kind, Cedarpelt was stringent and harsh; where she was kind and understanding, he was biting and self-centered; where she was measured and gentle, he was hot-headed and cruel. This was all compounded by the fact that she was his senior. It didn't make for an easy approach. Nonetheless, the large warrior was determined to prove hise usefulness - and show off his skill.
Cedarpelt gathered himself in a sitting position, curling his tail around his paws. He furrowed his brow a bit to indicate that it was time to get down to business. "So," he started, fixing his dark eyes upon hers once more. "Tell me first what you know about hunting, or what you think you're good at it. That'll give us an idea of where to start so we're not wasting time on basics." His question was innocent enough. Having been raised as a clan cat by generations of clan cats, he truly thought that the molly would have some professional experience hunting. The tom didn't really understand what it was like to be a kittypet.
[ oh yes! i would love to do that. I can see it now, Cloverfoot would probably be super miffed that he was disobedient lol ]

Softbreeze🌥 - Forest Nearby Tulip Trail ;; 🌥 - Cedarpelt ;; 🌥 - parisiansteve ;;
Something had changed, just now, between the two of them. It wasn't a detail that Softbreeze could pinpoint and she stared almost quizzically at Cedarpelt as he rolled his shoulders back to resume his usual position. Chest fur fluffed out, neck straight and tall, eyes glimmering like emeralds, he looked to her like a great warrior. As her eyes met his she couldn't help feeling nervous all over again, a type of nervousness that made her giddy. A type of nervousness that fluttered throughout her stomach and tingled in her paws. She had no choice but to look away. What had she seen in his eyes? Something she hadn't seen in there before...
She felt tension leave her shoulders and she shivered as it traveled down her spine and left through the tip of her tail. This time as she looked back to him she could see the exaggerated movements of his features; momentarily she felt foolish thinking of how she'd taken such offense before. Regardless, he had moved on and she would too. In return she gave a deep, overemphasized dip of her head, "Thank you, great one." She also made as effort to lighten up, her voice curled playfully as she uttered the words.
The moment of tranquility moved ahead, with amends made, they had a new task at hand. Her eyes narrowed at his question pensively and she glanced down to her paws which she used to start aimlessly pulling at the grass. She'd spent so much of her time locked up in her twoleg nest through formative moons, whether it was taking care of kits or because the twolegs simply refused to give her the freedom she craved. In the end, she'd escaped through their legs as they had been leaving the nest. She hadn't turned back and struggled for moons until she found herself at the clan. At that point, she was sure they merely pitied her, her stomach had been round with the promise of kits. The hungry moons before left her malnourished and they have saved her; she owed them to be a worthy hunter and fighter.
"Don't step on noisy leaves," she began in an attempt to stay light-hearted but a hint of uncertainty sounded in her tone as she realised how little she did know, "Stay downwind so the prey can't smell you on the breeze, and - uh - mice are sensitive to vibrations!" It was embarrassing to think Windpaw had been the one to teach her the last part as he'd explained his first ever catch. "I think I need to work on my crouch, sometimes I don't know where to put my paws, or I forget my tail." Her tail tip flicked across the earth as she spoke and she pointed with her nose towards the tulip trail, "Sometimes I can catch prey in the meadow, I don't have to stalk so much and I can chase the rabbits further." On the meadow stealth was important to an extent, however, there were no bushes to hide behind: prey can see a cat coming easily. Speed was necessary to chase rabbits before they could hole up in their burrows along the moor and Softbreeze found that she had the room to out-stretch her long legs if she hunted in the meadows. While the forest undergrowth was full of hiding places for a stalking cat there were also so many more details to keep in mind.
[ i'm keen! Cx ]

Berrypaw - - - - - Berrypaw let out a purr, as she stepped back towards her friend. "Everything has a home, even raspberry leaves," she teased, going along with Butterpaw's comment about the leaf's family, "It is probably happy to be back there instead of stomping around camp and starclan knows where." It likely would have fell off in the forest or one of the younger apprentices would have gotten ahold of the poor leaf.
The fluffy molly was about to open her mouth to suggest leaving camp with her when she noticed Nightflower appearing behind her friend. She dipped her head to the medicine cat, feeling suddenly shy with the older molly's presence.
She blinked at the medicine cat's words before the Nightflower padded away. She turned her attention back towards Butterpaw and let out a soft squeal. She bounced on her paws, "Do you hear that? You can come on a patrol with me," Berrypaw breathed with joy in her eyes. She loved spending time with Butterpaw.
"Although..." she paused with a wrinkle of her nose, "I am pretty sure Mysticwolf left without me today," she mused with a sigh. She wasn't sure if it was a test to be more independent or not. She wasn't a fan of tests. The thought of her future assessments sent butterflies through her. She would die in the coming season and Rainstar would never give her warrior name and poor Mysticwolf would be stuck with her forever.

okay instead of replacing proudfalcon with one cat, i am doing two like a dum-dum.moonspots - warrior - rogue born - free for relationships; maybe family? like a brother or sister. sunhawk - warrior - clanborn - free for family/relationshipsMoonspots. 39 moons. male. bisexual. faceclaim.
Exotic looking feline with his soft gray-brown bengal markings over his plush white fur. The bengal markings are darker along his legs and his face. He has hints of brown along his muzzle and rump. He has deep blue eyes. Moon has big paws that lead up to a rounded shoulders. One of his ears has a tear in it and he has a few scars that crossed his shoulders from his fights in the past.
This tom knows he looks unique with his striking coat and his attitude reflects that. Moonspots is a confident tom, he rarely doubts any of his decisions and his endeavors. He is a bold tom and is often opinionated. He isn't afraid to question leadership or ask the tough questions. Moonspots is a charming tom and has a particular aura that surrounds him that feels compelling. He is flirty, will flirt with anyone. In reality, this is a carefully crafted facade. Due to his harsh upbringing as a rogue, Moonspots has always longed for the stability and affection of his parents and peers. He was naive to believe he could earn it until one day, he just left the group. He joined Larchclan when he was 11 moons old.
@ blazeheart Sunhawk. 21 moons. male. heterosexual.
Looking as red as setting sun, this tom lives up to his name. He has a deep ginger fur that gleams red in the sunlight. His fur is fluffy especially in the chest. Sun has dark amber eyes. He is a tom of short yet muscular physique.
Sunhawk has a welcoming aura. He is typically warm with strangers and his clanmates, willing to up to them with affection. He is honest and tends to be easily trusting towards other cats, even the wrong ones. Yet he isn't one to forgive and forget easily. He can be somewhat witty and is a quick thinker. He is a proud cat and doesn't mind snarking back to whoever wants to start with him. Sunhawk can be quick to anger; exposing his irrational side at times. He can be easily annoyed if you push enough buttons. He doesn't care for certain social niceties, making him prefer to work on his own for the most part. Sunhawk believes in doing what is right no matter what the cost. He rather be a hero than a coward.

so I know this is off topic, but I am just after some opinions:
Which clan name do you think sounds best for these types of territories?
MOORLAND CLAN: WoldClan (wold meaning 'a piece of high, open uncultivated land or moor.') HeathClan (heath meaning 'an area of open uncultivated land, typically on acid sandy soil, with characteristic vegetation of heather, gorse, and coarse grasses.') SprintClan (because they are notoriously fast) GaleClan (as in 'windclan' but different haha) or please suggest I'm not good at naming things
HEADLAND CLAN: CliffClan (as they are by the cliff) SprayClan (the sea spray from the ocean) CapeClan (cape synonymous with headland) RidgeClan BluffClan (bluff also synonymous with headland) or please suggest, again Cx
