There's a time and place. If the tension was already here before, making jokes might not be the best of ideas.
Honestly, maybe we can just focus on what we can do to make this better for the forums? Move the focus from the negative to positive. The future and whatnot.

wait was it mocking kintypes that was wrong or was it mocking like what?? i'm confused. well i mean hollyleaf themselves stated that its just "tumblrina's getting angry over nothing" so i'm guessing it was mocking "tumblrina culture" or whatever. i didn't say that i didn't appreciate the joke specifically because it mocked sjw's i didn't appreciate the joke because of the mocking in general. which is what i'm trying to address here i guess?? but people want to make it seem like i'm attacking them for no reason and trying to pick a fight on this thread when i specifically did not want that here.

okay as someone who's otherkin myself i actually found the joke relatively funny i think one of the problems with the community is that we're really uptight about many subjects and we all need to calm down a little

Guys, please remember that this thread was created for someone to say how they feel about the problems on this site. Creating more tension and problems isn't going to solve what is already going on. We can't not know what someone will post next though; that's up to you when you're writing a post. Keep it calm and for the sake of the community, don't start fights.
We all have a different perspective on things such as jokes, for one. Someone could say something, meaning it as a joke but another can take it as an offense. It's hard to know what someone means especially since words do not have tone.

Unfortunately a thread about it won't help to solve the issue. Very few people are going to read this and think "verbatim is talking about me". The people causing the problems you speak of will just read this and assume it's about someone else. The only thing you can really do is ignore and report someone when they do the things you're talking about.

Honestly, maybe we can just focus on what we can do to make this better for the forums? Move the focus from the negative to positive. The future and whatnot. agreed, i know i'm not helping the situation so i'll simmer down, this is just making me a little angry. i think something we can ALL start doing is to, before we post something, think of a few things: 1- does this comment contribute to the conversation in some way? 2- is there any way this comment could hurt someone's feelings? we do need to remember that there are people on the other side of these screens, and something that may not seem like a "big deal" to you may mean the world to someone else, and we shouldn't tell more sensitive folks to just "lighten up sweety, someone can't take a joke " 3- is there anything else in this reply that would otherwise break the rules?

? i feel like you're purposely trying to start a fight with me and i'm not really appreciating it. there was no tension here until the joke was made? if you care to explain otherwise then go ahead, otherwise i'm just confused at this point. i'm not trying to start a fight i'm just trying to get you to lighten the heckie up sighing the point is- no matter who these jokes are directed at, someone identifies with that group. if someone identifies with that group there will be hostility and anger towards people mocking them. the. point. is. theres no respect for other people's feelings on here and it has built up unnecessary hostility.

i've been trying to do this but on the other hand i'm not sure what constitutes as "breaking the rules" when hostility can be brought up from brought up by people who claim they are making jokes but the jokes are directly targeted at people to make them angry. i'm always confused on when to say something to higher ups or when nothing will be done about it. I know you guys need help but the problem a lot of the time i don't know if i would be reporting for the right reasons.
idk i think we all need to stop making jokes directed at specific groups of people. doesnt matter who's right or wrong it's just breeding a really hateful community. and if threads like the christian thread can stay up and have 0 problems with being mocked or having hate thrown their way, i don't see a reason the whole of the forums can't be that respectful towards each other.

((sorry this reply is a right mess, i do need to catch some sleep right now.))

Now this thread started out as a critique of the forums and turned into having to prove to that it could easily be better. Just admit it, the forums has a lot of flaws and could be far far far better than what it is.
The mods could only do so much.

All I know is you're taking things too seriously. It's honestly fine. Like I said, if you have a problem on a catbeardog forum, then leave. That way you can avoid being offended by harmless jokes.
I'm freaking autistic. I hear the words 're.tarded', 'idiot' and 'autist' DAILY. And I could care less. I'm not going be a moron who lets dumb stuff people say dictate her feelings. It's honestly plain stupid. You can waste your time being offended, or move on with your life. The world is cruel. You learn to adapt to it, or you fall.
I'm going to end it here. I have college tomorrow, and I can't be bothered to continue this.

Alright, I think this thread has run it's course, it's only going to feed into the drama. If you see something you think make be hurtful to other members please report it. That is the best way to deal with the issues brought up in this thread.
