I'm down for whatever! I just ask that you write at least 2 sentences per post! Got a character or two that I'm wanting to try out and figured what better place to try it out than here? When it comes to fandoms, just ask, if I haven't heard of it, it doesn't mean I'm opposed to it, just give me a rough explanation and I should be good.
A few suggestions we could go based off of if you want:
1. Medieval fantasy and possible romance: a young member of an elite military group is saved by a local woman. He decides to stay and work off his life-debt he owes the woman, which accidentally makes her a target for a powerful group of sorcerers that the man had been after, which was presumed disbanded after the fight in which the woman saved him. Will they fall to the dark forces that pursue them, or will they prevail? (The elite military group could be a heroes guild or it could be more sophisticated like an order of dragon riders. If we go with the rider idea, I have a perfect character for both the rider and the dragon.)
2. Futuristic settlers: both characters are intergalactic settlers on an alien planet. One is a hired gun to protect from local wildlife and the other is a local store owner who has resorted to using local resources to manufacture some high demand products without having to buy expensive materials from industrial planets. When the merchant stumbles across something that could jeopardize everyone in the settlement. The merc and the store owner must work together to arm the settlement and train them for the impending attack. (Possibly a romance too, up to you. Could be a random animal that's the threat or a sentient alien race.)

I'd preferably like to play the military group guy, as I've got a character I've been wanting to use that I can probably use in the position. Is that okay with you? Also, where'd you rather rp, an actual thread, a pm or discord?

I'd prefer mxf if that's ok. A thread works. We can plan it out here then I'll create the thread and shoot you the link.

Sure! The character I've been wanting to use is one of my characters whose a bit headstrong, sometimes naive and overall reckless. If we go with the order of dragon riders approach, I have a dragon I can use too.

I feel like the first one would probably fit better. Adds a good shot at character drama. So would you rather go with the heroes guild or order of dragon riders? I'm fine with either or if you have another idea feel free to toss that out there too.

Alrighty! If you are fine with it, I might base the rider-dragon relationship roughly off of Eragon (pretty much the dragons communicate through telepathy and the riders and dragons are connected through a telepathic link. They're more one person in two separate bodies.) Depending on how deep into the eragon lore you'd be willing to get into, it could add a layer of forbidden romance as well, as human dragon riders are immortal in the sense of aging. They can still be killed, they just can't die from natural causes. Kinda tough to be in love with someone that'll die long before you most likely will.

Alrighty! Would you prefer to write up our characters now or wing it and use the story to develop the characters?

If you're fine with writing them up now, that'd be perfect. It helps me to know what to expect from the character and help make fluid dialogue. I'll write both of my characters up (the rider and the dragon.)

Elwrin Vrangrwelden || 19 years of age || male || Elwrin is a broad shouldered young man, standing at about 5'9" and weighing just over 200 lbs. He has fairly defined muscles due to his service as a squire before joining the riders. He keeps his dark brown hair cut short to prevent it from getting in his face, and his crisp blue eyes show an icy fire that matches his personality. He bares a mark on his left hand from bonding with his dragon. || Elwrin's rider training may have helped his planning, but it failed to help his decision making. He's often a bit stubborn, tends to launch himself headfirst into situations and would much rather throw himself in the way of an arrow than let someone else die. He is the living embodiment of the duality of courage and foolishness. || Elwrin was born in a small port city on the eastern coast to a mother of three. His father died in an accident aboard a fishing vessel. As the youngest of three brothers, he quickly learned to hold his own against his older siblings. When he was 12, he won a youth swordsmanship tournament and became a squire to a local knight. When his dragon hatched for him, he abandoned his master after much argument and joined the riders. He earned the respect of his former master by saving him and his men from an ambush perpetrated by a local rebel group. Now he often travels with a few other riders, seeking out and dismantling criminal organizations across the land.

boetk-istalri || 3 years of age || Male || boetk-istalri has dark red-orange scales and a broad head. He has abnormally large spikes along the top of his tail that work perfectly as a natural mace. He has a large scar across his left flank from a magically imbued lance that pierced Elwrin's defensive spells. || boetk-istalri, often just called istalri by Elwrin, is defensive of his rider, though can sometimes be a bit too overprotective. He has and will remove himself and his rider from an overly dangerous situation, though Elwrin's persistence often results in them getting into some pretty tough situations. || boetk-istalri hatched for Elwrin a little over 3 years ago, sealing both of them to a life of adventure and unimaginable danger.

Iris Barnes | 18 years old | female | Iris is rather small for her age, standing at 5’2 with a slim frame and a sort of distinguishing poise to her. She has dark hair and russet brown eyes, and often stains her lips with berries to add some color. She doesn’t look commanding at first, and she likes that people have a tendency to underestimate her based on her stature. She usually wears what would be considered fashionable dresses and keeps her hair properly tied back with only a few strands left down to frame her face. | Iris puts a lot of stock into being “proper.” If she moves in the right circles of society, she knows she can get pretty much anything she wants, so long as she’s underestimated. She is quick witted and often has exactly the right quip for the situation – it’s rare to find her speechless. Because of this, however, she comes across as abrasive and often unfriendly. She doesn’t place a lot of value in friends – she sees life as herself against the world, and though not uncaring, she doesn’t see a point in letting anyone stay in her life longterm. | Iris, along with her twin brother, grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the kingdom, where her father was assigned to act as city lord. She’s enjoyed the sort of freedom that comes from not only being part of an affluent family, but also not having to worry too much about high society life. She gew up racing horses with the stablehands and exploring the nearby forest with her brother. Now, however, she has become accustomed to the idea of being the proper noble daughter, and is determined to find a place in high society, as her family’s prospects may rely on it.
