Hamza wandered the streets, humming a tune he had heard earlier at the probending arena. As much as he had a distaste for the sport the song was quite catchy actually. His friends always wanted to go and watch the tournaments. The contestants peaked his interest so he agreed to be dragged along. He wondered sometimes who those people would be without their elemental abilities.
Now, Hamza was an air bender but he was far from traditional. Yes, at one point he had shaved his head, but that was a while ago and now Hamza had thick dreadlocks that reached past his shoulders. He thought his bald head made him stick out worse than his height. Plus at his age, it also called attention to his abilities, which unnerved him a bit.
His group of friends were laughing and talking ahead of him but Hamza straggled behind, lost in thought as usual. Hamza was fwipping a deck of cards between his hands. He enjoyed the sound that they made as he bridged the cards but the smell of food wafted through the air and demanded his attention instead. They were all pretty hungry and looking for a place to eat. “Hey, that smells good. Let’s try that place.” Hamza suggested. They all agreed and seated themselves inside the little food shop.
As the night went on, one by one, each friend left, till there was only Hamza. He had tried many things and was full but did not have anywhere to go or anything else to do so he sipped some tea and fiddled with his cards all by himself in a barstool. He was sure he stood out, but had grown accustomed to the staring eyes over the years and was not bothered by what others thought. Hamza noticed a young girl sit herself amongst the barstools as well. Although they were several seats apart, he turned towards Gema and asked "Hey, wanna see a magic trick?" Hamza showed his hand with the deck of cards in it. He hoped he was not disrupting her meal, the soup smelled rather nice actually, he might be up for another bowl himself.

Jiyeong -- His journey to the earth kingdom was meant to be brief, however it seemed it would not be as such. He'd been sent on something as something as a guard for a delivery. He didn't ask for detials on what may be inside said delivery, though he'd be lying if he said he hadn't been curious. Still, he'd kept his hands to himself and moved as the sole guard for the caravan.
The transport had gone off without a hitch, much to his distaste. While he hadn't necessarily wished ill on the travels, he'd at least hoped something would happen. But nothing had. Still, he'd been paid rather handsomely as travel had started near Fire Fountain City.
Upon arrival to the destination, he'd been paid and dismissed. He'd been planning on leaving, truly he had, but a small group of teens had pulled him aside and gushed about a past performance. He'd smilled at them, entertained the conversation and enjoying the compliments. By the time they'd left him alone, it was too late (in his eyes, anyway) to leave. So, he decided it was bes to get some food and find somewhere to stay, and pick up the next day.
He found himself at a small shop - family owned, by the looks of it. Jiyeong wound up order two teas and a small cake to go with it, paying them with a small grin before turning to drink in his surroundings. It was nice - an open window shop, good weather, people milling about around him. It wasn't long before black orbs landed on a particular animal. "A white deerdog... How interesting," He murmured, head tilting slightly as he observed the creature.

»Gema
The food here was always good, a decent sized group and come and sit near her but she'd paid them little to no mind. By the time they'd all gone she'd had two bowls of ramen and a large tea. She was currently working on her third bowl. The girl could eat after bending all night, after she was full she could go home and soak get rid of the soreness that was going to linger a little. She'd gotten hit pretty hard in the arm by a water wipe that night. She'd been eating happily when she heard someone talk, with noddles in her mouth Gema turned slightly still hovering over her bowl. Gema swallowed the food in her mouth and looked at him, for a moment she glanced around not sure if he was addressing her or not. But they were the only two at the barstool seating. Other than a waitress or waiter here and there. Rotating the earth bender turned to him, propping her elbow up on to the tabletop. "A magic trick?" Her head tilted slightly to the side, looking at him for a moment. He didn't look like someone who just carried cards on them to do magic tricks for strangers. But it could be fun. So she smiled, scooting her bowl closer so she could keep eating. "I'd love to see a magic trick." Gema took another bit of noddles and soup and ate it, waiting for him to show her magic.

Jiyeong -- The fire bender kept his eyes on the animal for a few moments longer, as if to ensure it wouldn't run off on a whim. He turned, getting the attention of the woman who had helped him to confirm his order would take at least a few minutes. When he received that confirmation, he turned away after nodding his thanks, instead turning his full attention to the deerdog that appeared to be eating... bread, by the looks of it. Must've gotten it from the shop.
Approaching the animal with gentle steps, Jiyeong craned his neck just so to get a better look. Animals had always created the height of his curiosity. He'd once lured a mongoose dragon home simply to watch and tame it. To his surprise, it hadn't taken very long to accomplish these things. This was different, though. He didn't know exactly what he was trying to figure out here, but he was fascinated nonetheless. "I don't think I've ever seen a deerdog..." he muttered to himself, unaware that the animal in front of him was, in truth, a spirit.

Jiyeong -- When the animal moved, the mercenary paused, watching it closely. It seemed friendly judging by its general demeanor and body language, so as it turned back to the bread, he continued forward. Soon enough, the deerdog had turned to face him with a tilted head. He couldn't help the little grin that took his features as he stopped walking once more. Should he have tried, he figured he was close enough to touch the animal. Not that he would - not yet anyway, he was smarter than that. If a wagging tail meant anything to him, it was that the creature was somewhat happy to see him at the very least. "You're quite the wonderful sight, you know," he mused, briefly wondering of the animal's exact origins. He'd travelled to the earth kingdom many times, and never quite recalled seeing one.
Jiyeong had only just started moving again, reaching out his hand slowly as if to leave time for the deerdog to retreat should it desire. A gentle dinging of a bell distracted him, however. Right, he'd placed an order. He turned, taking the few steps to retrieve his two teas and cake. With the animal out of sight, even just for a moment, he hoped it would still be there when he returned. So, he came back, eyes focused on the drinks rather than checking to see if the deerdog was still present. "Do you like cake? I'd be happy to share." The question was more or less rhetorical - afterall, he didn't expect any form of an answer.

“Alright, alright. I knew you would be interested.” Hamza flashed a smile but paused a moment to think about which trick to do. He usually did these things for distractions, to slip things by when their attention was elsewhere, but not tonight. “I’m gonna shuffle these cards.” He started, sort of illustrating his actions. That was a key component to magic. Letting the audience think they knew exactly what was happening so they were baffled at what seemed to be the impossible results. It was all the illusion. “So these are randomly mixed. This top card is your card, so remember it.” Hamza picked up the top card, twirled it through his fingers before finally revealing an eight of air. (I was like imagining the deck would be similar to what you would expect in our world but the elements (air, fire...) instead of shapes (spades, hearts...) ) He flipped the card back over and returned it to its place.
“I’ll just place your card in the deck, wherever, you know at random.” said while sliding the card off the deck and making it do a quick pirouette on his middle finger. He placed it somewhere in the middle before splitting the deck and neatly bridging the two halves together, twice. Hamza then squared the cards off, held them in one palm and applied pressure to one corner with a thumb. “Now, I’m gonna let the cards go until you say stop and we will see if we can find your card.” He peered up at Gema making sure she was ready before letting the cards glide past his thumb. She looked familiar, he couldn't quite place it though. Hamza would ask about it later, right now he was waiting for her word to stop. This was actually a beginner level trick, but sometimes the simple ones were the best.

»Gema
She propped herself up on the counter, listening and watching his hands closely. Gema honestly couldn't remember the last time someone had done a magic trick in front of her. Then again she'd spent the last few years doing nothing but training, eating and sleeping. Eight of air, okay that is easy enough to remember. "Okay, I've got it in here." She tapped her forehead and laughed a little. (Also love that as an idea super cool to put the elements on the cards ) The dark haired girl hadn't seen magic since she lived with her parents, and that was years ago, be left at about seventeen and had been on her own since. If she had to guess she was around six at a birthday party.
She didn't think she'd ever be able to move cards like that around her fingers, her eyes still rested on the cards and she nodded letting him know she was ready for him to start fanning the cards. "Okaaay....stop!" She said, the cards were just over half way when he stopped. So far she hadn't noticed any slight of hand or anything, it seemed he was good at these things, probably made his living that way. Or it was just a hobby he'd had for years.

The deerdog spirit wagged her tail once more, she liked compliments but didn't everyone? She knew she had a different look than most animals of their world. Of course that was because she was from the spirit realm so she was going to stand out no matter what. Her bird form was a bit easier to hide in but she liked this one better. Studying the man before her she tilted her head a bit. He didn't look the type to enjoy the company of animals. But here he was doting on her, not that she minded one little bit but still. Humans were interesting creatures.
As his hand moved toward her she shifted back just a tad before leaning forward to sniff his hand. As he pulled back she moved back a bit startled by his fast movement. Once he was gone she shifted into her human form, her dress hanging off her shoulders delicately. She was now seated at the table leaning against it. "I'd love to share if you are offering." Yei Sen said softly, her voice was gentle and much like music. A small smile danced on her lips, it was time to see how nice he was. And how shocked he be that the deerdog was gone and instead a girl was there, with the same coloring as the animal at that. She enjoyed cake more in this form, she was able to savor the food more. Small bites were hard as an animal.

Jiyeong -- Looking up from the teas he'd been so concerned with spilling, Jiyeong came to a stop just before the table. He'd only been gone for maybe thirty seconds, which he acknowledged was more than enough time for a deerdog to run off. They were rather quick from what he'd seen. What had caught him slightly off guard was the woman sitting before him who shared some of the features that had caught his interest in the first place. It was... odd, but surely no coincidence. It couldn't be. After all, he would've heard somebody approach as there was really no way for a person to enter from the back of the area. It provided some questions in his head, though he instead focused on how she responded to his offer.
He hadn't stood there for more than a second before he started setting down the full cups and small plate. His features gave away none of his feelings as he continued to wear the small, contented smile he'd had before. To the eye, the mercenary had continued with everything as normal. "Of course," he murmured, holding out a small fork for her to take. "Please, take tea. It'd be selfish of me to keep both." Sitting down, He took this time to assess the possibilities. The girl being a spirit came to mind rather quickly, though he was unsure. They travelled freely, sure, but to be so open about what they could do... He didn't think it was something they would be comfortable with. Then again, how would he know? He was no spirit. Perhaps he'd venture a guess outloud after following through with his offer of cake.

|HAMZA-°•.
Hamza abruptly stopped the flow of the cards. He separated the stacks of cards into two piles before pulling the top card off of the bottom deck. “Let’s see if we found your card.” He flipped it and revealed an Eight of Air. Now, Hamza had already done a couple of things to manipulate his results. In the beginning, he did a double lift, faking the second card in the deck as the first, leaving the card he showed at the top when he mixed the actual first card into the deck. Now Hamza was able to fluently slip the desired card from the top of the pile in his hand onto the top of the bottom deck when he organized the two piles.
Again, a simple magic trick, but very effective. “Tada..” He said flashing a quick smile “Whatcha think?” Hamza asked, it did not seem like the girl had not caught him in any of the things he had done. He always prided himself in his smoothness. “By the way, do I know you?” He asked after a moment, rejoining the cards into a whole deck again. Hamza tapped the cards on the table, squaring the edges as much as he could, the deck was a little old and the edges had started to fray. He tucked them away in the pocket of his maroon-colored hoodie.

The girl's eyes went wide as he showed her the card. She had payed close attention but hadn't managed to see what he had done so it shocked it her. "Woah! How did you even do that?!" Gema asked looking from the cards to him then back at the cards. She shifted once more in her seat trying to see if the card was some kind of trick card but it was just a regular deck of cards. "That is so cool, I can't even shuffle a deck of cards." The earthbender laughed, but she shrugged her shoulders at his question.
"You probably don't know me personally but I'm a probender. I'm the earthbender for the Golden Eel Hounds." Gema said looking up from her soup, not everyone went to games but she wasn't exactly unknown but she wasn't a famous bender either she was just kind of recognizable if someone paid attention.
»Yei Sen Tori
How interesting he seemed more or less unphased by her sudden human form. If he didn't mention it she wasn't going to either. Her eyes watched as he settled and handing her a fork. She grinned happily and took the fork, almost wiggling with excitement about cake and tea. Two of her favorite things. "Thank you." She said softly, her voice sounded normal enough but it almost had a music like quality to it, like little bells when she laughed. "I'm Yei Sen Tori, a pleasure to be sharing tea and cake with you." The girl shifted, crossing her legs, she wasn't wearing any shoes either which again was odd for someone.
She took the tea he'd offered her and sipped it slowly, it was perfectly brewed and just the right amount of sweet, it would compliment the cake perfectly. "So is this something normal that you do? Share you food with strangers? I do it frequently. I find you meet the best people this way. Or the worst but I don't spend much time with those ones." She giggled softly take a small bite of the cake after he took his first bite. Yei Sen didn't want to be rude and take the first bite. Not that randomly sitting with strangers after they'd paid for their food wasn't rude on it's own but she didn't have money. She was a spirit and didn't work.

Jiyeong -- While outwardly he was calm and collected, seemingly unphased by the person before him, questions and assortments of their possible answers were running through his mind. There wasn't really a way to have gotten here without his notice, right? The side of the table she sat at was backed by hedges that travelled directly against the back wall of the small building, coming and wrapping just around the side of the little eating area. There were two other tables at the front with chairs that would've had to been moved - he would've heard. He also wasn't gone long enough to somebody to simply make themselves at home as she had. Every path he took mentally led him back to the woman being some sort of spirit, and he was unsure how to feel about that.
Despite his racing thoughts, Jiyeong had also noted how excited she seemed. It was rather nice despite sharing not being his intention today. Sipping his tea, he glanced up at her over the cup as she questioned him. As she did, he set the cup down in favor of taking some of the cake. Her voice was rather... melodic, if he had to put a word to it. It wasn't powerful, though. No, it was rather gentle. When he finished what was in his mouth, he gave a short hum before answering. "No. Not intentionally, anyway. I much prefer treating others to their own plate." That is to say, he didn't share. Not with people. He'd quickly come to learn that people liked to take more than their fill, and it'd quickly turned him off to sharing as a whole. "I can imagine how sharing with the unpleasant sort goes. You should be more careful who you join."
Taking another sip of his tea, the fire bender found his curiosity mounting. Right then, he supposed there was no harm in acting on it at this time. "Please excuse my bluntness, but how exactly did you get here?"

Hamza was happy to hear the girls surprise “Ahh, a magician never tells the how.” He replied with a typical response and a shake of a finger to gesture ‘no’. “It’s mainly a lot of practice.” Hamza explained, “I’ve been doing this for quite some time now. That trick especially.” He rested his hands on the counter top, folding his hand and leaning his weight forward as he listened to Gema.
“A pro bender. Wow, my friends just missed you then. They will be disappointed to hear that I got the chance to meet you instead of them.” He shook his head and his dreads shifted. “We all went to the game tonight, but it’s not really my scene, I just get dragged along.” Hamza let out a soft chuckle as he remembered who he was talking to. “Not to be rude. Your team wasn’t too bad though. You guys actually made for an interesting round.” Hamza complimented, recalling the name Golden Eel hounds
