Willowpaw nodded aggressively. 'I think I've seen other apprentices do the leap and hold but I haven't done it yet." She sprang around like a rabbit before turnin to her mentor and sitting down. She watched Newtwing intensly and squrimed as though she couldn't stay still.

Newtwing chuckled. "Now for the move it takes agility, and it comes in handy with larger opponents." She flicked her tail. "What you need to be doing, is to leap and be able to land on your opponents back with unsheathed claws, it keeps you out of reach from their claws and will let you be able to inflict wounds on to them. But you also need to be paying attention as they can preform a drop and roll on you."

Willowpaw nodded and thought for a second. "So I need to be ready to leap off if I think they are going to roll over me?" She asked. She was waiting til Newtwing was focused on her question to leap. She lept a few seconds later and lightly gripped with her claws. Careful not to hurt her mentor. She took her front paw and boxed Newtwing's ears.

(Its okay. I've been so busy I haven't been checking this site very often.) Fawnskip nodded to Swanpaw as the apprentice abruptly got up. She watched her walk away and sighed a little. She had been hoping to enjoy the young cat's presence for longer than she had. Dhe looked at Mackenzie and her sister and shrugged at the tom's question. Doewatcher let the suspicion fade from her face to make Swanpaw think she no longer cared. She did care though and stored the memory away to think about later. She shook her head at Mackenzie. "I don't know what would bring up a question like that. I could imagine asking if we've been in battles but full out war is something so different." She definitely looked concerned but she was very unsure as well. "Its been fairly peaceful for all our lives." Swanpaw walked towards the medicine cats den, searching inside for Cherrypetal. When the young white cat could not find the medicine cat she shrugged and flicked her black ears. I wonder where my mentor is, and I have not seen Lynxpaw yet either. making her way back to the elders, she stopped by some moss. Grabbing a few mouthfuls she figured that the elders would appreciate it. "Anyone need more bedding?" She asked as she arrived. Mackenzie nodded in agreement, looking around for Swanpaw as he pondered over why she would say such a thing. He let the thoughts fade as Swanpaw came back over with some moss. "I'm fine, thankyou though swanpaw." |

Doewatcher shook her head. "My nest is fine the way it is." She said watching the apprentice. "When you're done you should come tell us about your training. Let us live vicariously through you for a short while." She said not knowing that the apprentice was getting extra training on the side.

She dropped and fell to her side, not doing the full counter move to avoid hurting her apprentice. "They can do that and crush you. But if you act fast enough when they attempt to it leaves them open for a belly rake."

Swanpaw nodded and brought the moss over, nearly wincing at what Doewatcher had said. she thought up a good reply that wouldn't give her up as she lined the nest. She turned around, her tail flicking slightly. "Well," she started. "We haven't really done any big training yet, mostly just fishing and small prey hunting. I was hunting a bird and got pretty scratched up by the bramble." she licked her muzzle, her stomach rumbling. "I did want to go hunting today but i don't know where my mentor is." Mackenzie stayed silent as Swanpaw spoke, his soft gaze resting on her. Finishing up the rest of his piece of the bird, he chewed as quietly as he could. When she was finished talking, her eyes seemed to have a far off look. He wasn't quite sure what to say. |

Doewatcher nodded. "Ah. That explains your scratches. You should be more careful around brambles. It could have been your eyes they scratched up." She didn't quite believe that all the scratches were from brambles but ahe didn't press the point. "Thank you for the fresh bedding." Fawnskip purred to Swanpaw. She wasn't as suspicious as her sister was about the aoprentice's scratches. She was just thankful for extra cushioning foe hwr aching bones. nimble) |

(I'm new to this roleplay, so hi.)
Mistypaw padded into the camp after catching a few prey for the elders. Woah... This is heavy! Got to get it into camp and rest for a bit. I can't wait to be a warrior! it's going to be so fun!She crossed the camp and dragged the prey onto the fresh-kill pile, then she flopped down to catch her breath.

I'm very lucky that it did not happen." She licked at her chest fur, pondering what else to say. Looking down at her paws Swanpaw sighed. "If Birchcloud does not show up to train me today, what should I do?"

Doewatcher nodded curtly. "If Birchcloud isn't around maybe see if you can join a patrol." She tried to make it sound like a suggestion and not an order becuase she knew how willful apprentices could be.
"I think I saw Newtwing and Willowpaw head put together you could always try to find them." Fawnskip offered kindly. She smiled and flicked her ears gently.

Newtwing nodded at her apprentice's words. "Yes just like that," she said. "But with practice you'll learn for what type of movements to watch for to know if they will do a drop and roll." She rolled to her stomach before standing up. "But a leap and hold is also good for partner fighting as it can help give a distraction if your partner is at a disadvantage."

Swanpaw nodded her head at both suggestions. "Yeah, I'll go see what's up if you guys are all good here?" she looked at the elders, getting up to her feet slightly anxious. She was ready to do something to prove her worth. Standing around all day wasn't her idea of a productive day.
I'll go find Newtwing and Willowpaw. Maybe then I'll get some training done. I'm pretty sure Birchcloud went on patrol without me

Willowpaw nodded and backed up before springing forward. She landed on Newtwing and gripped on before lifting her paw and batting at her ears. She waited to see if she could feel her mentor's weight shift. Newtwing's shoulders moved back adjusting to the new weight on her body. The she cat was happy with how fast Willowpaw was picking up on this move. Her body shifting weight over to her left paws, as her muscles worked to perform a roll. |
