Newtwing thought for a moment. "You look like you are doing fine," she said. She couldn't think of anything the she cat was doing wrong, apart one thing. "We could work on your balance more if you want?"

Tangle - Forest - Wolf (Ember34)
Tangle raised his eyebrow as Wolf spooked. "It went well surprisingly. Though the cat I met looked like she wanted to turn and tell on me the entire time I was talking to her," he mewed, grinning.

Ferret - Above canyon - Mac, Carolina
Ferret nodded her approval and padded forward. "Show me that crouch again," she instructed both of them, lowering herself into her own crouch. "Make sure your hind legs are tucked in to give you a powerful boost. And make sure your tail stays just off the ground."

Shortsun - Camp - Nimblewarrior
Shortsun followed swiftly after Nimblewarrior, setting her prey on the fresh-kill pile once they were in camp. Glancing around the camp, she realized the kits were playing by themselves again and padded over to join Nimblewarrior near them.

Birchcloud - Camp - Bonestar
Birchcloud dipped his head to his leader as Bonestar exited the den. "Well, Cherrypetal said she ran into a loner. He didn't seem to have been a problem, but I just thought you should know," he mewed, choosing his words carefully.

Lynxpaw - Camp - Swanpaw (briefly)
Lynxpaw curled up in his nest, casting a sidewards glance at Swanpaw as she did the same. He silently hoped to find out more about that she-cat he had fought the night before, or be able to train with the white apprentice.

Stonekit - Camp - The Kits
Stonekit puffed out his chest at Brackenkit's praise and jumped off of her. "That's right," he mewed. "I'm going to make sure no enemy dare threaten us!"

Primrosedawn - Forest - Darkpaw
Primrosedawn nodded, angling her head toward the undergrowth. "Show me," she whispered, taking a step back to assess the apprentice's skills.

Stonekit - Camp - Firekit
Stonekit yelped as his brother pounced on him. “Ahh, an enemy is attacking the best warrior ever! How dare you!” He giggled and batted his paw at Firekit.

Newtwing gave a nod to her apprentice, Willowpaw. "When you are leaning you want to balance your weight into the three paws you have on the ground, so that way when you are attempting for a fish, you lower the risk falling in," she said, demonstrating what she meant. "Or when you try to fish you could lay lower to the ground, it makes it a little harder to use your paw, but when you get more comfortable it works for using your head."

Stonekit rolled his eyes. “You wish,” he teased, rearing up and matching his brother’s attacks. He suddenly ducked low and swatted at Firekit’s hind legs. “I got you!” He called triumphantly.

Primrosedawn - Forest - Darkpaw
Primrosedawn watched silently as her apprentice approached the mouse, nodding slightly in approval of her decisions. When Darkpaw stumbled, she took a step forward, but backed off once she made the kill. Taking a moment to reflect, she grinned. “That was quick thinking. Going over the root was a great strategy, even though it meant you couldn’t judge your jump. And you recoiled quickly enough to catch the mouse even after it tried to escape.” She stood up and padded toward Darkpaw. “Just make sure to pay attention to your surroundings, alright?”

Ferret - Forest - Carolina, Mac
Ferret stood from her crouch, watching through narrowed eyes as the two young cats tried again. They weren't bad, but they would still need practice. No one was perfect on their first day. "Good, just make sure not to wait too long, Carolina. Mac, that was good concentration." She looked around, mouth parted to scent the air. "Now, tell me what you can smell."

Birchcloud - Camp - Bonestar
Birchcloud dipped his head to Bonestar as he passed, glad to know it would be dealt with. He followed to tom out into the camp clearing and took a seat nearby. He was curious about the announcement, knowing it would probably about the new deputy. He personally thought himself a good candidate, but he would be fine if someone else took the job.

Lynxpaw - Camp - Open
Lynxpaw opened one of his eyes as Bonestar called to the clan, tempted to just stay in his nest. But eventually he stood and shook out his fur before padding out into the clearing. Sitting outside the apprentice's den, he searched the camp, eyes narrowed.

Stonekit - Camp - The Kits
Stonekit giggled as Firekit stumbled, taking a step back. When his brother continued to attack him, he mewed, "Alright, alright! You win. We're all great warriors." He grinned and looked up as Bonestar called a meeting. He squealed and ran up to Shortsun. "Is he making us apprentices? I want to be an apprentice!"

Shortsun - Camp - Nimblewarrior
Shortsun glanced up at the leader as he called out, ears perked. "You were right, he is calling a meeting," she mewed, nudging Nimblewarrior's shoulder with her paw. Then, she turned back to the white tom and tried to figure out who he was going to choose. When Stonekit ran up to her, she purred. "You're only three moons old, silly. I promise you will soon, but we have to make sure you're big and strong enough," she mewed, licking the top of his head.

Primrosedawn - Forest - Darkpaw
Primrosedawn grinned. "I know you will," she purred, nuzzling the she-cat's head. She kicked dirt over the mouse to find later and mewed, "Now, let's go find something else to practice on."

Willowpaw watched her mentor out of the corner of her eye feeling glee when she seemed satisfied with her work. She continued to watch the water as Newtwing turned her attention to the water. She didn't see any fish though so she waited impatiently for some to come. She tapped her paw gently against the stone beneath her.

Firekit grinned at Stonekit as he conceded. Then he ran after him to Shortsun. Though he didn't echo his brother's question. He sat down and licked his chest.

Newtwing flashed her paw into the water when she saw a shadow getting out a fish. She threw it on to the bank and shook out her wet paw. She settled back onto the ground beside her apprentice. She watched the water for any more shadows to emerge. Her ear flicking back, she could tell her apprentice was getting impatient and she didn't blame her, fishing often took alot of time compared to regular hunting.

Mac - forest - with Ferret and Carolina

Mac shrugged, quickly bored with the lesson. His stomach rumbled , and he groaned. He begrudgingly sniffed the air, scenting a squirrel and a nest of mice nearby. He licked his muzzle and turned to his sister as he spoke. “There’s a nest of mice and a squirrel .”

Carolina - forest - with Mac and Ferret

Carolina sniffed the air , noting what her brother smelt. She couldn’t smell anything else and nodded her head to agree with him. “Yeah that’s all there is.”

Bonestar - camp - camp meeting

Bonestar cleared his throat, still watching his clan. The white Maine coon curled his tail around his paws and took a deep breath. Today’s meeting would be long, there was an apprentice ceremony and also a deputy ceremony. “First of all I would like to welcome Firekit and Stonekit to the clan, they have been here for almost a moon and already are showing strong promise.” He paused , looking at the young grey and white kits . He continued on. “Now, as you know the apprentice ceremony is one of great value, as a young kit knows that once they are old enough , they begin their warrior training. I would like Brackenkit, Bramblekit, Hickorykit and Dapplekit to step forward.” He looked at the young brown kits, his eyes slightly narrowed at the thought of their dad Coldclaws. He fought the urge to shake his head. He watched them come closer, unnarrowing his eyes.
“Brackenkit, your mentor will be Ashenleaf. Bramblekit your mentor will be Littlesky. Hickorykit your mentor will be Ivyspirit . And Dapplekit your mentor will be Mudpatch.” He surveyed the clan. “May starclan light your path.”
“Now before we do anything else I must name a new deputy. I call Birchcloud to come forward and accept this duty. Then tonight each of those I called upon will complete their vigil tonight.”
He purred. “Birchcloud! “ he cheered along with his clan.

Newtwing-River-Willowpaw
"It usually happens, once they realize there are cats fishing they start getting scarce," she explained to her. "But you managed to catch quite a bit." She observed the small pile that Willowpaw had managed to make of the fish she had caught. "We could try further up stream if you want to get more practice in?"

Ivyspirit-Camp-Clan
Ivyspirit's ears perked hearing his name be called to mentor one of the kits. He observed Hickorykit, before walking over to touch noses with his apprentice. He joined in the call of cheering for Birchcloud with the rest of his clanmates. He wondered if there was going to be anything else to the meeting.

Ashenleaf-Camp-Clan
Ashenleaf grinned when he heard he would be mentoring one of the kits. He walked over to Brackenkit and touched noses. The kits seemed like they were all ready for training when he and Primrosedawn had played with them earlier that day. He smiled at Brackenkit, before joining in cheering for the new deputy.

Littlesky-Camp-Clan
Littlesky could feel his fur bristle a bit. He was going to be a mentor? He was nervous, what if he messed up? What if he did something wrong when training the apprentice and it hurt them when in a real situation? He shook out his head to clear the anxieties that were starting to form, and headed to touch noses with Bramblekit.

Mudpatch-Camp-Clan
Mudpatch walked over to Dapplekit and touched noses with her new apprentice. She smiled, she was going to try her best to make sure this kit will be the best warrior possible. She flicked her tail in greeting to Dapplekit. Hearing the deputy ceremony she joined in the cheer for Birchcloud.
