pretty much everyone. Leporello is definitely gay and Tamino's probably pan though (there's other characters that are gay and pan as well) but other than that yeah pretty much everyone is bi to varying degrees- cats tend to treat males and females the same anyway so it makes sense Figaro' s... a case. He goes and does some crazy feline French Revolution thing before going and becoming friends/lovers with literally the richest cat on the block smh wait was Leporello dating Don Giovanni or what
if he did... that would make a lot of things make sense
Leporello was (technically still is) crushing on Don Giovanni for like,,, 3 years,,,up until the Don's "death", which is a lot of time when you're a four-year-old cat. makes what Figaro tells him in page 71 have a lot more sense. The Don probably knew of this, but only used it to have a manipulative advantage.

100% feel the same way, those people are horrible. honestly I hate it when productions make Don Giovanni a hero when he's going around manipulating, abusing, and doing horrible crap to everyone else in the opera. like no he isn't a hero, he's a manipulative predatory scumbag the subtitle is literally The Rake Punished for god's sake please stop

yeah it's horrible. "he pretty much tortured woman and then kills her elderly dad in the first scene" "he's still the hero lol" "he tries to kill Leporello like four times for the fun of it and makes his servant pretty much grovel at his feet" "yeah still a hero" "he just went and tortured a young bride on her wedding night and then beat up the groom for fun" "still the hero" "now he's mocking his former lover and his servant (who's probably crushing on him) as they try to get him to change his ways to make his life better" "so?" "he literally just went to hell" "not a problem" i'm just as clueless as you are.

The Romantic Era (1800s) was when it was really bad because that's when people thought his manipulative abuse and force was "romantic" thank god we don't live in the 19th century but still the Don is definitely a villain in every sense of the word

I can confirm this 100% ensemble is thankfully not like the 19th century in many ways along with portraying the Don as what he really is

The Magic Flute, however...

tbh the only thing that made me pay any attention to the Magic Flute as a kid was Papageno's antics lmao
