Sandfeather nodded in agreement to Blazestorm, “yes, boring and almost suspicious.” She walked along side the tom, admiring the river before they went the other way. As they walked away from the river everything was fine until she smelt the stale scent of an animal she couldn’t make out. “Do you scent that? I can’t make it out because it’s stale.. which is no threat now but ..” her voice trailed off as she looked around anxiously. It’s probably nothing, but it seems like it’s usually always something… Mudfoot stopped at Sandfeathers words, “I smell it too, but I can’t make it out either. Let’s keep going,” he said and continued on his way,

"The day things are peaceful is the day Lightingwhisper stops being competitive." Shadowblaze mumbled under his breath. Still, he wouldn't mind having more lazy days instead of always being on edge.

( speckledfinch is everything okay? Haven't seen you around for some days :c ) Blazestorm grinned at Shadowblaze's comment. He could imagine the tom would sometimes grow tired of his sister's competitiveness but some healthy sibling rivalry never hurt anyone, right? The deputy's ears perked up at the mention of the suspicious scent. He followed after Mudfoot, trying to determine where it came from. Every now and again he liked giving younger warriors the opportunity to take the lead in an experienced patrol to gain some confidence in their (leadership)skills. Sometimes they could get some valuable feedback from more experienced warriors and some younger warriors just needed to get out of their shells. Though, Mudfoot seemed to have no trouble with that. Which was good.

Mudfoot lightly pushed his sister at Shadowblaze’s comment, “oh stop, we’re not even competitive towards each other.” Sandfeather claimed looking at her brother. They kept treading along the border waiting for any unfamiliar scent to hit their noses. They eventually made it to the spot they had started at just a bit always from the river. “Should we head back or fetch some prey for everyone?” Sandfeather asked everyone.

"Wouldn't hurt to hunt." Shadowblaze mewed glancing over at the river. He could see some fish swimming around and he wanted to try and catch a few. "Better to have a lot of prey then no prey."

(Hawk, when do you think we should move on with the apprentices fight and then the raid on the camp? I'm afraid a lot of members don't really seem to be returning :C )
Blazestorm nodded, taking back some prey would be good. "That's a good plan." The preypile did seem a little empty before they left. Though, it was harder to find good prey with the rogues constantly hunting on their territory too. It started to really show, especially with the amount of rodents and birds. Luckily fish didn't seem to run out as fast. The red deputy walked over to the riverbank, his gaze locked on the water.

(Probably tonight after work or tomorrow Mainly we are getting no where. Do you want the rogue to already be hurt and the apprentices to head back to camp/meet Blazestorm patrol or rp the whole fight?)

Sandfeather trotted over to the river a few tail lengths from Blazestorm, “there’s always fish, if you can catch it!” She watched the river and noticed many fish, maybe it was hard for the rogues to catch fish. She stood ready to catch one at the right moment, she huffed when she missed the first one and went for another try. She clung one of the fish onto her claws and flipped it onto shore. She bit it making sure it was dead and looked at her camp mates, “who’s turn next?” Mudfoot scoffed at his sister, “I prefer not to get my paws wet, anyway who likes fish?” He rolled his eyes. “Just say you can’t catch a fish!” Sandfeather said to her brother as he disappeared into the lush of the forest to find other prey.

(Hmm we could skip the fight to where Jax is dying and Oakpaw and Eaglepaw stress out on what to do? They could try to wash the blood off in the river and run into the patrol hehe. If speckledfinch returns Kestrelpaw could join in as if she was there all along) Blazestorm grinned at the siblings. "Some cats just don't like to get their paws wet." He wasn't particularly fond of the water either. Especially after he'd seen a warrior drown in the deep dark gurgling currents. Today the river was calmer however and Blazestorm did like the taste of fresh fish. "Good catch Sandfeather." He complimented the she-cat. After a brief moment of focussing on the silvery creatures darting through the water he heaved his claw and struck one of the fish. Quickly he hooked it onto the shore, delivering a swift killing bite.

Ollie stared in shock at Jax bleeding out in front of him. He stares back at the clan cats and lets out a frantic noise. "G-Get out! You monsters!" He didn't really know what to do and looks back at his friend. "I-I'm going to get help!" He called out before racing back to the camp.
Oakpaw was pushing Eaglepaw away from the rogues wanting to get as far away as possible. Things were getting bad fast and they needed to get out of there.
"Nice catch." Shadowblaze mewed nodding his head to both of them. He waits for a fish to return before lunging forward and pulling back with a flapping fish in his jaws.

(Maybe they could run into Mudfoot first, he’ll have quite the shock to see them like this and then he can decide whether he leads them to the rest of the patrol or to the camp orrr if they go back to see whether Jax really died 🤔)
Jax just laid there, motionless. “I - I’m sorry Ollie.” The tom tried his best to push out these words with a raspy voice. His friend has always been there for him and now - he failed Ollie. And the other rogues. He couldn’t move and he could only hope his friend would return in time but he feared the worst. Why didn’t those cowards finish the job and leave him soaked in his own blood? Why did they leave him in so much pain?
Eaglepaw’s yellow eyes were as round as the moon as he stared in horror at the situation that was unfolding in front of them. He felt frozen. Moments before the rogue tom had been on his paws, entangled with the clancats in a vicious fight and now it felt like the whole forest was painfully silent. Blood.. there was so much blood. It was everywhere, on the ground, on their pelts.. This was not supposed to happen. Was this how it felt to kill someone? As Ollie screamed at them Eaglepaw’s mind finally returned back to earth. He scrambled to his paws while Oakpaw pushed him away. The distraught apprentice broke into a run, letting his adrenaline take the lead. Once they were in a more secluded area he stopped. “I- … What should we do? This is not good..” He stammered, his thoughts were shooting through his head like a flock of wild bats.
————————
Blazestorm was glad to see they’d return with quite some fish. Going hunting had been a good decision. Hopefully Mudfoot was as successful as they were. “This is looking good.” He praised the warriors. “Exactly what the clan needed. I’m sure Snowfeather would be happy to see us return with some good fish. Those kits are always hungry.” He smiled at Shadowblaze and Sandfeather.

(That sounds good to me!)
Sandfeather smiled back at Blazestorm, “they will definitely be happy, maybe we should head back to camp?” She looked around remembering Mudfoot went off into the lush to find some prey. “Well we should wait I’m sure Mudfoot will come back this way,” she said as she looked back at the two toms. She steadied her eyes on the river and was happy for the fish they had caught as well as the silence of the forest, silence isn’t always a good thing…
As Mudfoot made it to a small clearing he stood still waiting to hear, or see, any little movement. He finally fixed his eyes on a squirrel, we crouched down ready for the moment to pounce. He wiggled his haunches and went for the pounce, he caught the squirrel in his claws and bit down for the killing bite. He stood up straight and proud, I hope the rest of the patrol did this good!

"We need to get away before more rogues show up!" Oakpaw said doing his best to keep his voice calm. "M-Maybe we can find a warrior and ask them." He continues pushing his friend and motions for Kestralpaw to follow. They eventually reach a clearing and Oakpaw notices Mudfoot. "Mudfoot! We need help!"
Ollie felt like he was flying as he dashed back towards camp. Once he was close enough, he starts yelling at whoever was around. "I need help! There was an attack! Jax is hurt..." He didn't finish his thought as his throat started to close up. Ollie hated the idea of his friend dying.

Mudfoot fell frozen as the apprentices dashed after him yelling for his help, he tossed his squirrel under a bush and faced them. “What’s happened?” He stammered the words out of his mount concerned, “whatever it is let’s grab the patrol, they are right past these bushes.” Mudfoot rushed through the lush of the forest, when we came out of the last thickest part he seen the members of the patrol was with. “I-I don’t know what’s going on but Oakpaw and Kestralpaw need our help” he said looking hopefully at the three cats that all had a nice plump fish by there sides. Sandfeather jumped up and dropped her fish in a bush, “let’s go.”

(By the way Dawnmist, you can roleplay a rogue as well if you want. The second in command spot is still open I believe!) Eaglepaw felt dizzy as he aimlessly followed Oakpaw's lead. "Yeah.. I guess." He glanced down at his white paws, now stained red with blood. It made him sick to his stomach. He couldn't even lift his head to look Mudfoot in the eye as shame washed over him. He felt so conflicted; he'd dreamt of the day day he could get revenge on the rogues for killing his mother but somehow it didn't feel good. It was dreadful. He couldn't get Jax's face out of his mind. The apprentice just stood quietly, waiting for the patrol to arrive with his eyes closed. -------------------- Blazestorm's head perked up when Mudfoot rushed up to them. His eyes widened in alarm. Quickly he threw his catch into the same bush as Sandfeather's and followed after Mudfoot. Once the four of them reached the clearing where the apprentices were he couldn't believe what he was seeing; they were battered and bruised, covered in blood. "What happened?" The red deputy demanded, taking a step closer to take in the scents of their pelts. "Rogues." He muttered under his breath as he took a step back again. His gaze shifted from one apprentice to another. Something must have gone horribly wrong, it was written all over their faces. ----------------- Gail sat in the clearing, discussing tactics with some of the other rogues when she noticed Ollie rushing into their camp. She immediately rose to her paws and signaled with her tail for a patrol to follow her. "Show me where." She ordered the young tom, her golden gaze blazing with determination. If it where to be true then those clancats would have another thing coming for them. Were they really getting that desperate to attack two youngsters? And they keep insisting that they have the moral high ground - those clancats are truly delusional.

Oakpaw looks over at Eaglepaw and Kestralpaw before turning his head back to Blazestorm. "We were over by the campground looking for the camp and these two rogues showed up. We tried scaring them off but we fought and things got bad!" He stops to catch his breath and looks down at his paws.
Ollie nodded and leads Gail back the way he came. A few curious rogues decided to follow mainly to see what was going on. Ollie silently hoped that Jax was okay though a part of him feared the worst.

(I could I don’t mind! I would just claim a unclaimed rogue if there is any to make things easier.)
Sandfeather felt a ping of sadness for the apprentice as he explained what happened with guilt in his eyes, I knew it felt like something was off… “Catch your breath and lets figure out what we’re going to do next. Should we check on the rogues?” She looked at the others as they all stood in front of the bloody apprentices. She knew that something terrible had happened and the apprentices felt bad for what they had done. I’m sure they only did what they believed was right.
Mudfoot stood next to Sandfeather feeling terrible for the apprentices in front of them, “maybe we should, what if this fires them up and they head looking for our camp?” He felt a tingle of concern, for the kits at camp. He knew they all wouldn’t let anything happen to them.

(Sure that's great!)
Eaglepaw shuffled his paws uncomfortably now the warriors' eyes were all on them. His normally confident behavior had fanished like snow in the burning sun. "We just wanted them to get off Tempestclan territory.. but it went wrong." The young tom fell still for a moment, glancing nervously at Oakpaw and Kestrelpaw. "I.. I think one of them got hurt really bad.. I don't know if he made it.. What if he's dead?" His yellow gaze showed distress and his voice was shaky as he uttered the last question. He glanced back at the warriors for reassurance.
-----------------------
Blazestorm twitched his bushy tail thoughtfully behind him. This was a bad situation. Those rogues were unpredictable and if the apprentice really killed one of them.. Surely they'd be looking for revenge. "We have to act fast. Sandfeather you have to run back to camp as fast as you can. Warn Wolfstar and tell him what happened. Make sure no patrols get send out near the camping grounds and the lake. The hunting patrols that went out have to be warned too, for I'm sure they will get killed if they cross paths with the rogues right now. I trust you with this important message, hurry." He dipped his head to the she-cat and turned to the other two warriors.
"Shadowblaze, you will go after Sandfeather. Take the apprentices with you and make sure to send them to the medicine cat. Keep an eye on them. After they are treated they will have to answer to Wolfstar." He paused for a brief moment. "You three will not leave camp and you will listen to Shadowblaze, understood?" The red tom meowed sternly, he felt bad for the apprentices but they didn't realize yet what an impact this could have on their ongoing battle with the rogues. There was no time to comfort them now.
"Mudfoot, you and I will go back to where the apprentices said it happened. Let's go." Blazestorm meowed and gestured for the warrior to follow him. "We have to be careful they won't see us if they're already there." He glanced at the tom, a hint of worry in his pale green eyes.
------------
Once the group of rogues reached the clearing where the fight had happened an eerie silence fell over them. Jax laid there, his black fur still and matted with blood. His chest wasn't rising and falling anymore. Gail hung her head as she walked up to the young cat, with her white paw she gently closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, young one." She whispered and she glanced up to face the rogues that went with them. Her golden gaze burned with indescribable anger. "They just let him bleed out, didn't even have the guts to kill him without making him suffer." She hissed, her tail lashing behind her.

Shadowblaze glances over at Sandfeather then to the apprentices. "Let's go." He mumbled before leading the way back to camp. He knew things were going to get bad quick. Shadowblaze flicked his tail wondering what was going to happen next. This is going to be a bloody fight.
Oakpaw lowers his head and follows right behind Shadowblaze. He didn't know what Wolfstar would say or how he would react but he would try and brace himself.
Ollie sees his friend laying on the ground and whimpers. "T-This is my fault! I wanted to prove something. Jax I'm sorry!" Why did the clan cats have to kill him? Were they really that cruel?

Sandfeather dipped her head at Blazetsorm, “of course.” She turned towards camp and broke into a run, while dodging low branches and brushes. These rogues would surely be on their way for revenge, Wolfstar must know now. She could see the entrance towards camp and slowed down so she could catch her breath before explaining what happened to Wolfstar. She trotted over to Wolfstar’s den where he had been sitting in front of, “Wolfstar! It’s important, the apprentices had gotten into a fight with rogues and they think they killed one.” She continued to explain the story more in depth and that Shadowblaze and the apprentices would be in camp in a no time.
Mudfoot nodded at Blazestorm, “of course let’s go.” They headed towards where the apprentices had talked about, he hoped there wouldn’t already be rogues there ready to get their claws into any clan cat.

Wolfstar, who was laying outside of his den perks up when Sandfeather comes running over to him. He sits up and straightens up as she explained what was going on. "Thank you Sandfeather, I will deal with the apprentice when they return and confirm that information with Blazestorm." He had no doubt the rogues would come back for revenge.
Shadowblaze and the apprentices return to camp some time later. Wolfstar sees how terrible the apprentices look and allows them to go to the medicine cat den. "Poor things." He mutters softly to himself. They were much to young to have killed someone.

(Yay! Now Gail has someone to share her awful plans with hehe)
Eaglepaw flattened his ears in shame as he followed Shadowblaze towards camp. Now they had to be watched, just like kits. What would Wolfstar say? What would his father think of him? A shudder went over his spine. Once they reached Tempestclan camp they were off to the medicine cat den. He hadn’t even thought of his own wounds anymore.
——————-
Blazestorm warily followed the path the apprentices had described. He made sure all his senses were set sharp. One misstep could cost the two of them their lives. Once they came closer and closer he could pick up some faint voices in the distance. He glanced over to Mudfoot, signaling with his tail for him to be on guard as they neared the source of the sounds.
———————
Gail closed her eyes for a brief moment. When they opened she was calm once again. “No Ollie. This is not your fault. It’s those filthy clancats who butchered him. We’ll teach them a lesson they won’t forget. We’ll avenge Jax. For today they have started the war.” The white she-cat raised to her paws. “Let’s take Jax home and give him a worthy goodbye. He died a hero.”

(Yes! She’ll be at the rogues camp for when Gail and the rest get back)
Sandfeather was a few tail lengths from Wolfstar after the apprentices had went to the medicine den, she knew the apprentices only did what they thought was right. But that wouldn’t mean the rogues wouldn’t be out for revenge. “We should be prepared for the rogues to come for revenge right?” She said quietly but loud enough for the leader to hear. She put her head down thinking, they will be out for our blood.
Mudfoot creeped quietly after Blazestorm stepping as quietly as he could as if he were stalking prey, he could hear the faint voices of the rogues. They creeped close enough to hear their voices, “for today they have started the war.” He put his ears back after hearing those words, he kept watch in hopes the rogues wouldn’t catch their scents.

Pumpkin: a short-haired ginger she-cat with dark green eyes. She is 42 moons old. She is blunt and is usually very stubborn with a scar of claw marks on her shoulder. She occasionally will be sweet which she would call her “weakness.” She was born into a kittypet life and later became a loner among the forest and twoleg area, she ended up meeting the rogues and stayed with them ever since. She is incredibly loyal to the rogues and has no pity for any clan cat. She knows where her trust and loyalties lie, in other words, she is protective and ruthless. (Mumpkinpumpkin)

Wolfstar nodded his head gravely. He knew the upcoming fight would be vicious and worried about how much damage would be done. He thought about going on a diplomatic mission to talk things out but he had a feeling it was to late. For now, he would remain calm as to not rile up the clan.
Falconfrost had spotted the apprentices and wondered what was going on. He walks over to the warriors den and nudges his brother awake.
Ollie nodded his head and walks over slowly to Jax. He lightly takes his scruff and starts dragging him back to camp. Rest easy my friend. We will avenge you!

Blazestorm’s green gaze was locked on the faint shapes they could see from where he was hiding with Mudfoot. The words cut deep in his core. The rogue tom was really dead. And this ignited their anger towards the clancats. A shiver went over his spine. Hopefully they could pick up a part of their plan while they were here.
——————————
Eaglepaw sat in the medicine cat den with his fellow apprentices. The medicine cat had put some poultices on his wounds and it stung uncomfortably. He glanced at Oakpaw, worry in his gaze. “Do you think we’ll get punished?” He asked. Honestly he didn’t really want to think of the bigger picture and what would happen next but there was no hiding from it.
——————————
Gail ordered a few other cats to help Ollie carry Jax’s body. Her gaze narrowed for a heartbeat, did she just pick up the fresh scent of clancats nearby or was her nose fooling her? She snorted and turned away to lead her patrol back to their camp. It was time for drastic action.

Mudfoot looked at Blazestorm hesitating to speak. “Should we follow them?” He finally blurted out. He didn’t want to follow the rogues knowing they wanted to rip their pelts off, but if they knew their plan the clan cats would have a better chance at running them off.
———-
Sandfeather felt uneasy pacing around waiting for Mudfoot and Blazestorm. Wolfstar wasn’t saying anything to the other warriors which worried her even more. Who knows when they will come for revenge, we have to be ready!
—————
Pumpkin paced around the rogue camp waiting for the other patrol to come back. She felt as though something was off, it’s been a non stop battle with loners and clan cats.

"I think so but maybe it won't be so bad. I mean it was a mistake." Oakpaw said trying to be optimistic. He hoped the punishment wouldn't be to severe. "Maybe we will get stuck with cleaning out everyone's bedding."
Lightingwhisper walks over to Shadowblaze. "What's going on? Why is Sandfeather pacing?" Shadowblze glances over at the she-cat wishing he would just remain calm. "I can't say yet but there may be a fight coming." Lightingwhisper rolled her eyes not understanding the gravity of the situation. "So what else is new? You know we can fight off those flea-bags with our eyes closed!"
Amber waits patiently for Gail and her brother to return. She wasn't sure what happened but she could feel the tension in the air. She glances up at the sky as dark clouds began to cover the blue sky.
