The tom's russet red ears twitched in the direction of the bush, eyes narrowing a shade, but then relaxing visibly when Cinderpaw wandered through the foliage, he flicked his tail. Not Lepa, an apprentice. Though both could be just as annoying as each other, his whiskers twitched with amusement. His ears grow warm at her prying questions, "I'd prayed for wings and thought I'd try them out," he grumbles, not a topic most of his clanmates would joke about, but Dusksong lived a life along the lines of 'couldn't care less,' and the Gods had yet to smite him for it. Clearly bigger fish to fry than a mischievous young warrior. The long legged tom drew his tail around his paws, watching the apprentice with a slightly frustrated expression; the age gap between them not massive for the warrior was fairly fresh out of the apprentice's den, and perhaps today that had shown more than he cared to admit. "Has your mentor not warned you to watch where you place your feet?" He asks, no malice to his tone despite his initial frustrations. "That squirrel could have fed the nursery and the elders den."

(One last reply before I go to bed!!)C I N D E R P A W with Dusksong
Of course she knew that Dusksong was joking when his first response to her question was that he was trying out a pair of wings. The she-cat purred slightly at the funny comment, though still had to move her head to check the tom's back, just in case there were actually a pair of wings sprouting from his spine. But no, no wings to be seen and Cinderpaw was almost disappointed. "Wouldn't it be cool to have wings though?" She did have to meow eagerly, sounding quite fond of the foolish idea. "You could just fly around with nothing to stop you and catch all the birds you wanted to. And imagine being able to swoop down and just catch mice that didn't even know you were there!" It was just a dream, however, even if it were a very cool one. Though the she-cat's head did dip slightly at the question about her paws, blue eyes glancing down at them for just a moment. But, then she decided it wasn't her fault whatever squirrel he had been trying to catch had gotten away. "I didn't scare it off," came the stubborn response, lifting her head up proudly again as she plopped into a sitting position, "You must just be not a very good hunter."

Generally speaking, Dusksong was a good natured, if not somewhat slightly pesky young warrior who was a little too big for his britches. However, he was already in a poor mood about having lost a good piece of prey as they were on the brink of leafbare, and the apprenticeโs comments about his talents werenโt appreciated. Admittedly he wasnโt the best hunter, his talents pertained more to the battlefield, but he wasnโt going to say as much allowed. โWell it wasnโt me who snapped that branch,โ he grumbles, long russet tail sweeping back and forth through the air, he looked back and where his paw prints remained in the thigh dirt underfoot. Not a single branch in sight that was in enough of a proximity for him to have snapped. โAnd I donโt smell Lepa around,โ he twitched his tail in the direction the shecat had come from. โIt seems to me the answer is obvious.โ

Dusksong seemed quite adamant that he was not the one to break whatever stick had been broken to scare off the squirrel he had been catching. And equally so, Cinderpaw was certain that it hadn't been her, either. Sure, she might be a young apprentice only recently moving out of the nursery, but she knew better than to walk around making a loud noise and scaring off prey. Or, she thought she did. "Well, it wasn't me, either," the she-cat argued back, puffing out her chest to try and look a little bigger, "I didn't stand on any stupid sticks." She was almost certain at this point that she hadn't. There weren't even any broken twigs on the ground in sight that either of them could have trodden on. "It must have been something else." Or, someone else, but she couldn't smell anyone else around.

The muscled tom relented with a half-hearted grumble, as frustrating as it was a lost squirrel was hardly something to fall into a full blown argument for. The breaking of branches was hardly a punishable crime, and he was already bored of their back and forth. Plus, he could hardly pinpoint the blame solely on the apprentice, though he was quite certain none could be applied to himself. "Whatever," he grumbles with a flick of his long plumed tail, the annoyance not quite gone from his voice, but the willingness to bicker eliminated. Once again he cast a suspicious glance about them, looking for signs of something else at play, but he spotted none of the telltale hints. No fog, no chuckles from hidden places, and the fact neither of them were dead said there was nothing of worry. If it is you, Lepa... his mental threat falls short, he had no idea how to threaten a celestial spirit, and even him in all his confidence knew it wasn't a great idea. "You can make up for it, come on lets hunt, and be carefl where you please your paws," he scolds but his tone is largely playful this time.

C I N D E R P A W with Dusksong
No matter what the older tom said to her, Cinderpaw was adamant that she had nothing to do with scaring off the squirrel he had been trying to catch. It was all just his fault no matter what he thought about it. Though Cinderpaw didn't really want to spend the whole time arguing about it, she had snuck out of camp in the hopes of finding something exciting to do. That was before she had gotten sidetracked when she caught Dusksong's scent, but now she had found the warrior she was hoping to get on with her interesting adventures. Before anyone who might care noticed she was missing. Though as she sat there she did have to curiously watch Dusksong as he looked around the two of them for any sign of something wrong. But she was sure if one of the Gods were around they would know about it, but everything was quiet. Almost peaceful. Not a single sinister sign to be had.
"Really?" All the excitement suddenly returned to the apprentice in one go, practically jumping up to her paws, tail on full alert. Dusksong wanted to go hunting with her? He wasn't going to send her back to camp and tell her off for trying to sneak out? "Where are we going to go? Will it be far? Are we going to be out for long?" Maybe too many questions, but suddenly she was rather excited.

The young warrior regards the apprentice with mild concern at her excitement, had he had eyebrows - they'd have been skyhigh. Already worrying wether or not he would regret asking the apprentice to follow him on a hunt. "I mean unless you think your mentor will need you," he begins, but from the way Cinderpaw is bouncing about him - he doubts she can even here a word he uses after his offer. By the Gods, he thought to himself, watching her with mild bemusement. Don't let this be a bad idea. But he can't help but chuckle, "You act like you've never been on a hunt before - you are aware of what a mouse looks like, yes?" He clarifies with a light, teasing tone. The forest around them had begun to pick up a steady breeze, the cold whipping up his dark russet fur around his lanky form. Bad idea. He confirms as the questions spill from the apprentice's lips like the heavens have opened. He chuckles, "I was thinking of going to the Meadow, stretch my legs and practice hunting rabbits," he explains, flicking his tail.

Cinderpaw wrinkled her nose up almost instantly at the suggestion that Myrtlebloom might need her so she couldn't go hunting. That was just ridiculous. Then again, the young apprentice hadn't exactly checked to see if her mentor was even awake or not before she had left, but she supposed it was fine. "Nope, I bet she's still fast asleep," that is what Cinderpaw was hoping was the case, anyhow. Maybe she could go hunting with Dusksong and then slip back into camp without her mentor even realizing she was missing in the first place.
"Of course I know what a mouse looks like," the apprentice huffed with a flick of her tail. She had been hunting a pawful of times now and she liked to think she was getting pretty good at the whole thing. Of course, it was going to take a lot more work until she was as good as a fully trained warrior, but Cinderpaw was certain she could still hold her own against Dusksong and not slow him down. Though the news they would be chasing after rabbits did cause the ashen gray she-cat to practically vibrate with excitment. "Well, let's go then!" She announced loudly, bouncing away a couple of pawsteps, turning her head expectantly towards Dusksong to follow.

For a moment the young warrior trails, watching the smaller shecat bounce about like a kitten who snuck unnoticed from the nursery. Part of him considered turning tail and fleeing, hoping his longer legs and experience would leave the apprentice in his wake; though in her current state of excitement Dusksong wasn't sure Cinderpaw would even notice he was gone. If she gets herself hurt, Myrtlebloom will have your skin, he thought but that still wasn't enough to entirely convince him to not disappear into a nearby bush. Ruefully the long legged red warrior follows the apprentice at a steadier pace, his long strides keeping up with the shecat fairly easily as they retreat deeper into the woods, foliage soon devouring them from sight; heading in the direction of the meadow. Where hopefully the hunt would distract the chatty apprentice and the tom wouldn't lose his hearing. "Did you actually check if Myrtlebloom was awake?" The tom asks after a few moments, the breeze now whipping at his ruddy fur. "Or did you leave without letting her know?" He asks, a grin playing at the edge of his features. "Are you even meant to be out of camp?"

serpentfang tom ; warrior ; shatteredclan
Dark, empty shadows circled him, taunting him, as he struggled to draw air into his lungs. His black and white paws flailed in the darkness, though it felt as though they were stuck in the thickest of muds, his heart galloping in his chest like a runaway stallion. Cries of desperation and terror were wrenched from the very pits of his stomach, the sounds akin to a dying prey animal, which of course is exactly how Serpentfang felt.
His claws had already slipped from his paws as he tried to grasp onto anything that would help drag him out of the inky pool of nightmares. His amber eyes were blown wide in terror as a spine-tingling scream ripped from his throat - the absolute force of it enough to wake the tom from the horrible dream he'd been trapped inside. His flanks heaved as the shaken tom whipped his head around, taking in the familiar space of the warrior's den, trying to calm himself. His whole body shook as he collapsed back into his nest, covering his face with his paws, sobs rattling in his chest. โ [ tag ] โ [ the warrior's den ] โ myrtlebloom molly ; warrior ; shatteredclan
The dark tortoiseshell had woken up a little later than she normally did, tired from a full day of training Cinderpaw and patrolling the day before - she'd even volunteered for moon-high patrol. Shaking herself, her white tipped tail flicked as she slipped quietly out of the leader's den where she shared a nest with her mate. Her nose twitched as the familiar scents of camp engulfed her - a specific one wrapping around her like a soothing embrace, the scent of home. Riptidestar. Low and behold, atop their shared den, sitting at the highest point of camp like a silent sentinel, was their leader. With a powerful bound, she landed beside him carefully, padding until she could settle herself beside him. "We were blessed with a quiet morning today," she offered, leaning lightly against his side, her bright green gaze sweeping the camp. The peace of the morning so far was appreciated - until a scream came from the warrior's den. The sound was distinctly Serpentfang - another of his nightmares no doubt. geckospots tom ; warrior ; shatteredclan
Late to bed and early to rise, that had always been the russet tom's motto. Sleep was a chore to Geckospots and he'd much rather be up hunting or patrolling, caring for his clan. He'd left his nest early and had already gone out on a quick hunt, returning with two mice and a shrew, which he'd already placed on the fresh kill pile. Now he stood in the clearing, torn between waiting to be assigned to more patrols or maybe finding his brother - seeing if he would like to go out... though a quick scent of the air said that Dusksong's scent was stale. He must have already left camp. โ [ tag ] โ [ the camp ] โ darkwillow molly ; queen ; shatteredclan
Darkwillow let out a small sigh, wincing as she placed her paws on the ground, they often ached from the claw removal. The spotted silver tabby padded out of the nursery, where she'd chosen to go instead of the elder's den. At least here she could still be of some assistance - she could help look after kittens and take care of the queens... Not that it was anything compared to her former life. The molly had been a fierce warrior, a skilled fighter, which was probably why Ursa decided to possess her. Her heart felt heavy as she padded silently to the side of the den, trying to stay out of the way. โ [ tag ] โ [ the camp ] โ heathpaw tom ; apprentice ; shatteredclan
The apprentice was having a great dream, one where he was becoming leader of the clan, taking after his father. Well, he was, until a paw jabbed into his side and pulled him from his sleep. A grumble of complaint left the tom as his brown tabby head lifted, his blue eyes flashing at his sister, unimpressed by her wake up call. "Ugh, fine, it's way too early though, Frogpaw," Heathpaw grumbled - not at all a morning cat. He shook himself as he stood, trying to fight off the sleep that was trying to call him back into his warm nest. "Let's get out of here before you wake the whole den," he said, nudging his tortie sister towards the exit. His words may have sounded harsh but they didn't come from a mean place. He loved his sisters, he just really didn't love mornings. โ [ Frogpaw (renaissance) ] โ [ the apprentice's den ] โ

The muscled leader watched as a familiar patchwork of calico colours departed the shadows of his den, he allowed himself the moment of privacy to enjoy the beauty of the shecat he adored, her lithe muscles and shiny coat. His expression gave little away, observant but unchanging as she launched herself from the long grasses bellow and to the stone at his side. He nods at her comment, a rarity but an enjoyable one. โYour up late,โ he comments, rubbing his head against hers as she settles beside him. Shifting to offer her more room beside his bulk, before curling his body around her slightly to offer shelter from the slight winds. The words might have sounded criticising, but the Tom had never much talent when it came to conversation, but for the shecats sake he did his best. Always trying to better himself for the shecat he beiueved to be quite perfect. โHow was your patrol?โ Admittedly there was more nuance to his question, heโd heard word of an old friend being back in the territory, the sight of a lone wolf amid the fog. He tried not to appear shaken by the news, but it was something niggling at the back of his mind, worry he couldnโt quite shake. The sound of a yowl from the warriors den has him on his paws and in a defensive stance before his mate in a heartbeat. Even as leader he had always been the protective type, wanting to keep his clan safe before letting others do the work for him. It takes him a moment to realise whatโs happening, and he soon settles beside her once more, a little closer this time. It was nothing new, and he was aware he had similar nights, but Serpentfang suffered more than most. Not that there was much the leader could do, aside from warm the healers and check in with the warrior when he next had the chance.

C I N D E R P A W with Dusksong
Admittedly, Cinderpaw was simply happy to get out of camp and not be sent back with her tail between her legs for breaking the rules. Of course she knew it was dangerous to be out here by yourself, especially when ay of the Gods could appear to cause mayhem and mischief at any moment. But the apprentice couldn't help her curiosity, she hated being stuck in camp for too long. Her small body simply thirsted for adventure. And she was sure that she could manager herself just fine, she was going to be a great warrior someday and all she needed was the ample opportunity to prove herself to Riptidestar. Maybe if she did that, their leader might make her a warrior early. Though unlikely, it was still a nice thing to have on her mind as she and Dusksong continued to walk, Cinderpaw only ocassionally glancing towards the tom with her bright blue eyes.
They walked in silence for quite some time, so the sudden meow of Dusksong breaking the quiet did surprise Cinderpaw for just a moment, her fur jumping on end. But only a second later her fur lay flat again, ears twitching as she considered how to respond to the question. "I didn't need to check," she meowed evenly after a moment, "I'm sure she was still asleep and I didn't want to bother her so early..." Which was code for: no, she hadn't asked and no, she probably wasn't supposed to be out of camp, either.
Littleflower T I N Y P U D D L E with Serpentfang
Tinypuddle was a quiet sleeper, he barely moved, spending most of the night curled up in a small ball in his nest, flanks softly rising and falling with each deep breath. However, the tom was well aware of the fact that there were others who were not so lucky as to have peaceful nights. And he was aware of that fact more than ever when he awoke suddenly that morning to sharp claws digging right into his shoulder from the nest next to him. Lifting his nose out of his fur, Tinypuddle flinched slightly as he heard the loud scream from Serpentfang right next to him as the other warrior startled himself awake from the dreamworld he had been trapped in.
"Another nightmare, I presume," Tinypuddle meowed as he sat up in his nest, addressing the black and white tom in the next nest over, "Though this is the first time I have been clawed awake." But his tone held no malice, only concern as he bent his head, rough tongue licking at the spot Serpentfang's claws at dug into him, smoothing the fur out again. By far it was not the worst injury he had ever received and he was sure it would heal in no time. And it certainly wasn't anything to bother the Medicine Cat with, either. What kind of warrior was he if he couldn't handle a simple scratch?

myrtlebloom molly ; warrior ; shatteredclan
An unladylike snort escaped the molly at the her mate's comment about her late awakening - not that she hadn't been expecting it. Riptidestar was an observant feline and it was a rare occasion when they didn't wake up together, ready to face the dawn together. "Excuse my tardiness?" she teased light-heartedly, a quiet purr rumbling in her chest when her mate wrapped himself around her. His warmth and strength was a familiar comfort around her. Myrtlebloom snuggled her head under his chin. "The patrol went... well. We didn't lose anyone at least," the warrior admitted quietly, her eyes flickering to the pine trees that stood guard around their home. She peered up at her mate, freezing when he stood in defense before her. His protective instincts had always run high, something she admired greatly. Myrtlebloom knew that his stance wasn't because Riptidestar didn't believe she couldn't defend herself but was born out of a need to keep those he loves safe from harm. Her tail runs soothingly down his spine when the brown and white tom settled back beside her, pressing herself tightly to his side. "There were flashes of a canine shape in the shadows, I won't lie to you, Tide," Myrtlebloom said, knowing how deeply her mate would be affected by the death god's sighting. Still, it needed to be reported. He'd been asleep last night when she had returned, so the tortoiseshell had been content to just curl up into his warmth. serpentfang tom ; warrior ; shatteredclan
The tom jolted upright in his nest at the sudden voice, coming from his direct right. Tinypuddle's nest was the only one beside his, all the other warriors had moved away due to his basically nightly terrors. His watery amber gaze zeroed in on the blood shoulder of his den-mate, horror turning the contents inside his stomach until Serpentfang was sure he was going to be sick.
"N-no... Tinypuddle..." his distressed whimper could not have held more anguish in it if he'd just watched his tail get cut off. "I'm so sorry... I'll move my nest away.." he was thinking out of the whole den entirely at this point. He couldn't believe he'd actually hurt someone. Pain lingered in his amber gaze as he scrambled to his feet, legs trembling. Serpentfang had moss clinging to his black and white coat like spider webs, probably from all the tossing and turning he'd done.

Riptidestar. In Camp; with - Open @tags. The leader grunts with appreciation as the shecat nestled closer to him, calming his thundering heart, how heโd have survived these years without her he had no idea. He nuzzles the back of her tortoiseshell ears when she tucks her elegant head beneath his chin, Riptidestar holds her close, but what use is a protective cat against a god? One he barely survived against himself the first time, and doubted heโd manage a second. He listens, clearly a little distracted at first, but her words snap him back to life with whiplash like effects. โIโm glad to hear you had no issues,โ he said softly, but the tension that ripped through his frame was notable, even if the rest of his features had their usual stone stillness. Riptidestar oresses himself closer to her as he listens. The god might have left, but the Tom would never forget his taunting voice in his head, the incessant cruelty he had known during those awful moons. His ordeal hadnโt been for nought, he has a healthy family and an alive mate because of it, but the aftermath of his sacrifice was apparent, even if he liked to pretend he was fine. โI appreciate your honesty,โ his voice all but vibrates with honesty. โI will warn the clan to keep an eye out,โ his tone is mostly calm. Wanting to move away from the difficult conversation, the proud Tom never enjoying coming so close to admitting his flaws or that he was scared, Riptidestar cast his gaze across camp, looking for the telltale signs of the mischief makers he knew as children. โHow are the kits?โ He enquires, despite them now being apprentices he would always think of them as the tiny, beautiful creatures heโd known them as when his mate first gifted them to him. Admittedly his life didnโt leave much time to spend with them as heโd have liked, but he hoped they knew he loved them more than anything. Dusksong.. In Camp; with - Open @tags. The warrior grunts with mild amusement at the apprentice's insistences that it would all be okay and she wasn't going to be in trouble. In fairness it wasn't all that long ago he was in a similar boat, desparate to be out of camp but seemingly everyone in the clan intent on keeping him confined. After his close brushes with a badger; he could perhaps understand why certain clanmates wanted to keep a firmer grasp on his reigns, but that had made those moons nonetheless boring. "Of course," he responds not believing a solitary word of it, but too excited for the hunt to really go prying any further with questions. The pair continue in a comfortable silence at a reasonable pace, until the forest opens up around them and the ground underpaw flattens. The Meadow. He twitches his tail at the apprentice, considering that given they're here he might as well test her talents. "I can smell rabbit, prove yourself a warrior and go find it," he challenges though not unkindly.

OOC: That's not an issue! we all make mistakes.
In terms of possession, yes in order to get rid of the God the cat does essentially get exorcised. Essentially with a mixture of herbs, the cat goes into a deep sleep where the shamans will meet them in their dreams, and through a mixture of fighting and prayer, they try to chase the God away. I can't decide, however, if that's just a rubbish/stupid idea and I need to come up with something else, if someone has a different idea please feel free to let me know.
The cat doesn't need to bear a resemblance to the God they're possessed by at all! However, it would be unusual in clan lore for Juba to possess without taking something as payment. If you really don't want a character like that; okay just for the once, however, people should know that's not common and not to have that regularly occur please.
I'm really sorry แผ๊ฎ๊ญฑ๊ญฐ๊ญฑ๊ฎ๐ณ๊ฎ I will finish Dusksong's response later, I have to go and I have a fairly busy day ahead. I will get that out for you as soon as I can, I'm really sorry for any inconvenience.

(Being slow is okay as I now have the real life Owlwing to look after. Also known as Milo)T I N Y P U D D L E with Serpentfang
Tinypuddle could tell that Serpentfang seemed quite distressed by what he had done, even though the warrior himself didn't really think it were that big of a deal. He had suffered far worse at the paws of far worse. The scratch was hardly even bleeding that much and he was sure that by the end of the day he wouldn't even notice it was there anymore. "You really don't have to worry," the undersized warrior meowed with a small flick of his tail, "No damage done really."
A couple more licks to his shoulder and you could barely even tell anything had happened in the first place. "You don't need to move your nest," he added with a small shake of his head, "This was a first time thing." And he was sure that he would still be woken up by the yowling regardless of whether he was the opposite side of the den or not.
