I need to know what the general 'limit' for gore and violence is. I also wonder what the moderators' stance is on mild themes of cannibalism. I'm just wondering.

Uh, that's kinda debatable, on the gore and violence thing. They say nothing more than PG-13 movies, and then you look at those movies and it's like woah those are very bloody indeed
Idk about cannibalism tho

I draw the line at very descriptive. Same with the cannibalism. If you post it and report it or PM it to a mod saying you want us to go through it, and they'lll get back to you.
Edit:: I agree, it's a bit debatable, but if it's not found in a PG-13 movie, it doesn't belong here.

Hmmm.. most people would say if it's not in a Disney movie it's not allowed. Yet there have indeed been movies that break the boundary. How they do it is by building up the emotion of the characters surrounding the individual who is to meet an unlawful death.
So as noted, a descriptive build up, then a shady kill. If a character is being ripped apart focus on the characters emotions to the actions, rather then the action itself.
Now... as for cannibalism.... Describing what's being eaten would be a little deep.
Stating that the action was done is a little completely different. -->> "I ate so and so, and boy was it grand!" --> "oh him? We not need to worry... he's sorta being digested as we speak" --> "Do you really wanna know what we're eating? Well.. . I mean you on my talked to her last night." --> "the question isn't what are we eating, rather whom are we eating." --> "forgive me my friend, but the situation sorta called for it.." --> "hehe, well you did offer yourself first. Who could say no to such a lovely offer."
So it really depends to the level of description, mentality, and smooth talking through a post. If you can create the same gruesome scene using vague words, and focusing on the emotions of others, never once mentioning what they see physically before them, rhen I'd say it would be alright.
However, this isn't always the case since some people disagree that the same moment can't be created without those specific words. They can, you just gotta think a little.
Should this become difficult, or impossible, I'd suggest you scrap the whole cannibalism idea all together.
Also if you do decide to push this concept forward and have an upcoming scenario and need advice on how to make it forum appropriate, you are always free to pm me the idea and I can toss out suggestions or provide with similar idea examples.

I feel like cannibalism shouldn't be allowed. I mean, most of us are 13+, but people can lie about their age and kids under 13 can still visit here. Imo, cannibalism should be kept to PM, even if it isn't descriptive. Just the idea of it is a bit too mature for a family-friendly forum.

Just the idea of it is a bit too mature for a family-friendly forum. here's my view: i couldn't care any less about the kids under 13. they don't belong here and i'm not going to waste my time and energy catering the site to their needs when just having someone under 13 on this site puts me in a position of legal responsibility. the moment they're found out, they'll be deleted. no exceptions. they can whine all they want, but it'll just end with their ip address being banned. www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-coppa-frequently-asked-questionsIf that's the case, then why is this site open to being viewed by anyone? If you say that kids under 13 shouldn't be here, then make it so you need an account to view the forums. Otherwise, there's nothing stopping a kid under 13 from viewing the forums. Plus, if a kid sees that the age min. is 13, they're not likely to just blab to anyone that they're under 13.

It used to force you to login in to view the forums, but now it's open for public viewing.

just because there are ILLEGAL CHILDREN viewing the website does not mean the site has to cater to them. do you know how stupid that sounds? the ILLEGAL CHILDREN are viewing the site at their own risk. do ""adult websites"" cater to children and censor everything? no! they cater to their target audience!

Try telling the parents that. There are parents out there who think the law revolves around them. Besides, cannibalism isn't really appropriate for anyone under 16, regardless of how descriptive it is. The fact of the matter is that it's illegal itself, so it should be treated on here the same way illegal drugs and other highly illegal activities are.

If underage kids decide "screw the law i come here anyways" they have agreed to face whatever awaits them on the other side. I say it should be allowed, but that's just me.

What I meant was MILD themes of cannibalism, not anything revoltingly descriptive. I was simply wondering what the 'boundaries' were. Please excuse my vagueness.
