On June 27th, there was an argument between forum members and Roswell. During the fight, their appalling behavior towards younger members came to light. Roswell openly admitted to their actions. We knew that this couldn't be swept under the rug and we strongly disagree with what Roswell did to this community.
The moderating team were careful to prepare several plans during July on ways to remove Roswell as well as kept the mental-health of our community and ourselves safe. We took time to come up with back-up plans that meant the forums weren't deleted and Roswell was removed.
On July 23rd, the moderating team confronted Roswell to resign as admin. Roswell attempted reassuring us that things were "okay." We disagreed. It was not until August 13th that Roswell gave us admin-ship.
We want to reassure you all that the WCRP won't be removed or deleted and that Roswell has no access to the forums. We've had new admins since August 15th. If there's any concerns about the forums, please message us!
We strongly disagree with Roswell's actions and any actions that harm the physical, mental or emotional well-being of others. There were victims to Roswell's actions and some of them are still on the forums. We ask to not create a bunch of topics talking about the details of Roswell's misconduct, as it will impact them. Please only offer love and support to those concerned.
Threads supporting Roswell and belittling the victims' experiences will not be tolerated.
We ask that questions regarding the specifics of what happened be kept between willing parties - in PMs or private messages. If someone is not looking for answers, it is their right to keep their peace of mind.

Yes indeed, I disagreed with their threat to ban people for opinions they did not like. :/ I believe I'm aware of which threat this was, but I may be remembering various things which happened around the same time. I didn't particularly agree with a lot of things they did beforehand. As for it contributing, Roswell was their own package. The threat would have been the tip of the iceberg and I was much more concerned with what was under the water. So while it was something I really disagreed with and never supported, it wasn't a contributing factor - or at least not as strong a one - when all the other things which happened over June were considered. I would say that it meant I was hostile/hesitant toward any of their decisions before things turned out as they did. |

I remember Roswell from way back when. Wasn’t a great person back in 2013, still wasn’t. Just never said anything. But I’m glad the community here is safer now.
